My friend introduced me to this spot in Bernal Heights and it wasn't too crowded on a Friday evening. The inside is dim with mood lighting, and there a lot of Italian classics on the menu. We got the spicy caesar (which had a nice anchovy kick) and the spaghetti with grandma meatballs. The meatballs were definitely the best thing on the menu -- had a lot of flavor and the pine nuts added nice flavor/texture. The spaghetti was good but nothing crazy (my expectations were maybe too high given the name). Would classify this place as more of a cozy eats spot than super trendy, but it was refreshing given all the gazillion trendy Instagram hyped spots in the city. If I'm in the area would come back again for a meal!

This is such a fun place for a Friday night! The food is solid, the drinks are inventive, the staff are so friendly, and there's a photo booth! We got the cauliflower arancini, spaghetti & meatballs, eggplant parmesan to eat. The eggplant parm came with spicy vodka pasta, though the pasta wasn't very spicy. For drinks, we got the house slushy, the ratatouille negroni, and the spaghetti negroni. They were out of chicken parm by our 9pm reservation so the waiter gave us a surprise shot of prickly pear brandy. All the drinks were so so good! The spaghetti negroni using a basil infused alcohol that was really lovely. And of course, we love a photo booth to remember girls night by.

Emmy's Spaghetti Shack was...amazing. Like my friends and I were either relishing our food in complete silence or talking about how impressed we were at each dish. The Monday night $60 meal deal was, in fact, a steal. recs: spaghetti and meatballs, cadillac lasagna, buffalo wings, strawberry panna cotta (ok basically everything) price: ~$30/person - Buffalo Wings: The first buffalo wings I've had that were grilled instead of sauced up. The sauce on the side was deliciously creamy and paired really well with the dry spice on the wing. Absolutely delicious! - Caesar Salad: Each lettuce leaf was well-dressed with grated parmesan, breadcrumbs, and dressing. Super easy to share, and every bite was delicious. - Garlic Bread: Cheesy, straightforward garlic bread served with marinara sauce. If you're able to hold onto some of the bread, it is amazing with the lasagna vodka sauce. - Grandma's Meatballs: My friend prides himself in his meatball recipe and really loved these. They hold their shape and have a great texture -- definitely a recipe that's been perfected after over two decades. - Emmy's Spaghetti and Meatballs: We all loved this one. The flavor is very well-balanced, and the sauce sticks to the noodles so perfectly that there's hardly anything left on the plate to clean up. We were impressed that this pasta dish didn't leave us feeling super heavy afterwards. And also, more meatballs to enjoy if you ran out of the appetizers. - Cadillac Lasagna: A dish I don't think I can order anywhere else -- this is an al-dente (!) lasagna bathed in vodka sauce, pesto, and ricotta. The texture of the lasagna pairs so well with the soft creaminess of the ricotta and the vodka sauce. My personal favorite of the night! - Strawberry Panna Cotta: Unsure if this was on the menu, but it was a part of the Monday meal deal. This was one of the best panna cottas I've ever had and beats anything I've ever made. Sweet, but not too sweet, and never boring, even on your fifth bite. The restaurant was vibey, the place was packed, and servers were friendly. We loved this so much that we immediately booked another reservation lol. So yes, we'll definitely be back!

Went to Emmy's for their Monday $60 deal and thought it would be a great addition to weekday deals! For $60 (cash only fyi) you'll get two appetizers, one main, dessert & bottle of wine! Basically the dessert and wine are free :) Vibes were very charming with lots of decor, reddish lighting & cozy atmosphere. Wait was as expected as host stated near an hour without reservation but it lowkey felt like we were waiting for parties without reservations because their name was on the waitlist and they were waiting for those parties to arrive. Got seated at the bar which I don't mind but I felt like there was little to no interaction from the staff. It was up to the point that we just wanted to pay and leave because the lack of service prolonged our visit. Because the kitchen steps away from the bar, we can see orders piling up and it questionably took us 20minutes to receive our spaghetti. They usually offer complementary bread but I guess they ran out for the night :/ Onto the food!! Emmys spaghetti: 4/5, portion size was okay and meatballs definitely tasted fresh in house but there wasn't really much of a wow factor with the spaghetti itself, sauce was delicious to carry it overall. Spicey caesar salad 100/5: this was actually the star of the show... it tasted like an authentic Caesar salad wowwww. Side of meatballs: not a bad as a side as they use a different tomato base sauce, wish there was bread to soak up the saucy goodness. Overall, probably won't be back for a while but it's a deal worth scratching off the bucket list.

