Cute Latin coffee shop in the Mission! There's a good amount of seats and I can see this being a great spot to catch up with friends. I got the Cafe Con Morro which is a latte with morro syrup, made from morro seeds giving it an earthy and sweet flavor. You can get it less sweet which I appreciate and at about 30% sweet, it was perfect for me! Abanico is less well-known than other coffee shops in the Mission but this is definitely a hidden gem to check out.
Lovely vibes and ambiance with plenty of seating and great music. I enjoyed my cortadito, which was creamy, sweet, and nice and strong. My friend's iced coffee was just okay. The service was friendly and quick. The mural is beautiful, and they sell local artists' stickers, pottery, and other crafts in the back. They sell croissants, homemade Rice Krispie treats, and loaves to pair with the coffee.
I walked in this cafe because I had to go to bathroom, haha. I ordered hojicha latte. The place was spacious, and I was not rushed to leave, which I really liked. There was some Latin music playing and also some arts were displayed inside of the cafe. The service was very nice. Baristas were very kind:) I may go back :)

This place has become one of my go to spots. The latte art is seriously perfect every time, and the baristas are super friendly. It's bright, cozy, and a great place to get work done. I also love that the menu is more unique, with flavors like cinnamon and condensed milk. Highly recommend!

Drinks also came out quick. The inside is a vibe, with a few tables for doing work, but an area to glance at artwork posted around the coffee shop. It feels like a nice getaway from the outside world.
When I first walked in here, there was a pop up from a local pottery studio that let patrons paint mugs that would be used throughout the cafe. I really enjoyed how community-oriented the entire experience was and really reminded me of why I fell in love with the cafes in sf! As far as the drinks go, they have a pretty unique selection, and I ended up going for the cafe can coco y choco which was a silky latte with rich notes of chocolate -- super good!
Stopped in for a coffee saturday at 9am. Surprised this place wasn't packed for how delicious my latte was. I recommend the cafe con morro. The kind of latte you are happy to have paid for, in a mug, and with some latte art! It was actually so good that we came back the second day just to get the coffee again....

Abanico has a rich coffee/tea menu, and the space itself has comfy seating and tables- a great spot to WFH or catch up with a friend over coffee. I like how it's a slow moving coffee shop, I didn't feel rushed to finish my coffee and leave. It was very calm and chill vibes. I got the Con Espumita cubana- a small espresso with whipped turbinated sugar and it was so good, very rich!
Hot chocolate was great! The staff was friendly and offered some non-caffeinated options for me. It's a cozy spot to sit in during the rain. My friend chatted for two hours and the ambiance was great. I'll stop by if I'm in the area next time.
Came on a Sunday morning around 10:30am, cafe was pretty relaxed only a few other guest so there was ample seating and space. They do have a variety of pastries available as well. Drink: Cafe Con Leche - a nice creamy latte with a dash of cinnamon and I requested lightly sweetened with the condensed milk Service was great so warm and friendly with great recommendations and very accommodating. Overall a nice spot to grab a cup of coffee with Latin influence for the specialty beverages while roaming the mission.
Really solid coffee. Had two espresso shots. They don't do single origin so it was the house bean which was real nice. Staff was friendly. Decor was nice. Mission outside is its usual shitshow self. Very worthwhile place to get a coffee.

Such a lovely bright cafe with such lovely people. The coffee is always delicious especially when paired with the syrups made in house. This is easily one of my favorite cafes to soak up good energy and to get my coffee fix. I also love how beautiful the space is- from the Jagel mural behind the bar to the wall of beans for sale and the gorgeous pottery available made by local artists. Everything done here is done with so much intention and love, which you can feel. This place is a gem! read more
Cute & spacious cafe with good vibes and nice music. Loved the plants, decor, and colorful mural inside. There were only a few other people at 8:30am on a weekend. The americano was okay, and the café con leche was delicious and not too sweet. Service was friendly & fast. It's a nice cafe to hang out or get some work done. I was a little wary trying out their coffee with coco(a) but Yelpers kept raving about it so I decided to put my skepticism aside and give it a try. It was delicious! They perfectly marry really good quality of coffee with bold Latin American flavors and it pays off big time. Alas, there can be too good of a great thing as I discovered soon enough after I downed my second coffee and became a jittery dizzy mess. Their banana bread was meh, but I feel like I set the bar for that sky high after eating amazing ones elsewhere. Staff was really friendly. My work hosted a coffee session so I was able to try the: Iced Cafe de Olla (my fav) Cafe con Leche Cafe con Morro I have now become, dare I say, a coffee drinker. :) Can't wait to visit this spot in store. $6 for a 10 ounce cup of cold brew. Half the cup is filled with ice. What a rip off. When even starsucks is cheaper then you know you're getting taken advantage of. Aaand the coffee is weak af. read more
Stopped by with my cousin and we ordered the Café Con Coco y Choco and it was absolutely delicious! We were tempted to get a second one! The staff here is really chill and nice and attended us well. There's plenty of seating in here and doesn't get overly crowded (we stopped by on a rainy Saturday morning) I love all of the artwork displayed, as well as the ceramic mugs in here! read more

