Got the 3 Onigiri + drink combo; chose Taiwanese Pork, Pickled radishes, and Tuna, plus a HK Lemon Tea. My fave of the 3 was Taiwanese Pork. everything tasted fresh, yummy, and service was quick & kind. Recommend for getting something quick to bring to DP
They are known for their onigiris but they also offer drinks, rice plates, ice cream and floats. I got to try their beef onigiri and salmon onigiri. Unfortunately they sold out of the unagi. They come out still warm. It's the perfect snack. It's packaged well with instructions on how to open it. I would have liked more filling to rice though. Salmon was my favorite. Staffs were very kind.

Came across this spot while walking around Chinatown and so thankful we did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest lady who walked us through their menu, gave recommendations and also helped us to samples of their ice cream. And holy cow was everything so delicious! The fish balls I'm curry sauce were packed with flavor and made fresh, the onigiri are a great size and have a good amount of filling. Their icecream really stole the show though. She recommended two flavors: hojicha which is a roasted green tea flavor and their lychee. Both were refreshing and exquisite in their own way. It was hot out so I also got the honey chrysanthemum iced tea and it had a beautiful floral lightly sweet taste that quenched my thirst perfectly. If you're in the area please stop by! Their food and snacks are delicious and the staff is so incredibly friendly.
Really glad this place opened up in my neighborhood. Great spot when you want a snack and nothing too heavy to eat. I love the Crab Onigiri. Something I notice is the wait can be longer than expected, around 15 minutes because they make everything fresh. The wrapping can be tricky but once you understand how it works, it's super easy. The service has always been very kind.
Update: Iam so impressed with how this was handled. shortly after my first review, the management (Judy) reached out to me personally. they were genuinely concerned about the mistake and the potential allergy risk, which I really appreciated. They quickly cleared up a mix up with the order number and issued a full refund immediately. The onigiri and sushi bake were already hits with my daughter, so we'll definitely be returning soon. My son is still looking forward to trying that taiwanese minced pork bowl
I had to check this place out after finding out about them on instagram. Onigiri and other Taiwanese foods? Challenge accepted. I like that you can order the mystery onigiri and that the price point for all of their food is great. I'd love to go in-person but did delivery this time. The onigiri arrived with the rice still warm and fresh. The tea egg was amazing too. I'll definitely be eating more of their food in the future.
Chicken teriyaki: not overly sweet, nice and umami with a touch of ginger. Miso soup was the perfect pairing and get the combo for a good deal. They really nailed the flavors here, I'll be back to try more! One of the rare spots in SF to get a filling meal for $10.
Visited on a Saturday around 12:30pm, no wait, so was able to add my order to the kiosk quickly and easily. Food: Eel Onigiri - good, good amount of eel to rice, eel was tender, fatty with the nice sweet and savory unagi sauce, sushi rice was tender and perfectly cooked, this was individually wrapped with the peel away packaging that kept the nori sheets nice and crisp and applied to all the onigiri i ordered Tuna Onigiri - solid, tuna mayo was pretty standard, also good ratio of filling to sushi rice, wish there was a little bit more umami notes to this but a solid choice if you like tuna Crab Onigiri - good, crab meat was similar to the type you get in a California roll, finely shredded mixed with a touch of mayo, a little sweet and a little savory Taiwanese pork - good, ground pork was well seasoned, tasted a little sweet, with nice soy sauce notes and a touch of white pepper, good amount of filling to rice, this combo worked really well in the onigiri format Miso soup - good, generous amount of seaweed, and a few pieces of soft tofu, served nice and hot, not too salty with a pleasant miso flavor Service was excellent, they were running a special buy 4 onigiri get 1 free, I accidently split my order up and placed one for 3 pieces, and one for 1 piece, they added the soup complimentary to make up for it which the definitely didn't need but a great touch of hospitality. Food also was prepared right when i ordered and took maybe 5 minutes. Overall really enjoyed Do-re-mi, a great affordable onigiri spot in the Mission. Definitely worth a visit, would happily come back to pick up food for a picnic in Dolores Park or if I'm looking for a quick bite in the Mission. Space is small with counter seating for about 6 people, it's clean and tidy if you want to eat in.
Really cute spot for made-to-order onigiris! I came to grab a mid-afternoon snack to bring for friends and got the salmon, crab and Taiwanese pork onigiri. My favorite had to be the Taiwanese pork onigiri that was sweet and savory with a generous amount of ground pork. The salmon was good as well, such a classic and I wasn't sure about the crab as it was almost too creamy for my liking but if you're looking for more of a crab dip filling, it's nice and smooth with a sweeter flavor than the salmon. Ordering is easy via kiosk and our orders were ready quickly. Definitely a great lighter meal or snack that feels homemade and fresh.

