Saint Frank Coffee was the coffee star of my few days in SF. Although the menu is small, and they do not offer vanilla syrup, my butterscotch latte was surprisingly incredible! The line clearly speaks for itself. The workers were so kind and patient, despite the booming crowd. The coffee is smooth and full of character. It is such a cozy, inviting, modern coffee shop. I am not very adventurous with my coffee, however, the menu offerings are quite unique and definitely worth trying!
Favorite coffee shop on Polk!! There's a reason that they always have a line on weekends. The line moves fast. They sell pastries from Juniper and oftentimes line here is shorter than Juniper. Note that they don't offer wifi over the weekend to get the crowd moving. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings. Parking is very very hard on Polk.
All around pleasant experience in terms of both the service and coffee. I had the flight and thought it was overall good. They explained that the flight includes an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I hadn't had a straight espresso shot before, so this wasn't for me personally just because it was so overpowering. I enjoyed the other three though. Like the majority of SF, parking is difficult to locate. I was dropped off nearby the location. There is indoor and outdoor seating; I was able to grab an empty spot late in the morning on a weekend, but I don't think seating is always readily available. It's not a huge space.
I like coffee here, especially latte o matcha with home made almond milk. Good atmosphere, service very nice and fast.

I loved the maple pine latte at the other location and wanted to try their signature iced almond macadamia latte ($7.75) here. unfortunately I was quite disappointed, and I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or if I personally don't like the combination, but my drink tasted pretty acidic and not macadamia nutty at all. it tasted kind of watered down almond coffee :( other that that, service staff were sweet, and the interior is a lovely chatty vibe!
I've been trying out different coffee spots near my neighborhood. I have heard of Saint Frank's and knew it was going to be good so I saved this one. I got in line at 9:52 AM on a Sunday and I was able to find parking about a block and a half away. I left the coffee spots at about 10:11 AM, about a 20 minute wait. I don't mind waiting for something worthwhile and did not mind the wait to try out this spot! I got the orange cream latte hot and tried a sesame kougin aman. I absolutely loved the latte. It was exceptional. Probably the best I have had in a long time. I'm not much of a coffee drinker and mostly drink tea on a daily basis. But I do enjoy espresso drinks. It's phenomenal and so worthwhile. The pastry is from their sister bakery Juniper which I have never been to. It was quite good. Inside there is a lot of natural white light. Many people were reading books and a few on laptops. I can imagine this spot being peaceful midweek but on the weekend it's a bit more hustle and bustle. There are tables outside as well and these were more conversational and lively.
We came on an early Saturday afternoon and it was packed. The line moved quickly though. The employees were chill and joked with us a bit. It was nice. I got the cold brew which came out immediately and my wife got the oat milk latte. She said she enjoyed her drink. The cold brew was good. Strong and smooth. I didn't get to try their pastries or pour overs, but I'd come back to try those items. Overall a solid coffee shop. Also the coffee shop has a minimalist aesthetic which I really liked!
Really great coffee shop in Russian Hill! I love the espresso tonic here which is bright and citrusy, perfect for a warm day! It is my go-to drink but they have a great selection of beans and specialty coffees as well. I have to come back to try their competition cappuccino with their special housemade milk. It's dine-in only so will need to come during a less busy time but there are a good number of tables and seats for a coffee shop in a busy part of downtown.

There is not much seating though, but there is also some outdoor seating. They do not have any flavored syrup, but I ordered an iced latte with simply syrup. The latte itself was very good! Then I hear all these references about people drawing different city lines on where the Bay Area starts and where it ends in person and on social media. I definitely know where the city and county lines of San Francisco starts and ends. The term the Bay is a generic term to really mean any other place other than San Francisco. Why would someone replace the Bay to mean San Francisco? One thing that also causes debate among new and native residents is the nicknames for San Francisco. Going to public school in San Francisco it was Frisco and the Sco. Growing up in the Mission it was San Fran and San Pancho. In other parts of the city you will hear St.Francis. These to me were short cuts and only shortcuts I will say is in SF ( not San Fernando). There is another San Francisco nickname which serves great coffee and it's called Saint Frank. On a Winter stroll on Polk street in Russian Hill there is a coffee place which is growing around San Francisco and it's called Saint Frank. There is outside seating along with seating inside. They have flakey croissants like most coffee places in SF. I had to try their Matcha Latte. It was smooth but not too sweet. It was so tasty with no shortcuts . There are multiple locations for Saint Frank around San Francisco. A good place to wake up for 2026 and what I still call San Francisco. Peet's , Starbucks and Philz started on the "West Coast " Saint Francis makes its own coffee "roast" and San Francisco nicknames is all the rage on different "social media post " San Francisco over the decades are mentioned in movies , television and social media "commercial "different nicknames for San Francisco has become "controversial"but you ask anyone from all around the USA and the world saying San Francisco is "universal"
Best coffee! Very tasty. There are usually a lot of people everywhere, so they are willing to wait for their coffee.

