    Opera cake
    Sylvia Y.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute lil bakery in the Marina.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I stopped in for an impromptu afternoon treat. Everything looked delicious but I opted for the Opera cake. The inside of the bakery was warm which had me worried initially but thankfully my cake came out cold / at the appropriate temperature. I wouldn't say it's the most stand out opera cake I've had, but not bad! Service was friendly and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No indoor seating which was a bummer but there were some tables outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A charming cafe with a variety of pastries! Seems like they specialize in sweets including fruit tarts, macaroons, and cakes. I enjoyed their spinach feta croissant and pistachio croissant, both were delicious. But it is a bit on the higher price range, I ended up paying a little over $16 for 2 pastries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No indoor seating but they have open and covered tables just outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Chocolate Flan

Stopped by here for a sweet treat after a doctor appointment. We got the chocolate flan and OMG!!! It was very decadent and rich. They had lots of yummy pastries to choose as well. But, I was happy with my choice. I'll definitely come back and try something different.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning as the window display looked delicious! The servers were incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the products. We decided to try the chocolate eclair and almond croissant, both were delicious but the filling in the eclair was slightly too sweet for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bakery is small but very cute and well decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to return!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]modern and elegant patisserie with a variety of classic and unique French pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried their pain au chocolate, tiramisu, fraisier and latte. The pastries are beautifully crafted and they wrapped them in a box for us to take. Must try for a sweet treat in the city.

Cute French patissiere serving pastries, desserts and even sandwiches! Service was great and their to go containers make sure nothing slides around in transport.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by while walking my dog. They are dog friendly and offered my pup a treat![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wanted to try out their chocolate croissant. It tasted great, the croissant is very buttery and the chocolate complements it nicely. I will say though it's only mildly crispy, there's other bakeries that have a more flaky croissant if that's what you're after.

Make a Wish cake- layers of chocolate cake and vanilla cream.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful service, delicious pastries along with tea and coffee drinks with a small seating area that accommodates well behaved pups- great for a nice treat any time of the day![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Iced Raspberry Matcha Latte with Almond Milk
    Dalia V.

I saw a sign outside advertising a seasonal raspberry matcha, so I figured I'd give the drink a try! The drink was pretty good, but not worth the $8+ price (almond milk costs extra). It was hard to mix the matcha and raspberry, so some sips were too sweet and some too bitter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service and ambiance of the bakery are nice though![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was a very good French patisserie that I happened to find while waiting to get dinner somewhere else in the area. They had a nice selection to choose from ranging from cookies and macarons to flans, other fancy pastries and even sandwiches. I thought that I had taken more pics of what I actually got but I think I just posted with a social media app so bummer there. I got the Flan Vanilla and it kind of reminded me of sort of a giant egg tart but maybe creamier and more vanilla. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, their petite four (bite sized cakes) and their Make a Wish (vanilla cake with chocolate ganache). I'd have to say the Make a Wish and the cookie were my favorite things. The make a wish was decadent but not too rich or sweet. The cookie was nice much sweeter so I needed a drink to even it all out. The cookie had the slightest crisp to the outside but was still soft on the inside. The person who helped me was very pleasant and patient as I had a few questions to ask him. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is pretty small and clean. It's basically 1 long counter with just enough space to stand and order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I'm in the area I'd gladly go back

Stopped by this small bakery on my walk to meet a friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was first drawn to the bakery by the cute pastry display on the front window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I walked in and was immediately greeted by the staff and received insightful information of the different pastries. I ended up getting the lemon tart which turned out to be amazingly delicious, just the right amount of tartness. One thing that I'd try next time is there pistachio tart. Overall, delicious spot!

    Cappuccino
    Jibu J.

Stopped by while getting kids ice cream next door. Definitely coming back next time I am in area to try the cakes. Got a cappuccino and some macaroons when there this time. Cappuccino was decent but not special, BUT the Macaroons were very good bordering on epic. Would come back even just to have them again.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

I arrived at the bakery before it opened on a weekend morning, and there were already a couple of brave souls in line. I waited only about 25 minutes for the bakery to open, and once doors officially opened to customers, I was in and out in no time with my fresh pastries in hand. I enjoyed my almond croissant as soon as I got back home, and now I fully understand why Arsicault is at the top of everyone's SF bakery list. The almond croissant was still warm, the inside struck the perfect balance between fluffy and gooey (from the almond paste), and the exterior was nicely crisped. The almond filling is super rich and decadent yet not overly sweet. I also noticed - and appreciate - how Arsicault's almond croissant doesn't include toasted almonds on top, since these can often get over-baked and taste bitter. I definitely agree this is one of the best pastries in SF now.

I ventured to Juniper during the late morning rush, and while there was a line out the door, it moved quickly and the bakers were hard at work keeping the pastries stocked throughout the morning. As I waited in line, I admired the impressive selection of sweet and savory croissants. Since I visited during the summer, many of the pastries featured fresh tomato and stone fruits. While I was tempted to try one of each, I was on a mission during this visit to try the black sesame kouign amann. When I placed my order at the counter, I was served a fresh-from-the oven kouign amann - this rarely happens! I couldn't resist trying a piece as I left the bakery, and it was indeed exquisite. The black sesame kouign amann from B. Patisserie is my gold standard, and Juniper's version is a close contender. While the black sesame flavor is much lighter and the texture fluffier than the B. I payed my $8 and was given the box containing my slice. My first thought holding it. "Wth.... is there anything in the box it felt empty?!?"
