they moved to a standalone, more spacious store with a beautiful rebrand! love the vibes and the seasonal lattes they still offer, as well as the punchcards for their regulars. the staff are sweet and chatty, and the earl grey latte is delicious!

Cute little coffee spot located inside of a very busy sandwich shop. It only took a couple minutes to order, and right after I ordered, my drink was immediately ready. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good! It's on par with all of the upper middle rated coffee places in sf. It's a great place to grab coffee if you're in the area.

Very cool coffee spot next to a sandwich joint in a garage... love that you can buy some caffeinated bevvies and take them for a stroll in the park. Totally the SF vibe on a hilly street and people outside... the folks working the stall were okay - did their jobs and had service with a smile. Definitely a place worth stopping by to have a nice something in hand when visiting Alamo Park

I've been literally blown away. This is genuinely one of the best matcha and coffee lattes I've tried in a while. You can truly taste the matcha and coffee without it being too sweet or too bitter, and overall it was super yummy. It's a little shop, so if there's a line don't be discouraged, it'll go by fast. The baristas were so nice and patient while I was deciding what to order. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

I stopped by for a black sesame matcha latte ($7) on a cold day and appreciated the kind and quick service. The flavor of the latte confused me though because it didn't taste like black sesame and the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I would've liked. My sister tried it too and agreed that the black sesame flavor wasn't representative. It was still a pleasant drink, but not what I was expecting. There are such great reviews for this place though that I'd be willing to come back and try more drinks.

Yesss had the signature seasonal, the early gray latte and it was YUMMY. Great iced matcha too! Will be back

After a few days exploring San Francisco, I can confidently say Third Wheel Coffee was the best coffee of the trip! Tucked inside a small deli shop, it has a cozy, quaint vibe with super friendly service. Bonus: dogs are welcome, so we even got to meet some of the regulars (the four-legged ones). We ordered from the Seasonal Specials menu. The Fig & Honey Latte was one of the best lattes I've had in a long time, balanced, rich, and just sweet enough. The Pistachio Rose Matcha was equally impressive, with the perfect matcha color and a floral, nutty flavor that wasn't overly sweet. Both drinks were beautifully crafted and memorable. If you're in the area, don't miss Third Wheel Coffee. It's a true hidden gem.

Hidden little gem with a laid back vibe. Came in for our morning drinks before starting our day. The staff were friendly and everything came out really quick. Drinks: blackberry latte, cortado, mocha latte, and iced matcha Pastries: Ham & Cheese croissant and passion fruit kouign amann Recommended if you want something quick to go.

Do not get an iced matcha. While the drink looks really green, it's only tasted like milk. I had a bad feeling once I saw the matcha wasn't freshly made. It was in a squeeze bottle that they poured into a cup then added milk. Regrets.

Visit during their soft opening week early morning (a bit after 7a) & there were already a line of folks craving caffeine & to congratulate Vida & her team on their new space. Decor and space looks great & got myself a drip coffee which was great without creamer. Stop on by for great drinks & vibe if you havent-

BlackBerry crumble Latte

TL;DR Charming takeout-only coffee spot near Alamo Square with friendly staff and creative drinks. Loved the blackberry crumble latte and pistachio croissant, though the berry flavor could be stronger. Great for grabbing a cozy drink before heading to the park. --- Me and some of my friends were looking for a coffee shop around Alamo Square Park, and we decided to come here due to the impeccable reviews they have been receiving. It's a really small place that shares a space with a sandwich shop. Be wary that this place has no seats or lounging areas, but no worries since the park is super close by and you can enjoy your coffee there. Once ordering, the staff was really nice when I was asking questions about the different coffees they had, though I was quite inquisitive. I settled on one of their seasonal offerings of the blackberry crumble latte and the pistachio chocolate croissant. The coffee came out super quick, and I thought the latte tasted great especially when paired with the pastry, though I will note I had trouble tasting the blackberry component. Maybe this could be enhanced to allow for that contrast. The story of this cafe on how they opened was cute and was apparent in how caring and lovely the business was. I could really feel the love and joy they put into their business and into making each cup. I would definitely consider checking this place out if you're near the area.

