We arrived for their Wednesday deal-icious combo with the included bottle of wine ---- We ordered the mussels, pasta tortufo, Ikes pizza (the hot version), tiramisu, with their pre-selected red wine, and added the pink onion salad. EVERYTHING tasted phenomenal. Each worker appeared very focused on their task at hand, and the person who took our order was very accommodating to our requests. The vibe is understandably busy with music I was attempting to Shazam for most of our meal. Definitely will be waiting, it's a small place and was quite busy for a Monday night. I imagine the lines would get quite long on Wednesday for the free wine bottle with the combo. We got the mussels for the appetizer, pasta tartufo, soprasetta pizza and tiramisu for dessert. Mussels were very meaty with a nice white wine sauce. Pasta was good, creamy but very overpowered by truffle flavor. Pizza was excellent with a great crust and dough, and the soprasetta and fresh mozzarella were excellent. Tiramisu desert was about average. Not a super strong coffee or chocolate flavor either way. Food was overall good but service was a bit of a let down. A great way to start. Rigatoni Vodka: The undeniable star of the table. Nearly everyone around us had it, and one look at the photos online and I knew I had to order it -- no regrets. Super creamy with a subtle kick of spice that sneaks up on you in the best way. The portion was enormous. Get this! Rigatoni Amatriciana: Perfectly salted thanks to the guanciale, with a satisfying texture and pasta cooked to perfection. A more classic, comforting option that delivered on every level. Gotham Pizza: My personal favorite of the two pizzas. It's essentially a elevated pepperoni pizza, and the hot honey drizzle takes it somewhere unexpected and delicious. Simple but memorable. Magic Mushroom Pizza: Loaded with prosciutto and incredibly flavorful. This one was clearly popular -- we kept seeing it come out of the kitchen for tables around us, and for good reason. First time at pink onion and it did not disappoint. All for the dished were great except the steamed mussels. While the flavor of the mussel broth was very unique we were thrown back by how many pieces of mussels that were not cleaned properly. A lot of them still had the beard attached making them hard to eat. We came on a Monday and they weren't crazy busy so we felt comfortable and not rushed with our meal. Pink Onion puts a refreshing spin on classic pasta dishes. I tried the pesto pasta and I really enjoyed the nutty taste from the pistachio - super unique to me. The mussel pasta looked like it would be creamy but it was a refreshing citrus sauce. The mussels were also fresh; nothing like the frozen mussels I usually find in my seafood pastas. This place is such a vibe!!!! Very small restaurant and intimate table settings - can get pretty loud and it was admittedly pretty hard to hear each other but over the noise. But I liked how it gave off a very neighborhood comfy cozy feel. Gabe is the best! So attentive and gave us great suggestions from the menu. We really enjoyed the parma and burrata app and the nayalita pizza was SO good. Truffle pasta was delicious but very rich. Really nice thickness and chewiness of the crust. The complementary bread was also surprisingly delicious! It had a great chew. Can't go wrong with either the tiramisu or cheesecake. Both were great, just depends on what you're feeling. Cute small restaurant, we came at 4:30 on a Saturday and we got seated right away before the dinner rush. I recommend coming a little earlier to beat the crowds and to not wait in line as it is a small restaurant with not too many seating. They gave complimentary bread and for drinks we tired the rose, italian white, and the mango cider. All three drinks were great! We got the pink fire alarm pizza which was good, it was like a pepperoni pizza elevated with red onions and it was good! For the combo price at Pink Onion, this place is so worth it to come to. At $60, you can get a small pizza, pasta, appetizer or salad, and a dessert. It might not seem like a lot of food, but I've come here twice and it can comfortably feed 3 people! Last time, we were so full that we even took the dessert to go. If you also come on Wednesday, you get a free bottle of wine with the combo. When you come in, they give you some complimentary bread to eat with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. SO GOOD! We came on a weeknight and somehow got in with a table for two. Great service! Love the art wall. Such a fun atmosphere. Had a glass of the house pinot Noir and it was delicious. We got the barutta appetizer whiched seemed to be more of a salad. It was amazing with fresh and dried fruit, arugula and prosciutto. Still craving it. We also got a Cesar salad, it was really good. Then we shared the pasta Bolognese. Definitely enough to share. It's a thinner sauce that I'm used to but full of flavor. Wish they had a side door for the grub hub pickup's though. Anyways, I ordered the Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce and the Side Meatballs. I loved how the pasta noodles still had a chew to it and also liked how the sauce tasted kinda cheesy. They added A LOT of sauce for the pasta, which I was ok with because I can use the remaining sauce for other meals. The side meatballs are also really good and each meatball is huge and was in a bunch of sauce too! I'd recommend this place! We came for Pink Onion's Wednesday Deal and honestly, for $60 you really can't beat it. The deal includes an appetizer, pizza, pasta, a whole bottle of wine, and dessert...such a crazy good value. We made reservations two weeks in advance and were one of the first groups seated (there were only two other tables when we arrived). Even then, the service was a little on the slower side, but nothing terrible just something to be aware of. The food itself was really solid for the price. The meatballs were tender, the seafood spaghetti came loaded with mussels, and the pepperoni pizza had that perfect crispy-edged cup pepperoni situation going on. The wine included in the deal is from a small, pre-selected list, so don't expect options from their full menu, but it still paired well with everything. The tiramisu at the end was a nice touch too. Overall, we had a good experience and loved trying out this special definitely worth doing at least once, but probably not a weekly thing. As of 2/22/26 The place is a bit tiny so make sure you make reservations! The staff is SUPER friendly and depending on your music taste, this place is very fun. They don't