One of my top places I have been to in San Francisco! This place is amazing and I love all the dishes for the tasting menu. Even though the tasting menu is on the pricier side, I like how there were two dishes that weren't on the main menu that we got from the chef for the tasting menu and it was delicious!!! The tuna tartare and oysters were my favorite but the pasta dishes were outstanding too. I definitely recommend this Italian spot and I will go back to get the focaccia too!

Really yummy vodka pasta, also got a chilled red wine. Wish I had also ordered the focaccia since it looked really good and the portions were a bit small. The vodka pasta was surprisingly less spicy than the cacio pasta I tried from another person in our group. It also had a good crunch to it. The only negatives were the wait time for our group to be seated (I believe we had a 7:25 reservation and got seating closer to 8). We had a big group, but the waiters never came to check up on us which was a bummer since I would have ordered more food and left a bit hungry.

Corn and woodear pasta. Tasted like a corn bisque, tasty!

10/10 loved! The food was fabulous and flavors were unique and well done-- not just "good" food, but memorable. My favorites were: the chef's choice crudo, specially the tuna and hamachi(?). The tuna was rich and smokey in a great milky and fragrant fennel sauce. The hamachi in the root veggie wrap with a slight kick, awesome! And the scallop was good too! My boyfriend liked that one, but I thought the chip on top was over powering. My other favorite, the lamb pasta! Loved that texture. Flavor wise, savory and spicy. It was cold out and really warmed me up. Loved the experience. Our waitress was also awesome and patience. She let me try a few of the wine before settling down on a full body red that went very well with my pasta. Oh and the affogato, yum!! Exactly what we were looking for. Milky, almost sticky gelato, with a great bitter espresso

This place was exceptionally delicious. Perfect date night spot with moody ambiance that travels throughout the restaurant. Most of the staff were kind and accommodating women who routinely refilled your water. Even the bar seating wasn't too bad nor crowded! Definitely make a reservation! Now I'm personally not too concerned with pastas, I always think it's better to make it at home and not my first choice to seek it when eating out. But the pasta here is so flavorful, just perfect down to the texture and portion size. To start, we got the Hokkaido scallops with preserved lemon and sea beans. Refreshing and satisfies. For the pastas, we ordered the Cencioni with five mushroom sugo. A mix of cremini, shiitake, oyster, and porcini mushrooms with a deep, umami-rich flavor that's paired so well with crisps, a perfect pasta!! We also ordered the Paccheri alla vodka with tomato, cream, and nduja. Silky and a bit spicy, super delicious. I would most definitely come here again, this is probably my favorite Italian spot so far, ever. It's that good. I'm not even a pasta fanatic nor go out of my way to get Italian, but this place exceeded all my expectations.

Came here with a friend for an early dinner around 6:30pm. We didn't have a reservation but the luckily they were still able to seat us as the evening rush hadn't started yet. The ambiance was moody and can definitely see this as a romantic date spot. The service was great, we felt taken care of. We came from a full day of eating so we decided to get two appetizers and shared a pasta entree. They're quite known for their seafood so we started with the Hokkaido scallops and the bluefin tuna. Both were fresh and the flavors blended really well. For the pasta dish, we ordered the mafaldine cacio e uova. It was rich in flavor and the textures were perfect with al dente pasta and the creamy sauce. We had a really great experience.

My friend and I made a reservation a couple days prior for a 6 pm dinner on a Wednesday night. The interior was very calming and aesthetic from the soft lighting and wood fixtures. The staff explained to us the menu from the chef tasting to their recommendations for the a la carte side. Hokkaido Scallops, Preserved Lemon, Sea Beans - We opted for this crudo as we wanted something light and refreshing before our pasta dishes. The scallops were thin but very fresh. The combination of ingredients had a sourness that came through and a variety of textures from the scallop to the crunch on top. Calamarata, Squid, Jimmy Nardello Pepper, Caper, Pomodoro - The pasta had a good texture and I liked the tomato sauce that was slightly sweet and slightly spicy. The squid was cooked well and it all came together well balanced. It was a very enjoyable experience from the ambiance to the fresh fusion dishes and I would definitely recommend coming for an elevated meal.