Although Emmy's has been around 25 years, we visited for the first time on a recent rainy Friday night. We didn't realize they accept reservations and were put on a waitlist. We had some drinks a few doors down at the Cuckoo Club and were finally seated 45 minutes later. We were seated at the bar/counter, which was a little strange because the bartender was making drinks directly in front of us and was not very friendly. The restaurant is dark with a red glow in the bar, with Xmas string lights throughout. My husband had the "Nona" spaghetti and meatballs ($25) and thought they were pretty good, and I had the tasty 5 layer Cadillac lasagna which was a little al dente. It included Pork + Beef Ragu, Beschamel, Pecorino, Vodka Sauce, Dollop of Ricotta and Sunflower Seed Pesto Drizzle ($26), served in a pasta bowl. We also split a spicy Caesar salad salad ($14) which was quite good and a bottle of red wine ($50), which decent tasting. If we go again, we will definitely make a reservation and perhaps bring a group as it's very fun atmosphere. In the back they have a private small room that is just beyond where two pinball machines are. The wait staff was friendly, but it's more for young hipsters than 60 year olds like ourselves. Parking can be difficult.

Ordered via delivery. Tasty spaghetti with meatballs and the Bolo Bianci is good too. Sometimes you just want some tasty carbs with lots of sauce. Funky retro vibes, tasty food and convenient. Located on Mission and Valencia.

Emmy's is the most adorable spot in the mission! Came here for dinner for my friends birthday and loved the vibe off the bat. Super colorful inside with lots of fun art and the photobooth in the back is definitely a highlight! We took around 10 photos and managed to shove four of us in with no issues. Food was amazing, we got garlic bread with cheese and sauce and a spicy cesar to start - both to die for I would come back just for a drink and a cesar! Main courses we got to share were the lasagna, chicken parm and the fettuccini alfredo with shrimp! It was all so so good but the general consensus of the group was 1. fettucini alfredo, 2. lasagna and 3. the chicken parm! Will be back for more and maybe pick up an emmys shirt as well!

Returned recently after a good 2 plus years. The vibe is great for local folks who want a casual punk date night. its loud, colorful yet dark and the service is straight to the point withs lil hip edge. The food is more like a 3.5/5 honestly overpriced a bit but everything is now. I thought 16$ foe garlic bread was steep! Overall gave 4 stars bc its still a classic, big plate, grunge spot that I love.

We came for the Monday meal special and it may be one of the best deals in town! $60 for a bottle of wine, 2 appetizers, an entree and dessert! Everything was very tasty and the service was fast even though they were really busy. We didn't have a reso so had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, not bad at all. The inside is so unique and has an old school vibe to it. Unfortunately none of the photos came out very well due to the lighting. We will absolutely be coming back again!

OH MY GOODNESS. I've been wanting to try this place for years and I'm so happy I finally got to go. My friend and I made a reservation for the Monday special for $60 for two appetizers, and entree, dessert and bottle of wine. What a deal! Our server was so friendly and hilarious, we could tell he really enjoyed his job. I loved the red lighting, the fun decor, and overall ambiance of this place. We ordered the meatballs, the spicy ceasar, the arancini and the chicken parm. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! Definitely a new favorite restaurant! I also had to buy the wine glasses because my friends and I are always I'm glad they sold them!

We had a reservation here on a Friday night and were quick to get seated. I've had Emmy's on my list forever, so I was excited to finally try. Our server was really friendly and we ended up ordering the chicken parm, rigatoni bolo bianco, cauliflower arancini, and the garlic bread. We also tried the boozy frozen coffee. The chicken parm was pretty standard, no complaints. I'm not sure if it was just my spice tolerance, but I felt like there was a tad bit of heat in the sauce, which was unexpected. I did feel like the rigatoni could have been more seasoned and it came out warm, not hot, so it turned cold really quickly. My favorite was the cauliflower arancini. It was really cheesy and still crispy at the same time. The garlic bread was simple, but good as well. And to note, the frozen coffee was pretty strong. Overall a good meal if you're in the area! Not sure if I'd go out of my way though next time, since there's so many other good spots as well.

They have a great $60 setup on Mondays, cash only. We got the spicy cesar salad, shrimp toast, eggplant Parmesan and the white wine. The pane-cotta for desert. Everything was delicious and amazing, and we even had leftovers. The ambiance is super cute and I love all the decor and lights. I would definitely make a reservation before coming on Monday.

