Cute coffee shop! Wanted a new one around me not far from work. Saw this was a good 10-15 minute walk and figured why not. Dragged a coworker friend with me for the steps and we were on our way. They had a nice sized menu of options. I decided on the honeycomb latter. Small, iced and not super sweet. It was exactly that. Chunks of crumbly honeycomb were sprinkled on top. We sat for a while and talked amongst the pink decor and plants. Cute vibe!
Telescope Coffee has been on my bookmarks for ages! I've seen them all over social media, and with their aesthetic drinks, I knew I had to visit. It's worth a trip at least once for sure! The cafe is dog-friendly and cute. When you arrive, they have a lot of quirky, fun decor, like disco balls and a free bookshelf! Ordering is simple and done at the register. There are a few tables to sit and hang out at, but I wouldn't work here. The service was efficient. So what got me was their blueberry. A nickname my friend has for me, so anytime I see it, I have to get it. I got the Blueberry Milk Matcha with Oat Milk. The color was gorgeous, and you could taste both the subtle, mild blueberry and the earthy matcha. For the size and quantity, it was definitely a bit pricey. But it's worth a try at least once if you enjoy blueberries. I recommend Telescope Coffee for all the other Gen Z cafe girlies like myself. I wouldn't go out of my way more than once, though, but if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular. Try their drinks, the other food items seemed popular too! Find them off 6th Street with limited street parking.
Delicious unique coffee with a very cute interior. I arrived close to closing so I didn't have to chance to try any food, although there were smaller bites like pastries and oatmeal left. Service was great and my drink was delicious!
I am so late on this review y'all. Like almost a year late. One of those things where you're looking through your cloud photo space, see some photos, and are like... did I ever write that Yelp review? The answer was nah brah. You didn't. So here I am much later, but because I still remember how tasty my coconut matcha was, and how cool this little shop/bakery was! I was a total matcha novice at the time, and really, I still am. But it was this particular drink that made me want to discover more of them. It was creamy but a little earthy, energizing but not "buzzing the room" levels, and just what I wanted to kick of a morning adventure with some co-workers. Of course, there were so many more to choose from, but like I said... I was a novice. Just give me what I kinda know. They did just that, and a delicious cookie! Would return next time I'm here.
My second visit to Telescope! Happy to say Telescope is still delicious. Sad to say the walk from Market street is still messy... This time I ordered the seasonal cherry blossom cold foam matcha and a strawberry ube cookie. Staff was helpful with my order and ensured I knew the cold foam was made with dairy (since I ordered my drink w/oat milk) and offered pastry suggestions. The strawberry ube cookie was delicious - a soft baked sugar cookie texture with great strawberry flavor coming through. The matcha itself was more floral than sweet. Matcha fans will enjoy but as a broken human I need more sugar with my caffeinated beverages.... Would still recommend! Another great experience at Telescope. Coming back again soon!

This place is small, right near the corner of Folsom & 6th. You come in and order right near the entrance, and then there's a few places to sit and hang while you drink your coffee. The staff here is super nice, and my mocha latte came out money. They've also got a water cooler setup with small cups too. I thought a good product & service.
Had this coffee shop on my list for a while! Very cute interior and nice ambiance with seating inside. They had some nice new years decor up. I got their matcha with blueberry milk and liked it! I know they sometimes have pop ups here too, will def come back for that.
I love supporting and hyping up POC and women‑owned businesses, and Telescope Coffee is one of them. Telescope Coffee felt like a little caffeine oasis in the heart of SoMa. It was a great way to start the morning. DRINKS (LATTE): 8/10 I got their Iced Vanilla Bean Latte with Cinnamon, and it was pretty solid. Smooth, nicely balanced, and not too sweet, not too bitter. It didn't blow my mind, but definitely a dependable pick. FOOD/PASTRIES: 8/10 I ordered their sun-dried tomato & rosemary focaccia, which I think is one of their specialties, and honestly, it was yummy! A bit on the oily side to start the morning, but that's on me -- focaccia is usually a little oily, so eating it first thing in the morning was my choice, haha. Everything felt freshly made and paired really well with my drink. Their menu is creative as they do honeycomb lattes, pandan coconut‑cream espresso drinks, and rose lattes. SERVICE: 8/10 The barista who rang me up was super kind, chill, and friendly. She knew exactly what she was doing and was so patient while giving me recommendations since I was indecisive. It made the whole experience feel really genuine. AMBIANCE: 9/10 This place is adorable. The interior has lots of plants, natural light, and open space. The vibe is very mellow, which seems perfect for reading, relaxing, or just hanging out solo. There is also a cozy bookshelf/board game area. Telescope Coffee has personality, creativity, and a warm, relaxing feel. It's a good place to drop in when you want something a little more thoughtful but still easygoing.
I came by to grab a coffee and opted for the monte carlo which is their iced coffee with an orange cream top. The cream top is very sweet by itself but is balanced out by the coffee once you mix it. I do think the coffee itself was a bit bland and I wished they used a darker roast to balance out the milky sweet top. Overall not bad but on the pricier side.

