We ordered the angry prawns, a roti appetizer, a curry, and a few nonalcoholic drinks. While everything was yummy, prices were expectedly high given prime location and decor. Party of 20 right at dinner opening of 5pm. Reservations were made and all things started off great. We arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant opened and as we got closer to 5:00pm, at least a dozen people started waiting outside to enter. We were admitted first to be seated as our reserved table was already set up. Aesthetics inside were thought through with the bar centrally located. Our main server was Miau and she was attentive and delightful from start to finish. We ordered drinks and started off with quite a few appetizer platters for the table. We noticed another server (Tasha) almost immediately that didn't 'ask' us but very aggressively told us (mainly adults) to gather the menu's (before we even ordered entrees) and put it in the center of the table so she can collect them. Once appetizers and drinks were half consumed, Miau came by to take our entree orders while we continued to socialize, mingle and catch up. Beautifully decorated entree plates started flowing and this is when the other assisting server Tasha started bringing dishes out. With music playing in the background and chatter among other tables, we can barely hear her calling out entrees from one end of the table to the other table. I made eye contact and told her we couldn't hear her and she just dropped the dish on the table and walked away. Thankfully it was our nephew's entree close by. Tasha then came by with (2) salmon dishes which one was requested spicy and when we went to clarify with our brother if he ordered spicy, she rolled her eyes dramatically and sighed loudly like we were being rude and inconvenient. We were completely appalled! The restaurant wasn't even packed! There were a few other tables dining but still a few empty tables around. We ended up asking Miau who the other server was since she was rude to us and Miau told us she was the manager. :O Tasha's attitude matches how the women's restroom looks! Honestly all the food from apps, mains tasted all mediocre at best but it does come out presented well. Drinks were good and at going rates of $15/per or so. This establishment is centrally located facing the Ferry building, it has a great location. Parking garage made things simple but they had an event today so all parking was a flat $35! The (2) star rating is for the business overall. I would give (5) stars for Miau (our main server) and for the aesthetics of the restaurant which showcases a modern beautiful restaurant and location is perfect which makes sense for the prices being charged. However, the level of service from the person you have chosen to represent your establishment as the manager (Tasha) ruined this milestone birthday for our beloved sister and family, Unfortunately, as a family of 17 adults and 3 tween/teenagers were extremely disappointed and would not be returning. San Francisco is a known destination with so many restaurant options that we will gladly choose to spend our $1,838.00 (invoice with 20% gratuity) elsewhere and not recommend your establishment. read more

5/09/26 I don't normally write reviews but this place gave me a horrible experience service wise. I came with my family to celebrate both Mother's Day and my Aunt's birthday. At first everything was fine, service was a little slow but it was tolerable. When it came time to order there were a few different waitresses who came to serve us, the one I noticed the most was Jessica. Gosh, Jessica was extremely rude toward me, and my family. When she brought out the platters of skewers and meat, everyone at the table was still semi-looking at their menu. She came over and said "can everyone move their menus now?" And I apologized and said that I was sorry, but she responded saying "all you had to do was listen tata". Like oh my gosh, she was extremely unnecessary with her comments, and was extremely rude. Later during our experience, she came back with another meal, which was my cousins meal. She was standing right in front of him, and she asked whose food it was. He responded it's mine, and she didn't notice, but he spoke up, and she was like "oh" and dropped the food, rather than setting it down respectfully. Another event that occurred was when my cousin was trying to help Jessica set the plates down, and when she put it down, she said "ugh" and rolled her eyes. I don't know how someone can be so disrespectful to customers, and genuinely try to treat people with distain. The food that was here is very mediocre, you can go to someone's garage and they would probably have better food at a better price. I am extremely disappointed in my experience here, and I hope others have a better experience here. If I could give this place a review of zero stars I would. I have been wanting to check out this spot for awhile. I love Thai food and this is a great location at the Embarcadero center. We tried a few dishes and enjoyed: Beef wasabi rolls- I like that the beef was the roll. No breading or rice needed. Wasabi had a good little kick. Pad see you: spelling through me off a little but the noodles were delicious. A little more broccoli would have been nice but the flavors were great. Crying tiger steak- beautiful plating and I was impressed by the flavor as well as the portion of the salad. That salad wasn't messing around! The rice was also yummy. Thai-tini: this is not quite the name of the drink I had but it was that iced tea inspired. The drink had good flavors as well as presentation. I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. Seems a little odd. I've been here four times now. Actually every time I come to SF for work, this is their place to go. Each time the service has been great and the food also tastes good. Usually, we order everything family style so we can try all the items. The papaya salad is my favorite, refreshing and it's got a great kick to it as well. We also always get the Dungeness crab omelette. This one I feel like it's just OK for me. I do like the chunks of crab in it though. The calamari is huge. I'm shocked by the size, and it's always very tasty. We've gotten the Seabass, the smoked duck, usually a tom-tom soup, and a bunch of other items. I can't even remember. Great flavors. We also get the desserts as well. And our favorite is the banana and ice cream as well as the mango sticky rice. You really can't go wrong. I feel like they offer a great variety of Thai food. SYOY! read more

