    Peachy salad with extra chicken
    Trish T.

MIXT in the Sunset is one of our favorite spots! We come here about once a week and absolutely love it. There are so many healthy choices, and my favorite is the Peachy Salad with extra chicken. It's HUGE--honestly big enough to share! The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and there are so many delicious salad options to choose from. I also love their rewards/card program. Definitely one of our go-to places in the Sunset!

I went for dinner and there wasn't a line. I made my own salad and the server was patient with all the ingredients I chose. The serving was generous and I ended up having leftovers, which still tasted good the next day. I also had a quiet dining experience despite being in a busy part of the city.

My first experience at a Mixt & it was SO delicious! Service was so quick & staff were very friendly. Great location in Inner Sunset. Ingredients are fresh! So many salad options & you can even make your own salad. I got the Jing Chili Crisp salad and substituted the chicken for tofu - great flavor, especially loved the tofu! Loved the dressing as well and overall texture. My friend got the Peachy Salad and she enjoyed as well - particularly the chicken. Portion sizes are very fair along with the pricing. Ambiance is modern aesthetic in there. Only downside is the high ceilings make the environment very loud, sometimes making it hard to have conversations. Love this place & will be back!

Tried the Beetnik salad. Fresh & yummy. Decent portion. Good amount of dressing with options for light, medium, & heavy. Order your food, take it, pay it, & find a seat. Communal cafeteria type seating. Self clean up.

As with other MIXT locations, the Inner Sunset restaurant is much more than just another fast casual salad joint with the option to build your own. Their dressings are terrific and the dishes are thoughtfully composed, not just a slapdash amalgam of buzzy ingredients. That said, my major note is that the amount of greens in the box (kale in my case) is simply absurd. It is a textbook case of shrinkflation wherein the container appears full but only the top quarter has anything besides kale. The greens are fresh (you could actually make a second meal with them), but they throw the ratios way out whack. If you didn't remove some of it, the dressing would be spread way too thin and you'd be hunting for flavor amid the roughage. You can see in my two photos the "before" and "after" shots: the first immediately after opening the box and the second after having taken out about half the kale but none of the other ingredients. The overall volume drops precipitously. After rejiggering the ratios, it is a wonderful meal, but these containers ought to have a better balance. Right now, you could make 75% of the salad for $1 at the grocery. That said, the Parmesan Peppercorn dressing is fire.

This place is a must! Friendly staff and very clean restaurant. Salads are so yummy!!

    Dirty plastic found in salad!

They do not wash the greens! I found a large piece of dirty irrigation hose in my salad! When you pay $20 for a salad, you expect it to be delicious. I hope management changes policy and they start washing and drying the greens before serving to customers.

First time here and it was delicious and fresh. Relatively healthy eating out after the California Academy of Sciences.

So excited to have a new healthy addition in the neighborhood -- yay Mixt! This place is exactly what we needed: fresh, nourishing, and beautifully done. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. You could tell the team really put effort into making the store launch feel special. There was great energy, lots of smiles, and even some little launch perks that made it fun to check out. The salads? Delicious. You can tell they meticulously weigh every ingredient -- nothing felt overdone or skimped on. Everything looked super fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully presented. Bonus points for the beautiful space. It's clean, modern, and inviting -- a place you actually want to sit and enjoy your meal, not just grab and go.

Didn't think Greens could be better than the previous visits but the goal post keeps moving!…read more Where do I start? Made reservations on Thursday evening via OpenTable for Friday and requested to sit by the window. In spite of the short notice, our party of two were given a table by the windows with stunning views of the waterfront and docked boats though it was a foggy evening. Claire was our server. She was extraordinary yet down to earth. She knew the seasonal menu as if the chef preparing the foods and made the most amazing recommendations. If she is your server, make sure you ask her what she recommends. She is attentive in a stealthy yet unobtrusive way and acutely aware of diners' preferences and requests while providing updates and keeping us apprised of options, ensuring a seamless service. Her descriptions of the heat level and flavors were spot on. Stephanie was the manager and was so nice to check in, despite the large, bustling private dinner party in the adjacent room. Ordered: Drinks: Glass of Pinot and chilled Gewürztraminer from Navarro Vineyards with a few bottles of sparkling water Starters: Bread basket with seeded lavash, corn bread, slices of soft dinner roll with honey miso butter and the grilled eggplant with focaccia First Course: Melon salad subbed with goat cheese instead of the blue cheese and a cup of the corn/tomatillo soup Main Course: Sergio's signature tamale with mole, the mushroom Wellington, fresh shell pasta, and fried cauliflower Dessert: Peanut butter choc mousse with peanut brittle, peach cardamom clafoutis, and a double shot of Saint Frank's espresso Finished with glasses of Van Hunk's alcohol-free sparkling wine Food: -Locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, innovative preparations that begged you to become a vegetarian, delivered at the right temps (chilled vs. hot), and created in a way that surpassed traditional/conventional methods; vegetarian food that was robust and flavorful but not cheesy or oily as classic veggie dishes tend to be -Cauliflower, mushroom Wellington, and the fresh pasta are a must; excellent crust to the Wellington with a meatiness to the mushrooms, the porcini mushrooms in the pasta were excellently prepared and not mushy/wet but yet not dried out with a satisfying smoothness to the sauce that you couldn't stop eating shell after shell -Peanut butter choc mousse was simple but not cloying; the clafoutis--amazing combo of cardamom and peaches -The best seeded lavash ever with a crunch-ety snap with an addictive miso honey butter -The nuts accompanying the dishes were excellently toasted so not stale in texture--evidence of attention to even the smallest detail. Service: The caliber of service, superb quality of dishes, attention to detail was indeed a unique experience for me given Napa Valley as my former backyard. Ambience: Not "high falutin" yet upscale and a place you could enjoy with a business partner or as a family with kids. I can't say enough good things about the most extraordinary service received tonight--unparalleled to say the least. Of note, deepest appreciation for the complimentary dessert and glasses of non-alcoholic sparkling wine to round out the night--you even recognized nobody in our party had alcohol... We hope to visit again--soon. Thank you both, Claire and Stephanie, for the indelible impression of how elevated a vegetarian experience can be with unrivaled and incomparable hospitality that was wholly diner-focused. T'was an unforgettable memory to say the least.

