New Thai spot in Divisadero which was pretty decent but expensive. Casual indoor space that can fit any type of group (large round tables in the middle). They don't have your typical Thai dishes but there is pad Thai; it is just named differently. I enjoyed the salad the most and I would probably pass on the corn fritters and braised meat next time. Service was normal and food came out fast. Somewhat hard to find parking.

Wowow I wasn't sure what to expect because I hadn't heard of this place before my friend suggested it, but I'm SO glad to have given it a try! The food was delicious and flavorful - the perfect place to celebrate my friend's engagement :) We had a reservation and were seated upon arrival, and service was quick throughout the meal. They also had some very interesting decor that was fun examine while waiting for my ride home. Would come back again!

My fav! Kua Kling Kon Samui

Song Wat Thai -- A Great Thai Food Experience Went to Song Wat Thai in San Francisco with friends on Tuesday night and had such a great meal! We tried Miang Kum, Tod Mun Khao Pod, Kolae Beef Skewers, and Yum Duck with Thai Taco. The beef skewers were full of spices and delicious. The Yum Duck was already flavorful, but eating it with the green leaf from the Miang Kum made it even better! For the mains, I really enjoyed the Sweet Blue Crab with coconut, peanuts, shallots, and lemongrass. The Massaman Nuea was also a favorite, dipping the roti into the rich curry was SO good! The Sator Goong was tasty and not too strong with the shrimp paste. But my favorite was definitely the Kua Kling Kon Samui . The Southern Thai flavors were bold, spicy, and full of flavor. I had to cool down with my favorite Thai iced tea, perfect combination! For dessert, we had the Mango Sticky Rice and the Sticky Rice & Taro with Coconut Ice Cream was AMAZING! The service was great too. Our servers were very nice, calm, and always smiling, even though they were a little busy. I also really loved the atmosphere and decor. It's beautiful, classic, and stylish, with details that reminded me of Song Wat Road in Bangkok. It really gave me the feeling of being back in Thailand. Definitely recommend Song Wat if you love flavorful Thai food and want to experience a little taste of Thailand in San Francisco!

Pad see ew

My boyfriend and I were excited to try Song Wat since it opened. We have a big mangrove kitchen-sized hole in our heart ever since it closed down. Our waitress was really kind, and it seemed like it was just her holding it down for Saturday lunch shift. The menu is small and creative and unlike many thai restaurants in SF. For instance, they don't even offer a pad thai. There are some ingredients I don't usually see like stinky beans. We weren't too hungry so we ordered a pad see ew with chicken and the yum duck salad with thai taco. The duck salad was interesting because it came with essentially a wafer like shell to eat with the salad. The shell was like a waffle cone, a little too sweet, and not thing enough to be a taco shell. It was a bit hard to eat, but it was easier when we broke it up into chip piece and scooped the salad that way. I liked how the salad came with pomelo. The flavors were a bit too strong, strong in acidity and savoriness. But I did think it was creative. For the pad see ew, this also felt different from what I usually see because they sprinkled white pepper powder on top. I really enjoy white pepper powder, so we liked this dish. But, I can see how the flavors can be a bit too strong for other people. Ultimately I think it's a cool place to try out and try food that might be new to you. It was a bit pricey for what we ended up getting, so I'm not sure how often we would visit.

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. This spot just opened and I'm pretty sure I sprinted here like I was training for the Olympics. Had to even add the Yelp page myself because there was NO way I was gatekeeping this. From the second you walk in, it hits you. The decor is loud in the best way possible. Colors, details, little touches everywhere. It's the kind of place where you're still noticing new things halfway through your meal. But let's be real... you're not here just to look around. The food? Yeah... this the one. Every bite took me straight back to Thailand without the 16 hour flight, jet lag, or arguing with airline seat recline etiquette. The flavors are bold, unapologetic, and actually taste authentic not watered down "tourist Thai." You can tell whoever is behind the kitchen knows exactly what they're doing and isn't cutting corners. This isn't just good food. This is the kind of place that makes you pause mid bite, look at the person you came with, and go "nah this is crazy." If you're even thinking about trying it, stop thinking. Just go.

