    Jaded Buddha (left side).

Came here for the first time on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The interior and ambiance was really nice. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken & Indonesian Corn Fritters. I also ordered the Jaded Buddha drink too. The pad Thai was alright, noodles were a bit thin and the chicken was a bit overcooked/burnt (forgot to take a picture of it). There's corn fritters were fine too, but the sauce that came with it made a huge difference, otherwise, it would have been plain. It had a crunchy chip like texture. The jaded Buddha drink was good but had too much ice. Service was fine. Restrooms are downstairs and there were 4-5 stalls. It was clean. Barely any parking nearby. The best way to get here is to uber or take BART to Montgomery or Powell street and walk over.

Amazing butternut Sq dumpling! Some of the other food was really good too. The only thing we ordered we didnt finish or enjoy as much was the corn fritters bc they were greasy & salty. The rolls were delicious with the yummiest chili crunch! Oh it was warm & had a familiar meat taste with the butter added mmmm. Service was good but felt off, they were scooting us out toward the end, though they were kind & attentive to our water. We asked for course but they brought it out fast like right after we were done the next plates arrived its not a big deal but subtlety felt rushed. Ambiance was good some modern touches with inviting setting.

This place was so cool! I was looking for somewhere new to try while visiting a friend in town, and this place was perfect. The menu is super unique with a good amount of vegetarian/pescatarian options. We loved all the food we tried, including the prawn salad and pad thai! While pad thai is always good, there was something different about theirs that I loved. I also had to try the butternut squash dumplings and loved them! The service was great and the vibes of the restaurant were perfect for a nice dinner. It was a bit pricey but that was expected with the ambiance and great food! I would recommend this place if you are looking for a unique menu.

E&O Kitchen totally surprised me in the best way. I didn't expect the food to be this good--everything we tried was creative and full of flavor. The Shokupan was incredible, honestly some of the best I've had anywhere in the U.S.--soft, fluffy, and perfectly toasted. The corn fritters were amazing, and the butternut squash dumplings were rich and comforting without being heavy. Cocktails were great too! I had the El Samurai, which was super smooth and nicely balanced. Overall, every dish hit the spot. I'd 100% come back--E&O really delivers a fun and tasty dining experience. It's conveniently located close to the sitter parking garage and close to union square.

In all honesty, the vibes and affordability during happy hour are 5/5, food and drinks 4/5, but the service was a 2/5. My friends and I decided to head over here for happy hour after a girls day out enjoying sights at Embarcadero and seeing a new exhibit at SF MOMA. After being seated, we were given menus and made decisions over what to order. We had the following: - 1/2 dozen oysters (Happy Hour) 5/5: amazingly good, fresh taste, and just enough to share! - Calamari 3/5: well fried, could be better with a little extra seasoning to it. - Mahalo Mule 5/5: DELICIOUS! A lovely tropical twist that's refreshing and fantastic for sipping on while chatting with friends. - Trade Wind G&T 5/5: Light taste with a cute little demureness to it. - Rickshaw-rita 4/5: Tasty, but a little too strong! We really enjoyed the drinks at E&O and mostly had a good experience. The only downside to our time there was one employee kept coming to our table trying to urge us to order off of the regular menu and very apparently judging whenever we kept ordering from the happy hour one. We understand that the customer service of one person doesn't fully represent the establishment, but it definitely was annoying to be told to consider ordering from that menu when were were very firm about us being there for Happy Hour (and on top of that, ordering multiple Happy Hour rounds). Other than that, I would come back again just for the drinks and oysters!

We really liked our food despite our weird waiter Corn fritters (just okay I'd never get them again 3 out of 5) Pork belly satay (incredible 5 out of 5) Lamb with noodles (excellent 4 out of 5) Cod (loved it 4 1/2 out of 5) The $9 Thai iced tea was too sweet and too much money for what little you get Waiter brought wrong food, oddly apologized for putting a hold on our food, and we were finished and had coats on ready to leave cause he disappeared and wouldn't bring us check We were last ones served even after other People arrived and they were done and gone and we were still there The waiter apologized over and over for forgetting us. But still, it's weird, right?

Came for dinner on Tuesday night before heading over to the theater. They have happy hour until 6pm. The standouts were the happy hour platter with ribs and steamed pork buns. The restaurant is also pretty large and open. Service was attentive and quick. Would definitely come back with a bigger party

A real gem for Asian Fusion right near Chinatown. Our party of three decided to sample a bunch of different things. The drink lost well balanced, with some great wine and beer selections. We all love the food, the corn fritters were a a highlight, along with the buns and dumplings. The only negatives were the time it took to get our drinks and the large very loud party next to us - To be fair, they were busy so thats to be expected.

E&O Kitchen and Bar is a great spot with a cool, lively vibe that fits perfectly with its Union Square location. The space feels energetic but comfortable, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy your time. The food was really good, and we tried a variety of dishes. Everything came out well prepared and flavorful, which made sharing and tasting multiple items a fun part of the experience. The menu has a nice range, so there's something for different tastes. Service was solid throughout the meal. We had reservations, which I always recommend anywhere you go in San Francisco even if it doesn't seem necessary. It made the whole experience smoother and stress-free. E&O Kitchen and Bar delivers good food, a fun atmosphere, and reliable service. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Union Square area.

