Tried their strawberry Cheesecake topped with Whipped Cream and Strawberry Compote on a Graham Cracker Crust. It's really flavorful and delicious! Highly recommended!

Cheesecake at the Ferry is great. They have a nice selection and the owner is nice. We tried cookies and cream. Also a slice of one that may have been vegan. It was candy cap mushroom and cashew. It was based on a too good to go so maybe older than a fresh slice of cheesecake. It was dry and crumbly. If we crave cheesecake I'd try a basic plain one next time.

3.5 STARS Salmon Lox Cheesecake?! As a lactose intolerant, it's worth the bubble guts to find out! Soft opening in the Ferry Building this week, Nash Bakes offers sweet and savory cheesecakes. The owner started selling cheesecakes in San Carlos and San Mateo, and this is his first permanent space (kiosk). Hours of operation: Open everyday, 10:30 am - 6:30 pm. M E N U Slices: $7 + 6 inch cheesecakes: $30 Current flavors: Vanilla, chocolate, cookies & cream, lemon poppy, raspberry swirl, passionfruit, black sesame, salted caramel, and salmon lox. Highly recommend buying a slice (small palm sized) to taste test before buying a whole cheesecake. * Salmon Lox Cheesecake Slice ($7 x2) Inspired by a salmon lox bagel, the tough bagel crust is layered with very dry crumbly cream cheese with a briny, citrus flavor from the capers and dill. Crowned with buttery, silky smooth cured lox (fav part). The gentleman said, it was baked fresh this morning and to eat it asap (we did) so not sure why the cream cheese was as dry as a scone. * Vanilla Cheesecake Slice ($7) The original fared better but was just ok, dense with a thick, sweet cookie crust. I prefer cheesecakes with a softer, creamy texture. Overall, I was disappointed with the cheesecakes' (2.5 stars) but it's soft opening for a small business so giving them grace. With Basuku and Zanze's gone (I know the latter is available frozen at Little Original Joe's but I miss the charm of their storefront), Nash Bakes may be welcome addition to the city.

Brand new cheesecake stand in the Ferry Building, filling the void of the old cheesecake stand. You can buy it by the slice or the whole cake. The slices look kinda small, compared to like Cheesecake Factory size, but they're rich and filling. Passionfruit Cheesecake: Love the contrast of rich dense cheesecake again tangy fresh passionfruit. They even left the seeds in, for a nice crunch. A good flavorful crust too. Probably my favorite here! Cookies & Cream Cheesecake: A really fun cheesecake. Reminded me of the ice cream, but not frozen. Loved how the crust was made from cookies too. Cookie Monster would definitely approve. Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake: Once again, I love the contrast of fruit and cheesecake. The swirl is more subtle than topping, so the cheesecake is the dominant flavor. But still a nice subtle medley. Salted Caramel Cheesecake: I was kinda expecting this to be more caramel intense. Like why not add some caramel swirls? It was sweeter than regular cheesecake and had a hint of caramel. Probably the least memorable. Black Sesame Cheesecake: This looked like something Wednesday Addams would totally approve of. It also had a not-that-sweet and kinda tahini-like taste. I enjoyed the uniqueness. Savory Salmon Cheesecake: Had to try this just to say I did. It wasn't as horrible as you'd think. The cheesecake is not sweet, so it kinda tasted like an oversized spread of dill cream cheese. The bagel crust is really crumbly. The salmon kinda gets overpowered by all the cheese. The capers and pickled onion add a nice contrast. Glad I tried, but not something I'd go for again.

Stand inside the middle of the ferry building selling slices and whole cheesecakes! I got the black sesame slice and it was good! I appreciated the thick layer of crust at the bottom which is a ratio I prefer. Crust itself was nice and crumbly. Flavor wasn't as strong, interested to try the others!

