The rice is so tasty - it's the chicken broth rice type (NOT vegetarian). And I liked the garnishes that came with it. There is quite a bit of good seasoning on it, including sesame seeds, dill, etc. so you actually don't really need a sauce in my opinion. I got the chimichurri and it was more sauce-based than the traditional oil-base, which I really liked. I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts and it was a good portion with aioli. We came by for a quick lunch after a long walk around Golden Gate Park and the panhandle. This was my first time trying RT Rotisserie but I had heard good things as it's the casual spot associated with Rich Table. I got the chicken salad and shared a side of fried sunchokes with a friend. Loved the sunchokes which were a pretty unique find and tasted like a mix of turnip and potato. Really flavorful and lighter than the usual potato side. The chicken salad was good as well but I found the white meat chicken to be a bit dry. I did really enjoy the sesame dressing and the pickled red onions were a great addition to brighten up the salad. I tried the pork belly as well (my friend got the rice bowl with pork belly) and it was delicious. Super crunchy pork belly chunks, it reminded me of chicharron pieces. Not the healthiest choice but worth the extra calories! Ordering is easy via the kiosk and we got our food quickly. There's bottles of water out and overall a nice spot for a casual meal. read more

I came here for lunch with my colleagues as it was close by the office, I've had eaten RT before when I had used Uber Eats and remembered that the food was quite delicious, so I recommended it. We walked over, walked in and it's pretty self-serve, order from the counter or have a seat and scan the QR code for you to look through the menu and the food will come to you. Once I ordered, I grabbed a few water bottles and cups, again self-serve but always in stock, and a few minutes later, our food came out. My coworkers had a fried chicken sandwich, which they said was delicious, and another had a half chicken and said it was super juicy. I went with my normal order that I got before and had a chicken bowl with rice, the food was just as I remembered it, tender, flavorful, and the chimichurri sauce on top, perfecto! That's when I stopped going. I gave them another shot earlier this year, and for a moment it seemed like they had fixed it. Portions were back. I thought, "Okay, maybe they listened." Then came this latest experience and it completely killed any remaining trust I had. They handed me a box of Brussels sprouts that were completely burned. Not slightly overdone but CHARRED. Inedible. And someone in that kitchen looked at it and said, "Yeah, send it out." I didn't even notice until I got back to my office. I tried calling but no answer. Not surprising, because they basically NEVER pick up the phone. And this isn't a one-off. The first time I ordered takeout from this location and pick up was super fast and easy at the counter, although there was a big line of DoorDash delivery drivers who were also waiting. They brought water over as I was waiting for my friends to join and instructed me to place my order via QR code. Around 12:15, the place got packed and every table was full! The staff are nice and help instruct folks where to sit and give estimated wait times for in house dining. I ordered the RTR salad with added chicken, umami fries, and the garlic aïoli. The RTR salad is extremely well dressed, so if you're someone who isn't super into dressing, maybe ask for it on the side. Otherwise, the ingredients are super fresh and the chicken is so flavorful and delicious. There is a bitter ingredient that is not my favorite in the salad, but it's still really good. Honestly, for the value proposition of this half chicken, I was not very impressed by RT Rotisserie. Doesn't genuinely feel like half a chicken as I usually would normally have leftovers, but I felt like I was shorted with the amount of protein and also lack of taste and flavor. I am so thankful that this place is in the Hayes Valley neighborhood. We need more places like it. I've been coming here since they opened. Me and my colleagues are regulars here and I've tried just about everything on the menu. On my most recent visit I got my usual: a half chicken with a side of brussel sprouts and fat rice. Their rotisserie chicken is always cooked to perfection here with crispy skin and very tender meat. My favorite sauces with the chicken are the honey mustard and the BBQ. The sides are big here, so plan to share them. If you eat a whole side of the fat rice and Brussels by yourself then you will be incredibly full. The Brussel sprouts may be my favorite in Hayes Valley, but they are quite heavy! The rice is so flavorful and I like to put a lot of their hot sauce it! On this last visit, my wife got the fried chicken sandwich and the roasted cauliflower. The fried chicken was delicious with a hot honey drizzled over it. She didn't love how much cabbage they put on the sandwich but she just took a lot of it off. The roast cauliflower, in many ways, is like an entree unto itself. It's covered in a beet tahini sauce that is delicious! The service here is always very good. It's fast, efficient and attentive. You serve yourself water. They also have great drinks available! A little late to this review, but better late than never. I visited RT Rotisserie last Wednesday while I was sick and overall was a good choice. Located in a more cold and less populated part of SF, this little resturant sat smack dab in front of a busy intersection. I found parking up the street a little bit and walked down to it. When I had first arrived I noticed how homey and welcoming the place felt to combat the surroundings outside. I was greeted by the staff as I walked in, very nice people. I ended up ordering the chicken soup since I wanted to combat my cold and I would say it helped very nicely. The bowl featured shredded chicken, rice, mixed greens and seeds in a nice hot broth and a side of onions and a lemon. The broth in my opinion was the perfect thing I needed at that moment considering the circumstances stated before and was also seasoned and delicious. The chicken was also very good, cooked well and complimented the broth very well. The rice added a texture I usually don't get to taste in a traditional chicken soup, but in a positive way. It added a warm and filling feeling to the bowl. The seeds also made it more nutritious and didn't taste bad as well. I feel like my only criticism came from the greens. The greens overall worked very well with the bowl, but I just personally felt there were way too many. At times I felt it drowned or muted the other ingredients in the bowl. I also ended up not using the onions mostly because I'm usually not a fan of onions, but also I felt like there was too many veggies within the bowl already. To take away from the experience though, RT Rotisserie's Chicken Soup is the perfect soup for this cold and harsh weather in SF. I may be hesitant myself to order the soup again as there was just too many greens in the bowl for my liking at times, but overall it is very healthy and perfect for people dieting or trying to eat healthy. I would recommend this place to any chicken enthusiast and healthy eaters as this resturant's chicken is very tasty; it is the staple for their restaurant brand.
