The food here was good but many dishes lacked the spice I expect from Thai food. I wish they offered the option to adjust the spice. The service could also be improved since they only had 2-3 servers (no hostess) for a packed restaurant.

We came here for dinner on a Tuesday night and we thought it would be more crowded, but it wasn't. The service was really fast and the staff was so nice. Here's what we got: Mangoholic: 10/10 it was AMAZING. It was very sweet so definitely would recommend. Khao Soi: 9.5/10 - I was going to get something else but when I saw this trending on Yelp, I changed my order immediately. It was definitely also on the sweeter side but the portion is massive. It came with the curry, noodles, crispy noodles, and vegetables. Definitely would come here again!!

Good food but bad service Pad see ew 4/5 - tasty but the crispy pork was a little chewy. Standard pad see ew dish Pad Thai 4/5 - this was good too but nothing special. Very small portions Panang curry 4/5 - good flavor and not too coconut-y. You can still taste the curry flavor so that was nice Overall it was a standard Thai restaurant but nothing special. Wait was long and workers are a bit rude.

This place was so so good! If you're looking for a thai place to eat at, just go here. The food was amazing and so flavorful. We were seated immediately and had our orders taken fairly quickly. I had such a fulfilling experience!!

Solid Thai food! The dishes seem pretty standard, but they are well-priced and tasty. We had the eggplant basil with chicken and the cashew nut crispy chicken with a side of jasmine rice. The eggplant was nice and soft and the symphony of flavors was good! I just wish that the spice from the peppers was more evenly mixed in and that the sauce was less watery. The regular chicken was just ok, I think I would choose a different protein next time. The crispy chicken in the cashew dish was juicy and flavorful. Big fan of this dish! I also tried the khao soi during my previous visit and thought it was pretty solid. The service was good but a little slow, maybe because the restaurant was pretty packed. If you flag them down though they are quite responsive, you may just need to take some initiative to get the bill. The restaurant is simply decorated but fairly aesthetic. I would come again to try more of their menu!

Came here after the Ronny vs Hasan show on a Saturday--also the day of the power outage. We were so glad Polk Street still had power so we could grab food before heading home. Surprisingly, we were seated right away. We weren't super hungry, but figured we should eat since we didn't know when the power would be back on. We ordered the Thai boat noodles, drunken noodles, and spicy sauce wings. Everything was super flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The Thai boat noodles almost tasted like pho, and while the drunken noodles looked a bit bland because of the lighter color, they were actually packed with flavor. The wings were great too--the sauce complemented them perfectly.

okay. this place is legit. I was looking for some authentic thai food that wasn't just pad thai or curry. Met my friend here on a Monday for dinner. Parking is a pain but I managed to find a spot a couple blocks away. Walked in and was seated right away. They were actually really busy for a Monday! We ended up going with the the recommended dishes: Roti Dip: This was basically a crispy roti with curry sauce dip. Sold appetizer Kaho Soi: Curry broth with chicken. This was so good and the chicken was really tender! Kao Pad Gra Prow: This was my favorite! it was a fried rice with ribeye. THe ribeye was so freakin delicious! The sauce is what got me. We couldn't finish our meal so I took the leftovers home. I couldn't tell if the leftovers taste even better or if it was just that good! Definitely a must try!

We came with a group of three at Friday night ! Even though it is pretty pack but we got seat pretty easily and they served the food really fast. And the food is really good . The pork belly really reminds me of the traditional dishes back in Taiwan !!

I had a solid dinner at Thai Spice. I've been once a while back and wanted to return to see if it was still as good as I remembered. The food is amazing! I got the Khao Soi with tofu and the thai fried rice with shrimp. The Khao Soi was perfection; chewy noodles, flavorful broth, and a perfect hint of acidity. This was definitely the star of the show. The thai fried rice was a great compliment to it as well! Shrimp were big and juicy. The ambiance in the restaurant is very inviting and cute. We were able to walk in with no reservations around 6:30 but it did get very busy around 7:30 so be prepared to wait if you come during peak dinner time. The service was friendly, but slow. No one checked on us to see how we enjoyed the food and it took a long time to get a check. I was also interested in getting desert but they didn't ask if we wanted any and just dropped the check after clearing our plates. It was evident that they got busy and needed tables so wanted to get us out which is understandable- but I wish we had more prompt and attentive service during our actual meal- not only to flip the table.

First time here but I think there just might be nothing on the menu that doesn't taste good. Will have to return to try more! The decoration is beautiful! They have a huge table for large parties and a bunch of small tables perfect for dinner dates or causal lunches. The service was a little slow because I think she was working alone during lunch hours, but she tried her best and was friendly. We started with the roti and curry dip as an appetizer and it was gone so fast. The roti might be the best I've had. Khao soi- the curry soup was thick, creamy and savory. The portion size was huge and was enough for me to have a second meal. The noodles were perfect and really pick up the soup flavor. Wouldn't change a thing. Massamun Beef Roti - This a is a slow braised bone-in short rib that's presented in a massamun curry. It's the best kind of beefy savory to dip the roti in. I would really recommend this if you want to branch out and try something besides the red yellow and green curry with rice.

We came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The server told us it would be about 5-10 minutes so we waited outside until a table cleared. The place is simple and clean. We sat and there were menus already on the table. The server took our drink orders a few minutes later and we also ordered the crispy rolls. They were good and the sauce paired with them was a great touch. We also ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp and Spicy Basil with Chicken. Both dishes were delicious with lots of flavor. Veggies were crispy and not soggy, which I love. And portions were large with plenty of protein. This place is a great Thai restaurant and I'm glad we stumbled upon on it.

