Hayes Valley has no shortage of pizza places but Doppio Zero has a solid happy hour to boot. Available Mon-Thurs from 4:30 - 6:00pm at the bar or the outdoor seats. Discounts on all beer, wines, and cocktails. The true appeal of happy hour is the wide array of small plates and personal pies. Solid choices like Neapolitan meatballs, fried calamari and shrimp, prosciutto platters, beet salad, and diavola pizza. Can get busy during happy hour especially with pre-theater crowd so I prefer the small plates vs. the pizza can get a little soggy when crowded but still overall solid. Friendly service. Worth considering for weekday happy hour catch up when it's nice out.

We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. The most memorable was the squid ink pasta. The seafood flavor was good. Pasta cooked till al dente. The branzino was good too but we all prefer squid ink pasta. I would skip desserts. Both the tiramisu and the hazelnut tarfuto were not great.

We tried the bread basket and it came with fresh basil sauce that went great with it. The pizzas were delicious and came with a side chili oil that went great with it. Chill ambiance for sure with a nice small bar area. The truffle mushroom pizza is MUST. I thought the prices were fair, however it does include 3.9% health fee plus 18% tip minimum.

This spot is pricey but it is worth it! My friend and I shared the jalapeno pizza and one of the pesto pizzas. This pizza was perfect, the crust was chewy and soft, the sauces and toppings went together perfectly. Both pizzas had some hot peppers which gave them an amazing kick. Would definitely come back!

Having lived in Hayes Valley for a few years, I heard that Doppio Zero was "pretty good" but had never had the chance to try it till recently. On our recently trip to Doppio Zero, we booked via OpenTable and was able to get seated when we arrived. We ordered a pizza and some small bites as well as a couple cocktails. The pizza was up to par, and the fried calamari we got was not bad as well. What really fell short was the service. After receiving our food, we never got a follow up from the waiter to check on us, as I was hoping to get some chili flakes for the pizza. When he came back from whatever he was doing, we had already finished the entire pizza. To sum it up, Doppio Zero's kitchen does well, but front of house could use some help

We planned to have dinner in Hayes because we were going to SFJAZZ later that evening. We had walked by this restaurant a few years ago when we lived in Hayes, but never had a chance to try it, so we finally decided to give it a shot. We ordered two drinks, the Espresso Fizz and the Mama Mia. The Espresso Fizz was made with vodka, coffee liquor, Frangelico, espresso, and a toasted marshmallow. It tasted really good, well-balanced with a rich and aromatic coffee flavor. The Mama Mia came with gin, raspberry syrup, strawberry puree, canton, cointerau, Licor 43, and egg white. This drink tasted fruity and refreshing. We started with the Calamari and Shrimp, which came with fried calamari and shrimp with a side of tomato sauce. They were fried to perfect crispiness while still tender inside, and the shrimps were jumbo-sized and sweet. We also got a Margherita pizza, which was made with tomato, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and basil. It was simple, classic, and delicious. The only thing we were disappointed with was the service. Our server never came to check on us throughout the meal and only returned after we had finished eating. We wanted to ask for red chili pepper and cheese, but we couldn't find him while we were eating, so we just gave up. I hope the service can be more attentive in the future. Other than this, everything was great.

It started off great with appetizers we both enjoyed. But both the pizza and pasta were a let down. The spaghetti de pepe was dry like really bad. I told the server & he gave the note to the kitchen but was a lil defensive. We are realizing that almost not place can do this specific pasta correctly. Not enough pepper or sauce & pasta should be a bit alenté. The pizza we ordered was listed under red sauce but had none, it was pesto but not on the whole pizza. The ricotta we wanted on top added was not the moist, whipped kind that ...it was dry & crumbles but I think we just got confused on what ricotta salada is. either way our pizza was soggy but had good flavor in the toppings and crust was decent just all soggy in the middle. service was really good.., he was attentive, nice and very accommodating! Ambiance was busy, loud pretty packed at first but then calmed down. Love the big pizza oven but otherwise no special decor or vibe. I think its more like a neighborhood staple/ go to.

Very solid Italian spot right in the heart of Hayes Valley. A group of friends and I came for dinner on a Thursday night, and we were seated immediately. It was still pretty busy, and the restaurant was pretty packed but service remained prompt throughout. I ordered the marechiaro pasta which is a squid ink pasta tossed in a spicy red sauce. It had quite the kick which I really enjoyed. Good portion size, al dente noodle texture. For the table, we got the margherita pizza, and it was solid. Very thin pizza, not too saucy, just the right amount of flavor. It was exactly how I enjoy my pizzas. I'd definitely come again if I'm craving Italian food. It's a different vibe from a Mano which is close by, but I'd choose Doppio Zero. Less of a wait time, better food, and quicker service.

We originally called to make a reservation for 7 but they didn't have us down when we got there. However, they were very quick to get a table ready for us regardless which I appreciated. The ambiance was nice, enough space for all of us, given we were a larger group. The food was more of a 3.5/5. I would highly recommend ordering pastas over the pizzas here. Think a lot of other restaurants in this city have better pizza like Tony's and Flour + Water. I enjoyed the Gnocchi and would get it again. Not sure I can say the same for the rest of the dishes.

Thank you blue shirt guy for pointing out the best table in the house. Had a great time meeting up and chatting with friend. Ordered crispy calamari/shrimp. The mushroom pizza had spice. Should have read menu more carefully but loved the combination of ricotta cheese and fresh mushrooms. Pizza is soft side. My ink squid pasta was a tad salty but loved the al dente pasta. Fresh scallops and clams. Cute young waiter with perfect smile. Good dentist!

This restaurant carries a history of Michelin recognition (2019-2021), which naturally sets a certain expectation. The Burrata & Prosciutto and grilled octopus were well executed, and the Cacio e pepe pasta truly stood out, perfectly al dente and full of flavor. The rotisserie chicken was nicely roasted and satisfying. The kitchen clearly understands technique and balance. The ambiance is warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed yet refined meal. Service was pleasant, though at times a bit slow, particularly in the outdoor seating area. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience with beautifully executed pasta. I would gladly return.

We were looking for a restaurant to watch the World Series at before our dinner reservation nearby. This place is actually perfect for spots if you can snag at spot at the bar. We started with a few dirty martinis and migrated over to espresso martinis. The funghi pizza with some pepperoni was a perfect tie me over until we went to our dinner reservation. The location of Doppio is excellent for a fun date night out or with your girlfriends, lots of restaurants and bars. We didn't get the full dinner experience, but the service was friendly at the bar so we'll definitely be back!

The standing area next to the bar was also a cute spot to wait while our table was getting ready. Food-wise, we tried the crudo tasting while the other crudos were fine, they didn't stand out nearly as much as the scallop. The corn and mushroom pasta was very tasty, especially the sauce. We also tried the pesto pasta, which also had excellent texture, but the sauce tasted a bit more charred than I would have liked. Overall, I thought the atmosphere and dining experience were stronger than any individual dish. The communal seating and lively dining area gave the restaurant a great energy.
