Came here for a birthday dinner. Food was great overall and service was amazing. They also kindly gave us free cheesecake for the birthday celebration! Truffle fries: A- Bouillabaisse: B Sticky toffee pudding: A Cheesecake: B+ Standout for me was the sticky toffee pudding. Also tried some of their short rib and that is what I would order for myself next time.

My husband and I had such a great dinner here recently that we had to bring our daughter back for her birthday. Once again, the food was so delicious and the service was great. We're just visiting, but if I lived here I would go to this restaurant on a regular basis and try everything on the menu. Eat here!!!!

So i wanted to try this place as they had a prefix meal for $25. Its Monday thru Friday from 4:30-5:30 only. You get a salad, entrée, and Gelato. That's a great deal anywhere in the city. I had their Caesar Salad and my husband got their Mista Salad. Both were yummy. For dinner i penne with chicken which was delicious and just the right portion. My husband had grilled salmon. He really enjoyed it. Then for dessert we had dark chocolate Gelato and sea salt caramel Gelato. Both were incredible. This place was yummy and the service was great as well. Its in a quiet area too. I look forward to coming back again.

Really nice spot, good food and great happy hour All tasty food, good salad and pastas. Well cooked and generous portion on seafood in the pasta. Great gelato texture but didn't love the sea salt caramel personally Nice vibe and decor, surprisingly good neighborhood joint

The front door is very heavy to open, but they are open! There's both indoor and outdoor seating (the latter which we used because we brought a dog), and some of the outdoor seating is in a shelter with walls which was good for fighting against the wind. The tables are far enough apart that you can easily have conversation. They immediately gave our dog a water bowl, which we appreciated. All the staff were so friendly and kind! We definitely felt taken care of despite being outside. We got the Burrata and the Bistro Salad to share, and I got the Chicken Marsala as my entree. I also got an Aperol Spritz. For dessert, we got the Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding, and, as a surprise, they gave me a piece of cheesecake with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate! So delightful and caring. Burrata: 4/5, very generous portion of burrata and delightful combination with pistachios! There was a lot of jam and not a lot of bread, but it was all good. Bistro Salad: 3/5, thankful they accommodated my request to have walnuts on the side! Nothing super exceptional but not bad. Aperol Spritz: 3/5, very standard drink though maybe a bit diluted to err on the side of caution concerning the bitter flavor of the Aperol. Chicken Marsala: 5/5, tender chicken with a generous amount of mushrooms! The mashed potatoes were great in texture and buttery in flavor, and the asparagus was nicely cooked. Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding: 4/5, a great warm flavor and the vanilla ice cream was a good creamy balance. The tart berries also helped cut through the sweetness. Birthday Cheesecake: 5/5, very kind of them to give! It was also creamy and delicious, and loved the berries. Overall, wonderful service and a great time. I definitely want to try their Early Bird special, it looks great!

3.5/5 Came here for date night and took advantage of the early bird special. The three course meal for $25 is a great deal and well worth it. We started with the Caesar salad and the Bistro salad. Both were really good, and I am not usually a salad person, but the touch of honey in the Bistro salad was the standout. It had a nice sweetness and was very enjoyable. For mains, we ordered the chicken marsala and the black pepper fettuccine. The fettuccine was just okay and not my favorite, but the chicken marsala was very tasty. The sauce was flavorful and something I would order again. We finished with gelato. It was fairly typical, but a nice way to end the meal. The atmosphere is mostly dark and pretty, which works well for a date night, but the super bright TVs at the bar playing sports felt out of place. It was a bit of a weird vibe to have an elegant setting mixed with a sports bar feel. The biggest downside was the service, which felt rushed and lacked attention. We sat down before 5:30, but since it was close to the cutoff for the early bird special, the waiter asked us multiple times what time it was to confirm. That interaction threw me off. After already saying we were ordering the special and still being within the time limit, it felt unnecessary and awkward. Overall, the food was solid and the early bird deal offers great value. I would come back, but only for the special.

I normally don't like or crave crab cakes but the crab cakes appetizer here is absolutely delicious! Sometimes I don't even care for the entrees because all I wanted was the crab cakes haha! The truffle ravioli pasta is amazing and I've come back for this dish twice in a month. My boyfriend's dad is a picky cook who criticizes food heavily and we're always on the hunt to find a place he'll enjoy and have even he liked the food here! The service is subpar unfortunately. We have arrived with reservations and made to wait over half an hour. Once we arrived with reservations and we were asked if we wanted to wait outside??? or at the bar and they seemed really inconvenienced that we would choose to wait at the bar on a cold winter SF evening. On another occasion, they forgot to give us menus for over 25 minutes after seating us then came to ask us for our orders despite seeing we had no menus. We did try getting any waiters attention to ask for menus during that time span and could not get anyone's attention. The lightning is beautifully designed, romantically dim and it glitters across the ceiling. Perfect to bring a date here. However don't let the service sway you from coming here to enjoy the tasty food! I still would come here again because the food is that good.