Went to the Grand Opening today at Third Wheel's brick and mortar location. This place rocks. Best coffee and drinks in the city with a curated selection of seasonal specials that keep things interesting, but also the classics perfected. They're starting to make ice cream in-house as well for affogato which I enjoyed today. The pastries taste delicious, whether you go with a sweet or savory option (and my wife and I have tried most of them at this point). The new location is a must visit as they've grown so much since their original location in Lucinda's and did such a nice job with the design. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Another cold day in SF where I really wanted a mocha. I'd heard of this place before from TikTok and such so decided to finally try it. I had no idea it was located in the same space as Lucinda's deli (another spot I'll try and review later). The space is pretty small and right as you enter you're welcomed by some pretty cool merch and to your immediate right is the cafe. The baristas are super friendly and great at connecting with everyone placing an order. I let them know I typically have a sweet tooth and would like to have this mocha on the sweeter side and they immediately offered a couple ways they could sweeten it on their end. Best mocha I've had in the city is all I can really say from there.

They explained that the flight includes an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I hadn't had a straight espresso shot before, so this wasn't for me personally just because it was so overpowering. I enjoyed the other three though. Like the majority of SF, parking is difficult to locate. I was dropped off nearby the location. There is indoor and outdoor seating; I was able to grab an empty spot late in the morning on a weekend, but I don't think seating is always readily available. It's not a huge space.

At 11 am on a Sunday they were out of their best- black sesame Kouign Amann and the Raspberry Almond Croissant, which I took care of by paying a visit to Juniper bakery (sister business) later in the day. The Mocha with the house made nut milk fell flat. It needed something. I am not a fan of syrupy coffees and appreciate the more purist approach but this one just didn't do anything for me. The chai latte which I would never order was actually the best chai latte I have ever had, it was smooth like silk. Maybe I just had the wrong coffee order. Besides that, got the hot chocolate and the coffee tasting. I was surprised there was no explanation provided with the coffee- I figured it's all Honduran but an overview of some sort would have helped. I enjoyed all the coffees in there except the latte. Will visit again, earlier in the day so they are not out of their best sellers and try a different order.

Quality/Quantity - What?!?! Another business that I do not have a review on?!?!…read moreBut I see my pictures from the past...? We (my wife and daughter) are regular customers here. 3 people in line when we got here before they opened and customers in line after us, congrats on your success. A simple menu done well. My wife ALWAYS gets the Kiss of Matcha; their signature item. And my daughter mixes it up, trying everything (at my expense, lol). Ambiance - A small take-away location. Street metered parking, free on Sundays. Service - Self service kiosk. Price - $21, expensive, but that is the cost for quality. And my wife and daughter are worth it! Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success at this location since 2022 and with your 3 locations.

Kiss of Matcha is a dessert café centered around matcha-based drinks and Japanese-inspired sweets…read more We walked into a cozy, compact space with a focus on matcha flavors, offering everything from soft serve and parfaits to lattes, hojicha drinks, and small desserts. The concept works well for anyone looking for a place that treats matcha as the main ingredient rather than just adding it as a trendy flavor, and the energy of the shop stays calm and inviting, making it a good spot for a focused dessert stop. The biggest highlight is the matcha soft serve, which has a stronger tea flavor compared to many sweeter matcha desserts. We ordered a cup and found the flavor leaning slightly earthy and bitter, giving it a more authentic matcha profile while still staying creamy and approachable. The Kiss of Matcha Parfait is another standout, combining different textures with matcha, toppings, and dessert elements that make it feel more complete than a simple scoop. The layers of the parfait were well composed, with the matcha soft serve, mochi, and crunchy elements coming together in a way that kept each bite interesting. The hojicha options are also worth trying if you prefer a roasted tea flavor that is smoother and less intense, and the hojicha soft serve offered a warm, toasted note that contrasted nicely with the brighter matcha. The menu has a nice mix of drinks and desserts, with items like croffles, mochi, and dango adding more variety beyond the usual matcha latte. The croffle is a good pairing with the drinks since the crisp texture works well with the richer flavors, and we found it held up well against the cream and toppings. There are also non-matcha options like vanilla soft serve, which makes it easier to visit with a group where everyone has different preferences, and the variety across the menu gives you room to explore beyond the matcha offerings. The space is smaller, so it feels more like a quick dessert stop rather than a place to spend hours. Seating is limited, but the cozy decoration and outdoor seating options make it a comfortable spot to enjoy your order when space is available. The indoor area is thoughtfully arranged, and the outdoor seating adds a nice option for warmer days. Service can vary depending on how busy it gets, but the overall experience is centered more around the quality of the desserts, and the staff are friendly and efficient when handling the flow of orders. Kiss of Matcha is a strong choice for matcha lovers looking for desserts with a deeper tea flavor. The combination of quality matcha, creative dessert options, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a spot worth returning to, especially if you enjoy trying different matcha creations. The balance of authentic flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a relaxed environment makes it a destination for a more intentional matcha experience.

