I stopped by Flywheel and for an iced latte after a run in GGP and it was the perfect post-run treat. The latte was super well balanced while still providing a much needed caffeine boost.I also tried my partner's nitro cold brew which was nice and foamy with a smooth roasty flavor. While we didn't stay for long, there's plenty of seating inside and plenty of people working or chatting so it seems like a nice place to hang around for a bit.
I met my girlfriend for a cup of coffee before we went for a walk at the Golden Gate Park. Just reading from reviews; I was kind of second-guessing the place but I had an amazing experience. The guy with a gorgeous hair that assisted us was amazing and was super nice. I ordered americano and since I asked for a splash of oat milk; he didn't charge me for the non dairy milk. This Americano was made to perfection with enough water/espresso ratio, just absolutely delicious. The place was busy with steady line and the only thing I would say that the bathroom needed attending. CC accepted.
This spot is huge and has such a good café vibe. The line was insane on a Saturday morning (as expected), but it actually moves pretty fast. There's plenty of seating throughout, plus a really nice outdoor back patio if you walk all the way through. The coffee was genuinely good. I got a cappuccino and it was perfectly balanced not too strong, not too sweet. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a spacious café to work from. Free WiFi and lots of room to settle in.

Short line moving fast, fast order. everything well organized, no long wait for drink, glasses for water next to a self serice fountain next to pick up counter, no screen asking for a tip, all organic order, no code to use bathroom, great energy in the room, dog friendly, and drink was good! this is a 5 stars on all levels.
What an amazing coffee shop!! I was staying with a friend nearby and we popped into Flywheel. Its not a huge location so definitely be wary of that, but definitely some seating available and lots of people working so great place to hang out for a bit. We got some lattes and took a seat. Such a smooth and delicious drink and a great drink! I ended buying some beans while I was there for the friends I was staying with as a drink. 10/10 overall and would love to try more of their drinks.
Flywheel is a great local chain of coffee shops, they have an amazing location on Haight Ashbury edge of GGP. It's a huge location with lots of indoor seating and even a nice back patio. I got a basic latte and an almond croissant. We got a nice table on the back patio, we were able to talk a while and enjoy the coffee and weather too. I think the coffee is really high quality, the croissant hit the spot. The space was clean and we got the coffees relatively quickly considering how busy it was. Everyone was really nice too. I think it's a great spot for coffee especially with friends, for work too!
Every time I visit Cole Valley Flywheel is my go-to spot for good coffee. Their baristas know exactly what they are doing and I always leave with the perfect cup. Typically I order a pour over or a Cortado. The Cortado always comes out just right, with great flavor and looks great in photos to boot! They almost always have a selection of pastries at the front (if they aren't sold out) and I am often tempted into a doughnut or some other treat. The apple bacon maple doughnut was a fan favorite for me. Fair warning- it does get really busy! That being said, the line tends to go quickly and there is ample seating, so I have never had an issue finding a place to perch. Plus, Flywheel is dog friendly you can bring your pup, which I have done on a few occasions.
Ambiance: it's a public restroom repurposed coffee shop located inside GGP Service: there's only one staff working here, so you'll need to wait for everyone to place their order and pick up their drink before you can process your order, and the barista wasn't very friendly Drink: limited choices on their menu Coffee Latte - *** the foam is very creamy, but the coffee itself is very bland Price: decent quality, expect $5~$7 per drink
Visited during a break from my other office nearby with a coworker, and honestly... I wanted to like it more than I did. The space is beautiful and there is plenty of seating, but every table was taken, so it didn't really matter. It felt more like a co-working hub than a café. What really threw me off was the smoking happening right outside the front door. The smell carried into the shop, and it lingered enough to give me a headache. For a place serving coffee and pastries, the last thing I want to smell is cigarette smoke. They really should consider a no-smoking sign near the entrance. The barista was friendly and gave me a recommendation, which was a nice moment. I went with the iced Americano and a crumble pastry, and my coworker got the chai. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. The pastry couldn't be warmed up, which was disappointing, and both of our drinks were just okay. My coworker even said the chai at the other coffee shop we tried was way better than this one. They do have a cute back area that I didn't notice until we were about to leave--wish we had known earlier. All in all, it's a nice-looking spot with average coffee and a few experience-killers that could be easily fixed. Not a go-to for me, but maybe worth another visit under better conditions.

My one nitpick is that the layout could be improved somewhat (feels a little cramped despite the multiple types of seating options), but service is usually smooth and efficient despite the small serving counter space and the long lines. I especially like their mocha and the chocolate shavings they use (compared to the syrups used by most other shops), and it's reasonably priced compared to other options in the neighborhood.
came here on a sunday morning and waited in line to order for ~10-15mins which was pretty long. the beans are decent but their default cups are small, I paid $6.25 for an iced oat latte and finished it within 5 minutes
Quaint local spot. Casual seating for work or chats. One register for order and await the drink further down the counter. Service is casual/easy and quick. Latte is very smooth. No bitterness.

