    Tonkatsu with Pineapple
    Lynn N.

I came here to try their drinks and sandos after hearing many good things about Tadaima! We placed our order, and it took about 10 minutes for our two drinks and tonkatsu sando to be ready. Inside is extremely small with limited seating, but we ate at a park nearby. The drinks were good! We got a matcha and hojicha. The main issue was that they were both watery. The tonkatsu also was not to our taste. It was not heated up and lacked texture and umami, in our opinion. Regardless, we are glad we tried!

Pretty good matcha, got lucky with no line on a Sunday afternoon (not sure if I would be willing to wait in line too long here). Strong matcha flavor and quick service, but not much seating inside. The food smelled really good too, would definitely want to try the sandwiches next time.

2nd time trying this place and we happened upon a short line! Still took a while to get our drinks but I can see the staff is working hard! I got the hojicha with salted cream and it was delicious! Perfect sweetness and creaminess. It's usually very busy and there's not much waiting room or seating. There's like one table on the inside but it's in a busy spot. They recommend waiting outside until your name is called. I'll be back for more I'm sure !

Tadaima is a small matcha and Japanese Sando + snacks shop in the Mission District. The menu has a wide variety of matcha base latte with adjustable sweetness, foam toppings, and other Japanese inspired drinks. Ambiance: A small clean store with a small high top area, another high top table outside, and a bench to sit outside while enjoying your matcha and food. Service: Food / drinks ordered via a worker at the front with a menu to the left to see options available. Staff were friendly and helpful during interaction. Wait time: Not an extremely long wait between ordering and receiving food and drink. A buzzer is given to you which rings when your food is completed. Food: The yuzu salmon onigiri had a decent serving of salmon inside and on top of the rice. Good salmon flavor but slightly lacking in yuzu flavor. Chicken Curry onigiri: a mild curry flavor which again had a decent rice to chicken ratio. The chicken did taste slightly dry despite the curry sauce likely due to the nature of being a ground meat. Matcha Latte c Pistachio Cream was easily one of the best tasting matcha drinks I have had in SF. The matcha had a strong flavor and the pistachio cream did not overpower the taste of the matcha. There was a nice sweet, slightly salty, and pistachio flavor from the cream and the addition of the crushed pistachios was not a weird texture for the drink. I would definitely be interested in trying more of their matcha beverages due to quality and size of drink compared to cost.

Date: Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 Meal: Lunch Delivery Ordered Thru: DoorDash DashPass Time Placed: around 2pm Arrived: about 45 mins later Neighborhood Delivered to: Outer Richmond *Potato & Egg Salad ($15.50) *Straight Matcha ($6.25) - Iced, Less Ice, No Sweet *Regulatory Bag Fee ($0.25) *Long Distance Fee ($1.99) *Service Fee ($1.99) *Tax ($1.41) *Discount (-$10.88) I was on an egg salad sandwich kick and decided to try Tadaima. I had heard good things and the pictures looked promising. I believe DD was having some kind of deal, so I was able to get the discount above. Worth it since the sando is typically almost $16. So if you are ordering thru DD, make sure it's when they are doing a discount. It might coincide with HH pricing between 2pm and 5pm on the site. The sando was creamy and soft. Just what I wanted in terms of texture. A good size as well. My only gripe is it was sweet. I don't mind a hint of sweetness, but it was a lil too sweet for me. Otherwise I enjoyed he flavors. Was very happy to have a fluffy soft sando. Great spot for their egg sandos. I just wish it wasn't so sweet. REVIEW #4044

iced hojicha latte, iced matcha latte w strawberry cream

Came here not too long after they first opened so the craze was definitely still there. We went around 2pm, and the line was out the door. It took around 30 minutes (or maybe even more) to order and get the drinks. The store is tiny so don't plan on sitting inside. I got the iced matcha latte with strawberry cream. The matcha had a strong and pleasant taste, but I thought the strawberry cream tasted a little artificial. I would've preferred a strawberry puree. My friend liked his iced hojicha latte and said that it was pretty strong as well. I want to come back to try their sandos and other drink options once the hype and line dies down.

Great place for matcha! I got the pistachio cream matcha latte and my friend got the strawberry cream matcha latte. The cream toppings really tasted like pistachios and strawberries, respectively. The matcha latte part is not that sweet, and the matcha flavor was strong. There is very limited seating here, only one table and a bench outside the store. But it's pretty close to Dolores Park, so you can grab your drink and then go enjoy the park. Service was good!

Hojicha Latte w/ Salted Cheese Cream and Matcha w/ Strawberry Cream
    Criss N.

