Macaron towers from Colette Macaron at our wedding reception. Cake and mini cupcakes from Nothing Bundt Cake. (photo by: JL Events)
    Bonnie Z.

After trying some macarons from Colette Macaron last year at a Yelp Event, I knew I would want them again for special events in my life. What's more special than a wedding reception?! In lieu of just serving cake, my husband and I set up a dessert table at our reception with macarons from Colette Macaron and mini cupcakes and slices of cake from Nothing Bundt Cake. We also had a boba bar from Gong Cha. We really wanted the food at our reception to shine! It was really easy to email the owner, Anita, to get a quote for macarons. After I told her what we planned to serve for dessert and our color scheme (light purple/pink), she gave me some suggestions for flavors. We ended up going with ube, balsamic strawberry, and Nutella flavors in a light pink/purple/cream design with gold paint decorations. All our guests loved the flavors and we had no macarons left over (we also put out some to-go boxes at the end of the night for people to take things home). Anita was helpful in suggesting times of delivery based on our reception timeline. The macarons were delivered on time to Los Altos from San Francisco and things still tasted great a few hours after delivery. Anita also clarified the ingredients in the macarons so I could put up some allergy notices on my menu signs. Overall I recommend Colette Macaron if you want a unique, delicious, and beautiful dessert for your event.

These were the perfect snack at our pride picnic! They tasted so great and stayed fresh in the fridge overnight. The delivery was smooth. 10/10 would get again.

Sorry Anita, this review is long overdue! Her macarons are like no other - full of flavor, creative, beautiful, adorable, colorful, etc. Anita is talented, so very sweet and personable. We love to order from her to enjoy and share her specialties! When you see and eat her creations you will know how amazing she is!

Custom birthday macarons for a spa-themed party

Colette made gorgeous custom macarons for my daughter's 7th birthday. The kids were all so excited and couldn't get enough!! The team at Colette was very easy to work with, reliable, flexible, and delivered on time.

Here's a much-delayed shout-out to Colette Macaron, our family favorite indulgence! Imagine macarons so vibrant and delicious that they delight children and adults alike; that is the magic Anita creates. It's not just about their visual appeal (which is stunning, by the way) but also their delectable taste - that's why my children have become huge fans! I've reached out to Anita for custom-made macarons for various themed birthday parties; her creations were nothing short of impressive each time. The way she brings the party theme to life with these flavorful bites amazes guests, who can't help but praise the taste and design.

I ordered some matcha boba macarons to use as favors for my storybook themed baby shower in November (paired with the bilingual book "I Love Boba" by Katrina Liu). I reached out online 2-3 weeks before my event. Anita responded quickly and gave clear information about flavors, pricing, etc. Ordering, delivery, and the macarons themselves were great. The matcha flavor was not too sweet and the boba design was so cute. I'm glad I went with Colette Macaron and would order from them in the future.

You will NOT find a better macaron! I tasted macarons from different specialty bakeries, personal bakers and mass produced establishments...Colette Macarons are THE BEST. The flavors are vibrant, true to taste, have good 'feet', perfect interior chewy-ness. The flavors are also very unique. You also cannot beat the price per unit...and if you are lucky to live in SF, there's curbside delivery at no charge. Packaging is done very well and comes with a personalized card if it's a gift. I've had deliveries to my home and friends houses - delivered on time and as promised.

My friend had a macarons tower (Nutella, ube, and balsamic strawberry) for dessert at her wedding. I loved the idea compared to traditional cake. So pretty with sprinkle of edible gold, and and melt in your mouth good!

Anita was AMAZiNG! We were planning our wedding in the Bay Area while living in LA and she made it such an easy and seamless process! She gave quick responses to my emails and gave her professional recommendations based on our vision. All I had to do was tell her what I needed, how I wanted it to look, and send her reference pics and she made it happen! The flavors were SOOO good. We wanted a lot of asian-based flavors and she gave us just that. Not to mention how beautiful our tower and macaron favor boxes were! She even let us send her our own label to print and put on the boxes. She really allowed us to make it our own and she brought our vision to life! She delivered and set up everything and our guests could not stop raving about it! Looking forward to the next time we are in the Bay Area, she'll be the first one we order from. Thank you, Anita!!

I contacted Anita of Colette Macaron with a pretty specific vision of custom macarons I wanted made for a wedding anniversary gift. Anita got back to me within a day and we were able to go back and forth with more ideas pretty quickly. Anita was very easy to work with and kindly delivered the macarons within the agreed upon timeframe. When I got the macarons today, I was absolutely floored by how they looked. They look even better than I had imagined! Of course, great looking macarons are nice but they should taste good too. The 2 flavors (peppermint brownie and earl grey) tasted so good. I've had other macarons before where I have to really think about what the flavors are, not so with Colette Macaron. I can't wait to try more from Anita in the future!

We got a box of 4 custom macarons for party favors.