Came here for vday dinner, got their focaccia and 3 pastas. Was so full and satisfied. Truly my fave Italian in the city for their pasta! Pastas: Great flavor and textures. Mafaldine is my go to but the vodka was perfection esp with stracciatella that we got on the side with our bread. The mushroom one was like a dream pasta, exactly my taste and I loved the crispy topping. If you take anything from this review, it's get the focaccia bread!! Even just the olive oil with the focaccia was so good. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong here. Great quality!

Had a reservation for 5:30pm yesterday (Saturday) for a group of 4. We got seated at one the tables close to the entrance. It was a little cold with the doors opening and closing, so we asked if we could move to a table in the back area. The staff was very nice and accommodating and moved us. The restaurant is dimly lit and nicely decorated. It has a casually elevated ambiance, perfect for date nights or even just dinner with friends. We opted to order several dishes to share. After each course, they would replace our plates and utensils with new ones. For starters, we ordered the Hokkaido scallops and broccoli caesar. The scallops were refreshing. The broccoli caesar was delicious. It came with crispy focaccia, which paired really well with the perfectly cooked broccoli. There was a generous amount of cheese, which I loved. For pasta, we ordered the spaghetti, cencioni, and mafaldine. All of them were super flavorful, creamy, and yummy. Each dish was different with its own unique flavor profile. The spaghetti with the dungeness crab had a nice and strong seafood flavor. The cencioni with the mushrooms was seasoned well and delicious. The mafaldine was simpler but equally creamy and seasoned. I could definitely taste the black pepper in the mafaldine. Last but not least, dessert. We ordered a tiramisu, which is off the menu. When we asked one of the staff members about it, they said there is a limited amount of tiramisu made each day and fortunately, we were able to get 1 of the last 2 that day. We also ordered the chocolate budino. Both desserts were great. I loved how both of them were not overly sweet and even though I was pretty full, I was still able to enjoy the desserts without feeling sick. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner here!

second time coming here and it was just as delicious. everything here has so much depth in the flavors and the ambience is such a sweet romantic scene! highly recommend to go all in for the pastas - doesn't seem u can go wrong. the tuna crudo is really delicious but bite-sized portion won't fill u, highly recommend if u want to try an elevated take on sashimi but don't recommend if ur going for something more filling

Heard it's a must try in the city so came to check it out! Interior was gorgeous - the dimmed lighting really gave it an upscale feel. Really loved the plates too that matched the modern vibe. Servers were very busy but we got everything that we needed and they were very nice. As for the food: Tuna crudo - 5 pieces of fresh tuna packed with a deep savory flavor. Really really delicious! Broccoli Caesar - Very unique take on a classic salad. Focaccia croutons were fun to break and very crispy. Sauce was interesting, didn't really taste like a caesar. Was very much like a creamy balsamic. Broccoli was really delicious and perfectly cooked. Only note would be that the sauce was too salty. I like salty but it was a little overpowering. Cacio e Pepe - Pretty good. Noodles were a tad overcooked. It's just the pasta and the sauce so felt kinda plain. Flavor only had two tones - pepper and egg, was also too salty. Egg was very present though. Duck Sugo - This was definitely the better pasta dish. Pasta was perfectly al dente and chewy. Plenty of duck that just melts in your mouth. Sauce was also not too salty but had a unique savory flavor to it. Loved that there was some crunchiness in the dish too, which made everything more complete. Budino - Not pictured but was surprisingly good! Not too sweet and very fun textures. The pudding portion felt very light and paired perfectly with the crumble and salt cream. Great way to end the night. Overall, definitely worth a try and would love to come back to try their other pastas!

We came here and got the tasting menu and it was excellent. The price ($109) is a good deal for the number of courses, the quality of the ingredients, and the skill with which the dishes are prepared. Everything was extremely tasty. Their crude dishes were great: essentially this comes down to the freshness of the scallops, salmon, and tuna. All were very fresh, flavorful, and had a great texture. The sauces with which they were served were balanced and complemented each dish (without drowning out the flavor of the crisp). The pastas were really well executed. My personal favorites were the duck carbonara and some kind of flat round pasta that I didn't catch the name of but had a deep umami and creaminess in the sauce that complemented the perfectly Al dente chewiness of the pasta. The desserts are also great! I had some kind of pot de crème, and it was delicious. Even though the mains and appetizers were very good, they're not sleeping on dessert! I definitely want to come back as I saw some pastas (like a campinelle) that I would love to try!