Community-oriented cafe in the Outer Sunset district!…read more Blackbird is located across the street from Hook Fish, meaning that parking is packed and hard to find, so use public transit! I have gone to Blackbird a handful of times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Blackbird is primarily a bookstore, but they do have an outdoor window where you can order drinks ranging from matcha (Rocky's Matcha, if you're curious about which brand they use), lattes, and tea. They also carry a good amount of pastries (even mid-day, they have a lot of goodies), which I really appreciated. When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. This time around, I got one of their seasonal drinks, a honey lavender vanilla latte, and I paired it with an Earl Grey olive oil loaf. The portion of the pastry was generous and moist, while the icing was not too sweet. Overall, a great pick for a cafe if you're in the area.

Olive oil spelt cake: It reminds me of pound cake. Not that sweet except the frosting/icing. It was okay but as someone who's not as fond of that kind of cakey texture, I'd probably not get it again. They have a really lovely garden and patio in the back. There is also a bathroom. The acoustics and set up for events isn't great, though. It was hard for me to concentrate on the speaker for the book talk since you can hear the noises from the cafe behind and also the sounds of other store customers all around you. That was the only downside, but I think it's a very charming bookstore otherwise.

Brief Summary: - New favorite place to eat mille crepe cake…read more- Not so sweet, easy to eat - Beautiful and peaceful interior - Near the MUNI N line I was looking for a new cake place to try, so when I searched for one in San Francisco, this one appeared in the first page. It was near the districts I like to go, and because I haven't been there in a while, I thought it was a good opportunity to visit here. This cake shop is very close to one of the MUNI line stops if you take the N line. The store had a sign propped up with the list of the mille crepe cakes and some of the chiffon. The basque cheesecake selection were not one there, so I assume that these are new items. The interior of this shop is so cute. It's as if I walked in a quaint early spring environment. The initial plan was to buy the cakes to take home, but I was now interested to stay to have a drink before buying the cake. There were seats in the further end of the building, so we sat there, relaxed while drinking coffee. I ordered 3 different cakes of different flavors - earl grey mille crepe cake - pandan chiffon cake - tiramisu basque cheese cake If someone asked me which one I liked the most, I would take time deciding because I loved all of them. All of them were not so sweet and also easier to eat; even the basque cheesecake. I showed the basque cheesecake photo to my colleague, and they were surprised: 'it's almost like having 2 cakes in 1!' was the memorable response to it. I also loved the mille crepe cake. This one left a fun and colorful impression of crepe cakes. I got the earl grey and I loved how it was almost like drinking an earl grey tea at the same time. I tasted the bergamot oil from the tea. I also liked how the crepe cake was overall moist and juicy (I wonder if it's because I chose a tea themed crepe cake?) I love the chiffon cake, and this also topped with the bias of me loving pandan. I was also surprised that the cream area was not just cream but packed with coconut meat. It gave a nice chewy flavor in between the cushion soft cake layer. The cake top decoration is so subtle yet gorgeous, it's a great cake to serve on celebrations too.

The cafe is clean and bright and staff was friendly. We thought about dining in but the one available table was dirty and no one had wiped down the food stains, so we decided to take the desserts home. I thought the hazelnut chocolate was OK. The nuts were not fresh and crunchy. I liked the tiramisu much better but it's not in anyway better than a real tiramisu cake. It was interesting to eating thin layers of pancakes nicely frosted with cream. It is obviously a labor of love to make. There's a lot of different flavors but I'm on the fence about trying another one.
