Great place for a quick brunch! The sriracha bacon was amazing! Overall. The place is clean, service is friendly but will say the pricing was a bit much. I get it though because it's San Francisco! Definitely worth stopping if you need a quick meal and aren't sure what to get. There are tons of safe menu options here.

I was pretty impressed when I got take-out here early on in the pandemic. It took way too long for me to come back and try the food again. I ordered the tom yum noodle soup but with crispy chicken this time. I definitely prefer the shrimp so that's a lessons learned for me. The food was good though. I was tempted to try their chicken and waffles. Looks like they use pandan. Thankfully I got to take a bite out of my wife's plate.

Was glad to have tried this spot out after their grand reopening! Some of the standouts--banana french toast (with caramelized banana) Chicken and waffles (so juicy and the waffle was so fluffy) and their Butterfly lychee fizz was so refreshing!

Chicken salad, French toast,

Solid experience here, food is beautifully plated and tasted delicious. I went for breakfast on a Sunday and it was fairly empty a few tables seated. I got the chicken salad and loved it. Didn't stand out to me or blow me away but a great breakfast nonetheless. Came at a decent speed and left feeling full but not stuffed. The ambiance could be better. Pretty plain interior, vibes and had a cleaning smell when I first walked in but overall would come again.

Cute vietnamese fusion brunch restaurant in the middle of chinatown! It's a very spacious spot with with plenty of tables. Ordered the fried chicken and pandan waffles and the shrimp and eggs benedict. The benedict was good and was the first time I've seen shrimp on an eggs benedict but the potatoes were really good. The fried chicken was perfect, it was fried so that the skin was super thin and light and crunchy and the meat was really juicy. You could taste the pandan in the waffle which is pretty rare in a lot of places that have pandan or ube flavored things. The waffle was also nice and chewy!! I would get this again for sure. Overall, a very unexpected restaurant which should get more business!! Highly recommend the chicken and waffles (also saw some tables get the dalgona iced coffee which looked really good too)

After our brunch plans fell through because the place we made a res at was now permanently closed, I searched for something nearby and this place came up! So glad it did too cause what a nice little gem! I didn't get to try everything pictured but will share what the others said. Here, your eyes definitely eat first haha. Crispy veggies rolls: These are eggrolls filled with noodles, taro, mushroom, and veggies. Great app option for vegetarians. Comes with a homemade sweet and sour dipping sauce. Crispy chicken fried rice: My dish! I thought I was getting a breakfast dish but saw this and had to try. Overall, I did like it but I thought the chicken could use less batter. I want to taste more of the chicken and not the crispy bits. The fried rice was surprisingly flavorful though. Such a filling dish though! Mimosa: There was more juice than brut but it was only $8! Fried chicken & pandan waffle: Heard it was tasty! My husband really enjoyed this dish. Latte: Not mine but heard it was good! Also came in a fairly large cup. Thai tea french toast: Heard it was delicious and not overly sweet. Comes with fresh fruit and a thai tea sauce. Pancakes: Heard they were good and there's also fresh fruit on the side. Overall, I'm definitely coming back! Would love to try more breakfast items and some of the Thai food as well.

WOW. This place deserves 5 stars and then some. My friend and I decided last minute to meet in the city after we saw that it would be 100+ degrees where we originally had planned to meet. So we did a quick search of restaurants and saw Spork easily at the top of SF brunch spots on Yelp. Now, I have my suspicions when yelping in the city cause there are some overhyped reviews. But then, the Thai Tea French Toast caught my eye and while my past self was trying to break free from another possible regrettable choice, I was already persuading my companion to join me here for Saturday brunch. With her OK, I nervously saw if any reservations are available. To my surprise, ALL times were open. This was a sign, I said to myself, that it's a trap. But I had already confirmed plans with the friend and decided to take the chance. But boy, it is only all good news from here on: we walked into a cozy space with only a couple tables seated, greeted by a friendly staff, easy ordering, fast and stellar service, AMAZING Thai Tea French Toast (yumyum), and despite how busy it got, no pressure to "kick us out" until we noticed and left. I also recommend the Vietnamese Dalgona Coffee - it actually tastes like coffee, unlike some Dalgona stuff out there which to me, tastes like sweet milk.

