You must make a reservation for this spot regardless of standing/stool space! They have a great happy hour for drinks and small bites. The wings and plantains were super good. The guacamole was decent, but all was worth during happy hour. Super fun outdoor rooftop space in the Mission!

This is mainly a drink review ; I love getting a mezcal drink when I go out and it's never done me wrong. However the Que bola was not what I was expecting. It was a bit to sweet for my liking and the foam at the top doesn't really pair well with it. A bit of an odd drink I should have asked for a recommendation but I know better for next time. The Paloma was really good and fresh great to have after dinner. As this was our first time here we weren't sure about service it took a while for a server to come attend to us but definitely understandable as it's a busy Friday night. It was pretty touch and go service. Just got our drink order and moved on.

I decided to check out Cubita for happy hour, which occupies the spacious rooftop where El Techo used to be. The process is pretty straightforward, you just check in with the host downstairs before taking the elevator up. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were seated in the bar area, which worked out perfectly fine for us. If you're looking for an actual table in the "inside" section of the roof, I'd definitely suggest booking ahead of time. It was a bit chilly being up high, but they have plenty of heating lamps to keep things comfortable while you take in the view. We made it just in time for their happy hour menu, which runs until 6:30 PM, and we really enjoyed the apps and drinks we ordered. The service was impressively quick and friendly throughout our visit, making it a great spot for a casual evening out.

I've lived in SF long enough (and dined out enough as a Yelp Elite) to know when a place in the Mission has staying power. Cubita genuinely surprised me in the best way. The space is colorful and lively without feeling chaotic. It's festive, but you can still hear your friends across the table. We ordered family style and got to try a lot of yummy food! The guacamole was delish. Platano Maduro was my favorite it's fried ripe plantains with burrata cheese. Other notables was the Ceviche Caribeno, awesome sandwiches the CUBANO, the CHORIPAN. Also got the RES beef skewer with rice and salad was tasty. Cocktails were solid too. We all shared pitchers of paloma and margaritas. Ended with the majarete their corn pudding. All in all, food is comforting and full of flavor. Service felt warm and genuine -- attentive without hovering. There was a DJ right next to us. We all got up and danced after dinner. All in all, Cubita feels like a welcome, flavorful addition to the neighborhood. I'll be back, and next time I'm ordering extra plantains. Had an amazing time! 5 stars!

We had dinner reservations for three at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. Parking can be tough in the Mission, so we arrived a little early to account for that. We were seated by the ledge of their beautiful rooftop dining area, right next to a much-needed heater! We started with a mojito pitcher to kick off the night before diving into our bites. I loved the small-plate style, which allowed us to try a little bit of everything. The ceviche and empanadas were standouts for me. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and paired perfectly with their homemade plantain chips. The empanadas were delicious and generously stuffed with shredded beef -- I'd definitely come back for both. Beyond the amazing food, we really loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the space. We ended up sipping, eating, and chatting for hours -- losing track of time and enjoying every second. It was the perfect spot to fuel up and get our Saturday night started!

Since the beloved "El Techo" rebranded as "Cubita" I've returned a few times. The ownership is still the same and from what one of the owners (or somebody in management) said, they decided to pivot to Cuban cuisine to give something fresh to the SF community. At first, I was really bummed that I would no longer be able to have El Techo's iconic chicharrones but Cubita has successfully been able to deliver a delicious spin on cuban inspired cocktails and bites. I have been able to try a few of their drinks which have all been excellent. I've paired them with bites such as their ceviche and alitas de pollo (chicken wings) which have pleasantly surprised me. The wings are a 10/10 for me - tangy, grilled and with a kick. I've also had their Cubano sandwiches which are delicious! It reminds me of the ones of I've had in Little Havana. I think Cubita is worth trying. I'll be honest, I was skeptical of the complete overhaul here when it was first announced but the attention to detail when it comes to their menu and the ambiance has not changed. I recommend coming here before heading to Alamo!

My go-to spot on a warm day. With only a few rooftop bars / restaurants in the city, this is the place to be when the weather is nice. I often go for the happy hour (open - 6) served only in the bar area. I've only had the items on the happy hour menu (guacamole, yucca fries, chicken wings, and cubano sandwich), but based on that, you can't go wrong with any of the food choices here. The guacamole is a good size, chicken wings are flavorful, and the cubano is a tasty treat.

LOWKEY one of the bestt places i have been to. place was so nice, great view, dream location. i got the ceviche: 10/10. super lemony and sweet the cuban sandwich was so tasty as well, i recommend sharing because you'll be so full it makes the orange county pos in me want to come back back to SF

Super pleasant service. Solid drinks and cocktails. Nice atmosphere both indoor and outdoor. Open late and very lively. Highly recommend sharing.

Seriously loved this place! The ceviche is a must-try--incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. My table also really enjoyed their sandwiches. The service was excellent; the gentleman at the front was super friendly and welcoming. We sat on the outdoor patio, which had a fantastic, comfortable night vibe and wasn't too loud. Highly recommend!

Discovered this place through SF Restaurant Week, and I'm very happy that I did! The space is charming and inviting, with lots of happy chattering. There are heaters on so it didn't feel too chilly in the SF night. We ordered off of the SF Restaurant Week set menu and ordered oysters separately for apps. I loved most of the items that we ordered, but I do wish the lechon was softer. I also really loved the flan for dessert. Above all, the service here is fantastic. Our server was very attentive and welcoming. My partner and I made a reservation and noted that it was our anniversary. The server was super sweet and wished us Happy Anniversary, and they even gave us some free treats on the house! I would definitely come back here for another date night.

Great rooftop hangout spot in Mission District. If you are looking for a place to get brunch buzzed and then dance it off, this is the spot! We came when they were having salsa Sunday and damn did we get blessed. The layout is very bright and festive, with a lot of tributes to the namesake. The staff were friendly and helpful, and very quick on their follow up despite a busy rush of people. The live DJ and music set really topped it off, while still being quiet enough that you could hear those at your table. The food and drinks were delicious all around; the drinks were mostly rum derived (and a LOT of it) and the food menu was chock full of Cuban favorites. We ordered the ceviche and the Cubano, with a side of yucca fries. All were cooked to perfection. My only notes were more mustard on the sandwich please.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service.