Pad see ew (wouldn't order again-too salty) and the 5 spice pork (would order again).

We waited about 10 mins on a Wednesday at 7:30 for a table. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Love the decor and revamp of the space , we have seen many Thai restaurants in this space but this one strikes out on its own with a cute retro yet modern design. Love the personalized cups, neon sign and wall artwork. We love consistent marketing. The pad see ew had a nice texture but was far too salty. The Moo paloe (stewed 5 spices pork) was good, sweet and had a deep rich flavor. The crab salad was nice and perfect serving size.

This is a lovely restaurant! Warm ambiance and very pleasant staff members. The food was good and fresh. I loved the chicken wings but heads up, I thought they were quite spicy. The kua mee kati was tasty and a little sweet, although I felt like the added chicken could have used a little more flavor. The pad see ew with pork belly was great and flavorful. We enjoyed our experience here!

Prawns tom yum, chicken pad see ew, smoked duck salad

Ordered takeout from here on a Wednesday evening. We got tom yum soup with prawns, chicken pad see ew, and the smoked duck salad. Everything was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at the number (5) and size of prawns (huge) in the tom yum soup; it had a nice kick to it but wasn't too strong. Smoked duck salad was light and refreshing; flavors went really well together with the black sesame waffle taco shells. Chicken pad see ew is exactly what you expect; a little sweet and savory at the same time. Prices are pretty typical for SF and portion sizes were appropriate. The restaurant itself is super cute on the inside; will need to try eating there next time! Recommend giving them a try if you're craving Thai food.

Loved the ambience and vibe at Song Wat -- great spot for a night out. Service was excellent too, very attentive throughout the meal. I'm not usually a beer drinker, but the mango sticky rice Thai craft beer (not in pictures) was a pleasant surprise and I'd order it again. The beef skewers were the standout dish of the night, easily the best part of the meal. My one gripe was that the food ran a bit too salty for my taste. Overall it was a really enjoyable experience, and I'd be open to giving it another try in a few months to see if my take on the food changes. Taking away one star for the sodium level, but everything else was great.

I only managed one picture before my kid finished off the dessert!

Just got back from Thailand a month ago, so I drove into town to test out the Thai food at Song Wat. It was amazing! The vibe, lighting, and atmosphere are spot on, and the Southern-style menu is as real as it gets. Even on a super busy Friday, the service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. The food feels like a proper home-cooked meal in Thailand with all the fresh herbs and rich flavors, tastes like I'm right back in Thailand. I'm 100% driving back out here again soon. (Was enjoying the food and vibe so much that I completely forgot to take photos!)

I had high hopes for Song Wat, but it seems like a flip of Mangrove with the same issues (refreshed interior design though). Small portions, a bit bland, and just not great overall.

Delicious Thai food with authentic flavors Every dishes we ordered was flavorful, fresh and well-presented.The chicken wings and shrimp dishes (Sator Goong) were standouts. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommend!

new thai restaurant on divis and page! the vibes are pretty cool, a mesh between traditional street food and modern bar. the menu isn't huge but has some unique/ more local items. we tried the kua mee kati and pad see ew, both were too sweet for our liking but the portions were generous

The Fleet week and SF Tech Week Edition:…read more San Francisco has to be the best city in America. The diversity and the neighborhoods in SF make America better. Born and Raised in SF and growing up in the Mission you make friends with every nationality. You will see all kinds of restaurants serving food from all seven continents. There is one restaurants in the back streets of the Mission District which has lots of characters and it's serves delicious Thai cuisine. In this area you only use to see people wearing suits only on a Sunday but now you see people wearing suits on a weekday walking around. It's located on Florida ( not the state) street and it's called Farmhouse Kitchen Thai cuisine. On a Fleet Week and SF Tech week stroll I landed on Florida ( not the state) street. When it comes to Thai food I always like trying dishes with seafood. Most restaurants by the water serve seafood that can be bland and stale in SF. Some try to squeeze the life out of a lemon and lime and it still tastes more sour. One thing you can do to change the taste is to put some different flavor on it. Farmhouse Kitchen Thai cuisine offers a seafood plate called the Run Juan Seafood Sizzling and it's exactly the seafood answer for Don Juan . The Run Juan was a bit spicy with the spicy curry paste and jalapeños with and it came with an assortment of different seafood which included shrimp, scallops, calamari, and Manila clams. It wasn't salty like some in SF. I also had the Tom Kha soup which was not too sour like some in SF. I was looking for the purple rice but they had the blue rice which is good to have for Fleet week in honor of the Blue Angels. I washed all down with a purple colored Anchan Limenade. Some things in the Mission has changed and those days are "gone"but one thing won't change is the love of the Mission and for San Francisco by "Don Juan" because the Mission in the city still has it going "on" so go the Farmhouse and enjoy a Thai seafood dish called "Run Juan" Walking the streets of the Mission at night back in the days you had to be "cautious" because the ones who got targeted were the "softest" the Farmhouse is located on the Florida street where the "loft is"and lots of people demand for Run Juan but I am not currently running for "office"

