Second time at Mixt, first time at this location. This time I got a steak salad with potatoes, corn, butter lettuce, cauliflower, sweet potato, wonton crisps, and hot sauce. I really liked how spicy and flavorful the hot sauce was, and enjoyed this combo of toppings though I found the steak a bit chewy. I would probably stick with the blackened chicken again next time. Wifi was available but was quite slow. Typical fast casual dining experience but there were some cozy booths inside and plenty of seating space. read more

Today's experience at MIXT was unacceptable and I will not be returning. I placed an online pick up order and sent my boyfriend inside to pick it up like I frequently do at this location since there was no parking. He is African-American with dreads. After collecting the bag from the shelf like he usually does, he was immediately asked to show confirmation of the order on his phone.... The problem? I watched multiple other couriers walk in, pick up orders, and leave without being asked to show any proof. I double parked my car as I saw the interaction with the cashier and my boyfriend from outside. Funny enough, when I went to pick up the bag from the shelves, I was NOT asked to show confirmation but I made it a point to show the employee that I had the confirmation on my phone. That inconsistency speaks for itself. The employee at the register was a Caucasian gentlemen who was bald and was wearing glasses. I understand that employees have policies they have to follow. But if verifying pick up orders is the policy, then apply it to EVERYONE. You do not get to selectively enforce a policy and then expect customers not to notice. The fact that my boyfriend was singled out while multiple other people were not is deeply concerning and felt like racial profiling. I was born and raised in the neighborhood. Literally two blocks away. Me and my family order from this location numerous times which makes this experience even more disappointing. We have supported this establishment repeatedly, only to leave today feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. MIXT needs to do better. Policies should be applied consistently, not based on who walks through the door. You've lost my business. -A very disappointed neighbor read more

I came in specifically for the seasonal items and let me tell you... mission fully accomplished. My two picks were the Sonoma Salad and the Bangkok Bowl, and WOW -- both delivered in totally different (but equally amazing) ways. If you're craving something refreshing, light, and fruity, the Sonoma is a must. The pears take it to the next level and give it that perfect sweet, crisp bite that makes every forkful feel extra refreshing. It's the kind of bowl you order when you want to feel bright and satisfied. Now if you're in the mood for something warm, crunchy, and nutty, the Bangkok Bowl is your girl. The texture, the richness, the cozy vibes -- chef's kiss. It's hearty without being heavy and hits all the comfort-food notes. And can we talk about portions?! These bowls are NO joke. I swear I made a huge dent in mine, looked down thinking I was almost done... only to realize I basically still had a whole second meal left. Instant take-home win. On top of all that, the staff is super friendly, the space is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the whole experience just feels good from start to finish. I came for the seasonal menu but I'll definitely be back for everything else too. If you're debating what to order: Sonoma for fresh + fruity, Bangkok for warm + crunchy -- you truly can't go wrong! read more

Salad bar? Excuse me, no. Salad LOUNGE. This is upper class salad that had a good childhood and went to a private school. I say this not in jest, but envy. This is the salad we wish we could have everyday. The main part of the restaurant is your standard table and booth situation, but off to the side is a darker, cozier arrangement of plush chairs and couches. The tables are a bit low and awkward to eat at, but the ambiance is immaculate. You can even get beer and wine here to complete the vibe. I will always love a MIXT salad. The ingredients are fresh, well-prepared, and fairly portioned. You can eat well and healthily and it's not unreasonably priced. I still mourn the loss of the green Goddess dressing... But I'll keep coming back regardless. It's that good. read more

Lots and lots of salad many toppings to choose from if you wanna build your own, or go with the ones on the menu. There were so many options. I ordered Mixt for a healthy salad for lunch and they delivered for sure! I got the bachelor which comes with greens, arugula, grilled flat iron steak, blue cheese, herb roasted potatoes, cherry tomatoes, savory herbs, balsamic vinaigrette, topped with caramelized onions and breadcrumbs. This salad was packed with proteins, greens/veggies, and it was hardy/very filling! I'm a big fan of the compostable packaging as well. This picture is unassuming, but the salad was 12/10 for lunch! read more

I have ordered from Mixt before, and now they are engaging in some wild shrinkflation. I requested bread with my meal because salad isn't very filling. In the past, they gave you a decent slice of bread with your salad. Today, it was half a tiny little slice. I laughed when I took it out of the bag. The photo is from before it was eaten. Maybe just charge for it instead of misleading customers with child-size portions? read more

Slam dunk. Phenomenal fresh ingredients, endless varieties of seasonal produce and freshly made house dressings. This is my favorite salad chain, to the point I got their app! I love to customize my own, rather than get their pre-made concoctions. Parking in this location is tough, but the customer service is reliably friendly and sweet. Prices are great and portions are huge, each salad easily enough for two. read more

When I'm craving a fried chicken sandwich in winter and find myself in the Mission District, I love opting for a healthier alternative: the Bachan's Bowl at MIXT. It's a cozy, satisfying mix of warm cilantro brown rice, crispy fried chicken, fresh veggies, Japanese barbecue sauce, and a refreshing ginger-lime dressing. In winter, it's absolutely perfect--warm and hearty because a cold salad simply would not do. read more