A kind staff member also provided a complimentary cup of miso soup while I was eating here! Quite soothing miso soup. :) Chill bodega vibes with indoor stool seating.

Each has furikake mixed into the rice and a nice layer of meat throughout (unlike most places where the protein is just in the direct middle) -Taiwanese pork: sweet and savory flavors, my personal favorite -Garlic beef: has garlic chips that compliment the saucy beef -Salmon: a classic, always good Pretty fast service and theres a few counter seats to sit at.
The Mission District has been having lots of different types of stores come and go over the years. There are lots of restaurants along Valencia street which are here one day and gone the next. In between Valencia and Mission street on 19th street there is a place which took over the former Boba Guys location which serves drinks and makes hand made rice balls. It's music to my ears and it's called " Do- Re- Mi. Inside Do- Re- Mi there is a kiosk with a digital menu with items like Taiwanese Mince Pork Ricebowl, Hong Kong Style House Curry Fishballs, and Japanese style Sushi Bake. I had to try the Taiwanese Pork Onigiri. It was very tasty and savory. I then had to wash it down with the Berry Fruit tea which was a bit sweet but was refreshing and flavorful. I had to try the ice cream. I got a scoop of mango and vanilla which were delicious and hit the spot. Overall a good place to enjoy a dessert and some finger foods with some inside and outside seating. Do-Re -Mi hits the note and the "verse " without the need to "curse" it does it by offering refreshing drinks and hitting the spot when you "thirst" next time I am in the area if I crave some rice ball or rice bowl this is the place I go "first " The rice balls are handmade in the Mission so they "make "onigiri and a sushi "bake" and go on an ice cream "break" and the food sings to me like Do - Re - Mi , their restaurant "namesake"

Very cute little snack shop off of Valencia! They mainly have onigiri, rice bowls, snacks & teas. You order at the kiosk & then your food is freshly made. I just grabbed a tuna onigiri and I asked for spicy mayo. It was ready momentarily & it was warm & contained a generous portion of tuna. Such a yummy snack! They have indoor seating and a few pastel chairs outside. Reasonable prices, fast service & kind people - a great combo! Arigato! read more
I came here at the recommendation of a friend in the neighborhood, and honestly, my thoughts about the place so far are that the food and experience were average. Everything about the ordering process and the quality of the food itself was good but not great. There was no wow factor or anything that left me feeling extra motivated to return, but I also wouldn't be opposed if I were nearby and craving onigiri. There's a single kiosk in-store to order at, but you can also place an order with the person working the counter if it's not too busy. I wasn't sure what I wanted immediately, so I waited for one of my friends to finish before ordering. I added 1 unagi eel, 1 unagi onigiri, and 1 crab onigiri to my basket and checked out. I have absolutely no idea what's the difference between "unagi eel" and "unagi onigiri", and when I went to pick up my order, the staff member told me my order was two unagi and one crab. However, I was charged $4.50 for the unagi eel and $4.30 for the unagi onigiri, so go figure. I could not detect a difference between the two, and the price of each averaged out to $4.40, so it's whatever. I unwrapped one of the unagi onigiris to eat in-store as we waited for a Zoox to arrive. It was actually pretty difficult to extricate the seaweed and rice ball filling in one piece to consume together, which I presume is because the onigiris are each made-to-order and due to the freshness, the separate ingredients haven't had a chance to marinate and congeal together. As I had not eaten all day, I quickly devoured the onigiris before and after our short ride back to a café where some of our other friends were waiting. The onigiris were, as I mentioned before, pretty standard minus the fact they kind of fell apart. I would say if you like onigiris, then these will get the job done, but they're nothing exceptional, so keep your standards at baseline. read more

