First time. Finally was able to pull over and grab a coffee. Normally, there is a line and now I know why. Friendly service, efficient staff, and quality drinks in a comfortable environment. Nice pastry options as well as other items to purchase including branded Fellows items, housemade syrups, and clothes. Overall, a great place for your caffeine fix
Amazing matcha! I wasn't expecting a ton since it's a coffee shop but the matcha I got was so so good. I got the seasonal white peach matcha and it was the perfect amount of sweet, and the matcha was a beautiful vibrant green color. Latte art was beautiful too. The staff is also super friendly and the shop has overall great vibes.
Came here on a whim one Saturday afternoon with a friend and was surprised by how much I liked the matcha. It was pretty chill inside a very small establishment and unassuming from the outside and without any seating on the inside, there were a few folks in line who are also getting sandwiches so they sell that in addition to coffee. The matcha was creamy and light, the way I like it. If you're ever in your Alamo Square, check it out!
I ordered a seasonal blackberry crumble latte. It was surprisingly delicious. This was my first time visiting and trying a drink it won't be my last. The homemade blackberry syrup was soooo yummy. The coffee flavor and mixture was perfect. I enjoyed every last drop of it. The cafe itself is small but there is enough seating for around 5-6 people. They also serve pastries but were out by the time I got there.
I was excited to see Third Wheel Coffee open up their permanent location and stopped by to grab coffee on a Friday morning! I was surprised to see a line but it moved quickly. I tried their seasonal Tangelo Honey Latte and the Yuzu-Shiso Fizz (with 2 shots of espresso added). I enjoyed the housemade tangelo honey syrup which was light and not too sweet but the latte itself was on the weaker side and too diluted with oat milk for my taste. I like the yuzu-shiso fizz more as the shiso really came through and it was a nice and refreshing option if you're looking for something without milk. Overall cute spot to have in the neighborhood! I just wish the coffee was a bit stronger.
The only thing I got to try here was their hot rose late, iced honey latte, and iced vanilla pine latte. And honestly I've had better coffee. I'd recommend the vanilla pine latte, that was good! Everything else was average but they make everything themselves which is pretty cool and their merch is high quality.
Cute little coffee spot located inside of a very busy sandwich shop. It only took a couple minutes to order, and right after I ordered, my drink was immediately ready. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good! It's on par with all of the upper middle rated coffee places in sf. It's a great place to grab coffee if you're in the area.

You can truly taste the matcha and coffee without it being too sweet or too bitter, and overall it was super yummy. It's a little shop, so if there's a line don't be discouraged, it'll go by fast. The baristas were so nice and patient while I was deciding what to order. I couldn't recommend this place enough!
Very cool coffee spot next to a sandwich joint in a garage... love that you can buy some caffeinated bevvies and take them for a stroll in the park. Totally the SF vibe on a hilly street and people outside... the folks working the stall were okay - did their jobs and had service with a smile. Definitely a place worth stopping by to have a nice something in hand when visiting Alamo Park
they moved to a standalone, more spacious store with a beautiful rebrand! love the vibes and the seasonal lattes they still offer, as well as the punchcards for their regulars. the staff are sweet and chatty, and the earl grey latte is delicious!
After a few days exploring San Francisco, I can confidently say Third Wheel Coffee was the best coffee of the trip! Tucked inside a small deli shop, it has a cozy, quaint vibe with super friendly service. Bonus: dogs are welcome, so we even got to meet some of the regulars (the four-legged ones). We ordered from the Seasonal Specials menu. The Fig & Honey Latte was one of the best lattes I've had in a long time, balanced, rich, and just sweet enough. The Pistachio Rose Matcha was equally impressive, with the perfect matcha color and a floral, nutty flavor that wasn't overly sweet. Both drinks were beautifully crafted and memorable. If you're in the area, don't miss Third Wheel Coffee. It's a true hidden gem.
I stopped by for a black sesame matcha latte ($7) on a cold day and appreciated the kind and quick service. The flavor of the latte confused me though because it didn't taste like black sesame and the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I would've liked. My sister tried it too and agreed that the black sesame flavor wasn't representative. It was still a pleasant drink, but not what I was expecting. There are such great reviews for this place though that I'd be willing to come back and try more drinks.
Hidden little gem with a laid back vibe. Came in for our morning drinks before starting our day. The staff were friendly and everything came out really quick. Drinks: blackberry latte, cortado, mocha latte, and iced matcha Pastries: Ham & Cheese croissant and passion fruit kouign amann Recommended if you want something quick to go.

This place is the BEST!!! My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Literally every barista I've encountered there has been so lovely and the owners are super friendly too. Love that they have a rotating menu. The coffee just hits every time. I legit had a moment of panic when I saw they were moving out of Lucinda's and was beyond relieved when it was just a few blocks away. NEVER CHANGE!!!! My favorites from this spot: 1. The location - right on Oak street with outdoor benches and convenient outlets for charging your devices (not all spots have this unfortunately) 2. Drink menu: I typically drink strong Yemeni coffee, I ordered a blueberry crumble latte and really liked it. It was tart, not loaded with sugar and adequately caffeinated. Some places use coffee weak beans. read more