Spork Restaurant was a great find on the edge of SF Chinatown and across from China Live on upper Broadway. I was a bit skeptical at first as I was thinking it was one of those Hong Kong-style breakfast spot with the basic: eggs, toast, sausage, bacon that would make me want to hit the snooze button. This place really is a hidden gem amongst the dim sum places and Chinese shops. Spork offers a simple menu of Asian-fusion breakfast with options of fried chicken, shrimp, shaken beef, noodles and mimosas. Definitely something I can get excited about. Fried Chicken with Pandan Waffles I made sure to tell my friend not to expect Southern-fried chicken and more Asian-style with a light coating and crispy. He wasn't sure what pandan should taste like but found the waffle lightly sweet and really enjoyed this dish. Accompanied with a mustard, sweet chili, and syrup. - 4/5 Shrimp Benedict Lots of shrimp, with a light curry hollandaise sauce accompanied with some, crispy potatoes. She thought the sauce was good and everything was yummy 4/5 Bo Luc Lac - Shaken Beef Tender, cubed beef sauteed with soy sauce, onions, garlic and sugar (though a bit sweet for me) that was topped with an over-easy egg, 2 garlic, parmesan baguette slices, side salad with those crispy potatoes...nothing added other than salt which was a nice accompaniment to the dish *** 4 - 4.5 stars *** for this first visit. Food was delicious and service friendly, attentive and welcoming. Pricing reasonable (average: $16/dish) and would visit again when in the area. Note: Place seems to attract a lot of tourists as it looks like they're staying at the Royal Pacific Motor Inn nearby. :| Limited street parking but inexpensive parking about 3-4 blocks away at St Mary's Square Garage. $6 all day on the weekends! Shhhh... ;)

I woke up late today, and was craving a hearty breakfast or brunch. I was worried that we would have to brave long lines, and given how tired we were, I wasn't looking forward to it. Lo and behold, I found Spork through Yelp, and was able to snag a reservation an hour later. It definitely lives up to all of the reviews before mine, and all the dishes we ordered hit the spot. I really enjoyed the presentation as well -- the hibiscus flowers are a nice touch visually. The Thai Tea French Toast was my favorite. I've never had French toast like this before. My friends had the eggs Benedict which looked delicious. I recommend coming here for a fuss free weekend brunch.

Is this one of SF's best kept secrets for a brunch spot or what?! Located in Chinatown, this Asian fusion restaurant has a colorful menu filled with dishes that emulate East-West delicacies with a twist - for example, French toast topped with a Thai tea flavored syrup, or a pandan waffle (a light vanilla flavor with a hint of coconut). If fusion eats don't tickle your taste buds, they also have standard Thai dishes that can satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. The service here is really great (our waiter remembered us after a single visit!) and do a good job of checking in, refilling water, and taking away empty dishes without intruding on the meal. I sometimes shy away from brunch locations because the food feels too heavy and the vibe of certain places can feel too formal or even pretentious. You won't get that at Spork! The decor of the restaurant is charming without being overly curated, and the fact that it has a hole-in-the-wall vibe while being a pretty spacious restaurant only adds to the comfort and down-to-earth feel. You get the best of both worlds, and at very affordable prices! I can't say enough good things about this place, and every friend I've brought here has said that they would love to come back. Extensive menu with lots of options (Soup? Noodles? Pancakes? Eggs? This place has got them all!), amazing service, and rarely any wait time for even large parties - it's no wonder I want to come back again and again.