Yes all the things we support. One occasion I walked in and saw a pop up for The Butter Block Bakeshop. WOMAN-OWNED AS WELL?! Okay support we love it. Both shops are amazing and offer your favorite coffee shop staples and a welcoming environment. Support both these businesses and try out some really good coffee or baked goods.
Saw the reviews and I was excited for Matcha! Unfortunately, my iced Matcha latte with almond milk was not giving. I asked the gal for sweetener and got a bit of an off putting response where she said they didn't have any, so I specified an example such as honey to which she said that they had some at the end of the counter that I could do myself. My Matcha tasted like almond milk more than anything so I asked for a bit of extra Matcha to which she said she could if I paid more. I totally get this part, but just overall the hospitality energy here really put me off. Dang!
My favorite item was the focaccia with rosemary and tomato. Order at the counter, I think the coffee is quite pricey (a latte is $7). Usually lattes are $5.75 - $6.25. The cashier was very patient. Good space to sit down, catch up, and read the community book. The honey comb latte ($7.75) was okay, but the beans need a slightly longer roast for a stronger coffee taste. The honey comb will melt in the drink eventually. The cardamon spice cold brew has good spices, but again, not too much coffee taste and was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the cafe is not in the best area and the coffee does not stand out.
I ordered the rose matcha hot to-go, and it was excellent. The matcha looked beautiful and tasted even better--smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. I also loved that all their syrups are made in-house; you can really tell the difference. The shop felt very clean too--I even saw someone actively mopping the floor, which I appreciated. Would happily come back.
Really cute spot! I've been seeing the honeycomb latte and had to try it. Stopped by in the morning and it was pretty busy. Cute little shop where people were gathering but also working. The latte was so great! I was worried it was going to be too sweet but the honey wasn't overpowering. read more
Been on my list to check out and finally got to try it over the weekend! Had to try the blueberry matcha since blueberries and matcha are both my favorites, so why not?! I honestly should've gotten a bigger size because it was SO good! The blueberry and matcha went perfectly together, and now it's definitely my go to whenever I see blueberry matcha on the menu. 2.5/5 Cute Asian cafe! They have a community book shelf area where people can trade or borrow books; I love this! My friends and I came in looking for WFH cafe vibes. For drinks, we tried: Matcha Latte (1/5 - thought this would be better because the matcha looked really green at first but after mixing, not sure what matcha they use but it had a dull green color and tasted kinda watery with a bitter taste) Matcha Rose Latte (2/5 - this was very sweet and not much matcha taste with the rose overpowering everything; it was half the drink so I get why it was so strong) Matcha Lavender Latte (3/5 - strong lavender taste, probably good for a lavender milk but not for matcha) For pastries, we got the Chocolate Chip Cookie, Ube Cookie, and Blueberry Puff. I personally enjoyed the Blueberry Puff the most because they use real blueberries inside but my friends didn't like it since it was really wet inside. The cookies were a bit dry but still flavorful. Their hours are usually 7AM - 4PM with the exception of weekends where they close at 3PM. Their seating is alright with 4ish tables and a counter top area. Their bathroom is clean! There's only street parking so kinda limited. As a WFH place, 3/5 just OK. However, the drinks were pretty disappointing and food was just ok so 2.5/5. read more
On a recent trip to San Francisco, my friend wanted to go on a matcha-crawl. We researched a few of SF's top spots, and headed to Telescope Coffee first after reading a few reviews. Telescope Coffee is a POC women-owned biz with all syrups, concentrates, and pastries made in-house. Such a cute hole-in-the-wall spot offering fun bevs and also non caffeinated options too. I ordered an iced orange matcha and croffle. Loved the homemade feels and friendly service while waiting. Also loved the additional personal touch and drink compliments to each cup. It's all in the details! I have never tried an orange matcha before and was pleasantly surprised. So delicious! I preferred my selection iced vs hot, and noticed they also had a rose matcha which a few friends enjoyed. The seasonal drinks seem super fun, would love to return for the seasonal strawberry milk with matcha served in the cutest little strawberry cup/straw (see their Yelp for photos). Where do you go for matcha in SF? Would definitely also return with laptop in tow next time I need to post up in the City. read more