play your normal restaurant music, last night it was VERY colorful songs from 50 Cent type genre. I personally love that music. One quick note, if you're hard of seeing, you might want to bring your phone to the bathroom. Sounds weird I know, BUT there is only a speaker with a colored light in the bathroom so it's not the brightest in there. At least you get to listen to great music . Again, the staff is very hospitable and gets you anything you need. We waited about 10-15min from the time of our reservation to get seated but that is only because we were waiting for a couple to finish with the table. Like I said, seating IS limited so make reso's. Now...on to the food. We were originally just going to get a pasta and pizza, but decided to be a little more healthy and get a salad. So, first was our salad- Pear endive salad $13: really good and big portion. I didn't expect the salad to be so big. We did forget to ask for the dressing on the side so that's our bad. It was a LOT of dressing, but no biggie..still tasted great and we had a little left to take to go. Would definitely eat again. Next course was our pasta- Rigatoni Vodka $16: this is definitely one of our favorite dishes and we try to order it when we see it just to see the difference between places. We like that it's spicy pasta. The pasta didn't look like rigatoni, but it seems like the rigatoni curled and looks more like shells, which doesn't really matter to us, just thought we'd mention it. But the flavor was really good and even better when you have a sprig of basil with each bite. Would definitely get again. It was almost like the one at Carbone in NYC, just minus the sausage. Drinks- Pliny the Younger $9: Of COURSE we had to order the Pliny the Younger, it's only out certain times of the year and it's hard to find on tap for sure...it's like a pot of gold when you find it. This all depends on your taste though. We love IPAs so this is right up our alley. We don't normally drink beer but this one, if we see it..always have to get. I ended up getting 2! At 10.5%abv...it's definitely a sipper...no chugging this one. Last but not least was our pizza- The Guido (Large) $31: A very simple made pizza with a fresh handful of arugula on top. After the pictures I spread the arugula more evenly across the pizza of course and we went to town. As I said earlier, we didn't expect the salad to be so big, so after most of the salad, half of the pasta, and beer, there wasn't much room left for the pizza so we each had 2 slices and took the rest to go. We were goofballs and thought this place did it by the slice. But regardless, we came here maybe an hour before closing and ordered 2 pizzas to go. We ordered the Bruce Bochy and the Tyson Punchout. I enjoyed the Tyson a lot and think hot honey on top really added to it. The Bruce Bochy was a bit lacking in flavor I felt, but it was still good. I had actually been ordering Pink Onion on DoorDash for over a year before finally stepping foot inside. Now it's become my weekly solo dinner spot. Walking in the first time completely shook me. You'd never expect a place that's absolutely packed every hour they're open--with music pumping like there's a resident DJ--to be quietly serving what might be the best pizza in the Bay Area. The food is mind-blowing, but what really makes this place special is the people. Over the last month I've been on a mission with Nate and Gabe, eating and drinking our way through the menu. These guys don't just work there--they create the entire vibe. The recommendations are always on point, the energy is high, and they somehow make a packed restaurant feel like you're hanging out with friends. Every time I walk in they treat me like family visiting Italy for the meal of a lifetime. Great pizza gets you in the door, but the vibe and the people are what keep you coming back. I absolutely love this small local gem in the city! I mean, how can you go wrong with super creamy pasta and delicious pizza along with the best tiramisu?! The best part of this place is they have a special deal on Wednesdays where you get to pick one pasta, a pizza, a salad or appetizer, dessert, and drum roll for the best item...... a bottle of wine - all for only $60! That's like the sweetest deal ever! Most importantly, aside from that good deal everything we ordered is delicious and amazing! My favorite items is the truffle pasta and the combo meat pizza. The Caesar salad is also a hit. The customer service is very friendly and they make you feel very welcomed! They'll happily give you advice on what to order if you have any questions. The place is small and you definitely might have to wait in the line so I would recommend making a reservation, but it's a very cozy restaurant so be ready to make friends! read more

I cannot believe I've left this review in draft for so long. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants ever! Obviously come for wine down Wednesday and get the free bottle of wine with the combo. It's so much food and really good high quality food. Everything is so good. You won't be disappointed. The service is fast and everyone is polite. The Wednesday $60 meal deal is always the best, but you do need to book MONTHS in advance. The service is always very fast. Our server for this visit was very attentive. The restaurant itself is very small, but if you have a party of 3 or 4 the seating is more than enough. (Be careful swinging open the bathroom door - You can accidentally hit other customers). The food is so delicious. With the deal, you can get 1 small pizza, 1 pasta, 1 appetizer/salad, 1 dessert and 1 whole bottle of wine for $60. We ordered the burrata caprese, pasta tartufo, truffle pasta, magic mushroom pizza and basque cheesecake. The salad was a good start. Nothing over the top, but was delicious. The pasta was creamy and had real slices of truffle. Also very normal, but still delicious. The pizza has the best dough - It is so light and fluffy. This was the favorite for me. The dessert was good - Not much to say. It was just a cheesecake. Though, everything, besides the pizza which excelled, tasted normal delicious (if that's a thing), this deal is just something you cannot beat in SF. I love this place! The bundle they have is such a great value and perfect for date nights. I've had the opportunity to come in the restaurant and also order through Uber Eats and both times they were great. The wait in person is a long one, so prepare yourself for that, BUT it is so worth it. The Caesar salad, margarita pizza, their rigatoni vodka, and their tiramisu is AMAZING.