Good food and great service! Upon arrival, the staff there was so accommodating and helpful. The restaurant itself felt very homey and cozy. I'm usually afraid of restaurants being so overdone, but this restaurant felt really local and friendly. As for the food, my tables favorites are what's pictured! Our number one would have to be the pandan waffle. It's chewy, not too sweet and didn't feel heavy at all! Our next favorite would have to be bo luc lac. It's perfect for anyone who prefers a savory breakfast over a sweet one. Lastly is the Thai tea French toast! Another light meal, but extremely delicious. Definitely a must try when in china town!

Decided to try it out with my girlfriend before we left SF and honestly I'm so glad we did. Honestly I have never been so satisfied from food in so long and guys I am not exaggerating one bit. The food is FREAKING AMAZING!!!! What we decided to get was the shrimp Benedict , Bo luc lac , Tom yum , fried chicken , salmon curry , Thai tea waffles. First of all the portions are huge and for the price so cheap. Honestly the dishes are worth in the $25-30 range but it was only $15-17 range . They are a new restaurant and are amazing people . Definitely Try this place out !

Such a cute place for a hangout and so affordable too! Good: - Really huge fan of the Tom yum noodle soup and the pumpkin curry! So filling too - Nice plant aesthetic Bad: - Pandan waffle was okay - it didn't have a lot of flavor sadly and was a little bland - Food came out a little slowly - Way more causal ambiance, took a while to get our table when we had a reservation Overall enjoyed this place and could come back given how cheap it is!

The portion size is great for the price of $15. Despite being a busy tourist destination, the cafe is very efficient with ordering and food service. They are really on top of it! There's lots of outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. There are free water cups for diners. There is a bathroom upstairs. Along with yummy food, they also have many other pastries, including cutely shaped sourdoughs.

When the dish landed, I was initially impressed. But after the first bite, it felt a bit like the Wizard of Oz: impressive presentation hiding something less substantial underneath. Their lasagna is a sort of deconstructionist take on the classic dish. The noodles are cooked and layered almost naked between barely any pockets of filling. There were a few tidbits of meat, maybe sauce and no cheese within the layers themselves. The noodles are then baked, cut, plated, and topped with what I'd guess was about a 6 oz ladle of their bolognese, finished with finely pre-grated parmesan. The first bite was overwhelmingly pasta-forward. It took me a moment to understand how the dish had been assembled against my expectations. Once I cut into it and spread everything out, it became clear this wasn't the kind of lasagna I think of when ordering lasagna. It didn't check the familiar boxes - a rich ragù, maybe a creamy béchamel, or the sharp, salty depth of cheeses layered throughout. The dish lacked the complexity and savory comfort I was craving and expecting. Another miss was the homemade flatbread (which I went back and paid cash for, so it wasn't included in the total). Traditional Italian flatbread is a yeast-free bread made with flour, olive oil or lard, salt, and water or milk, then rolled thin and cooked until crisp yet chewy. This version tasted like flour, lard, and water. It wasn't crisp or chewy. As soon as I started chewing, it turned into an unappetizing doughy mass in my mouth. After the first quarter-piece, I didn't eat anymore. As for everything else, I arrived around 7:15 on a Saturday night, and the inside was packed with a small line to the door. The outdoor tables weren't full, but it was summer in San Francisco, more people were jockeying for seats inside than out. But I wasn't too concerned and I got there around 7, so all that is on me. There were a few specials written on a chalkboard, and the cashier was awesome while explaining those. They were incredibly patient. I apologized for holding up the line, and in a very Italian way, they assured me it was my right to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. That interaction honestly stood out as one of the better parts of the experience. I grabbed a table just as one opened up, helped myself to water a few times from the station, and my food arrived in about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. There's been a bit of internal conflict with this review. I usually don't like judging a restaurant based on a single dish, especially a restaurant with so many positive reviews. But I also don't spend as much time in that part of the city anymore, and there are simply too many other places I still want to try. Unfortunately, while there was some good-looking food on other tables, if a restaurant's claim of lasagna as its signature dish doesn't hold up, the first visit just didn't do enough to pull me back for a second chance.