What an unexpected and delightful Halloween discovery. This restaurant exceeded all expectations -- the cuisine, ambiance, and service were exceptional from start to finish. We selected several of the menu's signature dishes and were impressed by the balance of flavors and thoughtful presentation in each. Our table unanimously agreed that on our next visit, we'll happily reorder every dish and explore even more of the menu. A special thank-you to Eddie and the culinary team for their warm hospitality and for introducing us to a remarkable dining experience near Union Square. We look forward to returning soon and sharing this gem with family and friends.

Apparently popular among the locals! Service was fabulous and decor beautiful and modern. I stayed with a deviled deviled egg. The first bite confused me a tad bit after a couple of bites it grew on me (and disappeared). Went down very smooth! A peppery aftertaste! For my entree I got the sesame miso soup and an order of shake mushroom dumplings. They were definitely flavorful but be warmed, very rich! I was expecting a light dumpling with mushrooms but they were more in a gravy. The sesame miso turned out to be a noodle entree, not a broth soup but the bartender was really lovely and had some chicken broth added which was the touch I needed.

The food here was definitely worth the price. The beef and garlic noodles was my favorite tonight, beef so tender and full of flavor from the dish. The green curry chicken was a very close second, you can eat this with rice all day. We love eating papaya salad spicy, I'm not sure if there was an option here and I forgot to ask. When it arrived, it tasted so light, fresh, and crisp. We liked it as well. The pad thai with chicken was not bad here, I'd say I have had better, and it could just be our personal taste. Lastly the calamari had some really nice light flake breading and was not doughy or clumsy. Tasted great as well, we did think for the price point, was a bit higher for the portion. Overall for this visit, I'd say 4.5.

She surprised me with a reservation at Ox + Tiger and I was immediately impressed. The restaurant only seats 8 people, making the whole experience super intimate and personal. When Japanese and Filipino flavors come together, you get such a unique fusion cuisine inspired by chef couple Ej and Hatomi. Dinner was more than just a meal it was a 2 to 2.5 hour storytelling experience about their menu creations, how they met, and the grind behind keeping their dream alive. The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. As a Filipino, I'll admit I can be picky with Filipino-inspired food because we grow up spoiled by our parents' cooking but this? I was genuinely impressed. Think familiar flavors recreated in their own creative and elevated way. Highly recommend.

Situated in a small, 8 seat counter, dinner is intimate with dishes being prepared right in front of you. The menu features three courses, an appetizer, main, and a dessert - with the option for an additional add-on. Our meal featured a focus on fish, in particular mackerel and monkfish. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The savory, sweet, sour combination completely catches you off guard but becomes increasingly addictive the more you eat. So bold and absolutely memorable. Ox&Tiger takes familiar concepts, breaks them apart, then fuses them back together with a flair of Filipino and Japanese flavors. This results in dishes that are utterly unique and innovative. Additionally, with menus and playlists designed by family, this truly feels like the epitome of a family-run business and a meal cooked with so much care in front of you. This is absolutely worth a visit and an opportunity to try new flavors you've never experienced before.

Everything about the ordering process and the quality of the food itself was good but not great. There was no wow factor or anything that left me feeling extra motivated to return, but I also wouldn't be opposed if I were nearby and craving onigiri. There's a single kiosk in-store to order at, but you can also place an order with the person working the counter if it's not too busy. I wasn't sure what I wanted immediately, so I waited for one of my friends to finish before ordering. I added 1 unagi eel, 1 unagi onigiri, and 1 crab onigiri to my basket and checked out. I have absolutely no idea what's the difference between "unagi eel" and "unagi onigiri", and when I went to pick up my order, the staff member told me my order was two unagi and one crab. However, I was charged $4.50 for the unagi eel and $4.30 for the unagi onigiri, so go figure. I could not detect a difference between the two, and the price of each averaged out to $4.40, so it's whatever. I unwrapped one of the unagi onigiris to eat in-store as we waited for a Zoox to arrive. It was actually pretty difficult to extricate the seaweed and rice ball filling in one piece to consume together, which I presume is because the onigiris are each made-to-order and due to the freshness, the separate ingredients haven't had a chance to marinate and congeal together. As I had not eaten all day, I quickly devoured the onigiris before and after our short ride back to a café where some of our other friends were waiting. The onigiris were, as I mentioned before, pretty standard minus the fact they kind of fell apart. I would say if you like onigiris, then these will get the job done, but they're nothing exceptional, so keep your standards at baseline.

Even before this most recent visit, I'd enjoyed intimate dinners here for its creative, Korean-Thai-inspired menu that always packed an impressive punch of flavor but, dare I say, the brunch might be even better. The steak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, with the steak seasoned and cooked to perfection and pairing beautifully with the charred onion aioli, plus a side of expertly crisped smashed potatoes that were so addicting. The steamed mussels were sumptuous and packed with umami, and I loved the two large bricks of toasted sourdough focaccia that were perfect for sopping up every last bit of the delicious dashi broth. But the pièce de résistance was the custard French toast, which I can only describe as the love child of bread pudding and tres leches cake as it was crispy on the outside but uber moist on the inside, custardy, and simply divine.