Since my original post I've been back to this restaurant for my birthday, regular Sunday dinner, and other friend's birthdays. I'm constantly recommending this restaurant to friends and colleagues. The servers are amazing and they make room for all sorts of requests. On my birthday last year my sister did a whole red table set up with candles and flowers. It was an addition to the already beautiful space provided. This restaurant is comfortable, familiar, aesthetically pleasing, affordable, and tasty. It's laden with children's laughter, happy birthday songs, anniversary dates, first dates, and simple evening dinners. It's a place deserving of multiple returns. ** They also increased the size of the seafood pasta lol!

Came for the early bird dinner deal before 5:30PM and I would highly recommend!! $25 for a salad, entree, and scoop of gelato. The portions were generous and the servers were very attentive. The restaurant started filling up pretty quickly after 5:30 PM too so the early bird deal was the perfect time to go. I had a the Bistro Salad to start and it was perfectly dressed - not too much or too little dressing! For my entree, the Chicken Marsala. It came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, arugula, and the perfectly cooked chicken smothered in mushroom sauce. No notes! I had the Blackberry Sorbet for dessert and it was nice and tart. My friend had the salted caramel which was decadent and creamy. Can't go wrong with any of the choices. I'll be back for the steak dinner deal as well!!

It's Sunday evening and it's packed!

A friend recommended this location for dinner. There were 6 of us and we came in for the $25 for 3 courses before 530pm. The food selections were part of their regular meal. Each dish was delicious, flavorful and huge. You had your choice of salad, entrees and gelato. Cocktails and sides were an additional cost. The ambiance is beautiful and the service was excellent. Definitely another visit to this establishment!

    Mushroom Omelette

Hmm, I think I should've read the reviews a little closer....and that would have probably hinted that brunch isn't exactly Bistro Central Parc's specialty. Having said that, we still enjoyed what we ordered, staff was friendly, and we were able to sit and enjoy Sunday brunch without any pressure so 3 stars on food and +1 on service. We ordered the truffle mushroom ravioli, the mushroom omelette, the shrimp omelette, and the blueberry pancakes as a family. Everything kind of had its pros and cons. The texture of the ravioli was excellent and you could definitely pick up the truffle essence. What I wasn't a huge fan of were the olives and roughly chopped chilis that physically elevated them on the plate. The olives looked really similar to the mushrooms but obviously were much saltier and didn't quite go with the creamy Calabrian chili sauce which was also a tad bit too salty in my opinion. 5 ravioli were a good portion size though. For the omelettes, I liked the thinness of the omelette but it seemed a little stingy overall in the ratio of egg to ingredients where there really wasn't enough egg. Eating seemed to be a bit of a struggle and not very cohesive. On the plus side, my mom was impressed at the use of medium shrimps in her shrimp omelette but felt like it was mostly bell peppers thereafter. Dad liked the combo of goat cheese and basil in the mushroom variant. My brother got the blueberry pancakes which were really fluffy. It featured a good amount of whole fresh berries, a generous scoop of sweet cream whipped cream, and a lot of berries whipped into the batter (it was positively purple). I think this was probably the best dish this time. All in all, we generally enjoyed the meal enough to peek at the dinner menu and that got us excited! The ribeye special looked appealing. And that $25 dinner special? Worth it, just on paper alone. Probably won't come back for brunch but certainly intrigued by dinner.

The inside of the restaurant is charming, with plentiful bar seating to watch as dishes are prepared in front of you in an open kitchen. The menu itself is constantly evolving and may be different with every visit. That being said, the main menu is a prix fixe 4-course meal with the option to add on 2-3 additional dishes to share. The meal starts with a amuse-bouche, generally a cold soup. For us it was a chilled golden beet soup, which tasted a bit like a nice, creamy sweet corn. One of the add-ons was the pâté de campagne, a blend of pork and fatty liver. Paired with a dijon mustard and fresh sourdough bread, it was surprisingly elevated for such a simple dish. Next were a pair of fish dishes that were the highlights of the meal, including sierra mackerel with fennel and peach, and monkfish and smoked butter. The monkfish was a particular standout as it was coated with a dill sauce, and complimented with the sweetness of diced rhubarb and earthiness of hazelnuts. The monkfish featured a smoky and lightly spiced flavor. The dish was extremely well-balanced and paired sweet, savory, sour, spicy, and smoky to a tee. Really excellent. The octopus and yukon potato was an add-on - the octopus was extremely tender, not rubbery at all, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft like a mashed potato on the inside. The meal ended with a hanger steak which was solid, but compared to the other dishes, less extravagant. The dessert featured a rose sorbet, with milk foam and strawberries. As a whole, Mijoté dishes are simple, layered and extremely satisfying to eat. While presentationally may not blow you away, the taste will leave you feeling satisfied. The blend of French and Japanese culinary tradition and cuisine, Mijoté is comforting, elevated, and balanced. Very rare to find fine-dining that tastes so great while also feeling homey at the same time. If in SF, absolutely worth a visit.

