YUMd: - matcha latte (w. simple syrup). not terrible for coffee forward cafe but still meh. NOMd: - pistachio berry croissant. soooooo good! croissant was perfect ratio of crispy and moist. service, etc.: i tried taking a video of the coffee being poured and the barista thought i was taking a video of her and mugged me down (no pun intended). i reassured her that she wasn't in the video it was just the cups but she didn't say anything just continued to give me the death stare and wouldn't pour the coffee until i put my phone away. didn't call out my drink either like she did with the rest of the tickets. other than that, the place is a vibe and would come back for the croissant and the croissant only. everyone else liked their coffees.
I absolutely love the ambiance of this coffee shop. I love the pastry selection (as a person with allergies, the pastries being so close to each other might be risky for other allergy people), but they were tasty!! Staff is very sweet and hard working. Love how much space there is and good amount of parking on the street. Also very close to the bay bridge. My coffee was excellent!! Especially the cold foam and the oat milk was great. Can't wait to come back here :)
Visited this stellar coffee establishment in SF recently. This is a HUGE spot with lots of seating (on 2 floors) and a working coffee roaster.. I really enjoyed the vibe of the cafe.. Unfortunately they were out of bakery items (we were visiting in the afternoon on a Saturday), will have to come back to try those. For coffee, my friend and I ordered a cappuccino and a flat white. The service was fairly quick but not sure why they served us in to-go cups when we were having it in the cafe. But, the coffee was delicious. I will come back here to check out some other coffee and the croissant and other bakery items!
Caution - this location does not offer wifi or outlets for those like me planning to work inside! (At least, not the downstairs area for outlets). I came in looking to do some work and I definitely wish I had known there was no free wifi or charging areas before having purchased a coffee and sandwich. Bummer. I ordered a vanilla latte - 2 stars. I wasn't a fan of their coffee overall and the serving was not full. Very interesting. For food, I got their chicken pesto and that too wasn't my favorite - chicken was a little dry but their sourdough was good. It was a sunny day in SF and it was really warm inside. Very spacious location, offers downstairs seating (bar style) and upstairs was more large tables (pretty packed). I had this place marked as a study/WFH location but after my visit, it's off the list.
I love the vibe. It's an absolutely beautiful spot with a large upstairs for extra seating. Service is generally good. Only had 3 not great experiences. Few rude staff interactions but overall... very sweet girls and staff. Food it's pretty bomb. Only got one pastry so far... but I'd buy again
Ordered: Iced Vanilla Paste Latte (~$7) Flat White (~$6) Aya's take: Sightglass is awesome; friendly & expert staff, super spacious, and very lax. This is one of the first coffee shops I've been to where you can actually taste the notes in the coffee beans. Like somehow the flavors weren't diluted or reduced. The Flat White was well made and the Iced Vanilla Paste Latte was smooth and bold with the vanilla paste adding a deeper richness and aromatic sweetness that was super enjoyable. Such a wonderful spot!
Stopped in for a morning pick me up. This spot is very cool. They have a good variety of coffee beans, drinks, sandwiches and pastries. It was bustling but still had plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal. There was several people working and lots of room for everyone. The cashier was very nice and recommended a few drinks for us to try.
Amazing neighborhood spot in Soma- Sightglass is an approachable and tasty coffee shop. I got an iced americano with almond milk- the coffee had a great, mellow flavor and the almond milk was fresh. The vibes were great. Very pretty interior with friendly baristas. The barista I interacted with was helpful and patient.
Maybe I had too high expectations but the coffee was just alright. Espresso a bit too undesirable of a sour. Americano a little watery. The ambiance is beautiful though. Inside a rustic roaster shop. The coffees were cute too. My family liked the vanilla paste and the flat white. I'm more of a purist so I never tried it. I would try to find another spot if I came back. Also maybe get another shot in my double shot iced Americano.
Vanilla bean paste latte: Got this hot and it was very delicious, vanilla flavor was there and not too sweet. Really enjoyable in the cold Pistachio and blackberry croissant: not a big fan of sweet pastries usually, the pistachio paste in the middle was very delicious and there was a decent amount! The blackberry jam was more sweet, but it paired well. The croissant is "twice cooked" so it had a bit of a fried cake like layer on top which I don't usually like much bc of the crumbly texture and it makes it heavier. Overall did enjoy it throughout the day! Baristas were super kind! I wanted to adjust the sweetness of my latte and they were so patient and helped me get the perfect taste. The space is very open and would be a great place to do work and meet with a friend. Went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't crowded at all! Definitely will come back!

Seating is not the most ideal when there are a lot of people, but the mocha and Pistachio Berry Croissant were on-point. It's worth coming back for. Great ambiance (craftsman-industrial) for a coffee joint.
Sight glass coffee is a dope coffee spot, I love the industrial vibes and the fact that you can see the operations running while you drink the product. Though the interior is dark and cozy the staff were warm and welcoming. I ended up getting their Rwanda V60 pour over which had great fruit notes and caramel. I didn't try any of their pastries but I'll for sure be back to buy bags of beans soon!