It's always nice to see shops and stands opening in the Ferry Building. Watching a local TV news broadcast , I learned about this new stand opening as they interviewed the young lady who manned this shop located by the right entrance door under the clock tower as you face the building. After finishing my Tuesday farmer's market shopping, I stopped here for a look. Looking at their signs, display case, and offerings, I asked for her recommendations, and she mentioned a few flavors. I decided to start off with two slices. The 1st one that I tried at home was the passion fruit cheesecake slice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=NHsAtlZVAssy83NldRXmxA); it was packed very nicely and very eye catching. It was tasty and not overly rich, dense, or sweet, but the passion fruit flavor was mild. Perhaps my palate is too demanding for that 'wow' factor. I also tried the black sesame cheesecake slice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=iTPW2HiCYJf4zOOkiLvBSg), less attractive, but my favorite of the two. Unlike the other one, the flavors here were bold and defined and I really enjoyed the crust that they paired with the cake. I will get this again. Thank you, Courtney, for describing the different flavors and sharing the background of your company. As I am watching my sweets, I am pacing myself in stopping here. I will try the Salted Caramel cheesecake next time I stop by and perhaps get another black sesame.

Creamy and flavorful. Used the app Too Good To Go to try out a surprise variety of cheesecakes from Nash Cakes, which I had been eyeing for a while. They were pretty cold when I got them so I let them sit out for 20 minutes before digging in. This really helped bring out their flavors more and prevent any crumbling of the cheesecake when piercing through them with a fork. I tried the Traditional, Candy Cap and Lemon Poppy. All three were delicious, it's hard to really rank them since they all had their own unique flavors. If I had to though, the Traditional would be #1 and then Candy Cap and Lemon Poppy come in at 2nd together. Just depends on what you're in the mood for. Candy Cap being warm with maple notes, Lemon Poppy being fresh with light creamy citrus notes.

    Looking good!!

Salmon Lox Cheesecake? That's something new this year! Might buy and bite next time. Just had to buy the Black Sesame Cheesecake instead! One of the specials before the seasonal changes. I should never forget to check on a one-man service where the atmosphere inside the Ferry Building was amazing as ever. Nash Bakes was as good as Cheesequakes!

My daughter and I were craving something sweet after eating burgers nearby. Saw this cute little stand selling whole cheesecakes and cheesecake slices. $8 for a slice of cheesecake is pretty pricey especially for the size of it but I was intrigued by the flavor options. I ended up grabbing the Candy Cap Mushroom with cashew slice and the cookies and cream slice because I mean... you can't go wrong with cookies and cream? Ate these when I got home and I was intrigued shock how good each slice was! I have to say the Candy Cap Mushroom with Cashew was my favorite. I didn't know exactly what to expect flavor wise but I guess you can say it tastes like maple syrup??? Anyways it was really good and I would definitely come back to this stand to try the other flavors they have next time! I still think $8 a slice for a tiny slice is a bit much but like I said, I would come back again still to try the other flavors.

I arrived at the bakery before it opened on a weekend morning, and there were already a couple of brave souls in line. I waited only about 25 minutes for the bakery to open, and once doors officially opened to customers, I was in and out in no time with my fresh pastries in hand. I enjoyed my almond croissant as soon as I got back home, and now I fully understand why Arsicault is at the top of everyone's SF bakery list. The almond croissant was still warm, the inside struck the perfect balance between fluffy and gooey (from the almond paste), and the exterior was nicely crisped. The almond filling is super rich and decadent yet not overly sweet. I also noticed - and appreciate - how Arsicault's almond croissant doesn't include toasted almonds on top, since these can often get over-baked and taste bitter. I definitely agree this is one of the best pastries in SF now.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

My husband got in line while I waited outside. It's on the first floor of the Japan Center Malls and easy to find in the corner. While the line was long it moved quickly and we ended up ordering two drinks and a few pastries. We had the drinks right away and I enjoyed their honeycomb toffee latte ($8.25) while my husband ordered a flavored lemonade. The Honeycomb latte wasn't overly sweet and the honeycomb on top was a nice treat. The honeycomb itself was sweet and crunchy and you can either pick it out and eat it or stir it into your drink and let it melt. The lemonade my husband ordered was on the sweeter side, but was super refreshing for summer. If you like sweet you'll like this- if you prefer less sweet or tart it may not be for you. We also brought home a few of their pastries. All of them were fresh and well made. The basque cheesecake was creamy and satisfying without being overly sweet. The chocolate chip cookie had dark chocolate and was really rich and satisfying. The last pastry I forget the name of but it was like a cinnamon roll but with an orange glaze and some cocoa powder, this one was also delicious and not overly sweet.