Clean inside and out. Local first responders patronize this coffee shop. Their menu is well curated and simplified. Service is caring, kind, professional, and quick. I had the pumpkin spice bread and large latte. My friends had the hot chocolate and cappuccino. All were on point and delicious. read more

Great coffee and great location! I got a cold brew prior to walking around Golden Gate Park. The coffee was bold and smooth and the cafe had good proximity to the Golden Gate Park. The service was fast and friendly. The interior is very spacious with limited outdoor seating in the back. Good vibes all around! read more

After a walk in Golden Gate Park, my friend and I decided to try out Flywheel Coffee Roasters nearby. As we arrived, there was a line forming out the door, so I had a good impression that the coffee was good. Slowly making our way inside, I was impressed with the interior and aesthetic of the cafe. Many people were doing work on tables or just having casual conversations. We waited about 10 minutes in line to order our drinks. NOTE: they don't have flavored syrups because they said they don't sweeten their drinks. One worker said they have a little station at the end of the coffee bar with only simple syrup and honey if we do want to sweeten it. With that, I was under the impression that they believe in the quality of their coffee, which I respect. So I proceeded to order a Mocha, which I was sadly disappointed in. My Mocha did not taste like a mocha at all, I barely got hints of chocolate and tasted watered down. Towards the end of my drink, I see that there is a lot of chocolate at the bottom of my cup and my drink is super grainy. My mocha wasn't mixed properly and that disappointed me. I want to give this place a higher rating, but my first experience just wasn't the best read more

Flywheel is maybe my favorite thing about my neighborhood. It'll be a real loss for the Haight if they ever leave. The folks here know and care about coffee, the drinks are great and very consistent. And it's the perfect place to read or get some work done. It's also SUPER dog friendly. I love people watching and dog watching here. The staff absolutely love dogs too. The staff have always been great to me. Don't waste their time, don't be loud, don't smoke near the entrance, don't hog space without making a purchase occasionally. Tip well, be kind, and you'll have a great experience. read more
I love flywheel but I feel like they do compromise quality when it's busy! I prefer the FiDi location over the one near the park as the baristas take more time with their drinks. My husband and I came here over a weekend to try a new coffee shop. He ordered an iced black coffee and I got an iced dirty chai. They were pretty good. I also got a chocolate donut. It was okay but didn't taste sweet so it didn't scratch my itch. The staff were nice and looked very hipster. There was a lot of seating near the front and scattered throughout the back towards the patio. read more
I like it. The coffee was good, the place is a bit dark and slightly gloomy and a bit industrial. They have a commercial coffee roaster towards the back? Whoa. So serious. So cute and tiny! Barely any coffee. Awe what a cute little artisanal coffee shop overcharging 6 bucks for 25 seconds of drinking. How San Francisco ! Great coffee shop, came during a colder and wetter day which might explain why there a line or many people (in comparison to the other reviews saying there is a wait). I got a regular latte and the time from order to receiving was only a few minutes. Dogs are welcome, which is always appreciated, there is even a little dog bowl by the door. There is also plenty of seating to get some work done, both tables and couches. I enjoyed my latte. Semi pricey for the size of the drink but for San Francisco I would say it's the usual cost. Very balanced latte without it being too bitter or too milk forward. Would come back if I happen to be in the area again. read more

Located next to the Golden Gate Park, flywheel roasters is a modern coffee shop. The flat white was extremely good, deep and rich. They also have a delicious affogato if you're looking for a caffeinated dessert . The cafe is usually busy and it takes a bit to get your coffee but it doesn't disappoint. read more

Visited Flywheel last Saturday since we were nearby & wanted to warm up from our bike. The interior looks pretty cool & has a kind of industrial feel with market lights. However, it was chilly inside - both doors were open so we didn't end up too warm. We ordered a latte & a mocha, & after waiting and seeing everyone else behind us get their orders we went up to ask about ours. Apparently, they forgot to call it out so it was just sitting there. They did remake it which was nice, but the coffee was just okay in my opinion. read more

Ok flywheel is really out here making crazy good coffee, I had the best affogato ever They are the only other coffee shop doing siphon coffee i recommend trying that if you're ever in the area and have time Don't forget to tip Flywheel pays attention to the way they are roasting the beans and serving the espresso From the cups to the ambiance this place is winning The baristas are very relaxed terrible attitude but they pay attention to the way they are pulling their shots Good stuff flywheel read more
I stopped by last Thursday afternoon for some coffee since my friend recommended Flywheel to me! I was able to find a seat at one of the high top long tables (while sharing with another individual), but in general, the place was pretty full despite lots of seating. SIPHON - 9 I forgot which roast I selected (definitely a light roast) but I wanted to try the siphon method of coffee brewing since a couple of my friends hyped it up. You can only get the siphon coffee if you enjoy the coffee at the shop, though. The coffee was extremely smooth and clean but the coffee was really acidic and intense, more than it was bright and enjoyable. I wasn't a huge fan of the roast, unfortunately. This coffee shop is well beloved, and I can see why. I ordered a hot chai latte and wanted to slowly sip on it but ended up downing it. Maybe the mug made me enjoy the drink more so. I think it's so cute how they write your order on the cup with chalk~it's about the little things. The layout of the interior is very interesting with many seating styles. There are highchairs, sofas, shareable tables, and outside patio space. Seating still felt limited due to how busy this cafe tends to stay, but I can see myself coming back and spending a whole day working if I could snag an outlet. read more