The portions for some of the entrees are huge so be mindful not to over order! We tried the mussels which were delicious and the sauce it came with was great with the fries from the hamburger. I found the burger to be way more luxurious than what you'd normally expect. Again be prepared some things can be quite large. we also tried the soup of the day which was this lovely tomato basil soup and the pork chop which was perfectly cooked with another great sauce that i kept on dipping the fries in. One last note is the atmosphere it definitely feels like a nice cozy cafe that makes you wanna stay and chat with ur neighbors. Had a blast and i'm looking forward to trying their other entrees someday!

From the moment you walk through the doors, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between high-end luxury and genuine warmth. The Service The service here isn't just attentive; it's intuitive. A standout moment of the evening was the seamless coordination of the staff--they actually slid the table out for me to ensure I was seated comfortably, a rare touch of old-school class that you just don't see often enough anymore. Every need was anticipated before I even had to ask. The Menu & Wine The decor & ambiance is very romantic, low lights. Nice art on the walls. The flexibility of the menu is a major draw. Having the option of a 4 or 5-course meal allows you to tailor the experience to your appetite, and every dish was a literal work of art. To pair with the meal, their wine selection is world-class; the sommelier offered impeccable recommendations that elevated the entire evening. The Finishing Touches What truly sets Gary Danko apart, however, are the "extras." We ended the meal with a beautiful complimentary treat from the chef, which was a delightful surprise. To top it all off, we were sent home with their signature pineapple breakfast treat. Enjoying that the next morning was the perfect reminder of a flawless night. Verdict: An absolute must-visit for foodies and anyone celebrating a special occasion. Five stars doesn't feel like enough! Small gripe: only 1 rest room. Unika B. & Co. Mindset Maven

Since I was…read moreplanning a 50th birthday and really wanted the private room for our group of seven, I actually set an alarm for midnight to snag a Saturday night spot right when it dropped. For the private room, you have to choose between a 5:30pm or 8:45pm seating. Even though I've been hearing about this place for decades, this was surprisingly my first time actually eating here, and it did not disappoint. For parking, they don't offer valet so the easiest options are to take an Uber or park a block down at the Ghiradelli Square garage. We showed up 15 minutes early and were escorted to the private dining room in the back, up a few steps. As noted on the reservation site, there is no wheelchair access to the private dining room. The room had a great vibe. Much quieter than the main dining room and dimly lit but not so dark that you couldn't see anything. Even though the large oval table seats ten, it was perfect for our group of seven; we had plenty of space to stretch out. They kicked things off with a massive wine list and cocktail menu. I thought about bringing a bottle of wine but corkage was $100/bottle. Our party stuck to cocktails, and I started with the "Breakfast of Champions." It's a twist on an Old Fashioned made with cereal milk-washed Maker's Mark, which was interesting and actually pretty good, but for the second round, I just went back to a classic Old Fashioned, my go-to drink. Their menu is available as a 3-course ($130), 4-course ($165), or 5-course ($185). The menu lets you pick from appetizers, seafood, meat and game, a cheese selection, which they curate, and dessert. The cool thing about Gary Danko is that you don't have to follow a set order. You can customize the whole meal however you want. If you really wanted to, you could even just pick main courses! We all went with the 5-course meal. Why not? I chose 2 appetizers and 3 main entrees: 1) Crab salad - although it appeared "small", it was beautifully plated with a fresh spring salad, grapefruit and orange wedges, and 4 pieces of dungeness crab leg pieces on top of an avocado quinoa "cake". It was the perfect dish to start with. 2) The lobster and rock shrimp risotto was the star of the show! While I expected a small appetizer portion, the dish was surprisingly generous. It was packed with seafood and was the best risotto I've ever had! 3) Next up was the roast lobster, and it definitely did not disappoint! The plating of the tail and claw was stunning (see my picture), and the sauce was next-level. I actually had to use some bread to soak up the leftover sauce, yes, it was that good. 4) Keeping with the seafood theme, I went for the seared scallops with fregola, cumin carrots, and arugula pesto. The scallops were perfectly seared, and the whole dish was so flavorful that I had to grab another piece of bread just to get every last bit of the sauce. By now I was stuffed and had no idea how I was going to fit the 5th course coming up! 5) To be honest, by the time the beef filet with potato gratin and bone marrow béarnaise arrived, I was already so full I could barely enjoy it. The steak was incredibly tender and came conveniently pre-sliced into four pieces, which made it easier to pick at, even though I was stuffed. The timing of the meal was perfect, with about 25 minutes between courses so we never felt rushed. The service was also top-tier and the staff moved in sync to present everyone's plates at the same time, kept our water glasses full, and cleared everything quickly. Plus, they kept the table stocked with fresh bread between every course. I wish I went easy on the bread and butter. The several slices I ate definitely put me over the top! Since we were celebrating a 50th birthday, they brought out a slice of chocolate cake with a candle. It arrived right alongside the chocolate soufflé one of my friends had ordered as a course, so we all just dug in and shared. That soufflé was incredible. They also included two plates of petit fours to share. Because there wasn't a booking after us, they let us hang out as long as we liked, and we finally headed out around 9 PM. It was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've had. If you have a group of 6 or more, I highly recommend booking the private room, it makes the whole night feel so much more intimate.