I came on Sunday around 5:30, and was seated immediately. The steady influx/outflux of customers never made it seem too quiet, even though only half the restaurant was utilized. If you decide to come here, I recommend avoiding the Thai staples like Pad Thai and Tom Yum, and ordering at least 1 dish from the "From the Chef" section. This place feels more authentic with more unique offerings compared to your regular run of the mill Thai place (they are mostly government sponsored anyways). I ordered a Papaya salad (Som Tum Poo Pla), a Shrimp Paste Fried Rice, and Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly. For starters, the Papaya salad with a bigger price tag is not for the faint of heart. There is a load of fish sauce, and combined with anchovies, makes for an...acquired dish. I was told by my server that it's pretty authentic, but it's a little too authentic and reminds me of Natto or Beijing tofu juice. The Shrimp Paste Fried rice is a must order; the spread is very instagram worthy and gives me vague paella vibes in terms that it's shareable and good for parties 2-4. I did not see this dish at other Thai restaurants I've been to, so I'd consider pretty unique. Just be mindful that it's on the sweeter side, and the chilis on the side are very, very spicy, so allocate accordingly. The Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly was by far the star of the show. The skin was super crispy, and the pork itself was super tender, melt in your mouth feeling. The flavors and seasonings were perfect, with just a hint of basil to elevate the entire taste. A true adventure for the taste buds, and a must order as a shareable. Service was super friendly, and my waiter answered all my questions with a smile, and even gave us his recommendations since we wanted to stray away from the basic thai food orders. This place is a must come to if you're looking for true authentic Thai food from a chef that has pride in his work. I can't wait to come back to try their other unique dishes!

Good noodle texture and flavor. - Saap Wings--salty and yummy. We also individually ordered Hot ginger tea, Coconut Water, and Thai iced tea. Would be back! Papaya salad was fresh and came with lettuce leaves as well. A solid app to split with a small group. I didn't try the drunken noodles as the group wanted beef in it, but I heard it was good. We decided to get tofu as the protein for the pad see ew, and it definitely hit the spot. However, I'd say the choo chee salmon was the winner. The curry sauce was super flavorful and had hints of coconut. Salmon was cooked well, and it came with some veggies that soaked up the curry. We didn't ask for rice on the side since we already had 2 carb dishes, but it would pair very nicely with white rice. Service was good. They checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The reservation system was a bit odd with no designated time slots, but rather you put in a time yourself online. The system turned out to not work very well as I originally booked a spot for 2 at 11am and then had to call to move it to 11:40am (weird time). Turns out when we got there, my name or a close spelling of it was on the list for 12:40pm. This wasn't a big deal to me since it's easy to mishear on the phone so we moved on from that. The restaurant was decently booked and we sat inside. Now for what my partner and I ordered! Unfortunately nothing called to me strongly so I went with the very basic choice of 2 eggs plate with ciabatta toast and rainbow potatoes. I added in chicken sausage for $3. 5/10: The toast was unbuttered and honestly tasted stale. The potatoes were nice and crispy, but unsalted and quite plain. The eggs were nice, I got mine scrambled. Sausages were okay, I think I actually ended up with the pork sausages rather than chicken. My plate was $26 and I can confidently say it is not worth close to that unfortunately. Brussel Florentine Benedict 6/10: My partner was intrigued by the ton yum hollandaise sauce. There was a hint of it which was nice. Benedicts were okay, nothing special. Coconut oat matcha 8/10: On the sweeter side, but enjoyable! I liked the toasted coconut pieces on top and thought it was a nice drink. Premium matcha wise, I don't agree necessarily, but hey it was an enjoyable drink. Drip coffee 0/10: My partner loves a drip coffee and not in a snobby way. From diner coffee to honestly plain old regular slightly brunt coffee, thats her jam. This coffee was just burnt. Not sure what happened but it was $5 for a completely bitter cup of burnt coffee. Not great. Fun side note: As we were ordering the table next to us called attention to their dish as their waffle was completely undercooked and tasted bitter. The wait staff was apologetic about it, but seemed to either not understand or insist it was "too sweet" not undercooked or bitter. The table was very polite about it so honestly it was not the best look for the restaurant. It was simply feedback and I don't believe it was taken very well. Regardless, just a fun note to throw in! We will not be back unfortunately. There are many lovely brunch spots and restaurants around the city and sadly I don't think this one is worth a try just because of the cost for the quality, but I always tell myself its always worth to try in case you do think differently!