Beautiful and perfectly fitting cafecito shop in the middle of Mission. Commend them for sticking it out through the pandemic and challenges it brought to SF and the community. The decor pays homage to art work that lines the walls of nearby alleys, and feels really well placed in this Mission. I ordered the Cafe con Morro which takes its name from the morro seeds (and allspice), which are also used in Salvadoran horchata! It's not overly sweet- you still taste the strong Mexican beans from @mayanharvestcoffee, balanced and layered. Overall a great experience that I hope continues to be available for Mission visitors and residents alike. read more
You really don't quite expect such a calm open space on Mission, a neighborhood abuzz with taquerias, clubs, and a lot of entitled people who come up behind me on their scooters and scare the bejesus out of me. I hope they fall over so I have something to clean the canine fecal matter off my shoe. But not here as it was quite relaxing just to enter the premises. Owner Ana Valle has successfully created a chill environment just in the warm way she greets neophyte customers like me. True to her Salvadoran roots, she offers signature drinks that would be apropos at a cafe serving Cafecito with libations like Cortadito and Caffe con Leche. I came in just for the $3.50 Drip Coffee and found it most satisfying (photo: https://bit.ly/3l4j7ck). Her extensive experience in grading and scoring coffee beans shows. The in-house roasting yielded a very smooth brew which definitely justifies a return visit. But only if I can successfully dodge the sidewalk scooters. Always in search of new coffee spots. In the area early in the morning and scored parking right in front. The barista greeted us as we entered and explained some of the items on the menu. There were a few things I wanted to try but decided to go with the seasonal latte - pumpkin spice. Hubs went with the popular Cafe con Coco Y Choco. The drinks were beautifully presented. Both were good but I like the hubs' drink more. Would definitely order that one again. They also had a few baked items - I believe they're baked by Kanhfections. Went with the chocolate croissant and the dill and cheese (cheddar?) scone. Freshly baked and perfect pairings with our coffees. read more

We stopped by Abanico Coffee Roasters on a Sunday ~1pm and all of the pastries were gone by then! Ah well, the coffee was still fantastic and worth the stop. It's only a short walk from 16th Street/Mission BART stop. The cafe itself is very spacious inside, with a few bar seats facing out the window onto Mission St, and there's a lovely colorful mural on one wall. The two staff working there were both super friendly and answered all of our questions about different ingredients that we hadn't heard of before. DRINKS // + Cafe con coco y choco (5/5): latte with condensed coconut milk and a sprinkle of cacao. This was delicious! Creamy, well-balanced. The aroma from the beans was strong, just how I like it, without being bitter. + Cold brew with milk (5/5): my friend was a fan of this one! + Cafe con morro (3.5/5): latte with morro seed-infused syrup, sprinkled with allspice and ground morro. Not as strong as the cafe con coco y choco; more milky. I couldn't quite tell what the morro seed syrup was supposed to taste like. read more

Large cafe with several seating options. It's clean and sleek, with a few neon lights that add to its chic ambiance. They have free wifi which works well, so it's a great spot to do work or study in. The coffee is smooth and I asked for it to be slightly on the sweeter side which they were able to help adjust. read more
Great spacious interior, perfect for hanging out! I was surprised by how big and new and clean it felt; no bathroom for customers btw. I got the Cafe con leche iced, and I felt like it was a bit pricey ($6.00) for a 12 oz latte. Not bad, and they have unique Mexican flavored drinks :) read more

A delightful new ethnic and cultural spot to embrace the mission, Abanico is doling out some delicious soul-warming drinks. I had never heard of morro seeds, but some investigation tells me it comes from the same source as what makes the delicious horchata. It was such a great drink that I ended up trying the pinolillo too, which was even better. The insides are roomy and with WiFi you can sit and work there while looking at chaotic mission. Also they're happy to use your own mug, so bring one and say no to those disposable cups (though theirs are compostable, which is another big +) read more
a very beautiful cafe with plenty of natural light and nice interior decor. the staff are really friendly and helpful with recommendations. I tried the Cosecha Latte Seasonal Pumpkin and loved the coffee but the pumpkin taste was very subtle. read more

What a great experience! A wonderful little cafe on Mission, with staff that treat you like old friends. I was fortunate enough to visit Abanico to see the incredible Melissa Cruz Flamenco performance, as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival. The service was beyond welcoming, the coffees and teas were excellent, and the mood lighting and atmosphere were lovely. I will be back, if for nothing else than a simple cup of coffee, because this small business deserves community support! read more

The almond croissant was flavorful, and the hot chocolate was delicious! The barista's hot chocolate art was so cute and thoughtful. An employee brought the drinks to me while I was injured, and that gesture was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Abanico! read more

I usually love it here but today it sucked, the usual lady wasn't there and the customer service was foul. My drink wasn't mixed, the pastry wasn't placed next to my drink when it was ready and I had to get up twice which fine whatever, no smiles, no good morning and no thank you. read more

I walked by this coffee shop and decided to try it out because the drinks looked really unique compared to other coffee shops I've been to recently. I got the Coco y Choco ice latte with oat milk because I wanted something sweet and it was really delicious! I would definitely come back here again for this. It has condensed coconut milk, which I haven't had before but really enjoy. The guy working also let me try a little bit of the iced coffee with cinnamon syrup and syrup made out of sugar (I forgot the name but it's the at the top of the menu) and that was really light and refreshing. I usually like my coffee less sweet and the one he let me try would definitely be my go to in the future. The seating area was nice and I could see myself doing work here but was on the go today read more
Another café to settle in, especially during mornings. I must say, I found the one close to the fabric basement next door. Just wanted to make it short this time. First off, I liked Abanico's laid-back interior. The few baristas were doing such decent job making such good drinks like the cacao.
