Love Miette. Used to frequent the Miette in the Ferry Building, but this store in Hayes Valley is adorable. Some of the best cupcakes ever. So pretty and love their buttercream frosting. This store is also really cute with an ole fashioned candy store vibe. They have lots of cute glass jars of candies from both domestic and imported makers. And they also have yummy cookies and macarons. Service can be a hit or miss sometimes as some of the staff working there seemed bored.

I ordered a cake on a Friday for Sunday and they had it ready on a Sunday afternoon. I was satisfied with their quick service for making a cake on short notice. Cake was very pretty and chocolatey. It was quite rich and luxurious. Tasted even better a bit warmed up. I would suggest giving more than 2 days notice for some of the cakes. The ambiance of the store is pretty cute and colorful. I would be back to try other desserts.

Stopped by Miette for a little something sweet to go with our coffee and matcha latte. Got a couple of macarons and they were delicious, just enough to satisfy! Got the peach and the dulce de leche at $2.50 each. Their cupcakes were beautiful and only $4 each; maybe I'll try one next time!

I've been wanting to try Miette for awhile now. I finally got it off my bucket list after reading a recommendation from a thread from fellow yelpers. I went to the Octavia location. It was later of the day cause when I arrived only 2 cupcakes were left, BooHoo. SO I got the remaining chocolate cupcakes with strawberry butter cream. I was w/my daughter and we were getting candy bags as well. Got home tried the cupcakes. It was really good! The chocolate cake is soo moist. I love butter cream frosting but never had strawberry buttercream so I was skeptical! But yes it was really good as well!! The combination of both really satisfied my sweet tooth. I totally recommend and I also would love to visit the other location, ferry building. More cupcakes to feast! (I love the pink bag)

Great selection for candies and baked goods . Two cupcakes were really great. Gummies and chocolate were great. Definitely would come back to try some of the other baked goods. Staff was super nice as well. The store itself was super cute and decorated .

    Delicious caramel but lousy chocolate!

Although I really enjoyed their hand-wrapped caramels, I was extremely disappointed in their chocolate. I bought the Halloween ghost chocolates and they were inedible. They tasted like Nestle Rice Crispy Chocolate, but not even that good. How can a candy store allow their standards to sink that low? The young girl working Sunday was very sweet and honest enough to admit the company does not make their own chocolate. I respect her honesty, but they charge too much for that poor quality. If I was them, I'd raise my standards QUICK before the store goes out of business.

My wife loves this place along with the Ferry Building location. They make some very yummy sweets and desserts. This location isn't as busy as the Ferry Building so it is nice and it also has more stuff with their extensive candy selection. Lots of stand out items here such as these: Vanilla Tomboy Various flavors of macarons Chocolate cupcake with chocolate buttercream Chocolate cupcake with Italian meringue Raspberry cupcake Old Fashioned cake For our latest visit, I got her the Old Fashioned cake for her birthday. You don't often see this type of chocolate cake with a marshmallow icing. It looks decadent but the cake itself isn't too sweet since it is bittersweet chocolate which offsets the sweeter tasting frosting. Don't wait too long to eat this cake though because the moist cake can dry out since the outside is not frosted. Good value considering how much cake you get. Good thing we don't live too close to this place or else our sweet tooth would get the better of us!

This place has the most excellent tantalizing array of candies and sweets from macaroons to cakes and cupcakes, to licorice to bonbons and marshmallows, all exquisitely, packaged and arranged! They're always there to answer questions, and it has a decor that is beyond magical, it often feels like a movie set. It's so pristine. I always go for the ginger snaps, but buyer beware they run out do these quick! I also purchased chocolate malt balls, tangerine Turkish delight, mango gummy strips, and floral meringues. This is always a delight for me when I visit and reminds my of a place and time I wish to be in! Candyland here I come!

Perfect place to visit during Easter or anytime. Tucked away in hip Hayes Valley across from the park you might miss Miette but Don't! The interiors are beautifully executed in white & pink displaying sweets and treats that would make anyone smile. You almost feel like you're in Europe. Do recommend and We'll be Back!

The cupcake is really yummy, I was skeptical since there are quite a few reviews saying that they aren't good. I'm thinking it probably just depends on how long they've been in the display, but mine was perfectly moist and delicious! Also loved the buttercream, not too sweet and so smooth. The staff were also kind and the storefront is cute and vibrant.

    Pomegranate turkish delight

I come for the Turkish delight! A few years ago when I visited the Ferry Building Marketplace my friend bought some Turkish delight for me to try because I've never had it. It tasted amazing and I've been a fan ever since. Turkish delight is a sweet and chewy candy dusted with powdered sugar. If you're from Hawaii, this is similar to the Tomoe Ame rice candy. During my recent trip to San Francisco, I drove to this location because I figure the street parking in Hayes Valley would be easier compared to parking along the Embarcadero. I'm glad I came here because there were so many flavors of Turkish delight to choose from. The shop is small but every corner is filled with sweets. They have a variety of candies, cookies, macarons and cupcakes. I found myself buying more than just Turkish delights. If you have a craving for sweets, I recommend checking this place out. The street parking in this area was also free so you can spend a few hours walking around and checking out other shops or having lunch.