We had: papaya salad, pad see ew, beef stew noodles soup, mango shrimp salad, roti with curry dipping, and a seafood salad, which I forgot to take a photo and didn't realize that until we were almost done eating. Service was good. Absolutely a must try if you're in San Francisco.

So that sucked. 1st let's admire my Thai Ice Tea. This was so adorable & I felt bad drowning him in my tea ha 2nd - my co-worker said this was the 2nd best Pad Thai he's ever had. They grill the tofu so it's got some crunch to it. Which totally elevates the Pad Thai. My Panang Curry with duck was excellent! Decent amount of duck just a few bones. Great little kick on the spice BUT not so spicy that it makes you regret life choices! Delicious will order again. The only thing I'd complain about is that my rice wasn't sticky. I prefer stickier rice - but this rice is perfect if you don't have a preference. I don't want fully unwashed mush but I like a little more starch. My other co-worker ordered Roasted duck over rice - he said it was tasty & would order again. We did order chicken satay and the chicken had good flavor BUT the peanut sauce was just ok. I'd order it again to see if it was just an off day for the sauce. It's a small restaurant & filled quickly at lunch. Many Asians eating there which told me it would be good. Restrooms were slippery so be careful but clean. Overall I would come again!

I already had high expectations judging from the pictures of this place, but Hed verythai still…read moremanaged to blow my mind! I ordered the Set 3 Chicken. The mushroom soup was the best thai soup I've ever had in my life! It has the sourness of tom yang soup but with a hint of sweetness and creaminess that balances it out so well! The tender, juicy chicken curry was flavored to perfection, the salad and butternut squash were refreshing, and the three grains complemented the meal so nicely. I was stuffed by the end, but not uncomfortably so. Prices were pretty fair; regular sets are $20-something and the seasonal sets are in the 30's. I really appreciated the amazing service we got too. We showed up at 6 pm on a Wednesday night with no reservations for 3 people, but the hostess said she could give us a table for around an hour, before the reserving party arrives, if we were ok with it. They were also very flexible about switching out one of the items in the sets we didn't like as much. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable and 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone! The most well-done Thai food I've ever had!

The papaya salad was spicy and sour, making it a refreshing palate cleanser before the main dishes. The pork belly had great flavor and came in a generous portion. I also tried the chicken curry, which paired beautifully with the rice. One of my favorite parts was the three different types of rice--I mixed them together with the dishes, which made each bite a little more interesting. The coconut mushroom soup was amazing, with a rich and comforting flavor. I was surprisingly impressed by the eggplant side dish as well. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant's texture, but it was cooked so well that I actually enjoyed it, and the flavorful sauce helped even more. To finish, the mango coconut pudding was light and refreshing. You could really taste the freshness of the mango, and it wasn't overly sweet--a perfect ending to the meal. Many tables to choose from on a Saturday. The restaurant itself is hidden away in an alleyway so not a lot of foot traffic, it's like a hole in the wall restaurant that you have to find.
