    Rose vanilla Matcha
    Luke W.

This has to be a city essential! Us tourists ran in quick, glad to find a speedy parking spot for a pick up right in front, surprisingly these blocks aren't as cluttered as I expected. Grabbed a basic latte and matcha, priced fair, staff fantastic, noticed many others enjoying their dreary Monday in espresso and quality drip life. I enjoyed the good rose vanilla greens going down despite a faint balance of flavors; of course only wished, as with all the San Francisco coffee houses I tried, to find more unusual seasonal options like the Midwest has embraced. Hot honey miso, ube coconut, and an forever favorite, mocha mint! Those would be a cherry on top for this place.

Visited this coffee shop a Thursday morning at around 8AM. The spot was a bit busy, but there were a few tables opened and the line was on the short side (2 folks before me). I was in and out in around 5-10min. I ordered the maple cinnamon latte and the triple ginger scone. The maple cinnamon latte was DELICIOUS. The sweetness of the maple balance perfectly with the cinnamon. I had never heard of the ginger scone before, so I decided to give it a try and it was surprisingly very good. I was scared that the flavor of the ginger would overpower the sweetness of the scone, but quite the opposite. It had the spiciness of the ginger and the sweetness of the scone. Overall, would 100% revisit. It's also a great sport to work remotely, with a lot of sitting areas and tables.

It's seems people who are inspired by Peets Coffee go start up another coffee company like the people who started Starbucks and also the person who started Compton's Coffee House. This Compton's Coffee House is located in North Beach. Inside it has a mix of digital nomads , locals, and tourist. It is a good place to have coffee and pastries. I got the vanilla mocha and it was a bit too sweet for me. The caffeine level of the mocha was low but it had a good taste. I got the croissant. The croissant tasted like a shopping mall handmade pretzel. I also got the Raspberry Matcha iced which sounds good but it was too sweet for me. The bottom of the drink felt like it was loaded with NutraSweet. If you want to be cognitively arouse Grab a cup of coffee with an extra shot at Compton's Coffee House

In house made vanilla syrup is delicious. it was a treat since nonfat milk is not an option. One size only for drinks. Would've liked the latte a bit hotter, but overall delightful .

Big fan of Comptons here! I usually stop in roughly every other week to get a chai or raspberry matcha. Sometimes a lemon poppy seed muffin if they still have some! Everyone who works here is super nice from the interactions I've had and always has a smile on their face! Typically clean and filled with people doing work during the week but can get pretty crowded on the weekends sometimes. I have heard some complaints that lattes need an extra shot here and that your drink quality really depends on who is making it. But overall the drink quality is pretty consistent when I come in. Their seasonal drinks are also great if one speaks to you! I do miss their cardamom latte and would love to see it on the menu all year round but still love the rotating seasonal choices!

If you're ever by Washington Square Park and you need a little coffee pick me up situation, Compton's is always my go-to. It's usually full on the weekend, but they have lots of indoor seating. If it's busy, you can head to the park with your drink. They offer such high quality coffee that always hits. My friend gets the matcha latte and loves it! I have to recommend my absolute fav (I am not sure if you can get this at other coffee shops) - a latte infused or espresso steeped with Earl Grey essentially an Earl Grey Latte. It's so unique and hits the spot for me. I've only got it here at Comption's. It's delicious, strong and just a unique coffee experience!

The peppermint hot chocolate? HITS! I wish I had gotten a size upgrade because it was so yummy and the perfect drink for the rainy weather. They also had a peppermint mocha and matcha! I also like that this Compton's location is very spacious and has a lot of seats. There is free wifi and a lot of people were working from there.

After seeing holiday drinks on instagram, i finally made my way over here and I'm definitely gonna be back! Comptons is spacious with a lot of tables, restrooms, and a nice vibe overall! I got the peppermint mocha and it was delicious -- the peppermint was just the right amount, not overpowering. My friend ordered the peppermint hot chocolate which was also very good, not too sweet and very creamy. The coffee has to be some of the best I've had in the city! I will definitely be coming back to check out their other drinks like the lavender latte and orange blossom mocha :)

Very good lavender latte! My grandson also enjoyed the hot chocolate and both his almond croissant AND MY morning bun lolz. Nice, clean comfortable cafe where we enjoyed our drinks and pastries. Front counter help was funny and helpful and we witnessed him be very kind to an unhoused person

This is a very quiet and cute coffee shop, that is surrounded by other shops. There is lots to do in the area. Really enjoyed this Raspberry Matcha latte, service was friendly and quick. Don't have anything bad to say, but also didn't try enough things to give it a 5/5. Will be back :)

Iced raspberry matcha with oat milk

Went on a sunny, slightly windy Friday afternoon and got their iced raspberry latte with oat milk -- really lovely! The raspberry syrup is especially good mixed with the oat milk, and the matcha is decently strong in caffeine and flavor without being overpowering. Also got a chocolate hazelnut croissant and, while cold, it was still delicious and had a good hazelnut filling!

A really good coffee shop with laid back and friendly vibe. This is definitely a place to stop by and recharge when you're in the area. Local or tourists would equally find this coffee shop to be approachable, cozy and welcoming to all. I've had a hot regular latte, it was nutty, creamy and delicious to the last drop!

Instead of just pointing us in the right direction, the person working gave us attitude about it. We apologized and explained that we thought we were supposed to stand where we were, and he responded with something along the lines of, "Well, the cashier is here, so you should be standing here." Just a weirdly hostile interaction over a very normal mistake. Then I ordered my coffee and asked for vanilla. He told me they didn't have any, so I said no problem and asked if they had another sweetener. His response was, "No, we don't. I don't do that here." I said, "Oh, okay, interesting," and he responded, "Yeah, that's why there are other coffee shops. You don't have to come here if you don't want to." I also asked for 2% milk, and again got a very curt "I don't do 2% milk," instead of just telling me what they did have. I happily switched to oat milk -- none of my requests were a big deal to me, and I wasn't upset that they didn't have what I originally asked for. It was entirely the attitude. Not sure why every interaction needed to come with so much sass, especially when we were being perfectly polite. Coffee was fine, but the service made the whole experience uncomfortable. Definitely won't be back, and if you're expecting friendly or welcoming service, I'd go somewhere else.

(I couldn't find it on the site lol) The seasonal twice-baked croissant was amazing! It was a blueberry croissant filled with blueberries and blueberry jam within. They didn't hold back on the filling. There was an almond crumble on top of the croissant, which added so much more taste and flavor to the pastry itself. Like I was truly in awe. The second pastry I ordered, which I didn't take a photo of, was the brioche curry/turmeric-based pastry. I didn't read when I ordered it, so I ate it completely surprised by the taste. I love a savory pastry, which was a perfect addition for my lunch. The flavors were good, but the turmeric flavor was a little overpowering and not really my favorite.