Decor is a little dark and moody, very romantic. I went here with a friend to celebrate her late bday dinner. We did the tasting menu. $105 per person and comes with 5 appetizers, 3 pasta courses, and dessert. We also started with an amuse bouche from the chef. The appetizers are all cold and raw fish/seafood. I liked all of them, but I think my favorite was halibut or amberjack. I forget which one. Normally I love scallops, but they put a little too much citrus on it for me to love. After seeing the appetizers, I was worried I wouldn't be full by the end of the meal. However, after eating the first pasta course which was a mushroom one, I started to get extremely full. My friend and I both could only take a couple bites of the other 2 pasta courses to save room, and we took those 2 courses to go. The pasta with anchovy was the least flavorful in my opinion, but it was ok. The mushroom had the most flavor. The duck carbonara was super rich and good, but since it was served last, we couldn't fully enjoy it in the restaurant. I did enjoy it the next day though! Chocolate budino for dessert was yummy. They also gave my friend a free ice cream for her birthday. The pacing of the food was great. Service was friendly and water glass was never empty. I would come back to try more pastas. I recommend the tasting menu for a first visit and then just ordering what you liked most for a second visit. Parking can be tough in this hood, we just took a car. Neighborhood nearby can be a little rowdy, they are right around the corner from El Farolito and the BART station.

Nice moody but lively vibe, a good date night spot! Friendly service as well. Unfortunately food did not quite hit the mark, had a stellar experience when they had first opened but quality has since declined. - got the crudo trio and it was not as fresh - fish texture was off. Scallops were good but the amberjack and halibut were a bit fishy - the pastas were good but nothing amazing for the price point - my favorite was actually the spaghetti with anchovy as it packed the most flavor. - the grilled strip loin from the large plate format was a little tough and could have used more creative flavors with the sauce

Unlike the typical flour-heavy gnocchi, these potato-based dumplings were incredibly light, tender, and practically melted in your mouth while pairing beautifully with the savory pesto. Amelia recommended one pasta dish per person in the party, to share family style (which ended up working well for us, since we also got three appetizers, and finished the meal with a small amount of yummy leftovers for tomorrow) so that's what we did, along with the starters... We got the "big juicy meatballs with tomato and pancetta," which were incredible; the bread was delicious and certainly is not just a side to the amazing (definitely juicy) herbed tender meatballs. I'd definitely get this again, along with the grilled zucchini with worm salt and mint, which was so flavorful and tasty. We also got the smokey romano beans with fire roasted tomato, which was also really good but just keep in mind the emphasis on the smokey flavor! It wasn't my cup of tea but that's for sure a personal thing. For pastas, I'd rank them in this order: 1. our favorite was today's lasagna du jour, which was mushroom! So delicious, with a crispy cheesy crust, soft tender interior, and an almost caramelized tomato sauce accompanying. 2. Reginette with pork sugo (meat sauce) and spicy turnip greens was next, which had wonderful flavor with the tomato-based sauce and pieces of pork but if you like it slightly softer texture it might not be for you (same with the fusilli; the go-to preparation is aldente!). 3. Fusilli alla vodka with tomato, calabrian chili, cream, basil, and added garlic butter shrimps; this one's sauce felt a little underwhelming and more watery than creamy, and I'm just now realizing that although the menu said four garlic butter shrimp (an extra $7), we only got three. I think I'd come back for the lasagna and/or to buy the pasta from their expansive stock, cook it a bit longer, and serve it covered in a decadent creamy sauce.

I also loved how the Pad Thai had chewy noodles while the roti reminded me of a popular and comforting cinnamon type of pastry because of the sweet flavor from the roti. I'd recommend this place because some items like pad Thai wasn't too spicy for me. Everything here is very flavorful, so it can be too spicy if you have a low spice tolerance like me, but it was still good.

One of the BEST Thai food I have ever had in SF!…read more We ordered the mango sticky rice (10/10), party wings (100/10)- so spicy & finger licking good, and thai pad (9/10) - very garlicky. I love the ambience and especially the cool disco lights in the restroom
