While sampling four different, high-quality delicious flavors she had baked that day, together we designed a gorgeous, natural, unique wedding cake full of inspiration. It combined elements of our venue in the rice paper frosting, a unique square tiered asymmetrical shape that harkened back to a private memory, and the beauty of the surrounding natural environment of our wedding location. Working with Jasmine was an incredible experience and was one of our favorite parts of the whole two years wedding planning. It started with the design consultation, which was so much fun. Jasmine asked not just about our preferences but about who were as as people and as a couple. She is extremely insightful and after listening patiently and drawing out our personalities, she came up with some awesome ideas the really felt like they represented the core of ourselves and our relationship. We learned about ourselves that day and she made us feel so seen. Once we had a design in mind we worked through size and pricing. For a wedding cake prices were in the mid thousands, which sounds expensive for a cake but we believe is an *extremely* fair price given what you get (especially considering other places in the wedding industry charge through the nose for much less). The price covers a full custom sculpture as well as the incredible design experience mentioned above, a tasting session and high-end flavor experience, and transport. Jasmine took care to work with our budget and gave us a variety of options trading size vs. amount of cake vs. number of flavors in order to get us something we were happy with at a price we were happy with. Then we got to do the flavor tasting, which was ....goodness. We tried three flavors, all of which were unique and delicious and exactly what we had described wanting to try. Jasmine was more than willing to work with us to incorporate minor changes to one of the flavors, and we ended up going with all three. Throughout the process, both Jasmine and her assistant were polite and professional. When we arrived, the cake was set up beautifully. We quite literally gasped when we saw the way the light shone through the petals. It was so perfectly us and felt like an extension of our love. It was a top 10 wedding moment. The first bite was amazing, and the flavors were just as good as we expected from the tasting. Everyone really enjoyed it. At the end of the night, we did have some trouble figuring out how to get the top (styrofoam) half of the cake home, but eventually managed to transport it carefully back. Jasmine gifts both the styrofoam portion and the cake stand to you as part of the package, and the fondant does not go bad so you can keep the sculpture forever. It now adorns our living room. For my 21st birthday, my roommates and best friends chipped in to get me the best cake to celebrate my transition from Princess Surge into Queen Surge. Where did they get the cake suited for my taste? Jasmine Rae! When the cake came out I was convinced it was a real pineapple mounted on a plaque. I was amazed by the detail in color and shape. I could tell they got this cake from an amazing bakery. Not only did the cake look amazing, it tasted just as great. Since it was a 3D pineapple, the pieces were enormous and there was plenty left after my party of 20 had a slice. The cake was rich with chocolate, dessert wine, and strawberry preserves. I purchased a 30 cupcake deal via DailyCandy, and called Jasmine to place the order 2 weeks before the date. She informed me that I could either choose one flavor, or she could do a random assortment. I opted for the random assortment, and let her know it was for a kid's birthday, so we would prefer flavors that little kids could enjoy as well. I threw away the box where she wrote down the flavors, but from what I can remember they were- -Lemon Cupcake w/ Lemon Curd and Meringue Frosting -Raspberry Cupcake with Marscapone Frosting Topped w/ Chocolate Chips -Chocolate Salted Caramel Cupcake -I think a Chocolate Cupcake w/ Cinnamon Frosting My favorite was the raspberry cupcake, since it had actual raspberries in the cake!! A lot of people like the lemon cupcake and the chocolate salted caramel cupcake, and I had many inquiries as to where I purchased the cupcakes. The most exquisite cake designer! All her work is a piece of art. Our wedding cake turned out to be better than what we could have imagined. Supreme! Jasmine's consultation was a relaxing interview to understand the couple's personality, history and expectations. I have never seen any cake so beautiful as ours...the details are so intricate...and the bow looks like it was made out of fabric. Amazing! Jasmine Rae went above and beyond in creating an AMAZING wedding cake for my wedding this past summer! We had the pleasure of meeting her at her studio the week of our wedding to do a tasting of the concoction we had planned over the phone. Living in Colorado and planning a destination wedding in SF was stressful enough, but Jasmine had our back! We had an initial consultation over the phone where Jasmine was able to get to know us. After a brief phone call, she was able to design and create a beautiful masterpiece that will be remembered for the rest of our lives She created a dirty coconut cake with an