Soooo yummy with amazing service. Even at noon there were yummy options. Love that they had so many savory pastry options too. We love our SF staycations at the Hyatt and this place is directly below along with Rosalind's, which was more of a miss from taste and service pov but that's another review I decided not to leave. Our kids LOVED the spinach, feta and cream pastry, which is amazing since they get some greens in :-) we also go the ham and cheese, baked egg, apple pastry and the veggie croissant. They're all amazing! Also tried a vanilla latte -- they make their own vanilla syrup! Will definitely be back!

stopped by Boho Petite yesterday and i'm already planning my next visit!! this cute little grab and go spot is close to my work which is dangerous! i was walking by and saw so many pretty pastries and the Madagascar vanilla flan caught my eye. It's more like a pie with a buttery crust and not overly sweet which is exactly how i like my desserts. the packaging alone made it feel special Malcolm, the co-owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. he took time to chat with me about the shop and mentioned they have a flagship location in the Marina. you can tell he has serious culinary experience and is passionate about what he does. everything is baked fresh every morning which is a plus. i already have my eye on the blueberry roll for next time and a huge chocolate chip cookie that was only $4! can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu!!

It's been a little over a year since my first time trying B&C, and things have definitely changed…read moresince then--in a good way! I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

"Oh, Suzie Q, oh, Suzie Q Oh, Suzie Q, baby, I love you,…read moreSuzie Q" (Creedence Clearwater Reviva) When we were visiting our San Diego relatives last year, for whatever the reason, our conversation turned to bakeries in general and SusieCakes in particular. My California cousins were downright evangelical about them. The only other time I experienced a similar phenomenon was at work when a group of us were discussing supermarkets for the benefit of our new manager who had just moved to Connecticut from upstate New York. She got downright weepy when she was extolling the virtues of Wegman's to us. So, when we were walking around the block of our San Francisco hotel and spied a SusieCakes on Chestnut Street, well we really had no choice but to go inside and check out the buzz. When we walked in, we certainly understood the cause of that buzz. Some of the most gorgeous cakes I've ever seen were lined up in a showcase alongside cupcakes, cookies, and pies. We walked out with two big cookies that looked impossible to ignore: a Chocolate Chip baked with brown sugar, butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and a Snickerdoodle cookie with a cinnamon-sugar coating. Each was $3.99. My cousin told us that the Snickerdoodle reigned supreme in her house, so that set the bar pretty high for us. And after we split it... we agreed it was fantastic, maybe a 10.5 compared to the Chocolate Chip's 9.5. The SusieCakes buzz is most certainly a well-deserved buzz.

This is my favorite cake shop in the area and should be the bar for cakes everywhere…read more The buttercream on the cake is the best. It's soooooooooooooooo smooth and buttery. I would eat the cream by itself if they sold it that way. Good thing I don't live nearby. I saw one review say that some of their chocolate flavor or cookie flavors weren't as good, which I understand. I had a cookie cake and didn't taste the smooth, buttery taste I was looking for. I highly recommend cakes that let their vanilla frosting shine without mixing too many flavors. Flavors: - Raspberry & lychee was amazing - Key lime was a little too tart for my tastes, but I still loved the buttercream - Cookie was just ok

Very modern industrial, no seats, pickup only. Everyone was very nice as I pretended to fit in as someone who could splurge on $50 (4-6 little servings) worth of cake. I only got a taste of this cake from a friend of a friend's birthday cake leftovers. The chocolate dulce de leche one I initially tried was divine, but not available when I went in the afternoon a week later, so I settled on the lemon one, not bad. The buttercream was the best i've EVER had, and that's a big statement. These cakes are definitely designed for someone of a different income bracket than me, but if you want to treat yourself to a LUXURY slice of cake, ride your squeaky bike or cybertruck over to the Dogpatch (still a trip how upscale it's become the last 20 years) and feel like you're Marie Antoinette without a care in the world!

Every single asian female at my wedding said it was "Not to sweet!" which is THE highest compliment one could give a dessert. So many people came up to us saying "this is the first wedding cake I've ever liked" or "I don't like cake at all but what an interesting flavor combo." I had a crazy idea at one point to bake my own cake, but I am SO GLAD that everyone talked me out of it because I could never bake a cake as delicious as Liz and if I had done it, I would've never gotten to meet this incredible artist.

I actually found this place from Michelle aka @sfcheatdays, as she posted the cake for her bday! Ordering online was quick and easy and Liz will confirm your order within the next 24 hours. Once my order was confirmed, she included her address and very detailed description of where to stop on her busy street in SF. I actually had to make a change in pickup date and time and Liz was very accommodating! I had requested silver font instead of gold and she was very detail oriented asking if I wanted the topper to be coated in silver as well, since it was usually coated in gold. I appreciate she took the time to ask vs. just doing silver font and gold coating. Pickup was so easy, even though it was a busy day. She dropped off the cake on the floor of my front seat to make sure it was stable as well. Onto the taste of the cake! I ordered the Earl grey with brown sugar icing and it was soooo good! Tasted like a boba milk tea hehe! You need to take the cake out of the fridge at least 2 hours in advance of serving and we did just that. The cake was still a little chilled but so moist and fresh! We were so full after our dinner so we had so much cake left. We followed the instructions to wrap in Saran Wrap and we had delicious cake the next couple days! Also I'm so happy to be supporting an Asian AND woman-owned business in the Bay Area! I highly recommend Liz and her cakes and her customer service is on point! So glad I stumbled across her and can't wait to order more cakes from her in the future!!