Chocolate chip cookies were light, crispy, and buttery. The candy looked very similar to Sugarfina with equally expensive prices.

It felt much more balanced and grown-up than the usual sugary version. The pastry I tried was also nicely done.. rich, layered, and satisfying without being too much. What stood out most to me, though, was the whole atmosphere. It feels part café, part chocolate boutique, part tasting experience. Even just browsing the bars and beautifully packaged products was fun. A really nice place if you enjoy thoughtful desserts and want something that feels a little more elevated than a typical coffee-and-pastry stop.

Last year I saw how insanely popular their Tokyo store was, so I finally tried this cafe for the first time because it was unusually empty as I was passing by. I had no idea what to order because the menu wasn't conspicuous to virginal visitors. Only later did I notice the drink menu on the left wall. The openly exposed desserts are what really caught my eye first. I decided to order the $6.75 Frozen Hot Chocolate because it frankly reminded me of the decadent monstrosities at the legendary Serendipity 3 in Manhattan's Midtown East (Photo 8). It was similar but not nearly as huge of pricy. I liked it a lot though with a generous dollop of whipped cream, it was more a mid-afternoon dessert. That should've been enough, but the confections on display were too inviting. Filled with 70% Takyikrom and Ghana chocolate ganache, the $8 Apple Donut was freckled with candied apple bits and tossed in spiced sugar (Photo 9). Delightfully decadent. We had very short notice (Less than 16 hours) to order 40+ croissants. Many bakeries declined our order due to short notice, but Yoel at Tartine came through and was able to get our order in. We placed the order around 5PM on a Tuesday for pick up at 8am on Wednesday - which is unheard of! I really appreciate the extra attention and hustle of Tartine to make the order happen, and the croissants were a huge hit (because they are so delicious). Big thanks to Tartine!

Lovingly, they arranged for us to meet up for dinner Friday night. We had discussed with my cousins before visiting them that my wife wanted to check out two renowned bakeries in the Bay Area, Tartine and Arizmendi. My cousin and her husband graciously and kindly offered to drive us around downtown San Francisco Saturday morning to visit these bakeries and we had such a great time on our personalized Bay Area foodie tour narrated by my well-informed cousin-in-law (CIL). Our first stop on this belly stuffing foodie tour was Tartine, which served one of the yummiest almond croissants I've ever eaten. That pastry alone warrants a visit to this highly rated and highly reviewed bakery. Since our CIL was in the know about The City's downtown eateries and bakeries, he recommended that we start out early to visit Tartine because he said that lines to these places could get crazy long. Thankfully for us, we got to Tartine before it opened and were second in line to enter. Tartine is a well chronicled bakery with locations around the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Seoul, Korea. The location we visited is on Guerrero and 18th streets in the Mission District and it's across from Pay And Save Grocery. Parking might be challenging with street and metered parking. As soon as you enter the bakery, there's a hipster and local mom and pop business vibe. You're greeted by glass cases displaying beautiful cakes, pastries, breads, loaves, scones, and cookies. There are stool seats and elevated chairs where you can eat on planks of wood either facing the steady flow of customers or looking outside. I liked how there were paintings hanging from what appeared to be from local artists. The staff were friendly and took care of us pretty quickly. Tartine was our first stop in what would be a fun foodie adventure. Since I always start my day with a cup of coffee, I ordered caramel cappuccino. The foam on top had a beautifully designed heart from the barista, but I like my coffee sweet and after my first sip, I knew I had to add some type of sweetener. I used a lot of their complimentary honey to make it sweeter. My wife, who works in the baking industry, had placed Tartine on her list of places she wanted to visit to experience their scones and pastries. If my wife knew about this bakery, then I knew that I'd be indulging in baked goods of the highest caliber. Of course I let my wife pick what she thought were the best items, but I asked the customer who was the first person in line what Tartine was known for and she said their almond croissants, so when it was our turn to make our selections, I asked for Tartine's Frangipane Croissant, which has almond-cream filling and brandy. Brandy?!!?? Honestly, I don't remember tasting any brandy, but what I do remember was flakiness of the croissant, the thick cut almonds on top, the heartiness of the croissant, and the generous amount of almond-cream filling. It was a beautiful looking pastry and the taste was even better. Seriously, one of the most memorable croissants I've ever eaten. My family and I are blessed to have family willing to take time out of their morning to take us on a guided foodie tour to some iconic bakeries and local eateries. Our first bakery stop was Tartine and after eating that delectable almond croissant, the other bakeries would be hard pressed to beat them.
