We set out to find a custom cake for my 4 year old daughter's Sleeping Beauty birthday party and Pastel did not disappoint. She was the most reasonably priced pastry chef in the area and came up with an absolutely enchanting cake and cupcakes. We got so many inquires about the cake from the parents and the kids could not help but to scoop up their favorite cupcake design as soon as my daughter blew out the candles. Not only were these cupcakes and cake beautiful to look at, but they were also delicious. I'm writing this review in hopes that she forever stays in business so I can keep coming back.

We ordered a Construction Trucks theme birthday cake for my son's 2nd Birthday. It was a 2-tiered cake for people size 30-35 guests. The process to order was simple. I texted her my requirement - theme idea, size, flavor. She sent different designs based on the theme. They can combine designs and make the characters more/less realistic or cute depending on your ask. We picked a design we liked and asked to modify a few things around. We chose 2 flavors for the cake: one layer - strawberry, and other layer - cookies & cream. We opted for the cake to be delivered on location. The cake was absolutely stunning. The colors were so vibrant. Kids we thrilled and adults equally appreciated the beautiful cake. The baker is an absolute artist!! Also the flavor was spot on. Especially the strawberry flavor was delicious. The price was ~ $400 for 35 people servings. Delivery charge was additional based on your location. Thank you!! You made our celebration perfect for my little one.

We loved our experience with Karolina for our son's first birthday and our resulting Tarzan-themed cake. I specifically requested lots of foliage, baby Tarzan characters, and my son's name and she went above and beyond. Everyone not only loved our cake design, they thought the actual cake was so delicious! It truly was an incredible cake. Karolina herself is very kind, communicative, and helpful. My FIL came to pick up the cake early morning as she was leaving for a trip that day (with the level of detail on the cake, one would never believe she was about to travel!) and she was so great about the whole experience. Prices are hefty, but you get what you pay for and I think it was totally worth it! read more

Highly highly recommend. We ordered a cake and smash cake for my baby's first birthday party and they were such a hit! We went back and forth on the design for a couple of weeks and I was a bit worried about the end product. But the cakes were so beautiful, I almost didn't want anyone to eat them! I had requested "Happy Birthday Brian" on the cake. It was written nicely on a plaque but I wish it had been written directly on the cake itself and a little bigger. The cake came in a clear plastic container. It was a bit flimsy and not very sturdy. Just something to note if you're traveling a longer distance with the cake. The 8" size was perfect for our group of about 10-12 people. The cake itself was delicious. It was light, airy, and not overly sweet! I could taste the earl grey; it wasn't too subtle or overpowering. The frosting was also very yummy and not super sweet. Everyone really enjoyed the cake. The shop offers a lot of enticing cake flavors, so I would definitely come back to try a different flavor next time!

Via the website chat feature, Adhiti helped me make my choices and place my order. Payment and pickup at her micro bakery in the Sunset District were easy to coordinate. I wanted a sheet cake with an ocean theme and chose the shrikhand flavor. Adhiti created a completely custom ocean-inspired design with frosting waves and shells, and saffron sugar for sand. She even made little signs. It was completely unique! I worried whether the flavors -- cardamom, saffron, and nutmeg -- might be a bit unusual for the children, but everyone loved it. I also got the strawberry rose and haldi doodh cupcakes. DELICIOUS. The haldi doodh was my personal favorite of the three items -- delicious and beautiful, striking just the right balance of sweet, savory, salty, dense, fluffy, crispy, smooth. SO good! Most recently, I ordered 2 sheet cakes from Badam Babe to serve about 100 guests at my Dad's 80th birthday party. I ordered one Masala Chai cake and one Haldi-Doodh (tumeric cardamom) cake, and they were a hit! Our party guests were amazed by the unique flavors and multiple people asked for Adhiti's contact info. My favorite was the Masala Chai cake! Previously, I ordered a Shrikand cake from Adhiti to bring to a holiday potluck, and it was incredible - both incredibly flavorful and stunning! My first order from Adhiti was last fall, when I ordered her Rangoli cookies for a Diwali party I hosted - the cookies were truly remarkable. I am so glad to have discovered Badam Babe and can't recommend her highly enough!

Given the design I requested, the motorcycle cake would not be enough to feed the 18 guests so she also made a separate simple cake to feed everyone. She personally delivered the cake (free of charge) to the restaurant and put it on display. Everyone was sooo impressed by the cake and the attention to detail. I would love to work with Yana again and will for sure refer her to anyone!!!