Let's start at the very beginning A very good place to start When you read, you begin with A-B-C When you sing, you begin with Do-Re-Mi (Do-Re-Mi) The first three notes just happen to be Do-Re-Mi (Do-Re-Mi) Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti... Oh dear... When it comes to new businesses, I'm not the early bird that catches the worm. No, I let other Yelpers, likely the younger, anxious ones, tell me if this snack shop would be worthwhile. This one received kudos for their onigiri (rice balls). While Taiwanese pork and chili pickled radish sounded enticing, I've been restrictive about my carb intake so I can fit into my pants. I'll try a rice ball or three sometime in the near-future. Meanwhile, on my virginal visit, I tried the $5 Hong Kong Lemon Tea (Photo 8). I found its light sweetness pleasantly evocative of the old-school coffee shops we discovered in Hong Kong last year. I came back a couple of weeks later and went for a $3.80 scoop of Mango Ice Cream, a tropically refreshing snack in the middle of the afternoon (Photo 6). There's limited counter seating for those not in grab-n-go mode. I took advantage because it provided a nice respite from the heat. I look forward to one of their rice bowls if I get over my carb phobia. Unagi eel is available after all. So-Do-La-Fa-Me-Do-Re. So-Do-La-Ti-Do-Re-Do! set my expectations high and that's on me fo shore. I ordered the salmon, pork, beef, crab and chicken teriyaki. went all out. Also tried the berry tea per recommendation of the reviews. I would pay slightly more like 4.50 if they added like 30% more filling. this is a true ball o rice if I ever saw one. the rice to filling ratio is just a bit too much rice for my preference. Fillings are basic. ground beef and ground pork. normal california roll crab I believe ? my rank: crab salmon pork chicken beef I like the way they are wrapped. the berry tea was a bit too sweet for me. The cute little cat drawing was really cute. The onigiris are comparable to a premade one from mitsuwa or the likes but made fresh and slightly less filling, but better tasting. I ordered on the Ipad wasn't very busy and got my order in 10 minutes ish. Nice grab and go for the park. not bad. I like better than onigilly. read more

Soft opening on 6/16/25, Do-Re-Mi is a new AZN snack shop taking over Steep (previously Boba Guys). Seems to be family owned and operated. Mainly a takeout spot but there's a few counter seats. M E N U Onigiri: Rice Balls ($3.50-$4.25), Street Snacks ($2.50-$4.80), Ice Cream (1 scoop-$3.80, 2 scoop-$5.80), and Teas ($4.80). No milk teas or boba but I hope they consider adding HK milk tea in the future. Teas come unsweetened but can be sweetened upon request. S N A C K S * Taiwanese Pork Onigiri ($3.80) * Chicken Teriyaki Onigiri ($3.80) Onigiri comes with nori that you peel to unwrap so it's fresh and crispy. The short grain rice was warm and well-seasoned with flecks of furikake. While both were delicious, my fav was the lu ruo, braised savory Taiwanese pork. I think the chicken teriyaki needed a touch more sauce. * Curry Fish Balls ($4.80) A popular HK street food, the bouncy fish balls are simmered in a rich, mildly spicy curry sauce. Came across this new shop that replaced Steep (and former Boba Guys location), so we stopped by to try them out. They sell Taiwanese inspired onigiri, with flavors such as Taiwanese Pork & Peppered Beef. They were super accommodating and was able to tell me which onigiris contained allergens for us to avoid due to allergies. We got the Taiwanese Pork and the Chicken Teriyaki and they were both so full of flavor. They also season the rice of the onigiri with furikake, so it was flavorful and not just plain rice, which I loved! The owner was also so sweet and offered us a free honey chrysanthemum tea when we were there when he found out we walked half an hour to get there. Will definitely be back for more! read more
After just happening to be walking by, Do-Re-Mi absolutely blew us out of the water! The honey and I ordered a taiwanese pork rice ball onigiri from the tablet at the front and we both wished we'd gotten more of them! I found the flavor to be wonderfully rich and perfect - almost like eating a rice bbq bao. So good. The business has limited inside seating with no outside seating, and it's already a popular spot so our food took a few minutes to come out because they make them to order. All in all, we adored Do-Re-Mi's onigiri and we will absolutely be back! read more
This place is a cute small restaurant mainly for to-go orders, but it also has some limited seating inside. This is not your typical onigiri spot, but rather it is a fusion with Taiwanese flavors. I ordered a garlic beef onigiri and a pork onigiri and they did not disappoint! I honestly got full off of the two onigiri and they were very flavorful. My favorite was the garlic beef because of the crunchy fried garlic bits. The staff was also super friendly and gave me a free miso soup on the side. I would definitely come back again for another quick bite. This is a great place to get food to-go and bring to your next picnic! read more