Super cute on the inside. It is quite on the noisier side though so don't expect to be able to hear the people you're with. Service was okay. They forgot one of my friend's order so we had to follow up multiple times for them to be able to give it to us. Food was good! The portion size for the price is worth it. I would try coming here again when it's way less busy.

Green curry with tofu and veggies. Shrimp fresh rolls. Fullmoon party cocktail.

12 out of 10. Let me say it louder for the people in the back. TWELVE OUT OF FUQQIN TENNUUHHH!!!! I am a green curry whore, and an absolute sucker for a fresh roll with shrimp, so this is the exact meal I was seeking tonight. Was in Hayes valley and wanted to go somewhere walking distance, but the gravitational force of the universe convinced me to get in my car and drive here instead. And I'm glad I went with my heart because I made the correct choice. Fullmoon Party Cocktail- I am not big on cocktails, but I was feeling groovy so I went for it. Crisp, delicious, balanced, not too sweet. Get it. Fresh Rolls w/ Shrimp - Fresh, crunchy, rolled tight. Yes please. Green Curry w/ Tofu and Veggies - THE STAR OF THE SHOW. The leading lady. My Bottom B**ch. Yallllll. Omg. No cap, best green curry I've ever had in my life. I worked at a restaurant where we had a regular named Chuck (yea I'm name dropping), and Chuck knew wtf he liked. He would DRINK his extra side of au jus, and eat his extra side of steak sauce like it was a cup of soup- with no shame. It was wild to watch, because sheesh that's crazy. But I'm here to tell ya'll right now, that's exactly what I'm about to do with this green curry Shout out to Chuck, I get it now brother.

To get the best optimal experience at Khao Tiew, please remember to put your name on the waitlist and to get there on time when your party is close in queue (if you're not there, you're square, no expectations since they have tons of people waiting). I came here on a Monday night with my friend and I put my name down on the waitlist around 5 pm on the yelp app (heads up you have to be one mile away to be applicable to put your name down). Since I have been here before I know the deal and expected the wait. We were seated around 6:40 pm but it was so worth it in our opinions. The shop itself has a good amount of tables with a nice retro Thai feel from its decor. The servers are very nice and friendly but also the food comes out super quick which is what I personally appreciate as well. Here are some highlights from our absolute feast that we demolished (no food was left behind or forgotten). * Nuer nam tok: The medium rare beef was chewy, had the right amount of spice, and paired well with the crunch of the herbs. The saltiness of the meat ate well with the fresh sides of lettuce and cucumbers. * Crispy shrooms with ground pork: The crispy mushrooms were my favorite last time and the version with ground pork was exceptional. The mushrooms had a nice light batter and the sauce coated your mouth with an umami punch. * Drunken noodles: I love the amount of shrimp and calamari they gave! The noodles itself were coated in a semi sweet sauce that had a delicious soy flavor. * Duck curry: WOW the most tender duck dish I ever had, no notes! * Kaya jam with coconut ice cream: Creamy, fluffy, and a great way to end a meal. This dish is so hard to explain in words, you have to get it. Overall, amazing spot, amazing find, would wait 2 hours again for a third time :)

There were 3 of us and we lined up around 3:45pm before their 4pm opening and luckily made it in with the first wave of seating. The restaurant has a decent amount of tables, though it's not super big so I'd definitely recommend coming early especially if you have a big group. We started with the papaya salad and didn't realize it was deep fried. It was still good but I personally would've preferred it fresh. The fried mushrooms were AMAZING - perfectly crispy and paired so well with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. For mains we ordered the khao soi with crispy fried chicken and it was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was so rich, flavorful, and comforting. We also got the sizzling soft shell crab which was solid but probably something I'd skip next time. The duck breast turmeric curry was my second favorite - the curry flavor was absolutely chef's kiss. To end the meal we got the dessert toast and it was the perfect finale. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, buttery, warm, and topped with the perfect scoop of ice cream.

Both are rum-based and had a really nice kick, especially the Soi Ari with the pandan in the aftertaste (which we found super refreshing). Food we ordered were the Nam Tok Beans, the Pad Khee Mao, and the rabbit curry. Both of us love spice so the Nam Tok Beans blew us away! Did not expect that kind of packed flavor at all but it makes a seemingly ordinary bean dish so much more exciting. The noodles were cooked perfectly and made a great in between to the rabbit curry. Which speaking of, oh my god??? SUPER tender and fall off-the-bone. Rabbit can be a hard dish to put on for people who have never tried it, but I really appreciate that it's not as bone-y as other rabbit dishes I've had in the past. It really was like chicken but softer. Wow wow wow. Huge shoutout to our bartender for giving us extra birthday shots on the house. Never had Amaro before tonight but it was delicious. Did not get his name unfortunately but he's fantastic! The reason I give 4 stars despite the great experience was because I noticed less urgency from the host and the servers in terms of getting stuff out. Doesn't help that the place is smaller and more expensive for a Michelin star establishment. Sitting by the bar made a huge difference for us since we had a great experience with our bartender, but I have a feeling that those at regular tables that night might've lost patience with the wait times for certain dishes. TLDR: if you love spicy Thai food, have the money to spend, and aren't in a rush, this place is worth checking out.