almond frangipan and passionfruit curd that was OMG spectacular and shaped like a rough, block of wood with flowers growing out of the top of it! I can report that after the cake was cut and distributed that there was not a simple crumb left on anyone's plate at our reception. In addition, almost everyone proclaimed it to be the best cake that they had ever eaten in their lives (myself included)! I am not the biggest fan of sweets, and Jasmine represented the cake so amazing well that the flavor profiles really came through instead of an overpowering sense of sugary sweet. Lastly, the design of the cake was so phenomenal that it blew everyone's minds! It was so well designed and built, that the photographers actually mistook the cake for a reception prop and had to go back in to take pictures of the cake. I would not re-do the decision to go with Jasmine Rae Bakery at all! Her cake performed so well and was everything that I could have asked for and more! I can not say how great of cake Jasmine turned out for my husband's 31st birthday! I needed a very basic design, but was really concerned about the text (it was written in the programing language Python). Jasmine did a FABULOUS job in getting the code right as well as turning out a deliciously tasting cake (see photo)!! Jasmine herself was personable and you could tell she really takes pride in her work. The only reason why I couldn't give her the full 5 stars is for a slight lack of organization (in regards to billing). I paid for my cake in cash and literally just handed it to her, no invoice, no receipt, no proof of payment, only a smile and a pick up time. She charges about $5/slice, meaning a wedding cake would be a pretty hefty transaction. Since my cake was $50, maybe she didn't feel the need to set up an invoice, but it would've been nice. I wanted to have a bakery make a Nikon D700 camera cake. I searched on the internet trying to find if anyone had attempted to make a Nikon camera cake before. I did found some photos of a Nikon D700 camera cake so I printed it out and started searching for a bakery that may be able to do it. When I search here on Yelp, I found Jasmine Rae Bakery. I saw their photos of cakes and thought, may be she can make a cake that looks close to the real thing. I didn't expected much honestly. With all the small details on the Nikon D700, I know it must be very difficult and technical to make. I called Jasmine and she was so pleasant and accommodating. She was very patient and attentive as to what exactly what I wanted. I email her the picture of the camera cake I found on the internet. Honestly, there were so many small details on the Nikon D700 camera that I did not expect Jasmine to make the final product as close to the real camera as she did. I really under estimated her precious talents. The cake she made was 10 times better looking than the one I found on the internet. (I mean, just look at the pictures I posted on here!) She pretty much got all the buttons, the actual camera size, signs on the buttons, camera lens, view finder, viewing screen...all the details, down to a T. She put so much heart into this piece of creation of hers. When I took out the cake after the birthday dinner, all our friends were surrounding the cake taking pictures for half an hour. We simply just couldn't believe HOW REAL it looked and how great it tasted! Few days later when I posted the Camera cake pictures on Facebook, EVERYBODY commented on it. Even friends of friends (people we didn't even know) would ask us about it. People at parties would even say, "oh hey! we never met before but I saw your camera cake picture! The next few months, that was what everyone talked about when they saw my boyfriend & I. I felt so lucky to find Jasmine. The cake was way beyond what I can ever image. It tasted so great as well. It was chocolate. It tasted creamy, the sweetness was and the favor was just right. No one could get enough of it! Jasmine should receive some kind of award for her "god-given" talent. We met Jasmine several times to discuss the design of our wedding cake because we had a specific idea in mine. We wanted her to design our cake to resemble a marble sculpture that my Grandma had made, called "Ode to Humankind". Not only did she execute said design to a T, she was a joy to work with and the cake was THE BEST CAKE I'VE EVER TASTED, (and typically I don't even like cake-I'm more of a frosting gal) even the fondant, (which normally tastes like glue paste) was delicious. We chose a Lemon-Lavender Cake with Passion Fruit Curd as the filling and a Mascarpone Frosting, (for the sheet cake)...we needed the fondant for the structural integrity of the ceremony cake. I can't tell you how many people told us this was the absolute best cake they've ever tasted. We can't recommend Jasmine Rae Bakery enough. I chose Jasmine for my wedding cake because I knew I wanted a matcha green tea cake and looked for an SF bakery that could give me my dream cake. I was totally surprised with Jasmine's set up, which isn't a storefront but a space in an artist's building on Bryant. I had told her that I really wanted a matcha cake with passionfruit filling for one layer and dark chocolate with raspberry filling for the other layer. She prepared these two