Cozy, upscale cafe located in the vibrant Russian Hill neighborhood. I went on a Monday afternoon and there was a great crowd there. Lively customers and staff, good vibes! There was a lot of natural light in the coffee shop, definitely a visually-appealing, 'aesthetic' place. I got an iced red tea and it was delicious. The tea was botanical, smooth and fragrant. Amazing experience! Excited to come back and try the coffee and pastries, which looked super fresh. read more

First time here for coffee! It's quite a popular shop and you see many sitting inside or waiting in line. Luckily we didn't have to wait a long line. It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special. read more

Maybe I had very high hopes, nevertheless I wasn't slblown away by the coffee, the almond macadamia milk or the small bites offerings. At 11 am on a Sunday they were out of their best- black sesame Kouign Amann and the Raspberry Almond Croissant, which I took care of by paying a visit to Juniper bakery (sister business) later in the day. The Mocha with the house made nut milk fell flat. It needed something. I am not a fan of syrupy coffees and appreciate the more purist approach but this one just didn't do anything for me. The chai latte which I would never order was actually the best chai latte I have ever had, it was smooth like silk. Maybe I just had the wrong coffee order. Besides that, got the hot chocolate and the coffee tasting. I was surprised there was no explanation provided with the coffee- I figured it's all Honduran but an overview of some sort would have helped. I enjoyed all the coffees in there except the latte. Will visit again, earlier in the day so they are not out of their best sellers and try a different order. read more

Was here this afternoon for a quick coffee date. Line wasn't too long and ordering went smooth. There was seating inside and out, we nabbed a seat when someone left with their computer. The coffee was nice and strong like I like it. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star was the girl I asked for location of milk gave me a kind of cold response like I should know...this was my first time here so I genuinely needed the info. I'd return again. read more

Solid coffee shop with their own coffee beans. Expect a line on weekend, but you order at the counter and they make your drink at the counter which is a cool experience. Minimalistic store, good lighting, but hard to find a seat and had uncomfortable seating. Their standard espresso coffee bean notes were fruity (I think cherry notes) and had some bitterness (chocolate notes) to it. Great froth for milk creating a a smooth sip each time. If you were get to a pour over, the store uses a machine sadly. One unique thing is the competition style flight: espresso shot, dehydrated coconut milk, and a latte (using coconut milk). Very coconut-y for this competition flight. read more
Saint Frank is solid, but more of a "stop by if I'm already in the area" kind of spot. The coffee's good, just on the pricier side for a cup. There's usually a line too, so be ready to wait a bit. Nice quality overall, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. read more
Excellent coffees and teas, made with the highest quality. So glad we came here after hearing about Saint Frank. They have a variety of single source origin coffees to choose from. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. I prefer dark roast coffee and the staff suggested the coffee bean that turned out to be perfect and not bitter. They take great care and use special equipment to prepare coffees and teas. My companion had one of the teas which is Song Tea, a high quality and fragrant one that brings back memories of the tea my mother favored while I was growing up. Reasonable prices. Nice clean shop with some tables and a clean restroom. Thank you for a good experience. read more
I met friends here but don't drink coffee so ordered a hot chocolate. It was rich and creamy and delicious. It's nice inside and glad they have some spots to sit. It was pretty full and busy the entire time even on a weekday mid morning. Staff was great. Service was a bit slow. read more
Spot felt undersold for what it delivered. Cold brew was so smooth and delicious. The pine and male latte was refreshing with unique flavors that weren't overpowering. Staff worked well together to keep things moving quickly. I appreciate that when buying beans our cold brew was free- definitely makes me feel like they appreciate the business and have some pride in their product. read more

Sooo good. Amy the barista gave me an exquisite tour of the Saint Frank menu. I had an espresso tonic (quite good) and then I had a decaf version of their "competition style cappucino". SOOOO good. I live in Sacramento but I will definitely be comin back for some more Saint Frank. read more

I was so excited to try the coffee from here because it's a highly rated coffee roaster in the Bay Area. All the coffee forums on reddit speak highly of it. I made a special trip out here just for it! Since it was my first time here, I tried the coffee flight with two different coffees from Bolivia. The flight consists of an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I will be completely honest, that I think my expectations were so high, that this was a bit of a letdown to me. The espresso drinks were both really bitter to me, if I compare them to other local roasters like Ritual and Equator. The hot coffee was okay to me, but nothing too special. Of the four drinks in the flight, only the iced coffee tasted the best to me. I'm not sure if it's the way the barista prepared the flight, or if it was the beans, but I will come back to give it another chance in the future, either by trying another drink, or buying my own beans and brewing it at home to understand why it's one of the better roasters in the Bay. read more

We loved visiting Saint Frank, their pastries were top tier. We ordered the Mushroom Danish ($7.75) & the chocolate chip cookie ($4.25) which were delicious. The lattes were okay, I'd prefer a stronger espresso but it accompanied the pastries well. read more

They make their almond milk in house with macadamia nuts and it's delicious. It's unsweetened and pretty sure it's vegan.