Do-Re-Mi soft opening now. My daughter suggested that I try this fun place for their green tea and lychee ice creams from Japan. We also ordered the triangle rice seaweed onigiri to tide us over until dinner. These conveniently packaged rice snacks are perfect for taking to the park or on-the-go. They're easy to open, just follow the simple 1-2-3 steps, no mess and no fuss. Do-Re-Mi offers a variety of fillings, and the rice was cooked to perfection. Do-Re-Mi just started their soft opening a few days ago and will have their grand opening on 6/26! I'm so happy I stumbled across them during my run. All of the staff members were so sweet and excited to talk about their offerings. They also gave me a sample of their honey chrysanthemum tea, which was incredibly delicious and refreshing. I ordered a Taiwanese Pork Onigiri, which I loved. It was the perfect afternoon snack--the pork was super flavorful, and the rice was well cooked. The price point was also super reasonable! I hope to be back to try their other filling options soon, as well as to see what their full menu offers (they mentioned that there would be more Taiwanese snacks and bowls). Overall, I'm super happy to have Do-Re-Mi as a new addition to the neighborhood! Walked by, while roaming around Valencia I decided to stop by and sample a few snacks. The Onigiri was freshly made onsite and tasty. The miso soup was refreshing, while the fish balls were acceptable. Overall, great staff and service. Good food, will definitely return and try out their other selections. read more
Fa-Soooooooo, I'm back as promised. La Ti Do not stop and go directly to the order screen in the shop to pick your snacks and drink! Warning. Read the instructions on the packaging on how to open the onigiri. Pull red strip and pull corners 2 & 3. Can I say ORIGAMI onigiri? Yes, I can. My boyfriend ripped right into his onigiri and made a mess. Mine was nice and neat... and the nori was oh so crispy fresh and yummy. Clever clever on how the onigiri is packaged. The artistry and packaging in itself is a fun experience. We had the Taiwan pork, chicken teriyaki and salmon onigiri. My boyfriend also ordered the curry fish balls. Really cute spot that I walked into. I saw they had a variety of rice balls and teas. I tried their honey chrysanthemum tea and it had a unique refreshing flavor. I also, ordered their kimchi and salmon rice balls. I am so happy to find this place. They have really cute decor and service was friendly and quick. 7/20/25 Kind of a plus/minus situation. I passed by this place on my way to my car. Curious thinking it was a boba spot, I went in so I could snag one for my drive home. Just as I walked in it seemed like they were about to close, I looked at the door and saw the hours so I proceeded to leave. The workers(owners?) welcomed me back in and offered to take my order. As a courtesy I didn't want to take my time and proceeded to order something quickly. I ended up with the spicy sushi bake. My friend makes a very good sushi bake so I was hoping this would measure up, especially for the price. Anyways, the plus minus here is taste vs portion vs ratios. I haven't had a ton of sushi bakes but for me, it had the vibes of a salmon skin roll; the taste was pretty good overall. It contained spicy mayo, salmon, crab and tobiko all over rice. It had some nice textural elements. There was something a little crunchy, that just really hit the spot. It had a nice touch of heat but nothing overpowering. The big problem was that it was $13.80 before tax and tip. It came in a large relatively heavy container, which were the first red flags, and which meant it would be full of rice. I was correct. The container was very full of rice, which may seem nice, but topped with very little of the other sushi bake elements. It was such a small amount of salmon and crab that it made sense why the price seemed too good to be true. So you basically pay for a giant bowl of rice. If they are trying to be a budget friendly option for people in the area, I can understand that. When it comes to food in general though, I generally would rather just pay more for a balanced, tasty, well proportioned dish. read more
My office is one block away from Do-Re-Mi. Ever since they opened, I have enjoyed getting my lunch here. I have enjoyed their onigiri, rice boxes, drinks. Their food is really tasty and feels like comfort food. The staff is really nice. They have some cute colorful chairs and tables in front of their store to sit and relax. The last few times I picked up lunch they have given me a complimentary miso soup. I would definitely give this place a try if you are in the area =) read more

