I got to work early and had extra time to pick up breakfast. A quick search lead me to Rosalind Bakery that is only 4 minute walk from my office. It's so hard to decide 1 or 2 items when everything looks so good and nicely displayed! I'm a big fan of Almond Croissant and you can't go wrong with that. The allure is the powder sugar and good looking toasted almonds on top! It was flaky, fresh and buttery inside. Kouigan-amann was a nice surprise. I didn't expect the inside to be filled with yummy matcha custard. The outside is buttery and chewy interior with a crispy and sticky crust. Very good! Besides pastries, they also have a good selection of bread. Very friendly staff! Happy to discover this awesome bakery and so close to my San Francisco office!

My friend and I planned a pastry crawl and invited a bunch of our friends. Rosalind was our first stop after meeting at the ferry building nearby. I ordered a morning bun to share with one of my friends, as well as an almond croissant. The friend I shared with remarked that the morning bun had an apple essence, and I confirmed it after biting into the soft fluffy interior. To be fair, I was not a big fan of the apple. It kind of threw me off. Oh well, onto the next. I sliced off pieces of that almond croissant to try, but I think the almonds might have been over-toasted, as it tasted mildly sour but not like sourdough. Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of Rosalind, but I'm still glad I tried it. It was a great first stop, and the spacious outdoor table area was really convenient to split pastries with friends.

Another great find on Blackbird! Kouign-amann was perfectly savory. I got the one with matcha cream inside. Almond croissant was okay:)

Super friendly staff. I got the olive bread -- it's huge and absolutely delicious. The bakery itself is small and adorable. Just a heads-up: they do close early on certain days. Pastries/coffees/tea available as well.

Adorable little bakery tucked inside the Embarcadero Plaza featuring outstanding bread, lovely treats, and tasty coffee. I dropped by for a quick breakfast before work, and I was super impressed. I would probably budget a bit more time to find this space -- they do a perfect good job labeling their store, but I'm just quite directionally challenged and spent way too long wandering the Plaza -- but it is otherwise the perfect spot for a mid-day pick-me-up. I got their seed loaf, which was, true to its name, absolutely loaded with seeds. It had flax, pumpkin, poppy, sunflower, and I'm sure several other seeds, which made the little slice super hearty and filling. I paired this with an americano, which was lovely -- the coffee wasn't overly bright (which is my preference), although it did feel a little bit too watery / wasn't all that fragrant. They also had a bunch of other goodies that I didn't get a chance to try, like various danishes and croissants. I think I've had their baked goods at other cafes before, though -- I'd recognize their almond croissant or millet muffin anywhere -- and they've been delicious. They're most famous for their bread, so I'll have to come back and give it a try. There isn't a ton of seating inside -- just three small tables for 1-2 people along the front windows -- but there are a few communal picnic tables right outside in the plaza if you need a place to hang out for a while.

Hands down some of the best baked goods in SF. Picked up a selection to bring to a meeting-- everyone was raving about them. Their morning bun and cinnamon roll are worth the trek to the Embarcadero Center. Staff were very pleasant. Will definitely come back.

I got the latte and morning bun and it was so tasty! I went on a Sunday around 11am and the cinnamon bun was already sold out. The place is super cute and cozy and even though there's no seats inside, there's plenty of tables around the area to enjoy it.

I stopped by Rosalind Bakery on a Saturday morning for coffee and ended up grabbing an ice americano along with a blue corn cookie and seasonal danish (mixed berry with vanilla) and to snack on while spending the morning journaling. Loved the blue corn cookie which reminded me of a sweet corn bread with a great texture from the corn. I love cookies that are chewy and not too sweet and this was just perfect. The danish was great as well with a fresh berry jam with whole pieces of blueberries and I loved the flaky layers in the pastry as well. Such a cute bakery with some counter seats inside and long tables outside. The natural light coming through the windows is beautiful and it was super cute that while I was there, a lot regulars came in grabbing their usual Saturday morning pastry. I can see why this is a neighborhood staple and will definitely be back! Pro tip: I've also seen Rosalind Bakery pastries at Paper Son on Mondays and Tuesdays so it's great that they're expanding their reach!

They have great coffee and pastries! Especially the blue corn cookie. It's bad but I almost go every day that I'm at work. The ham and cheese croissant also has mustard and is so good!

I discovered Rosalind Bakery through Blackbird Pay. I'm so happy that they have almond croissants. It wasn't sold out like Jane the Bakery on Fillmore was when I came at lunch on a weekday. It's just as yummy and big too with the almond paste inside! Highly recommend their almond croissant!

Quick stop before lunch with my friend. Tried their matcha with Oat.....ummm not sure if I like it color was off to me. Service was great though. Might try their coffee next time if I am in the area.