Half the kids menu is rules and warnings to kick you out
    Mattia E.

They have to hate children. Yelp says they are family and children friendly but their menu has a whole set of rules for kids and says they will kick you out. I just don't get how a "restaurant" that basically only sells spaghetti can be weird towards children. They should really just list themselves as a bar because that's what they are going for. The food is bland and basic (perfect for a child's palate) and the staff is subpar. No one was rude to my kids but you could tell they weren't thrilled to have tiny patrons. The kids were well behaved and they liked all the lights but I don't think we'll be back. Maybe try Original Joes if you have kids with you. Updating my review to one star because the owner wants to be an arse. Yes, this is offensive. If you hate kids just say that and don't allow them.

This place had no one inside but we decided to check it out anyways. It's nice and new, bathrooms were clean. The drinks were OK but not worth the price IMO. DJ was probably the best part. There's also a Photo Booth area that is free. Cool touch. Why 3 stars? Well, I had an unfortunate event happen before closing that I was very upset about. I voiced my experience on here and the business owner, David came back super aggressive. It was unprofessional IMO. I would never talk to a customer that way. I'm unsure of what law we were breaking but we were told to finish our drinks by 2am and our drink was thrown out at 155 but who knows, I could be wrong but David doesn't want to go that route, publicly or privately. In his response back to my review, he questioned why we didn't privately reach out, but there is no option to reach out to this particular business on their page. So I just left a review. We went back and forth for a bit and I got tired of it, so I decided to take it privately. I surfed the internet to try and find an email. (There's no way to reach out directly on Yelp nor is their website on their yelp page). I successfully found an address by finding them on instagram and searching the name in their followed, asked to be adults and meet up about the situation. I admitted my review came across a bit exaggerated and was open to chat about it. No response. I saw his comments were deleted (seemingly by yelp) and only after uploading a screenshot of his reply (so mine didn't have 1 sided context), did he replied again to my review saying that I can post all I want and that he won't meet up. There could've been more but I can't remember it all before it all was gone.. if I was yelp, I would've deleted it all as well. I've posted what I have from the back and forth and will let future customers decide if they'd like to support. I wish I had my original posting but I repeated most in this new review. I understand there will be opinions and people who don't agree and that's totally fine with me but to David, even if I wanted to originally deal with this privately, there is no way to contact you via yelp. At least from my side. I went the extra step to find you, your email and try to settle, but it seems like you've said your peace. I have nothing left for you. **** Everything is now here, I stand by it all. I even fixed my rating to make it as honest as possible in lieu of my admitting the 1 star exaggeration.

Love what + how they do it. It's a neighborhood bar that…read morejust feels right. Food wise I'm drawn to a few favorites like the stellar pork belly banh mi slider, fries and the chicken bites. It's a thoughtful menu w something for everyone. Had a Paper Plane which the bar man furiously shook to an icy froth on the top. Soooo good. Went on St Pat Saturday and was looking for a non frat crew vibe and was really pleased I remembered BH was close by.

Cool bar with bites in the Mission District. We got there shortly after it opened at 4pm on Friday…read moreafternoon. I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

If you love plants you'll adore Arcana in San Francisco because it's a beautiful sanctuary of…read moreplants and cool vibes. Located in the legendary Mission District of San Francisco, this wine bar is a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy small bites and yummy crafted cocktails. Their decor is very chic and I especially loved all of the hardware, glasses, tables, and benches. This place was styled by a great design artist. Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants. I ordered a yummy Rose blend that was super crisp. Also enjoyed the Truffle Fungi! A delicious Shiitake and oyster mushrooms with parmesan and arugula on toasted bread. Their Spanish inspired potatoes were delicious with their dipping sauce. They have lots of gatherings there and DJ sets on the weekends. Lastly, a photographer would die to take pictures here. There is no bad shot as the design artist made sure every section of this cute wine bar was picture perfect. Loved all my photos and videos. I look forward to returning to this exquisite wine bar!

I love the decor of this space! It is definitely intentionally and tastefully decorated. Loved the lighting and plants. They had Lord of the Rings playing on the wall. The vibe is artsy, warm, a little dark, and overall a cool place to mingle. The bathrooms and tables were kept clean. I liked it that the DJ was live mixing. Getting a drink was fast and easy. The high top tables were a bit wobbly, so we spilled half a drink on there. The drinks are strong. I recommend going upstairs to sit instead if you want to hear your friends better. The tables are bigger up there too. The rooftop was closed off but I'd like to check it out sometime.