On a recent visit to San Francisco, I wanted to start off the trip right with great coffee shortly after arrival. Thanks to a friend, Sightglass came highly recommended. We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. All the baristas were friendly and fast to help. read more

Surprise SF visit to this establishment. Heard about this place from colleagues as we order coffee beans from this place and have it as regular rotation. Ordered hot matcha latte with almond milk and blueberry scone My husband order ice coffee and ham cheese croissant. We had a view of the establishment in front of the roaster. We love the industrial look and the recycled parts of the building. Interesting to see a working coffee roaster and a section of packaging in the same room! Service was great! Wait a few minutes for your order then find a table on main floor or above to enjoy your hot drink! read more

This spot has a really nice space with multiple areas for seating and brewing. The counter is in the middle and it is very open inside. They have a good amount of drinks to choose from but the srasonal drinks really stood out to me. They also have teas so there something for everyone. The cookie butter latte had a great balance of flavor and the staff do a great job making everything. I will definitely be back and will try the pastries and food next time as those looked great as well. read more

I can always count on this place to snap me out of being a morning zombie every Saturday! Thank god for this spot for open ungodly early ! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to function at work as I tend to rush out of the house due to long commute. So let's break it down! Food: Sightglass has new breakfast items which honestly comes in a clutch! Their breakfast burrito with sausage is $11 and vegetarian ones are $10. It's decent but do not expect earth shattering experience. It will get the job done to get you through the morning though. My only complaint about the burrito is long wait. Today, I waited for it to be done but it took so long that my coffee got cold. If you aren't keen on chowing down on breakfast burrito.....then I'd recommend other items like almond financier and chocolate croissant. They have decent variety and you're bound to find one that calls out to you. For me, I went with almond financier bc the name suggests rich experience, and I was right! It tastes like Madeline pastry but with hint of sophistication and trust fund . The croissant is buttery and delicious. Plus, it's a good place to start if you're new to becoming a coffee noob. Ambulances: I like to go here in the morning as it's not too crowded. Morning also means ample seatings for you to pick, people watch, and pondering upon what the day might bring. Typical in, this spot is a great place to catch up with old friends, cute coffee date, or to study and plan your next big adventures! It's very versatile and offers an urban/ industrial vibe. All coffee is roasted in house so you know what you're drinking. Oh! Did I mention you'll bound to meet cute floofs!? Yeah! Super cute spot with delicious drinks. It's really spacious with an upstairs and downstairs area. Overall, great work setting. But, unfortunately, they don't have WiFi. We got the orange matcha tonic and iced brown butter miso caramel latte with oat milk cold foam. Both were wonderful, one refreshing, one soothing. Drinks were ready fast. They also have free oat milk. My friend also got a sandwich, the Che Fico La Mortazza Sandwich. It was a decent overpriced sandwich. Personally, I wish it was a warm sandwich. Nice flavor on the focaccia but it was a little soggy. Chill baristas too. I'd come back for the drinks and nice workspace. read more

Sightglass Coffee is a great stop for an afternoon pick-me-up. I ordered a flat white and a sausage burrito, and both hit the spot. The flat white was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly bitter--exactly what you want from a quality coffee shop. The sausage burrito was warm, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. The ambiance really stands out. It's a beautiful space with a clean, modern design that makes you want to stay a bit longer and enjoy your drink. Such a cute coffee shop came here on a walk to Oracle Park and stopped for a latte. I love the interior and how high the ceilings are. I ordered a brown butter caramel latte I think and my friend ordered the vanilla latte. Both were perfectly sweet. I would come back again if I was in the area. read more

I got an espresso and an oat milk macchiato. The espresso had a good layer of crema and smooth texture. I tasted dark chocolate bitterness, then medium acidity with a sweeter finish as I sipped. Very well-executed shot. 5/5. With the macchiato, the oat milk added creaminess but didn't enhance the flavor much. I wonder if almond milk might've worked better here. 4/5 read more

Great ambience with ample space to work. It has a brewery kind of vibe and the barista is very helpful. Their speciality is medium roast. I tried drip coffee and they made it fresh right in front of me. Would visit again! read more
Creamy masala chai latte! I usually get it hot but decided to try cold. I replaced regular milk with oat milk. The chai latte was super flavorful and you can taste the spice but wasn't too overwhelming. The chai latte went down creamy and smooth. I enjoyed it. Place was extremely busy, lines out the door. Decor/inside was very SF vibe. The baked items were pretty good too. Since it was busy, expect a bit of a wait for the line and for your drink, especially if you have coffee. My husband got 3 shots of espresso. They didn't have whip cream. But he said it was very delicious and smooth. read more

Can I charge my laptop there?
Hi There, we do not have outlets at our 7th St location for charging devices.
Do they offer adequate free WiFi on weekends?
When I visited last, which was a month or two ago, they had free WiFi. The only problem I had with this place was that they don't have any outlets so I had to leave when my laptop ran out of battery.
Is there outdoor seating?
There's a bench outside by the bike rack, but no tables

You can buy Sightglass beans at Whole Foods and a lot of local grocery stores, including Rainbow Grocery, Bi-rite, Gus's Community Market, Mollie Stone's, Faletti Foods, etc. I typically only buy coffee beans at the grocery if they were roasted…
Do they take cash?
Is this place dog-friendly?
They do not have a patio and do not allow dogs inside for health code reasons, but there is plenty of space to leave your dog in the outside entrance area while you get a coffee.
Is this the location that's pulling shots on a Slayer?
No. They pull shots on a Spirit.
Is there Xfinity or Comcast wifi?
There is, but it might as well not be there. My computer recognizes it, but rarely connects while in the coffee shop. If it does connect, it will be for a minute or two.