This was definitely a five-star Yelp find! This was the first stop on my SF matcha tour and it did not disappoint. The shop is so beautiful and naturally lit, it seems like it would be a good place to work from. I tried the earth day matcha and enjoyed it! Neither the matcha nor the blue spirulina were overpowering each other. I didn't get the hint of lavender that's mentioned on the menu but that could've just been because it's so herbal like the other two flavors and blended in. There were so many different matcha options! I got a sip of the orange matcha that had their homemade orange syrup. Absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be back. read more

Telescope coffee is a cute coffee shop tucked away on 6th st in soma. The space is very welcoming with lots of plants, a tiny library, cute merch, and good coffee. I really like their seasonal drink selection, and for those who like matcha, they indicate the grade which is was great! They are known for their focaccia, tomato garlic rosemary. We also got a blueberry seasonal pastry to eat. My friend got the honeycomb latte and I got the cardamom iced latte. The pastry was flaky and the blueberry was a little tart/not too sweet. Loved it! The focaccia was fluffy, not greasy at all, I loved the poo if rosemary flavor. The seasonal lattes were $7-8, very good. Cardamom latte was light, and I liked the flavor, it didn't taste artificial. They had such a clean space and kind service. I would recommend for a good coffee, treat, and yap!! read more

Opening in August 2021, Telescope Coffee is from an SF native and an alum from Eleven Madison Park (3 Michelin stars). Open for takeout and indoor dining. M E N U Coffee, espresso, tea (hot and iced), non-caffeinated, and seasonal specials. They have specially made coffee blends from Cosmic Dust, a Viet woman owned roastery from SJ. Oat and soy milk available for +$1. The owner bakes all her items. On the day I visited, they had blueberry puffs, focaccia, banana loaf, croffles, and cookies. I saw a reel with an array of over a dozen croissants but I think it was meant for another business? D R I N K * Seasonal Blueberry Matcha Latte ($7.50 + $1 oat milk): https://tinyurl.com/yr5t6ar6 One of the few places that offer this combo and it was my first time trying it...I was blown away! The housemade blueberry syrup was so good and legit tasted like biting into perfectly ripen fresh blueberries...pleasantly sweet but not too sweet. The top layer of whisked-to-order ceremonial grade matcha was strong and earthy. Together with the oat milk, they seamlessly blended together for a deliciously creamy pick-me-up. P A R K I N G Best bet is looking for street parking a block away on 6th street towards 280 S under the overpass (across from The EndUp). Overall, wished I didn't sleep on Telescope Coffee for all these years because I thought they were only a coffeeshop (I can't drink coffee). My coworkers and I went on the hunt for great matcha. Telescope had a special earth month lavender flavor on the menu and we were all curious about the flavor. 3 of us order the lavender matcha and the other ordered an espresso. We waited and looked around the cute, cozy cafe while waiting on our drinks. The space was brightly lit, which made it a cool place to post up and work. Our drinks came quickly and they were tasty. I do wish there was more lavender syrup in my drink but I still enjoyed it. read more

