Seafood is the name of the game whenever you're making your first stop around the San Francisco. With the help of Yelp, good seafood was easy to find. Around the downtown area, it sits in it's own restaurant section amongst the busy streets. Regardless of it being busy, a lot of the establishments around are a quick grab and go. Just like Basa Seafood, which means parking isn't an issue! ‍‍ The establishment looks Asian family run and neatly organized. When asking for suggestions or even recommendations amongst the mid size menu, the great cravings and great seafood is well within reach and can't go wrong Affordable reach, I should also mention. While poke isn't cheap, the restaurant provides great portions and doesn't slack on the rice or even the sauce to make the poke amazing! Amazing isn't even an understatement at this point especially too! We got our lucky hands on two things. The spicy salmon can be summed in two words; spicy and light. Thankfully, those words go hand in hand. While the spiciness doesn't overpower the salmon, the salmon itself has such a light and natural taste. Paired with green onions and rice, it makes any poke lover recognize each little taste pallete that it has to offer. I wish we had the chance to come earlier in the day during lunch because they probably would have still had the ceviche, but they ran out by the time we arrived. For the price, you are getting some great quality poke! The fish tasted very fresh and melts in your mouth, and the spicy mayo was creamy and flavorful. The portions are smaller than you would expect from the images you see online, but I think they are fair considering how the poke is relatively cheap. The poke is already prepared and packaged into containers, and the people at the counter just hand it over to you and you pay-- the entire process was very quick. Affordable and very good for the price! My boyfriend and I shared a shoyu poke, spicy salmon poke, spicy tuna roll, and one small + one medium rice, all of which amounted to only around $30! We both agreed that the spicy salmon poke and spicy tuna roll were delicious, but felt that the shoyu poke fell short. It is the truth that you can order a poke bowl for only $8, but don't expect it to come with any rice or toppings since the $8 will only cover your protein. Some rice can be ordered on the side for an additional $1.50, but it won't be the most fresh. Their fish quality was decent for the price, and their sauces were delicious. My favorite place to get poke and simple rolls! Kind over getting poke with all the extra stuff for a premium sf price .-. Basa got it real Hawaiian style & simple. I usually do their poke combo which comes with poke of your choice (spicy salmon, shoyu salmon, shoyu tuna), rice, seaweed salad, and a water bottle. I also typically order their 49er roll which is $11.50. The fish is fresh & doesn't have that fishy like taste or the dry texture like some of the poke/sushi spots I've tried. I've tried all flavors of the salmon and the spicy salmon poke has the most flavor and isn't super spicy. Shoyu is good as well, but it's just a simple shoyu flavor. 49er roll is exactly how I like it, perfect in size, not too much rice, and good ratio of sushi to lemon that's on top. Location is in the mission, so it's paid street parking. It's gotten more popular over time and sometimes there can be a wait. read more

After having this place bookmarked for so long, I finally made my way over on a Sunday morning. I came around noon and there wasn't a line but it got a bit busy afterward. No actual indoor seating, but theres chairs available to sit at while you wait for your food. Order took about 20ish minutes to be ready.