I strongly recommend Colette Macarons. We worked with Anita for about a dozen boxes of 4 macarons for party favor packs. They were quick to respond and very communicative. Everything went smoothly from the order discussion to the delivery. The macarons were perfect *chefs kiss* with the right amount of bite to them and scrumptious flavors.

Found Colette Macaron last minute and was able to place an order with Anita last minute for next day delivery through email. Anita was super fast at responding and made the transaction super easy. I just told her what I wanted, the flavors and how many of each and she sent me an invoice to pay through square and that's it! She delivered within the time frame she promised the next day. Loved the packaging and she included a little birthday note for my friend. My friend loved her macarons and said they were really good. I also ordered a few for my daughter and she loved them! Will definitely order from Anita again in the near future!

The small personal touches (Friends font and dots) made the macarons so much more special.

It felt much more balanced and grown-up than the usual sugary version. The pastry I tried was also nicely done.. rich, layered, and satisfying without being too much. What stood out most to me, though, was the whole atmosphere. It feels part café, part chocolate boutique, part tasting experience. Even just browsing the bars and beautifully packaged products was fun. A really nice place if you enjoy thoughtful desserts and want something that feels a little more elevated than a typical coffee-and-pastry stop.

Last year I saw how insanely popular their Tokyo store was, so I finally tried this cafe for the first time because it was unusually empty as I was passing by. I had no idea what to order because the menu wasn't conspicuous to virginal visitors. Only later did I notice the drink menu on the left wall. The openly exposed desserts are what really caught my eye first. I decided to order the $6.75 Frozen Hot Chocolate because it frankly reminded me of the decadent monstrosities at the legendary Serendipity 3 in Manhattan's Midtown East (Photo 8). It was similar but not nearly as huge of pricy. I liked it a lot though with a generous dollop of whipped cream, it was more a mid-afternoon dessert. That should've been enough, but the confections on display were too inviting. We had very short notice (Less than 16 hours) to order 40+ croissants. Many bakeries declined our order due to short notice, but Yoel at Tartine came through and was able to get our order in. We placed the order around 5PM on a Tuesday for pick up at 8am on Wednesday - which is unheard of! Lovingly, they arranged for us to meet up for dinner Friday night. We had discussed with my cousins before visiting them that my wife wanted to check out two renowned bakeries in the Bay Area, Tartine and Arizmendi. My cousin and her husband graciously and kindly offered to drive us around downtown San Francisco Saturday morning to visit these bakeries and we had such a great time on our personalized Bay Area foodie tour narrated by my well-informed cousin-in-law (CIL). Our first stop on this belly stuffing foodie tour was Tartine, which served one of the yummiest almond croissants I've ever eaten. That pastry alone warrants a visit to this highly rated and highly reviewed bakery. Since our CIL was in the know about The City's downtown eateries and bakeries, he recommended that we start out early to visit Tartine because he said that lines to these places could get crazy long. Thankfully for us, we got to Tartine before it opened and were second in line to enter. Tartine is a well chronicled bakery with locations around the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Seoul, Korea. The location we visited is on Guerrero and 18th streets in the Mission District and it's across from Pay And Save Grocery. Parking might be challenging with street and metered parking. As soon as you enter the bakery, there's a hipster and local mom and pop business vibe. You're greeted by glass cases displaying beautiful cakes, pastries, breads, loaves, scones, and cookies. There are stool seats and elevated chairs where you can eat on planks of wood either facing the steady flow of customers or looking outside. I liked how there were paintings hanging from what appeared to be from local artists. The staff were friendly and took care of us pretty quickly. Tartine was our first stop in what would be a fun foodie adventure. Since I always start my day with a cup of coffee, I ordered caramel cappuccino. The foam on top had a beautifully designed heart from the barista, but I like my coffee sweet and after my first sip, I knew I had to add some type of sweetener. I used a lot of their complimentary honey to make it sweeter. My wife, who works in the baking industry, had placed Tartine on her list of places she wanted to visit to experience their scones and pastries. If my wife knew about this bakery, then I knew that I'd be indulging in baked goods of the highest caliber. Of course I let my wife pick what she thought were the best items, but I asked the customer who was the first person in line what Tartine was known for and she said their almond croissants, so when it was our turn to make our selections, I asked for Tartine's Frangipane Croissant, which has almond-cream filling and brandy. Brandy?!!?? Honestly, I don't remember tasting any brandy, but what I do remember was flakiness of the croissant, the thick cut almonds on top, the heartiness of the croissant, and the generous amount of almond-cream filling. It was a beautiful looking pastry and the taste was even better. Seriously, one of the most memorable croissants I've ever eaten. My family and I are blessed to have family willing to take time out of their morning to take us on a guided foodie tour to some iconic bakeries and local eateries. Our first bakery stop was Tartine and after eating that delectable almond croissant, the other bakeries would be hard pressed to beat them.