Easy to find and the pastries are made from scratch. Simple menu but it has depth. Maple latte and matcha rose hit our taste buds with hay can be described in three words, de-li-cious! They are dog friendly and have a very chill vibe here. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Seating is limited inside so get here early to beat the crowds. I highly recommend this place, bring a friend, your loved ones or your furry loves! read more
What a gem this quaint little cafe is! If you're looking for a place with good food and deliciously crafted drinks, this is a spot for you! Telescope does not do basic drinks or food. They're highly intentional with the way they serve food or drinks, especially if it's inspired by other culture. They got delicious ube cookies and rotations of seasonal drinks! I'm really happy I came across Telescope Coffee. It's located in SOMA in an area that I wouldn't usually be, but I come back because I quite like the vibes here. The space feels very warm and inviting, with plants, natural lighting, a bookshelf, etc. I also love that they host so many pop-ups here; I've been able to try several of the bakers and chefs that I follow on Instagram since they have their events here. Drinks-wise, they have flavors that I like but I think the execution is just okay. My Blueberry Matcha Latte had a good blueberry taste to it, but I couldn't taste the matcha at all. It honestly just tasted like blueberry milk; I still enjoyed it, but I've definitely had better beverages elsewhere. It's also pretty expensive--I paid nearly $9 for my drink. That being said, I will still be a regular customer since I just like the energy of this place. Their drinks might not be the best, but this is a business I like supporting. read more
Was craving some matcha and found this place. The shop is small with a few tables inside. The matcha latte comes unsweetened, but there's nothing special to it. The lavender matcha had a nice flavor, but it started to taste like fruit loop cereal milk. I'd say this spot is alright and there's nothing that made it stand out to me. As I entered this café, houseplants and a neon telescope logo greeted me. Even though this spot is named Telescope Coffee, the drinks or interior (except the restroom) weren't astronomical themed. Ample stool and table seating with pop music playing in the background. One of the baristas let me know that all their food items are made in-house. Since I already ate breakfast, I just ordered the Orange Vanilla Bean Latte ($7.50). This seemed like a popular option as I saw a lot of customers order it while I was waiting for my drink. +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Creamy with a zesty orange flavor. It brought back memories of the orange push pops I had when I was younger. +Dried orange wedge and honeysuckle blossoms? were unique touches. As I sipped, I smelled the blossoms, which made for a multisensory experience. +Cute latte art -It got sweeter as I got closer to the bottom: If I return, I'll order their drinks w/less sweetness. -Cashier asked if I wanted it for here or to go but it doesn't seem like there's a difference. Literally, I stumbled upon this new neighborhood shop. I really about this small, sleepy store when reading an article in our local newspaper. It is literally a block away from my office. While driving to work one morning, I found a legal parking spot right in front. This was slightly fruity and a clean tasting cold drink. It was nice that it was only minimally sweet. Came here on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively empty but with a lot of natural light. I got the Iced Pomegranate Green Tea, and it was very refreshing! It's unsweetened, which I think helps bring out the pomegranate flavor. It's not too overpowering or artificial so the fruit flavor really shines. There's free wifi here so it's nice to work inside the shop. read more

2 tiny coffees for $16?? Coffees are $8 each now?? This is getting out of hand. I have no issue paying for high quality drinks, but I just wasn't impressed. The pandan coconut milk drink tasted bland and I didn't know there was no espresso in it when I ordered. So it was an $8 milk? The cup size was so tiny I don't think it was even 12 oz, I think it was a 10z. I also ordered the honeycomb latte which was decent but again paying $8 for this feels like a crime I'm sorry! The staff was also not that friendly or helpful. I didn't feel like the value and taste was there for what I'm paying. I wouldn't return for that reason. read more