My friend and I started with a bread basket, which, for $9, should've included at least two pieces of everything, not one, but was tasty. We skipped a "first course" and went straight to the main course. I had the Mesquite Grilled Jerk Tofu (which, while it did not include the sides described on the menu, was nonetheless delicious. My friend had the Wild Mushroom Wellington, which also had at least one subbed side but which she says was quite good. We skipped dessert as we were so full from our dinner. We each enjoyed glasses of wine (from a surprisingly short list of wines by the glass). Is Greens worth $50+ per person? From the perspective of a long-time vegetarian, it's unusual to find such imaginative, delicious plant-based dishes, so while Greens is too expensive to make it a regular go-to, it's a top-of-list special occasion restaurant. I hope it isn't 20-odd years before I return. Be sure to ask for a table next to the water, especially if you're there near sunset.

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We shared one breakfast platter, and it was more than enough for us. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. The biggest disappointment was the Turkish coffee. I had been telling my husband how amazing authentic Turkish coffee can be because I had previously visited a Turkish café in San Mateo where the coffee was served in a traditional pot alongside Turkish delights, allowing you to refill your small cup. I expected something similar here. Instead, we each received only a tiny cup for around $5, which felt more like ordering a small espresso. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't live up to our expectations. The service was another area that could be improved. We arrived early and were ready to order, but we waited quite a while before anyone came to our table. During that time, I noticed another table that had arrived after us was greeted, had their order taken, and thus received their food before we were served. That was a little frustrating. One small inconvenience is that there is only one restroom for the restaurant. Despite those issues, the food was excellent, and that's what matters most. We would absolutely come back for the Turkish breakfast because it was truly delicious. Overall, I'd give this place 4 out of 5 stars. With a little improvement in service and a more memorable Turkish coffee experience, it would easily be a 5-star restaurant.

Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect because it looked pretty run down. I wasn't expecting fine-dining, but the place didn't have a welcome feel. We were the first table in when they opened, but unfortunately the service felt a bit cold from the start. Our server seemed disengaged, which set a less welcoming tone for the meal. The food was just okay for us. Our kids enjoyed their spring rolls and "chicken" nuggets, which were an easy win. However, the entrees we ordered were quite salty and didn't have much depth of flavor. Afterwards, we realized they don't use garlic or onion, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time since it really affects the flavor profile. If we had known that, we likely would have chosen a different spot. Overall, it wasn't quite what we were expecting given the menu and reviews. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out for us in a city with so many great food options.

Bought my tix online and waited for the day to arrive. I included the offspring and +1 for the event. Got there early and found parking basically in front, a miracle in SF. Doors opened at 5:02 and we were greeted by the chef and staff all dressed in green like the Jolly Giant of commercial fame. The tables were decorated with flowers sprouting from funny shaped radish and turnip "pots". Did I mention that the dinners have been called whimsical......... So it begins. We got two juice pairings and two alcohol pairings and both were really interesting. The local Chardonnay on lees and the martini were winners in the alcohol category whereas celery ginger kombucha and citrus drink were rulers of the nonalcoholic category. Some refills were provided, yeah! First course - Miso celeriac soup with foraged herbs, walnut dill bread with kumquat jelly and chive butter. Rich and tasty soup with great bread though two smaller pieces would have been better than one large to enjoy the spreads. Second course - Lacto-fermented beets, roasted carrot, little jellies with spicy carrot salad and hummus. Everything was unique with interesting flavors and consistencies. Loved the little jellies made with agar and the carrot salad, Wow! Third course - Mushroom and beet pub pie over purple cauliflower béchamel. Amazingly flaky vegan puff pastry, don't know how they did that without butter. Filling was earthy and savory complemented well by the béchamel. Dessert - a selection of citrus based seasonal treats including chocolate, little cake balls, candied kumquats and aquafaba. Not just great for being vegan but actually a triumph. First time trying aquafaba and it really tasted like a light, neutral whipped cream. Big fan of the candied kumquats too. They even stuck a candle in the birthday girl's bowl and led the obligatory serenade. Overall a fun experience that reflects Alex Lauritzen's passion for vegetable based cuisine, taking it fully to the fine dining level but doing it with joy and whimsy. Staff and service were attentive. This was the eighth mushroom with dinners occurring once a month. They may also do pop up a La carte service but I'm not sure. Check the Insta @the mushroomsf for deets. We left pleasantly full so no post-Michelin pizza
