Very spacious and artistic layout, another good place to chill or work. They do play background music but overall pretty quiet. Stopped by to try the coffee on a Friday afternoon around 3pm, no wait and seats available. The coffee was decent, with subtle hints of rose flavor. They normally just do standard coffee drinks with a few seasonal speciality options.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the mission, and it was a cute find! It's quite vibey, and the coffee roasters are in the back. There's tons of tables and seating, and the area is so spacious -- it's great place for doing some work or studying. The menu is pretty limited to coffee drinks with some specialty seasonal drinks. There's also pastries too! I tried the cappuccino with oat, and my bf ordered the affogato. The coffee beans are a little too acidic for my liking, but the sweetness from the ice cream in the affogato really balanced the flavor. Drinks come out fast, and the staff is super friendly! Highly recommend to check it out!

I went here on a Friday morning. The place was busy and packed. The coffeeshop is spacious. There were ppl talking or people on their laptops. They only serve coffee, meaning no specialty flavored drinks. My friend ordered our drinks while I saved our seats. The service seems great and the place is pretty big. You can see the staff roasting the beans in the back. My latte was good. I ordered oat milk but it tasted like either 1% milk or non fat milk. Luckily, I wasn't allergic to dairy so I didn't bother to bring it up to the staff. Also, I normally get flavored drinks but the latte was good. I would go back

Thought this was a really cute coffee shop! The ambiance is super cool and spacious, loved the interior. We ordered a drip coffee and a matcha latte. The drip coffee was really good, kinda tasted like chocolate which I really liked! The iced matcha latte was kinda mediocre tbh, and just tasted like milk, but I guess this is a coffee place and not matcha so fair. Overall would still come back again, but would definitely stick to their coffee menu!

My husband and I swung by for some coffee before work. Minimal metered street parking but a plus if you go early enough before meters start. Four Barrel is unassuming from outside with no signs and looked small, but I was pleasantly surprised on how grand the interior was with an incredible floor to ceiling height. Very well lit, open floor plan and can see the entire storefront from the entrance. Minimal aesthetics, including seats. No line when we ordered but that quickly changed after we sat down with our pastries. Most seats were filled, some furry pets friends, it was lively and welcoming. Everything came out to be north of $40 for 2 pastries and 1 latte and 1 mocha (including tax and tip). Mocha was good, bitter. Went well with the pastries. Drinks took some time, beautiful latter art. Bus your own tables, they have a dish bin towards the back receded in a table.

a pretty big cafe with a lovely ambiance to work, study, or chat. the pastries were pretty expensive (and drinks too): - caramel ganache latte (seasonal) ($7.75): latte art was lovely, the caramel wasn't too sweet - earl grey olive oil cake ($6.25): the cake itself was pretty moist, but I wish the cake also had eary grey flavor in it (only the icing did)

Very modern and cool place to visit and try really good coffee. There are small tables for small groups mostly. Dogs friendly. The service was nice and friendly. There is a restroom at the back. Street parking is available, but limited. So it is better to park a little bit further and just have a walk along the street.

This coffee shop is in a wooden warehouse setting with high ceilings. Folks are right to rave about their peppermint white chocolate mocha -- it is scrumptious and a perfect balance of sweet and pepperminty. I also got an olive oil pound cake per the baristas recommendation. I also like that they had instant, single origin, decaf coffee boxes. I will be back!

This review is just for the pastries and atmosphere, since I didn't get a drink. The salted chocolate babka is yummy, but felt pricey for its size (around $7 total). Fast service since I didn't order a drink, so they just handed my pastry on a plate immediately after ordering. It would've been nice if they offered to heat it up, but it was still good. Cool, modern vibes with tall ceilings and a spacious interior, some tables inside and outside (honestly could use more), but not a very study/work-friendly place since the tables are SUPER skinny and my friends said the WiFi is slow. We had brought homework, laptops, and books to use while yapping, and it was a struggle fitting everything on the tables. Still a cool place, but I wouldn't bring much with me next time.

I checked this place out recently and although not really a fan of the location, I was surprised because the interior was much larger than I expected - and definitely feels like they expanded recently. It was well lit and reminded me somewhat of The Mill on divisadero, except for the sweet smelling bread! but you get to see the actual coffee beans being roasted at the back and you could also grab some seats to watch it in action! I really liked the coffee as I have always like Four Barrel bean coffees sold at other locations like Brecks. People were also very friendly but it was little bit quiet maybe due to the holiday season. Will definitely visit again!

Coffee is hit or miss. But the last time I went, I got an iced latte that tasted amazing. The coffee was fragrant and it tasted almost like caramel. This combined with a nice environment - high ceilings and an open bean roastery.

    iced oat milk latte

got an iced latte, super sour, awful espresso taste. how are they serving this and getting away with this? how is rent still paid? So sick of people not holding large established coffee shops in the city to a higher standard. Inside is nice but the coffee is objectively atrocious - like someone's first espresso shot they've ever pulled with a broken machine and moldy beans

Good coffee and service. The earl grey pastry was ok. Plenty seating though limited table room. No WiFi, not recommended study spot.

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.
