    Mocha latte

Cool little joint, nice staff, not very many places to sit, so just be aware of that. Probably the best quiche and canele I've ever had. Food was excellent. Mocha Latte was very good as well. Highly recommend

Very cute little French bakery. Everything we ordered was delicious. My husband loved the brisket filled brioche that was packed with flavor. The croque monsieur was good but I have had batter. The croissant was super flaky and soft on the inside. I will say the canele's were some of the best I've tried. Lastly, everyone working was super friendly and patient as we made up our minds.

I can't believe I'm just now trying Maison Nico! Actually I can, because Arsicault owns me and probably my first born. But the croissants here are not the stars of the show. They were good and for the neighborhood, I'm sure they're the best option around. However, the Parisian flan and the salted caramel seasonal choux made all my French bakery dreams come true. Parisian flan - rich, silky, creamy, perfectly sweetened Salted caramel choux - I actually didn't eat this until the day after I got it but it was still that good. The pastry was soggy but I could tell it was buttery. The filling was amazing. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect thick texture and just the right amount of salted caramel taste. Croque monsier - I didn't like this honestly. Bread was too thick, filling was bland. Plain & chocolate croissants - good, not great, but I'd still get it if I was in the area and wanted a good croissant. Had a good crunch to it but was definitely missing some richness to it I got there ~11am on a Saturday morning and only 2 people were ahead of me so it was a quick wait. Service is very friendly even if you can't pronounce anything. They had a few tables inside that I'd love to sit at and try more things on a day I wasn't taking them to go.

Maison Nico is a solid French bakery with unique pastries, and on the few occasions that I have come there has always been a line but the line moves relatively fast. My go to order to get is always the chocolate croissant and the pâté which is smooth and rich. I usually order this when I go and try and snag a spot inside though there is often minimal to no seating and only about three little tables inside and outside. While the pate is delicious and absolutely unique, I do feel that the croissant and pastry based goods are not as great or fluffy and delicate as Arsticault bakery which for me is my holy grail standard for solid croissants and pastries. The pastries also were on the colder side and not as warm despite coming relatively early in the day.

For classic Parisian flared treats, you can't go wrong with Maison Nico. Although I usually prefer croissants to have a bit of chew alongside a medium level of crisp, I also enjoy a good ole' classic croissant, which to me, is one that has a nice crunch for light flaking, airy center and an ever slight centered chew. The lamination on their croissants were excellent. I also enjoyed the pain au chocolate, which is now my favorite in the city. The perfect amount of chocolate and a perfectly baked exterior. Since my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, I got a mixed assortment of items that caught my attention and what can I say. All of them were tasty and were happily gobbled up. The super star of the box was the canele. Holy moly. I've had a handful of these in my life and I realize why I never enjoyed them. It's because they were just not great, UNTIL I had a bite of Maison Nico's. Hot diggity. The caramelized exterior and tender custard center made my heart sing. I'll be coming back to try their other savory pastries. And for a handful of caneles.

Tried the regular, chocolate, and chestnut croissant. Thought they were all ok. The outside is slightly crispy and the inside is soft. We thought something was missing - perhaps it needed more butter and more crisp. Staff friendly and there are a few tables inside.

I stopped by Maison Nico one morning and really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. The café has a very European feel, from the pastries to the small outdoor seating area facing the street. Sitting outside with a coffee honestly felt a little like being in a café in Europe. It made me feel very nostalgic. I ordered an espresso and a quiche. The espresso was good and exactly what you'd expect for a quick morning coffee. The quiche was also really good, but I would definitely recommend eating it warmed up. It tastes much better that way and the flavors come out more. Service was a little on the slower side, but it was also pretty busy in the morning, so it seemed more like they were just dealing with the rush rather than poor service. I would definitely come again and try more items on the menu.

The pâté here is on point. Smooth, rich, perfectly seasoned -- everything you want it to be. Do yourself a favor and get the three-pack so you can try the variety, because choosing just one would be impossible. Pair it with a warm crusty baguette and you've got a little slice of heaven. Simple, delicious, and absolutely worth ordering again.

The only word I can think of to describe this cafe/bakery is WOW! The service was delightful, the pastries were delicious, but the mousse pate was heaven! This adorable French-style shop is a must if you are visiting San Francisco. I wish they shipped out of state. The location is near the TransAmerica building in the financial section of San Francisco, but worth the trip. Thanks to Dawn Askew, the general manager of the Hotel Drisco, for sending us there. You will have an exceptional experience at Maison Nico!

A friend and I planned for a morning run around the Embarcadero, but ended up walking on over to Maison Nico for morning pastries. Funny because we also both ended up getting the chocolate croissants! Usually we'd both get different things to optimize tasting everything but not today. My friend thought the chocolate croissant was just ok and not his favorite, and I happened to agree. The flakiness that comes off the croissant has a chip like texture, which I enjoyed. My friend said he wasn't a fan of the chocolate thats inside (he's a diva). I also got an iced mocha and thought it was ok. Service here is really nice - I let them know it was my first time in and they explained each pastry to me and let me take my time. There are cute two seater tables right outside that make it fun to enjoy a bite while people watching, or seating inside. Def a good brekkie spot for FiDi area!

Very busy but the wait was worth it. The paris-brest was fantastic! I love hazelnut and hands down its been the best pastry I've had ever. Will definitely come back again when i visit SF!

My brother brought us a few pastries from this fantastic bakery. The hazelnut nut Paris breast was fantastic! The filling was amazing and they had big macadamia nuts pieces, what a delish treat. Then we had a lemon tart which was also very tasty, it had a little bit of white chocolate that complimented it very well. Overall this place has wonderful desserts.

I really liked that I did not have to wait in any line! All the croissants were sold out, got the Parisian flan, the duck pastry, the quiche and the lamb pastry. They warm it up for you so that was nice and make it even more tasty. Nice and flaky and buttery. I really enjoyed the filling in the quiche. The duck and lamb pastries were unique to me. I thought the flan was nothing special. Friendly service and few tables to sit!

I'm a lover of pandan and had SO much trouble choosing a drink because of it lol. I ended up ordering the kopi klepon and it was amazing! The drink was super creamy and earthy, and I loved how vibrant the pandan flavor was. Oftentimes when I get pandan drinks the flavor is way too light, but this had the perfect amount. It also had a bit of palm sugar in it, which added just the right level of sweetness. Definitely lived up to the hype!

Been wanting to come here for the longest time since Indonesian coffee sounded so unique! Luckily…read moreno line on a Saturday morning but people slowly started coming in by 9:30. A couple tables along the side but overall not too big inside. Couldn't decide what to get but I loved that their menu included visuals for the components of each drink. Price is slightly on the higher end but I guess you can't get Indonesian coffee anywhere else in SF. Ended up with a macchiato and cappuccino to try. Staff was friendly and I appreciate that they were informative about the macchiato being different than how Starbucks does it. Our drinks were freshly made and ready in 5 mins. Size of the macchiato was definitely a lot smaller than I realized but the coffee was nice and bold. Both drinks allowed us to appreciate the pure coffee bean taste without being too bitter. Looking forward to coming back and trying the popular kopi pandan!