Excellent experience! The Rosalind Bakery croissant is well made. Their cappuccino was good. Marie's counter service is friendly and represents the business well. Barstools and window counter are clean. Atrium light coming through the window is pleasant. Prices for this quality of food are fair and a great value. I will be back yet again for another perfect experience. Thanks Rosalind Bakery!

I came by to pick up a surprise bag through TooGoodToGo. The lady behind the counter sighed one of those "ugh, you're one of those" sighs. I received a chocolate chip cookie, a slice of something I can't find on their menu and a millet muffin. That unknown slice I enjoyed. The cookie was meh but the muffin was hard and inedible. I'm trying to help prevent food waste but how can I do that if I can't eat what I'm given?

I only tried it because I could neither spell nor pronounce it, but my goodness was I glad I did. It was literally heaven in my mouth. Since then, I have nary turned down Kouign-Amman when I see it on a menu. But never has any tasted quite as good as the one in Sedona... Today came close when I stopped at Arsicault Bakery. The line was a little intimidating but once in line it moves quickly. 15 minutes. I love Kouign-amann for what it is and isn't. It has simple Ingredients. A classic pastry from Brittany, France, it only contains yeast dough, butter, and sugar. Bakers fold sugar and butter into the dough in layers. As it bakes, the sugar melts to create a crispy, caramelized crust on the outside and soft, buttery layers on the inside--with no fruit fillings, so the one I tried in Sedona did a modern twist on it that strayed from its traditional counterpart, which I just happened to absolutely love. The Arsicault version has an impeccably crispy, caramelized crust and buttery layers inside that are so spongy and soft. It was rounded perfection. Given that it's been 6 years since I was Layla's Bakery in Sedona I cannot with certainty say which was better: Sedona wins for modifying the traditional with added apple compote (kudos to them for that tweak), but Arsicault wins for how close it is to what the traditional kouign-amann should be. The crisp, caramelized outer layers contrast with the satisfyingly soft center. Perfection. They say Arsicault has the best croissants in San Francisco. I haven't tried many others here, but I believe from what I've had of this so far that statement is likely accurate. I am too full at present to eat the almond croissant, but will tonight to make my decision on how it fares compared to the best almond croissant I've had thus far--in Santa Barbara at Goat Tree Cafe.

Never could score a preorder box, and instead, line up at 7:45 (earliest you can line up) and wait until opening at 9. Usually spend total 1.5 hours here after receiving the pastries. No matter what flavor the croissant is, it is consistently flaky and buttery. The classic pistachio cardamom sugar croissant is one of my favorite sweet items. Its not too sweet and the flavors are prominent. The rice roll was my favorite monthly flavor for september. The bun was pillowy and soft with meat, scallions and cilantro scattered throughout. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. There is a max 10 pastries, 3 of each pastries limit for each party. They're also able to separate pastries into different boxes if requested when ordering.

The Pistachio croissant...Pretty special, I never had it with a cream filling. The little flat bread with eggplant and pomegranates and harissa drizzle...super!. Tahini chocolate.....the list goes on...The olive bread. So if you are going to make it to any part of the northern CA area, specially San Francisco (Yes, there are great bakeries around here), I would put this on the top of the list, as the preparation is all from scratch, and the unique flavors and approach to some well known treats is something one must enjoy. Oh, and on top of that, I ordered a plain espresso, and the barista managed to do it justice. So dont be on the fence on the coffee making and quality. The location is on the steeper roads that I have no idea how people deal with living here. Good job, as once you stop in the middle of the climb, you will likely spin some tire to get traction, and that is on a dry day! The bakery is among a residential area.

Here is what I found after having the one from B Patisserie: Pro: compote-ish filling, albeit very little of it, with no actual fruit so I couldn't tell if it was apple or pear. If they had included actual fruit that would've been a game changer for me. Or even more of it--with cinnamon. - there is indoor seating, which is nice if you're looking for that. Cons: - price point. Arsicault's KA is $5.50, compared to the $7 apiece here. I get it, the rental space is bigger and there is seating as opposed to the grab and go nature of Arsicault. I can do without seating. For the price differential, without more filling, the difference is immaterial for me so its higher price doesn't justify itself to me. - slightly smaller in size to Arsicault's round perfection of a KA - no real center of spongy soft goodness bc they fold it in at the outside and the pastry dips in the middle so you have less pastry. While both KA are good, I would say Arsicault wins out on overall taste. There is more to enjoy bc it's bigger, so the outer layer of caramelized crispness contrasts the soft, spongy filling. B Patisserie has the crispy outside but it's folded in at the edges for presentation and dips in the middle so there is less pastry that it's mostly just crispy with a small middle of filling. Good but overall, Arsicault is much more satisfying with a good cup of coffee for me.