TL;DR Charming takeout-only coffee spot near Alamo Square with friendly staff and creative drinks. Loved the blackberry crumble latte and pistachio croissant, though the berry flavor could be stronger. Great for grabbing a cozy drink before heading to the park. --- Me and some of my friends were looking for a coffee shop around Alamo Square Park, and we decided to come here due to the impeccable reviews they have been receiving. It's a really small place that shares a space with a sandwich shop. Be wary that this place has no seats or lounging areas, but no worries since the park is super close by and you can enjoy your coffee there. Once ordering, the staff was really nice when I was asking questions about the different coffees they had, though I was quite inquisitive. I settled on one of their seasonal offerings of the blackberry crumble latte and the pistachio chocolate croissant. The coffee came out super quick, and I thought the latte tasted great especially when paired with the pastry, though I will note I had trouble tasting the blackberry component. Maybe this could be enhanced to allow for that contrast. The story of this cafe on how they opened was cute and was apparent in how caring and lovely the business was. I could really feel the love and joy they put into their business and into making each cup. I would definitely consider checking this place out if you're near the area. read more

Do not get an iced matcha. While the drink looks really green, it's only tasted like milk. I had a bad feeling once I saw the matcha wasn't freshly made. It was in a squeeze bottle that they poured into a cup then added milk. Regrets. read more

Another cold day in SF where I really wanted a mocha. I'd heard of this place before from TikTok and such so decided to finally try it. I had no idea it was located in the same space as Lucinda's deli (another spot I'll try and review later). The space is pretty small and right as you enter you're welcomed by some pretty cool merch and to your immediate right is the cafe. The baristas are super friendly and great at connecting with everyone placing an order. I let them know I typically have a sweet tooth and would like to have this mocha on the sweeter side and they immediately offered a couple ways they could sweeten it on their end. Best mocha I've had in the city is all I can really say from there. read more

Coffee bar that shares the same space as a sandwich shop. Stopped by here for brunch with my boyfriend and it was a delicious spot. They had matcha and coffee options (in addition to affogato). Both our lattes were incredibly smooth and tasty. We grabbed a chocolate mochi muffin as well as a ham and cheese croissant. There wasn't any seating so we went to the park nearby to eat on the grass. You pay first before receiving your order on the right hand side of the counter. Highly recommend this spot for grabbing takeout caffeine in the morning. read more

Yes yes yes! This place deserves all the hype for its coffee! I tried out their iced latte w rose cardamom for a very reasonable total of $5.50! Definitely a rare find in the city. The coffee was delicious, the rose cardamom added a sweet, spiced subtlety without overpowering the drink itself. 10/10 highly recommend! My friends also tried their lavender syrup and seasonal vanilla pine! Based on your preferences, these are also excellent choices :) The coffee shop itself is located inside Lucinda's Deli and is grab&go with no seating. Near alamo park so perfect to take your coffee for a walk :) The drinks are made immediately to order and handed to you before you even pay. Went to the Grand Opening today at Third Wheel's brick and mortar location. This place rocks. Best coffee and drinks in the city with a curated selection of seasonal specials that keep things interesting, but also the classics perfected. They're starting to make ice cream in-house as well for affogato which I enjoyed today. The pastries taste delicious, whether you go with a sweet or savory option (and my wife and I have tried most of them at this point). The new location is a must visit as they've grown so much since their original location in Lucinda's and did such a nice job with the design. Couldn't recommend highly enough! read more

I'm ruined -- the Pumpkin Spice Latte at third wheel is exactly what I've always wanted a PSL to taste like and now I can never enjoy one from anywhere else ever again! It tastes like... spice and pumpkin(!), not overly sugary syrup masking overly roasted bitter beans. AND my orange blossom cardamom pastry was delicious. Nice to get a break from Starter Bakery goods which seem to be everywhere. 10/10 read more

The staff that runs Third Wheel Coffee are coincidentally the most Zen people you'll meet. You'd think the opposite would be true. Third Wheel has superior coffee, well priced and the taste is so smooth. They also had tempting cookies. They share a space with Lucinda's Deli in a cute garden level storefront on Scott Street, steps from the west side of Alamo Square Park. Recommend! read more

Third Wheel Coffee is a cute little cafe near Alamo Square Park. The storefront is not the type of cafe you can sit and do work in. It is a pick up and go type of cafe, so be wary of that if it is something that is important for you. The baristas were so kind and provided great service. The was basically no wait for my drinks either. They were quick with it. I really enjoyed the coffee I had. The espresso in the cortado tasted great. Whoever dialed in the coffee did really good. The temperature was also perfect for a cortado. 100% pleasant experience. The coconut cold brew was also pretty good. I think it is really cool how they used a fat wash method for this. read more
A super small coffee spot in SF with a really good latte! I came to Third Wheel Coffee pretty much with no expectations but I ended up really enjoying it! It's located inside a deli and the friendly barista that served me was really nice. I got the Iced Latte with the Rose & Cardamom syrup. I don't think I ever had that before in my coffee and I really liked it! Their latte was smooth and there wasn't anything overpowering for the floral notes of the syrup. It's like a nice subtle sweetness and it was a really nice brewed iced coffee. A small and wonderful location in the neighborhood! read more
I came by to grab a sandwich from Lucinda's but showed up too late and they were sold out. I'm always one to search for the silver lining and Third Wheel Coffee was that. I talked to the very nice staff member and asked some questions about the coffee. It was already 2:30pm and I had a few cups of coffee earlier in the day so I opted for one of the sweeter, specialty options. I ended up ordering the Blackberry Crumble Cappuccino ($6) and a Samovar Chai Latte- iced ($5.25). They were both done quickly and I was on my way in no time. The location is a pickup/ to go spot and there aren't really any places to sit there. If you head in earlier than I did, it would be a great spot to pick up a sandwich and drink and head out to a park or back home. We ended up enjoying our drinks on the ride home to Sacramento. I hope to come by again soon and enjoy both Lucinda's and Third Wheel Coffee together. read more

Their coffee is reasonably priced, especially with all the super expensive coffee shops in SF. I got a latte with honey syrup and loved it!