cupcakes as well as a lemon/raspberry and caramel cupcakes for my tasting. She was so much fun to work with and has amazing recipes. On my wedding day, the cake was at the end of a 10 course chinese banquet. Everyone was already in a food coma but when that cake was served, everyone came back to life and the party kept going! Many people told me it was the best wedding cake they have every had and I have to agree (although I might be slightly biased). It was very important to me that all of the food on my wedding day be really good (since I am such a foodie) and Jasmine Rae gave me my dream cake. I have never met Jasmine Rae, never set foot in her bakery, and yet I am *IN LOVE* with her cupcakes!!!! Two of my friends got married a few weeks ago here in San Francisco, and had her cupcakes (and a small cake) at the reception...I also was lucky enough to sample them in advance the evening after they'd done a tasting with her...on both occasions, my mouth was set ablaze with explosions of beautiful flavors that really married one another perfectly...in short, her cupcakes are DELICIOUS!!! I'd like to add that had I walked into her bakery, I never would've ordered any of these four flavors that I tried, because I'm really very boring when it comes to my taste in sweets: I've always preferred simplicity, plain ol' dark chocolate or lemon, nothing too fancy or complicated for my palate. But OH!!!! What I would've missed out on if my friends hadn't convinced me to try these gorgeous flavor combinations!!!! My favorite was the Dark Chocolate with Kumquat...so rich, such a great flavor combination!!! More complex than the usual orange-with-chocolate thing, with a big, thick layer of swirled ganache frosting on top...*drool*!!! My second favorite was the Chai Tea with Brown Sugar & Burnt Caramel....Absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!!!! This was also my husband's favorite of the four, a surprise to me that I loved it, since I don't generally like chai flavoring! A definite must-try!!! I also enjoyed the Peanut Butter Espresso Caramel & Sea Salt...YUM!!! I don't remember all of what was in the last one, but I'm pretty sure it had marsala wine in it, which is something I NEVER thought I'd ever enjoy in a cupcake...and yet it was addictive!!! I first met Jasmine when she did the cakes for my wedding. As soon as we had our first sample at the tasting we knew she would be "the one." She was very flexible with us on how we wanted each cake to look inside and out, didn't push for anything we didn't want, and on the day of our wedding delivered cakes that were more beautiful and delicious than we ever expected. She ended up making a lemon/vanilla cake for our main wedding cake, a red velvet cake for my husband's "groom's cake," and a chocolate salted caramel cake for my birthday cake, it was a dual celebration. Everything was a huge hit, except for the Chocolate Salted Caramel cake -- THAT one was nothing short of cake nirvana. I can't tell you how many of our wedding guests called me up afterwards to find out who had made that chocolate salted caramel cake. It was like they were obsessed with it and wanted to order one just to take home and bathe themselves in. It was kind of weird, actually. Even family friends who are themselves professional pastry chefs have called us up and said, "what was the name of that person who did that Chocolate Salted Caramel cake?" We have ordered the Chocolate Salted Caramel cake again and again for every birthday in the family and for all of my friends, every dinner party, and every other excuse we can come up with to serve cake. Every time anyone has a birthday who remotely knows me or who has ever attended any dinner party I've thrown they ask for the name of the baker who made that cake. I've actually started to have a bit of a negative reaction to thinking about that damn cake because every time we order it I gorge myself on the leftovers until I can't physically eat any more, and then I eat a little bit more. Okay, a lot more. When my sister got married, I found out at the very last minute that she had decided she was just going to serve a small vegan gluten-free cake (not from Jasmine) for her 150 guests, most of which who were neither vegan nor gluten-free. Although she threatened to de-sister me for doing so, I took it upon myself to secretly order two large cakes from Jasmine Rae. Everyone who found out I was buying "secret cakes" for the wedding said, "oooooh, you have to order that Chocolate Salted Caramel cake." As if any other thought had crossed my mind. I ordered that damn CSC cake, and then (because I was having CSC PTSD by that point) I also changed it up by ordering a large white cake with cream cheese/fresh raspberry filling. Of course the wedding guests were enthralled with the CSC cake and were crowded around that table, once they tasted the white cake they were shocked to find out that there could be a cake just as good as the CSC. My husband and I brought the leftovers of both cakes home and he gorged on the chocolate, I on the white. I don't yet have white cake PTSD, that will probably come after many occasions of ordering that one in the future. Jasmine is the sweetest young lady you will meet, loves her craft, and is very very talented. She's a little pricey, because she CAN be, but her cakes are well well well worth the cost. read more

