We were very excited to try one of the top pinsa place and it was also an occasion for a family member. Interior is warm and cozy. Parking is little tough. We requested to be seated in Balcony they immediately obliged. Good service from start to finish. I will give 5 stars if ut was just for service. Food we have a very high standard and with all the world top pizza place, our expectations were high. Squash blossoms were the first to come, it was little oily, either the dough was not right or the temperature of the oil when fried. Oil was the first taste you sense. Next Brussels sprouts , again oil was more evident and little burnt too. Arancini was ok, but tasted lot better ones. GNOCCHI was good, nothing exciting. Just a brief if you are not familiar with Pinsa. Pinsa is an oval-shaped Italian flatbread with a crispy exterior and a soft, airy interior, often served as a lighter alternative to pizza Big difference is the dough is made out of mixture of wheat, rice, and soy flours, which creates a lighter texture than regular wheat dough. It doesn't taste like pizza. This my first Pinsa experience, the bread is airy and crispy on outside and soft inside. I was not a fan of the taste of the bread. Mushroom Pinsa was my best tasting one, followed by pistachio which had ligh sweetness to it. Least favorite of everyone was the eggplant one. Good ambiance and service, food is ok.
Pinsa was delicious! Pinsa is a Roman style flatbread, it's very airy and crunchy. Happy hour is daily from 4:30pm - 5:30pm. Although the restaurant is small, there is a second floor section. Weekday dinner, able to get a table for 5 easily. The waitress suggested 2 appetizers and 3 Pinsa which was plenty to share. The Pinsa range from $18 - $24. Food came quickly. Truffle fries were delicious and great sharing portion. Bruschetta was a bit small, $12 for two pieces of bread. Order contains classic margarita, prosciutto, and truffle cheek. My favorite was the prosciutto with burrata, good balance of meat and veggie. Dessert is their style of beignets, but less sweet. Overall, a great place to dine in.
Finally got to try Pinsa Rossa and it did not disappoint! This was my first time trying Roman-style pinsa and I'm already planning my next visit. We started with the crispy brussels sprouts and little gem caesar - both great appetizers. Then we got in on the pinsas! We ordered the Heavenly Mushrooms, Prosciutto & Burrata, and Meat Lovers. The Prosciutto & Burrata was hands down my favorite -the burrata and balsamic drizzle are chef's kiss. The pinsa dough itself is a game changer - it's definitely lighter and airier than regular pizza crust, with a great crispy-yet-soft texture. The space is super quaint and cozy, perfect for a casual dinner or date night. Service was attentive and friendly the whole time. Highly recommend if you're in Pacific Heights. It a new go-to spot for me!

The bar has plenty of seats which is nice and there's plenty of options for pinsa's to choose from. My friend and I got one pinsa from the classic and one from the gourmet to share. We both liked the prosciutto & burrata more as it was a good mix that wasn't too healthy and not too light with meat and veggies. The spicy Soppressata wasn't spicy at all in our opinion until I added chili oil which they offer. I enjoyed this spot as there's a good variety of different pinsa's to choose from but also other items on the menu as well.
Disclaimer: I don't eat pizza too often. I think the pizza (well, technically Pinsa but this is really like a somewhat thick and fluffy pizza so I'll call it a pizza and compare it to pizzas) is not bad. Tried the Gorgonzola, Truffle Cheeks, La Mortazza, and Summer Crush. The flavors can be unique. I don't see fruit often as a topping, but I think they did it well here. The Gorgonzola is really funky, but the pear really balances the funk well but I wish there were more pears. Summer Crush is also pretty good. La Mortazza was my personal favorite. I'm not a crust enjoyer. I thought there was a bit too much crust on some pieces. This is a 4 star because while it was good, I thought it was just maybe a bit above average. The only other pizza I've been to is Tony's, and Pinsa Rossa is far better in my opinion. Though, the Chicago pizza (Lou Malnati's) I had was probably better than here.

