Maison Nico is a solid French bakery with unique pastries, and on the few occasions that I have come there has always been a line but the line moves relatively fast. My go to order to get is always the chocolate croissant and the pâté which is smooth and rich. I usually order this when I go and try and snag a spot inside though there is often minimal to no seating and only about three little tables inside and outside. While the pate is delicious and absolutely unique, I do feel that the croissant and pastry based goods are not as great or fluffy and delicate as Arsticault bakery which for me is my holy grail standard for solid croissants and pastries. Would definitely get this again. The flan parisien was okay. The taste was good, strong vanilla, but the custard was soooo firm. I couldn't get past that texture. And finally, the quiche. I found a hair imbedded into the crust which made me really sad. I hadn't noticed until I had eaten some. The phyllo dough was beautifully flaky and crunchy. I ended up ordering the traditional quiche and it did not disappoint. It's a small and crowded spot with limited seating inside, and the small pink tables outside fill up quickly. When I stepped back outside, I noticed they also had double chocolate hazelnut cookies and instantly regretted not grabbing one -- but I didn't feel like waiting in line again.