I like to indulge in a really nice salad maybe twice a month for eating out. Other days I'll try to recreate similar salads at home. That being said MIXT always hits that urge for a really filling, colorful, delicious salad. You can build your own or pick something from the seasonal menu. Two year long favorites are the "Bachelor" and the "Puebla" salads. Very casual inside with booths. read more

Gee, what's a salad lounge? I remember the golden days when MIXT was Mixt Greens, but apparently they decided one name was enough for them like Cher, Madonna, Adele... Back when I was an office drone, I used to go to the ones in the FiDi with alarming regularity, but this was my first time at this unexpected Mission location, the land of tacos and kofta balls. I was expecting a lot of skinny vegan types in silk pajamas as that was my preconceived image of a salad lounge. But no, it was empty save for one senior next to the window. I was familiar with their menu and went with an old favorite, the $12.95 Beetnik Salad, to go. It consisted of 620 calories of mixed greens, arugula, roasted beets, avocado, and more... Goat cheese, toasted walnuts, dried cranberries, and shaved fennel rounded out this MIXT creation with a balsamic vinaigrette on the side (photo: https://bit.ly/47998ce). It was tasty in the way an excess of ingredients in a salad manages to accomplish. But don't expect a low calorie delight, and the grain bowls were all that much higher. Hey, at least they were upfront about it. FOOD - 4 stars...the Beetnik was tasty excess for a salad and not low calorie AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...this is a lounge? SERVICE - 3 stars...automatic pilot TOTAL - 4 stars...giving up the rating for the salad RELATED - Exploring the Mission? My body was craving some greens and veggies so I gave in and ordered takeout from MIXT. I decided to go with the option to design my own grain bowl, with a base of quinoa and kale. Even though you cannot see it in the images, there was a good amount of quinoa and tons of kale. You choose 5 veggies to add on top, and they have a great selection of veggies and toppings as well as a pretty extensive list of dressings to choose from. All-in-all I was super pleased with my salad, even though ideally I would have paid slightly less. That said, the prices are not astronomical and I enjoyed my meal so much that I will definitely grab food from here again in the near future! read more

MIXT - BRUSSIE SALAD - Salad Near Me - San Francisco, California

A bit conflicted. I was grateful to not have to drive all the way downtown for a salad (I wish there were more salad/healthy restaurants in residential SF!), and admittedly their salad was actually better than I expected (and bigger than some of the sad Yelp pictures I've seen), but I just wish I had gotten the order I had placed. I'm usually someone who has to customize my salad, but when I saw the Elote option, I was excited for the unique combo of ingredients that I actually all love: corn, avocado, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, plus jicama con tajin! I ordered it without cheese, but guess what? instead, they gave me cheese and took out the CORN (that was the whole point of the salad!?!). The rest tasted good though, but still wondering what it would've tasted like with elote in it. At least the jicama con tajin was generous. My husband had also asked for dressing on the side, but it was drenched on his salad. Again, just so many mistakes... seems to be a common story across other reviews as well. :( read more

The website is absolute garbage. The UI is terrible to the day the least, but my biggest issue is that they require you to make an account but if your number is already in use they will not allow you to make an account with it. I really just want to order a salad, I'm not trying to maximize rewards, please just make a guest checkout option, it's really not that serious. The salads are fine, I'm happy that there's a healthy option near me but yeesh the amount of frustration I feel while just trying to order is impossible. read more

I've only ever ordered MIXT through DoorDash, so I was happy to come across this location while I was running errands. I ordered through the MIXT app which I highly recommend (they gave me a 5$ off coupon, first time user). My order was ready before my pick up time and staff were friendly. I went in around 4 and it was very empty with plenty of seating. The salad itself was okay, the ingredients weren't fresh, but I just needed a quick nourishing meal so it got the job done! read more

I just got our group order from MIXT on Valencia, and while the salads were tasty, we were very disappointed with the portion sizes. The salads were noticeably smaller--about 2/3rds of what we typically get from the MIXT downtown location. For the price and the standards we've come to expect from MIXT, this was a letdown. MIXT has always been known for generous portions, and this experience felt far from that. We hope this feedback helps ensure consistency across all locations. read more

Surprisingly good salads. I was craving fresh greens and Mixt certainly hit the spot. Delicious salads, fast service, nice environment.

Fast service. Best salads to go in my opinion. 3rd time ordering and the portions seems bigger my first two times but still good size. The bacon and some of the steak on my cob was a bit tough. Maybe a bit over cooked? Never dined indoors but I'll have to check out. read more

Really good salads, you get a bunch of proteins for the price so I personally think it's worth it. One salad will keep you full until dinner or you might not even be hungry for dinner. I got the build your own, it came to me via delivery through their site which was super convenient. I'm taking 1 star away because the app and website are extremely glitched, and do not show accurate data regarding my order. It is also impossible to reach someone over the phone for an online order. today I had perhaps the best salad ever. I got to choose a bunch of fresh toppings and then got lime crème dressing! Yum!!!