First of all, Jasmine is a self-taught artist-turned-baker and bakes out of a art studio situated in a building primarily occupied by other artists. She did our wedding cake this past August and I cannot express how happy I am with the result. See my posted photos of the cake. During the cake tasting, Jasmine wowed us with her creative combinations (which she gives to you in the form of 10 cupcakes... 5 for the tasting and 5 to take home and taste again!) such as chocolate, espresso, salted caramel or raspberry, rosemary and cornmeal, or gingerbread and apple (I forgot the exact combos). We loved how enthusiastic she was in doing custom flavors and loved that she doesn't charge for more flavors. Her genuine passion for making the cake of your dreams along with her can-do/experimental spirit made it a no-brainer choice for us; she was perfect for the job. I had envisioned a cake that mimicked the various layers of my wedding dress and she drew a sketch and showed us the approximate height of the cake using her baking pans in her studio. She gave us a reasonable price quote of $8/slice (compared to $10/slice from another vendor we consulted) to pipe in the design on layers of fondant. The flavors we ended up picking were 1. limoncello with lemon cream and fresh raspberries and 2. chcolate with hazelnut cream and chunks of hazelnut (ie, Ferrero Rocher). The result: the cake (which was delivered on time for a nominal fee) could not be more BEAUTIFUL and our guests were raving about how wonderful the cake looked. The cake worked perfectly with my custom cake topper from Etsy and became the centerpiece of the wedding. More importantly, the cake was soooo delicious: super moist and not overly sweet (very important for our asian palettes!) The cake is the MOST important part of the wedding to me and Jasmine's cake did not disappoint!!! The only caveat of warning is that Jasmine is still building her business and is becoming extremely popular so it took a while to get our official contract (though she assured me many times over the phone not to worry about the contract and that she was 100% committed to doing my cake). She sent me the contract the week of the wedding with all the details that we had talked about over the phone, so I knew she was on the ball. :) And a piece of advice to brides/grooms out there: most places will inevitably cut teeny slices (1/4-1/2 of a real "slice") so don't order 1 piece of cake per guest; it'll be too much (we ordered 1 per guest and ended up with 2 tiers of uneaten cake to take home!!!). i would say order enough for 75% of your guests and ask the wait staff not to save your top tier if you don't want (I forgot to do that, but oh well, I look forward to eating the cake again!) I just got married Sept 3rd and was lucky enough to have picked Jasmine to bake our Cakes (big beautiful wedge-wood inspired 3 tier square, and a carved groom's cake shaped like our dog). We thought picking a baker would be easy but each tasting brought with it a let down, until we met Jasmine! She was sweet, professional, organized and made us fabulous flavors for our tasting. We ended up asking for custom flavors that turned out amazing (Guinness chocolate cake with salted caramel and chocolate ganash, almond Baily's cake with Nutella chocolate ganash, red-wine chocolate with raspberries and chocolate ganash, and the last was apple cake with cream cheese). The process was quick too, a month at most. We chatted with her team about our wedding colors, cakes we liked from Pinterest, and flavors. Jasmine is far more than your average baker; she is a true artist! After having to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, my husband and I scrambled to plan our wedding once California changed its wedding guidance in 2021. With only a few months until our wedding, we reached out to Jasmine hoping she could pencil us in for our small art museum wedding in San Francisco. Not only did she manage to fit us in, but she went above and beyond with the cake she delivered! Knowing her level of skill, we happily accepted Jasmine's offer to surprise us with the design of our cake. We explained the flavors we wanted (a chocolate espresso flavor for my husband and a chai, roasted apples and feta flavor for me), our love of the water when we travel, our preference for a unique design that incorporates a marble look (since our venue has marble throughout) and our desire to have the cake look like a work of art you'd find in our venue, and WOW, did she deliver!!! Jasmine Rae Bakery concocts stunning creations that are not only works of art but also mouth-watering combinations of flavors to meet anyone's sweet tooth. The Major Plusses (+): + Jasmine nailed the design! I had described what I wanted verbally and sent her links of what I needed. The design was of a particular European soccer team jersey. The design was exactly like the real jersey in the right color and shade. + Great details! She wrote "Happy Birthday" in Greek! It was flawless penmanship! + Spectacular creativity!!! She didn't just cut out a sheet cake and slapped on the design. She made the soccer jersey look as if it has been thrown on the