I got the Taiwanese minced pork onigiri, the garlic beef onigiri, a berry iced tea, and some miso soup... and literally everything was so tasty. The onigiri came in those little self-wrapping sleeves like they do in Japanese convenience stores, which was a cute touch. The seaweed stayed crispy and I wish I would've bought one to go. The pork was juicy and flavorful, the garlic beef had me in a chokehold, and the iced tea was super refreshing -- not too sweet, just right. Miso soup did its job, warm and cozy like a lil side hug. Service wise, it was just a kiosk but the food was brought to me at least lol. I'll definitely be back to try one of the rice bowls!! read more

Do-Re-Mi is my favorite onigiri shop! When I asked the owner which onigiri was the best, she told me that everyone has different favorites depending on their taste and that every flavor is delicious. All of their onigiri are made in a homemade style with great attention to quality. At first, I thought she was just trying to get me to buy more onigiri, but in the end, I decided to order all of their recommended flavors! I also ordered drinks. The owner recommended the Chrysanthemum Tea because it's caffeine-free and great for kids. I also ordered the Thai Tea and Hong Kong Lemon Tea, and they were all delicious. Many of my friends asked where I ordered everything from, which was very different from my kids' previous birthday parties. I was so happy that everyone loved the food and drinks. I picked up my order at 10:00 AM, and all of the onigiri were still warm and freshly made. I first discovered Do-Re-Mi on Instagram and decided to order catering for my 7-year-old son's birthday party at the park. It was a huge hit! I received so many compliments from my friends, and everyone loved the onigiri. They were the perfect food for both kids and adults. The owner was incredibly kind and thoughtful. They labeled all of the onigiri for us, which made everything so much easier. The kids had so much fun figuring out how to unwrap them, and some of my guests chose the mystery onigiri. I ordered a couple of mystery onigiri, and every single one was different and absolutely delicious! Based on the feedback from the other parents, they were amazing--but I didn't even get a chance to try one because they were gone within minutes! The onigiri made my son's birthday party extra special and memorable. Highly recommend Do-Re-Mi for catering, parties, or just a tasty meal. We'll definitely be ordering again! read more

By chance, I wandered by this shop before dinner time and stopped to get some onigiri and a drink because I was hungry and the prices looked quite cheap. tried the chicken teriyaki and Taiwanese pork - they were SO flavorful and tasty! Of all of the onigiri places I've tried in the Bay Area, these were by far the most delicious and they ranged from $3.80 up, which is incredible value. The melon cream soda float was also amazing, perfect for a hot day. They were really generous with the amount of ice cream, which was a nice surprise since I'm used to tiny scoops in floats. As a bonus, I got a cute drawing on my cup that I literally want tattooed on me because it's that sweet. The other customers also got doodles on their cups and it's a small but wonderful thing to do. One of the workers also came by and offered me a sample of their curry fishball, which was great. All-around a really fantastic surprise stop that was delightful in every way! read more

Do-Re-Mi is officially singing its way into the hearts (and bellies) of the Mission. This quaint little spot may be small in size, but it delivers HUGE flavor. The kind that catches you off guard in the best way. I tried their Spicy Sushi Bake, and finally, someone in the city is doing this right. The rice was perfectly fluffy, layered with spicy salmon, crab, and tobiko. It was rich, creamy, savory, and just the right amount of heat. I was scraping the bowl for every last bite. Then came the Tuna Onigiri. Simple, clean, packed with flavor. Like a perfectly wrapped little umami bomb. I'm already eyeing the other options on the menu. Even the miso soup was a standout. Seaweed, tofu, and green onions came together in the most comforting way. Nothing watered down or bland here. Service was top tier. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment I walked in. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the food. This place may still be under the radar. But not for long. Do-Re-Mi is about to become everyone's favorite new harmony in the Mission. read more