Great salad combinations, healthy fresh, and delicious. Great customer service as well. I highly recommend it! Parking can be tricky!

I came in around 8, an hour before they closed to grab a bite before the gym. I came in and was helped by a worker who seemed like they were new (?) That's totally fine though! Their other coworker ended up helping me with my order. I ordered the Bachelor with heavy dressing and I was pleasantly surprised! It was my first time at MIXT so I wasn't sure what to expect. One thing I would like to note is that all the toppings, with the greens, and the blue cheese all go very well together! If blue cheese isn't your thing then I'd suggest swapping it out with another cheese! Another thing I would probably change is the greens or to get a little less because at the end of me eating my salad, I was left with no toppings and just the greens. For me, I like to have an equal amount of toppings, greens, and dressing so I'm not just eating greens at the end. It was around $20 and that sounds pretty reasonable considering there's steak! Service was good, they moved pretty quickly. I was offered a piece of bread at the end and the bread was okay, normal sourdough bread. Overall, I'd come again and try other salads but this one is a good one! Thanks MIXT team! read more

Found a long strand of hair... hope they showered today. Feel like an institution this big should enforce hair nets.

I will not return to this location again. I paid almost $14 for my bachan bowl and received much less than at the Polk Street location. I requested sweet potato, but they didn't add it. The staff seemed more focused on chatting than serving. They quickly prepared my bowl, handed me the bag without a napkin or fork, and didn't provide my sauce. Overall, the service was unfriendly and rushed. read more

Design your own salad; I must say, is specific for us picky eaters. The option of adding your own protein, veggies, and fruits is exactly how I like my salad. Everything I want and nothing I don't. Mixt, surely got it right with my 1st order. Every bite was fresh and offered a different taste bud experience. From the crispy and grilled chicken, apple slices, cucumbers, savory herbs, croutons, and eggs. The salad was 2 meals in 1, and it didn't disappoint. Will definitely order again. Recommend? "I really regret eating healthy today." No one ever. Advice: order extra dressing. read more

I'm rating Mixt as 1 star because of their hostile customer order experience. Orders cannot be called in via phone, but far worse is the fact that they make you sign up for a separate Mixt account to place an order online. There is purposely no guest checkout option like you would see on any other restaurants website. Can you imagine if you were forced to create a new dedicated account for every single restaurant you wanted to order from? I will simply wait in person if I want to eat here moving forward, but likely will just avoid out of frustration instead. read more

Love, love, love make-your-own salad spots, & MIXT is the new kid I'm adding to my rotation. If the ingredients in my make-your-own-grain bowl gives you deja vu, it's because I've got a fetish for arugula & quinoa topped with scallion, beets, pickled red onion, marinated tofu, & tomatoes with a miso ginger vinaigrette. The topping here that can't be found at the other five salad spots where I order some variation of this meal -- crispy shallots for the win & for the crunchy element I gotta have!! Sometimes I be having some basic-ass cravings but the MIXT Caesar hits the spot. Their dressing isn't overpowering & I love that they aren't stingy with the garlic herb croutons, parm, radishes, avocado, & savory herb trio of parsley, cilantro, & tarragon. Next time I won't add grilled chicken because I don't think it added much to my salad. Thanks, MIXT, you're my new best friend, talk to you every three days til I get sick of you! read more

Dropped in here after arriving in SFO and looking for a quick bite with a healthy focus. Entered the doors a bit past 2pm, areas were clean, welcoming as there were only a few people finishing up their late lunches. Counter service was quick and attentive. Decided on the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and added a chicken with pesto and arugula sandwich. Took a seat outside and dove in. Sandwich was ok at best. Quite dry and minimally or hastily constructed. I would pass on it next time as it wasn't the quality I hoped for with the price. Salads are where it's at for this place. Ordered the Cobb Salad with the champagne vinegarette. Go for the medium dressing option, seemed like the most reasonable option. Overall the salad was good, lots of cheese chunks, tomatoes and chicken. I was quite happy with the size and composition of the salad. Next time I will expand my options and try the variety of other salads they offer. Give it a try, not the best I've ever had but good nonetheless. read more

Today I ordered the "Puebla" salad. It comes with Romaine hearts, cabbage, grilled chicken, avocado, spiced honey roasted sweet potatoes, sharp cheddar cheese, pumpkin seeds, jicama, scallions, and roasted poblano dressing. Man that dressing is everything! It definitely ties in the salad well. What I love is that all the ingredients taste fresh and clean and everything is always neatly arranged and perfectly packaged. I normally order from Sweet Greens. They are always spot on with portion and flavors, but as of late it's like they just been throwing the ingredients in the bowl. Where's the love? I definitely think that what you eat should be visibly appealing, right? Oh, don't forget to order their chocolate chip cookie at Mixt!!! Yum!!! read more