Came here for HH and it was just fine. The drinks are good but food is pretty mediocre. Calamari was very tough and rubbery, we couldn't finish it. The sauce it was served with was like a honey it was so sticky and didn't compliment the dish. Fries on HH were the best part. The Gyoza was ok but could have used more seasoning. Painkiller and mules were prepared very well. Nice location overlooking ferry building and embarcadero plaza. We were immediately sat outside for HH which was nice. I can't say I'd make it a point to return for the food. Grab some Happy Hour drinks, sit outside on a nice evening and you'll have a nice time. read more

Beautiful restaurant with bright colors and a lovely floral decor. It's really spacious and has plenty of seating which was perfect for the lunch rush since it filled up pretty quickly. The menu is extensive and the service was great. Frank was attentive and very helpful. Wait I lowkey don't want to write this review because they're going to get soooo busy. I was looking for light appetizers and saw that osha was nearby. Been to the other location years ago and it's always a hit. Was pleasantly surprised when we went on a weekend and it was happy all day Saturday and Sunday. Monday - Friday 5-7 pm happy hour as well. It's so close to the ferry building and very walkable. Ordered the angel wings ($9) , fried calamari ($9) and herbal pork belly. $(12) there's $1.50 oysters too but had so much over the past month so opted out. I did bookmark this place as an oyster options whenever I'm back in the area though. I loved the sauce on the wings and the fried calamari was good. The pork belly was a dry rub type and a bit spicy for me which I didn't prefer but was enjoyable. I just can't handle spicy and I think I just enjoy pork belly in soy or something. So just an opinion, it was good but not my preference. Bathrooms were clean and there's a lot of space for parties/events or big groups. Came here for the first time and i absolutely loved this place. Location is nice with lots of places to visit nearby. Obviously in a busy area of San Francisco so parking, transportation and traffic are a hassle but the views and location are still great. The restaurant itself is clean with a nice ambiance. Cute decor. We were a large party of over 15 people and they were able to accommodate us without a problem. Their food was amazing. Tasty, such great flavors and provided many dishes that were both common to Thai food, and also unique to this restaurant. Everything we ate had great flavor! Understandably the prices matched the quality and location of the restaurant. Staff was really great. Worked hard, stayed in top of our large table. Friendly to say the least. Amazing happy hour deal! They have happy hour on select drinks and food items Monday thru Friday from 5-7PM and all day Saturday and Sunday. We ended up getting drinks, splitting a happy hour platter, and ordering some drunken noodles from the entree: plenty of food for the three of us! The happy hour platter included oysters, calamari, chicken wings, and fries. Beautiful lush ambiance and we came during the holiday season, so it was all decorated for the holidays. I haven't been here since the pandemic began. I was glad that I visited Osha Thai recently. The quality of the food and the service were still good. The food that my party ordered were as follows: 1) Starter: Salmon roll (3.5/5) the portion of salmon is decent, the taste is a little bland but feels healthy when I ate it. :) 2) Starter: Angel wings (4.5/5) I love the robust taste plus the crunchiness of the wings. The sauce is perfectly done. I enjoy this dish a lot. 3) Entree: Tom Yum Soup noodle (4.5/5) was tasty with decent portion of shrimp, fish balls, minced pork and noodles. I haven't had Tom Yum soup for a while. Glad that I ordered this dish. 4) Entree: Duck fried noodle (4/5) was good but not as good compared with the Tom Yum soup noodle. I enjoyed the noodle with the sauce. The duck meat portion is good too. Service is good here. The interior decor was pretty. Our seating area was comfortable and away from the crowd that allows my party had a good talk. Only down side was the food here are pricey. KA-POW BOOM When it comes to cuisines I'm familiar with I like to try new items even though they appear as I have had those dishes before as you never know you might get surprised by the taste. That was evident when I went for a company lunch at this location of Osha Thai. The location was about a 10-minute walk from my work. At Thai restaurants I've eaten pad thai, panang curry, and pad see ew. So I wanted to a new item I've never ate before especially if I am not paying for it. For my beverage I ordered lychee iced tea. On the menu one of the sections was "Street Eat", which is rice plate dishes. One of the rice plates that sounded intriguing was pork belly. For my entree I ordered the ka pow pork belly. There were several appetizers ordered like thai samosas, crispy vegetable rolls, and corn fritters. I am not a fan of samosas as I find them dense. The crispy vegetable rolls served Osha Thai were a disappointment as they were slightly soggy. The corn fritters were by far the best of the appetizers. I like ordering different rice plates from Asian restaurants such as tapsilog from a Filipino restaurant or donburi from a Japanese restaurant. What about the ka pow pork belly from this Thai restaurant? I love pork belly however if it not cooked well the fat can be too heavy. When the ka pow pork belly was served I noticed the caramelization. As I took a bite of the pork belly there was a slight firmness on the fat. The caramelization resulted in sweet taste because if the fat was burnt there would be a bitter taste. You can never go wrong with a sunny-side egg on top of a dish such as the one on the ka pow pork belly. The lychee iced tea was a refreshing beverage to counteract the pork belly. Overall I had nice, filling company lunch at Osha Thai. Since this location of Osha Thai is close to my work I can see myself eating here again trying new Thai dishes I never had before. read more

