Such a comforting spot, and one of the only asian spots in the neighborhood. I've grabbed the ginger chicken jook and it's classic comfort food. The chicken is nice and tender, the ginger aromatic and soothing, and the fried donut on the side the perfect dipper. Grabbed the thai chopped salad with steak and it was the perfect work lunch. The dressing was light and refreshing and the steak was well cooked and easy to eat. My team loves grabbing lunch here they have such a great variety of rice bowls, noodles, soup, salad, and sandwiches. There's something for everyone!

Loved the wooly pig! Stumbled upon this place after work and was surprised to see all the options. I initially thought this was just a sandwich spot but saw they had soups, salads, and breakfast options as well. I loved the spicy aioli paired with the sweet potato fries. The vermicelli bowl was also huge! It's cute and cozy inside so be prepared to sit close to everyone. All the workers were super nice as well. I also was able to try the Vietnamese rice Krispy treat and I would come back again just to get that, it wasn't too overly sweet. Definitely will be coming back in the future!

    Taiwanese Pork Cutlet Sandwich

Stoped by on a rainy day and this was a great lunch spot! It does get busy because there's a lot of working people that walk over for lunch, so it may take a little bit longer for the food to come out during rush hour. I got the Taiwanese pork cutlet sandwich with the side salad. The size was hefty! The pork cutlet was hot. crunchy, and seasoned like classic East Asian salt and pepper seasoning. I was just how I thought it would taste but better! There's also a generous amount of shredduce to keep the sandwich from getting too heavy and warranting a food coma. Would love to come back and try the other dishes too especially the noodle soups

This little cafe keeps things simple in the best way. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and the food finds you. The space is cozy with limited seating, but it's clean, the bathroom is well-kept, and there's a self-serve water station that keeps things low-maintenance. Service was friendly, and the food came out impressively fast. What we tried: - Braised beef stew: Tender, well-seasoned beef with carrots and daikon soaking up all that rich, savory broth. No potatoes though. Flavor-wise, it delivered. Portion-wise, I wish it gave a little more. - Taiwanese pork cutlet rice plate: This one hit the spot. Juicy cutlet with a crispy, flavorful crust, plus all the right supporting cast: pickled mustard greens, a soy sauce egg, and minced pork over rice. Comfort food done right. - Hojicha panna cotta: House-made, though the hojicha tea flavor was on the milder side. Light, smooth, and not too sweet. Prices lean high for the portion sizes, but the food is solid and satisfying. I also love that they incorporate Asian flavors into their breakfast and sandwiches. Didn't try those this time, but I'll be back for them and the shrimp chips everyone raves about.

Would not order the katsu curry, the katsu breading was not good as you can see... and the curry was very watery. Maybe the viet/Chinese dishes are better. I don't mind trying their jook next. The viet coffee was okay, would prefer it to be stronger and it already was pre-made. The bahmi veg$16 was also not bad but I've seen other spots with 10-12$, maybe it's just the area but service was quick. It got packed around 5/6pm

A small shop with friendly staff! Not too much seating so the restaurant was busy but I would recommend this place to eat and catch up with friends. There are a lot of sandwich and entree options to choose from! 5/5 - Fried Chicken Banh Mi - Great first choice for a meal here! The fried chicken was crunchy and carried a good flavor/texture profile with the rest of the ingredients. Loved the pickled vegetables and the banh mi was fresh and crunchy. 4/5 - Sweet Potato Fries - Perfectly cooked fries with a good crunch/softness ratio. I thought they were a bit oversalted but otherwise a great side dish to order with your sandwich!

Didn't have to brave the cold for Wooly Pigs at Outside Lands but instead popped into their Dogpatch location and got that marinaded crispy Taiwanese Pork Cutlet two ways. Sandwiched between toasted brioche bun with iceberg lettuce and pickle and a side salad and in a rice plate with brown sugar minced pork over steamed rice, pickled mustard green and a soy sauce egg. Personally, I love the balance in the sandwich with the crunch of the iceberg and pickle and having a side salad.

So yummy! I always order the ginger chicken jook when i want something hearty and warm. This will heal your hangover or sickness. I'm always looking for places that sell jook, and this is the one place I have enjoyed it every single time. It comes with fried Chinese donut so you can dip in the jook. I always order through delivery app because the restaurant is far away from where i live.

5 Five Spice Chicken Banh Mi. SOO good!

One of my favourite banh mi(s) in the city! The bread is perfect and the helpings of meat are GENEROUS! I almost wish there was less meat and more veg, but all very tasty. I typically do a pick up order, but the service is fast and the turn around time is quick. A great sandwich to grab before you hit the park or catch a game nearby! The 5 spice chicken and the pork banh mi are definitely the ones to try.

I have been several times and each item I have ordered has been AMAZING! Their curry udon with steak is 10/10, their Szechuan chicken is also 10/10. Their portions are huge for the price point. Their service is absolutely outstanding. After Covid I felt that customer service died but they have reminded me it's alive and well! Their dining area is great for if you want to dine by yourself which I like. But they have plenty of seating!

Ever since Wooly Pig ran away to Dogpatch, it's just been a little out of sight, out of mind for me, but color me surprised to actually recognize how close it is to Thrive City! I went with the namesake Wooly Pig sandwich and found it delicious! The pulled pork was tender and the flavor was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I also really enjoyed the side of shrimp chips which is very unique when it comes to sides. I decided to pair it with a lychee black tea and....yeah, skip this one. There was a single lychee in the bottom, but there was nary a hint of lychee flavor in the tea otherwise. Boyfriend went with the jook which was packed with chicken and ginger flavor. I would recommend this! He also added Becky's bagel which tasted of peak health. It...wasn't quite for me lol. All in all, it was a wonderful reunion with Wooly Pig. It was one of my favorite places back in the day to grab food and walk across the street to Golden Gate Park, but hey, if the new version means eating here before a Chase event? I can get behind it!

Great find for a nice casual, Asian fusion meal! Many casual Asian spots have disappointed me in the past but the flavors here were great and the signature curry udon soup is a must try! I got the curry udon with grilled pork and it was the perfect combination of creamy, slightly spicy curry soup with the nice chewy thick udon and the tender charred sliced pork on top. There's a good amount of protein and udon to make it a full meal. I also appreciate that there's gailan (chinese broccoli) as well to add some veggies to the bowl. Really delicious meal and super convenient if you're near Chase Center or the Medical Campus.

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.