grass! Wow!! I had expected just a regular sheet cake cut in a rectangular shape but no! It looked like a real jersey! One guest exclaimed that he had thought I had presented not a cake--but a soccer jersey! + Taste matches impressive design!!! Artists may not be able to execute both design and taste but Jasmine Rae Bakery did!!! I had ordered chocolate with coffee cream. Everyone who ate it exclaimed how moist and tasty the combination worked! It all worked!! + Timely and attentive! Jasmine is incredible. She designed and baked hands down the best wedding cake ever for our wedding night. As a client you start by filling out a survey of all of your personal tastes - we put in that we love booze, savory and spicy flavors. Nothing super sweet. From this we had the absolute best tasting - 6 different flavor combinations that seriously hit the nail on the head. We ended up picking 3, a chocolate with all sorts of yummy wine and booze flavors in the cake, ganache, buttercream and fruit filling. A lavender scented corn cake with a goat cheese filling and salted ganache (SOOOO GOOOOOD) and a tamarind yellow cake with cocunut pastry cream, cayenne peper and lime buttercream. (again...YUM!!!!) Her design was modern and right on par with what we wanted - it was a great replica of our wedding robot that was our flower girl / ring bearer. And I have to also say a great bang for your buck. With all of these awesome flavors, fondant work, gel thingies that glowed blue, delivery and everything else it was $8 a slice. I think that's amazing. AND!!! we have a few leftovers in our freezer. I can't tell you how many people always say that they never get to try their cake and true we only had a few bites at the wedding but she made enough so that we had a really tasty pink cake box with all 3 flavors to take home. My boyfriend worked with Jasmine personally to create what I like to call a "designer cake" for me for my birthday and I could not have been more pleased with it. It was a complete surprise to me, and I could not wipe the cheesy smile off my face for the rest of the night. She created a Piglet (yes, I'm an adult and still love Piglet....don't judge me) champagne cake w/ raspberry icing that was SO pretty I did not want to eat it. It actually made me want to cringe when we were slicing up piglet's face. The details on the cake were amazing!!! The shading and contouring were perfect. The cake was delicious, particularly because it wasn't overwhelming sweet. The cake had multiple layers with icing in between- this was a little too much for me, but scraping off a few layers did the trick. The leftover cake saved well, and I was able to enjoy it throughout the week- taking the cake out of the fridge before dinner and letting it get to room temp made it just as enjoyable as the first bite! Jasmine was the baker/designer for our wedding cake through our vendor (Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco) for our wedding this past October. Jasmine was very accommodating and courteous both via email, phone and in-person. After meeting her for our cake tasting, in which she prepared four gorgeous samples of cake (all of which had very sophisticated and varying flavors and textures), we were absolutely convinced that we wanted her to create the cake for our wedding. She was very open to our ideas, both in terms of flavors and design, and worked with us to create two flavors that we would use in our final wedding cake. I contacted Jasmine during the busiest season of the year, late December, to see if she could make 50 or so cupcakes for a cocktail party I was throwing. I throw super swanky parties, so as soon as I read her website, I knew this was the bakery for me. I was so happy she agreed to provide the desserts on such short notice. I rarely eat sugar or wheat products, so when I do, I want it to be worth it. Her cakes & cupcakes are waaaay worth it! Not too sweet and out of this world creative ingredients & recipes. He said he called and was able to easily describe what he wanted done as she hadn't read the Twilight books but had an idea of what Twilight was. My Twilight cake was delicious! Jasmine Rae Bakery is absolutely amazing! We feel so lucky to have worked with Jasmine and her crew. Our baby shower was this past Saturday and the cake was by far one of the highlights of the party. Not only was the cake BEAUTIFUL, it was extremely delicious. The cake was a stack of 4 children books (my husband and I's favorites) with a baby and puppy (exactly modeled after our puppy) on top taking a nap together. The cake was so life like that one of our guests thought the cake was real books and tried to open the top book! The detailing was so exact that even the font of the titles matched the font of the real books! Also, we loved our shower invitation, and Jasmine was able to incorporate the logo in such a tasteful way. So not only was the cake amazing, but the whole process of working with Jasmine and her staff was impressive. They made everything so very easy. They were professional, yet caring. Another thing is that for the amazing art that is created and how delicious the cakes are, the prices are very very reasonable. Our only critique we have our Jasmine is that we think she should charge more for her work!