Came here for an early weekday dinner and the place was nearly empty, but wow interior is so gorgeous! I got the Drunken Noodle with Tofu (Mild spicy) and it was delicious. Definitely on the pricier side but has great presentation and is a decent size, so I was able to bring home some leftovers (not enough for a whole other serving). It also came with a side of sauce that had a kick to it. I recently learned that they serve brunch all day and their photos online look gorgeous, so I'd consider coming back for a nice occassion. Beautiful space nearby the Ferry Building area (closer to the square where the statue is). The inside is pretty spacious and it tends to be busy. The food, however, is pretty mid. I came here on a Friday night and got both a red curry and green curry, and it took a looong time to get served (like over 30 minutes). The curries were quite lukewarm which wasn't that great and I wish the meat were more tender too. Think it's overall expensive too for the portion size (there actually wasn't much stuff in the curry despite the bowl looking big). I liked the platha/roti they served the green curry with though! Good food, service and ambiance. It seemed that they overcharged on the tax because they added in the mandatory gratuity charge when calculating the sales tax. The table was five people so they automatically included a gratuity of 18%. I had to do some research afterwards to see if it's allowed by state or local and it seems like they can do it that way. The restaurant did offer to remove the gratuity and then we could tip what we wanted but it was fine. So just know that if there is a mandatory gratuity due to size of party, that the sales tax will be based on subtotal plus gratuity rather than subtotal alone. Regarding food, the prik nam pla needed more prik (chilis). Perhaps I should have asked my dish (Basil chicken) to be spicier as they do medium spice by default but their medium spice is fairly tame - probably due to a lot of customers can't handle spicy. Food could be more flavorable. I would give the food 3.5 stars. Also food is pricey here but that's not a surprise given it's San Francisco, where overhead including labor is very high. read more