A nice cafe walking distance to Dolores Park. I got a Strawberry Matcha and a Hojicha cream top latte and both were solid. Also got some of the onigiri to go and they were good too. I think it's a nice, quick spot to stop by on the way to the park to enjoy drinks and a snack. P.S. they give out free stickers so go grab one!

Tried Tadaima for the first time for a pickup order. The food is really tasty, though a bit pricey. We ended up staying at the shop for a bit because we decided to order more, which turned out to be a good thing, we realized our order was actually incorrect. We were given an Unagi Musubi without the avocado, and one bacon, spam and egg musbi was missing entirely. Luckily, since we were still there, we were able to get it sorted out quickly. Definitely recommend checking your bag before you leave! Also, a small note on the Spam Musubi with Avocado: it tasted great, but the avocado had already turned black. It would be a huge improvement if these were made fresh to order to keep the avocado fresh. Great flavors overall, just keep an eye on your order details!

Tadaima is a great spot for matcha! The service is great all the cashiers that have taken my order have been very sweet. It's a small space with a couple seats inside and very little standing room but it's cute dark green and natural wood asthetic. I would recommend any of their matchas and chicken sando. I especially love the pistachio matcha latte. I haven't had any of their fruit Sandos so I can't say for those. But generally their milk bread is so fluffy and they don't skip on meat. I've tried their shrimp and pork katsu sandwiches but by the time I tried them they were cold and a little hard so the savory Sandos are very much made to eat asap imo. The misubis and onigiris aren't really that good and aren't worth the price imo but are very filling if you want a quick snack. Overall, I love coming here and bringing friends to try the matcha!

Iced matcha latte with salted cheese cream
    Emma F.

The strong, smooth matcha flavor was perfectly complimented by the salty-sweet flavor of the cheese cream topping. The matcha was very high quality, not at all bitter, and quite strong. The latte was not overly iced, milky, or sweet. I was sad when it was gone, but will definitely be back. The workers were kind and I enjoyed the cute atmosphere of this little place!

    Chicken Filet Karage Sando
    Ashley L.

I would definitely come back to Tadaima, but not necessarily for the matcha. Our drinks were good with no real complaints, but the standout of the visit was the sando. I've heard this place can get quite busy, but since I'm visiting from out of town, I came on a Friday right around opening and it was pretty manageable. There were only a few people ahead of us and we were able to grab window seating inside, which was perfect. The katsu sando was phenomenal. One issue I often run into with Japanese-style sandos in the U.S. is the bread. It can be dry or not quite the soft milk bread texture you'd expect, but that wasn't the case here. The bread was soft and slightly thicker, which worked well with the fillings. The karaage was incredibly tender and juicy while still crispy, and the slaw and sauces added a really nice balance of savory sweetness and acidity. The drinks were well made and tasted high quality, but next time I'd definitely focus more on trying additional food items.

Amazing matcha with seasonal options; lavender matcha latte was great. Pork katsu sando was rich but the fluffy bread kept everything balanced and light. Black sesame cream puff was delicious. Ordered to go and everything was packaged perfectly for the trip home.

Whether you are in the mood for a katsu sando, curry over rice, ochazuke with their matcha twist, or something sweet like the matcha cream pie, it is hard to go wrong here. All of the savory dishes I have tried have been great, but the fish katsu sando is one of my absolute favorites. The huge fish fillets are perfectly fried and flaky, tucked inside pillowy shokupan and topped with tangy yuzu shio koji sauce, tomato spread, and fresh crunchy cabbage. Every component works together beautifully, with richness, brightness, and texture all in balance. The pork katsu curry over rice is another standout. The katsu comes sliced into thick pieces that are still juicy inside, and it is fried expertly so the breading stays attached as you eat it. The curry has a really balanced flavor, even if I would not mind a little more spice, while the pickled radishes provide a nice contrast. I always add an onsen egg (for an additional $2) because breaking the runny yolk and mixing it into the curry adds another layer of velvety richness and creaminess. You can also tell they use high-quality matcha in their drinks, so the beverage menu is really more about choosing what fits your mood that day vs avoiding any bad options. All around us, the other diners seemed to be enjoying a full-scale brunch with savory pastries and what appeared to be a Turkish breakfast platter. It all smelled wonderful, so I'll have to explore more of the menu on my next visit. I enjoyed the mahlab cake a day later and was amazed that it retained its delicate and light texture. The icing was lightly flavored with orange, cherry, and floral notes, and the presentation was so elegant. The cake was the perfect accompaniment to my afternoon cup of tea. While I'm on a mission to try as many of SF's bakeries as I can, I am looking forward to returning to Loquat.