The interior has a really elegant vibe with pink floral decor throughout the restaurant, candlelit tables, and a very polished atmosphere. It definitely feels like a great spot for a date night or dinner with friends or coworkers. We started with a few appetizers and drinks during happy hour. Upon entering Osha Thai, I was already impressed. The space is visually appealing--well decorated, very pretty, and definitely sets the mood. I came for weekend brunch, and the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable. They have a solid brunch menu along with a good selection of drinks. I ordered the Thai roti banana, which was okay--nicely presented with decent flavor, but nothing particularly memorable. What did absolutely stand out was the steak and eggs. That dish was incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. The steak was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, but arguably, the real star was the fried rice--it was so flavorful and absolutely amazing. Every bite was rich, savory, and really elevated the entire dish. The drinks were also really good. The Thai Tea-Tini was a standout--super flavorful and so enjoyable to drink. Service was great as well. My boyfriend accidentally blew on his drink and some dust flew off, and the staff cleaned it up immediately without us even having to ask. I'm always down for some Thai Food. This is a very cute restaurant with ample seating. To be honest, their service was lacking and the food came out pretty slow. However, the food was delicious. I ordered the calamari and boat noodles. Calamari had a perfect crunch and cooked really well. The sauce was tangy and had a small kick. The boat noodles were not overly sweet like some places. It had a ton of flavor and the portion size was just right. This is definitely one of the top places for boat noodles. All it needed was just some spice, but they have a spice rack you can request so I just added dried red pepper to it and it was perfect! For my drink I ordered the dilemma. I like how the chili pepper looks like a slug! Haha. Anyways, the drink itself wasn't too sweet. Has a kick from the Tajin but this was a very good and balanced cocktail. Ate lunch here on a weekday around 1:30 pm with a friend! We walked into the middle of their lunch rush, but the manager seated us immediately. It has a beautiful interior, clean tables and cutlery, and lots of life in the atmosphere from the kitchen to the dining room. My friend and I both ordered rice based dishes. I got the pork belly fried rice, and our dishes took about 15 minutes to arrive... We were both wondering when our order was complete, and our waitress reassured twice about our food. The ambiance is nice and plateware feels different and more grand than regular eating- maybe because the dishes are all raised. There's a fair amount of vegetarian dishes here so it's a great choice for a mixed group. Thai Samosa - tasted like a mix of curry and traditional samosa filling. A little sweet, not my favorite but unique. I finally got around to trying this place. I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the pork belly dish. It was super flavorful and I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the pad Thai and I had a bite of it and it was very basic. It wasn't spicy at all, but maybe we should've asked for it to be extra spicy. I was able to get a reservation with one day's notice here for 5 people at 5:45pm on Thursday, December 11. It was very hard to get a reservation anywhere at the last minute for this night; so many restaurants were fully booked. They were insanely busy with multiple giant office holiday parties; we got in around 5:50pm, a line formed behind us at the host table, and no one was even able to help us and seat us for about 10-15 minutes. Service was slow, at one point I spilled my drink and we all used up our napkins cleaning it up with the help of a server who had brought our food, but she never brought replacement napkins. When we finally were able to get her attention to ask for napkins, extra serving spoons, and an extra set of plates for a colleague who joined us late, she just told us to ask our server, and would not even help us find our server. She also didn't come back to wipe the table with a cloth so the table remained sticky for our entire meal. When you pass by this spot, the outside really captures your attention. So to finally stop by and eat here was nice! We started with appetizers and got the calamari. When it arrived, we were all surprised that it was the whole octopus versus calamari rings that places normally give you lol. The sauce it came with was good too! For my meal, I ordered the Thai Boat Noodle Soup with rice noodles, and a Thai tea for my drink. I'm basic, but I love beef noodle soup. The spice wasn't hot (a little kick) so was able to enjoy lol. Came here for dinner and had a great experience. We ordered the Royal Platter and everything was super flavorful and delicious. Food came out pretty quickly, and the service was great the entire time. We also tried a few of their cocktails, and they were all really tasty. This place is a bit on the pricier side, but it's perfect for family-style dining and sharing dishes. Overall, definitely worth checking out -- would come back! read more

Came here on a Thursday for some Thai food! The ambiance of the place is very nice. I would say it's a cute place to come with family, coworkers or for special occasions. A date even! I came rather casually and really enjoyed my experience. They have really great cocktails and options. The green tea mojito was very tasty and I would get it again. I would say the place is great to take pictures and the cocktails were aesthetically pleasing. The service was really fast and everyone working was very kind + attentive. I would recommend getting the chiang mai lettuce wrap. It is spicy and has a great kick. I enjoyed the flavor and loved the combination of hot spicy seasoned chicken with the fresh crunch of the lettuce. I also got the spicy Thai basil which came with a small soup, fried egg and fish sauce. I really enjoyed this dish as well. I'm a huge fan of fish sauce:) read more

Ambiance is very nice here. Cute decor and very friendly, personable wait staff. This used to be my favorite thai restaurant in the city for special occasions, however it seems that food quality has changed a bit since the remodel. Quality has gone down while the opposite can be said for prices. For example, the thai papaya salad is way too sweet and does not have enough umami. The tom yum was also lukewarm and watered down. The rest of my dishes were either too sweet or salty. But the saddest thing was the stale and dry onion rings on my volcanic beef dish. It's still a fun place to dine though, but just keep your expectations low. These days, it leans heavily into decor and focuses on a more bland palette. read more

Osha Thai is an atmospheric spot by the Embarcadero for bold Thai dishes! Coming in for a special event, I tried the Curry Dumplings (steamed dumplings in coconut curry sauce); Papaya Salad; Pineapple Fried Rice; Pad Thai; and Pumpkin Curry. But my favorite entrees were the Country Chicken (battered chicken strips stir-fried with cashews, onions, bell peppers, and chilies in a honey ginger sauce) and Spicy Basil Chicken (minced chicken stir-fried with chilies and bell peppers in a spicy basil sauce). The Papaya Salad and Spicy Basil Chicken both had a nice amount of heat, and the crispy texture of the Country Chicken was super addicting. For dessert, the Mango with Pandan Sticky Rice and coconut cream was a creative take on a classic dessert, but the entrees were the real highlight. read more

I had my birthday dinner with 10 people here at Osha Thai and it was super pretty inside. I was also able to modify my reservation time an hour before which was nice. The service is also really good. The servers helped me and put the candles on the cake I brought and lighted the candles and then brought it out for the table at the right time. I ordered veggie pad see ew and tom kha soup, both were good! The plates and bowls for all the dishes are so cute and picture worthy as well. They close at 8:30 even on weekends though which is kinda early:/ I would come back here sometime to try more of the menu options. read more