We sat in the bar. Service was friendly and efficient. Their pinsas are generously sized with plenty of toppings. The crust is super crispy yet light and not too doughy on the inside. Fancy margherita: their tomato sauce is delicious, and the pesto was a great addition. I do wish there was some more basil however - I barely tasted any basil flavor. Prosciutto & burrata: this was amazing - towered with a bunch of toppings and thoughtfully arranged & pre cut so that each piece has same amount of toppings. The burrata was incredibly fresh and complemented well with the arugula, prosciutto, balsamic drizzle, and tomato. Highly recommend this one.
This Italian place is amazing. Their pizza is so crunchy, kind of like a flatbread, and the mushroom flavor shines through so well. They also nailed the classic margarita pizza. Enough food for two people plus leftovers for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is also so modern and spacious, but also the classic Italian homey feel. I saw they have happy hour, so I would love to come back for that.
Convenient to order on the app and pick up straight from the restaurant. Had the prosciutto and burrata pinsa. It was phenomenal with the fig jam and the balsamic glaze. Highly recommend! Both the pinsas themselves were super fresh with great quality ingredients!
My friend and I luckily made a reservation for this restaurant on a weekday evening. Service was friendly, and our order came out in a timely manner. Fries Al Tartufo: These were crispy, and I loved the black truffle salt and parmesan which made them fragrant and hard to stop eating. Broccolini: This was tender and had a nice garlicky depth from the confit, including breadcrumbs that added a bit of texture. Heavenly Mushrooms pizza: I loved the earthy, mushroom flavor on a generally lighter and airy crust. The pizza was served whole, and we were given a pizza cutter to split the pizza in any way we desired. Great spot with comforting dishes!
We came here without a reservation and we were able to get seated at the bar for 3! We ordered the bruschetta, brussel sprouts, crostini, and the lobster and crab ravioli. The apps were all really good, especially the brussel sprouts. The staff recommended the lobster and crab ravioli to us and we really enjoyed it! Creamy and fresh. They also have a decent amount on non-alcoholic alcohol. I ordered the na rose and it was almost like the real deal. We just popped in here not expecting too much, but we really enjoyed it and would definitely come back to try other dishes.
Great place to use the Amex dining credit through resy. We enjoyed the pizza more than the pizza sandwich/calzone. Friendly service and great menu
I am generally not ahead of trend but a couple weeks after eating at Pinsa Rossa when I saw they had th #1 Pinsa ranking in the states, I was feeling pretty good. They served my favorite Pinsa I have had and I was excited to see the well deserved accolades. We split the bread and burrata, prosciutto and burrata Pinsa, and I had a spritz. Everything was delicious and service was excellent. The Pinsa was particularly delicious. They organized the toppings in a way that all the pieces got a little of each. This sets them apart from many other places. I really appreciated the care that went into the making of our Pinsa! I can't wait to go back and grab a couple seats at the bar, enjoying some other great items. I want to try and get to the happy hour as well because the menu looks great.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon after seriously craving some pizza. We sat outside on their small front patio. It was nice for a sunny day and great people watching place. We got the beetroot salad, it was super fresh and bright, though the onion was a little strong for my taste. For pizza, we got the heavenly mushrooms. Tons of mushrooms and tasty sauce. The crust was crispy but not dry, ideal for dipping . Service was friendly and attentive too, our waters were constantly being refilled without us having to ask.
The best pinsa (aka Roman pizza) you'll have in SF. The crust is a bit crispy, the tomato sauce is fresh, and there's lots of cheese and toppings. I've been here at least 4 times, including when it first opened and was the only new restaurant around town. Still one of my favorites. I love the prosciutto burrata and pepperoni and sausage pinsas, also the burrata and bread starter. Can you tell I love burrata? The lobster ravioli, pesto gnocchi, brussels sprouts, and beet salad are also so good. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Will be back again soon! read more
Pinsa Rossa has been on my to try list forever, and I finally got an opportunity to give it a go! My boyfriend and I got the lasagna, the sausage and pepperoni pinsa, and truffle fries (sans parmesan). The pinsa was delightful- the crust was airy and had a nice crunch to it, the lasagna was filling and you could tell the pasta was fresh! The truffle fries were also crispy and yummy and disappeared so fast. This spot is a fantastic addition to SF's increasing number of authentic Italian (and Italian American!) restaurants. Definitely give this a try if you're in the Pac Heights area and want to try something new that has a twist on a familiar dish. read more
No wait for my party of 4 on a Saturday around 5:30pm. We sat outside and the vibes were nice and they had heaters. We shared the stuffed squash blossoms, fries al tartufo, fig salad, and 3 pinsas: pera e gorgonzola, prosciutto & burrata, and truffle cheeks. The apps were just ok, stuffed squash blossoms didn't have much flavor and mostly just tasted like fried cheese and oil, truffle fries were inconsistent with half of them being crunchy and overcooked, and fig salad was nothing that special. I also kept tasting a hint of a funky cheese in all of the apps we ordered which was odd because they weren't listed as ingredients under the dishes. My favorites from most to least for the pinsas: 1) truffle cheeks 2) prosciutto & burrata 3) pera e gorgonzola. Truffle cheeks was great but the other two were alright and felt like they needed more flavor. Overall can't say I'd necessarily recommend this restaurant but I do appreciate the ambiance, wonderful service, and the presentation of the dishes. read more

Food (3/5): All around pretty standard for Italian food. Everything was solid, but nothing really stood out to be honest. I also wish the portions were a little bigger for what you're paying, especially the Ravioli that I got (def get the side of bread if you wanna be filled up). Ambiance (5/5): This was my favorite part about the place. It's very vibey inside, intimate and cozy. I'd say it's a pretty good date night spot, and they have a nice upstairs portion for larger parties that feels a bit more private. Value (3/5): The prices are standard for SF, but again I just feel like for what you're paying the portions could be a bit larger. Overall: I'm not really sure I'd come back here unless for a date night and needing a nice ambiance. For just Italian food, there's definitely better out there in the city. read more

For the 3 of us we got 3 pinsas, brussel sprouts and the stuffed squash blossoms and were more than full. The pinsa crust is light and crunchy! I got the lobster and crab lasagna and the pinsa sandwich (?). They were both incredibly tasty and the ingredients felt fresh. However, the portions were quite small. This was not enough for two people. We also ordered the mushroom pinsa. After that we were FULL. Around $80 for three entrees and without drinks. The ambiance was bustling and lively. The tables were a bit small and crammed, but the whole restaurant was on the smaller end so that makes sense. read more
Pinsa Rossa is such a great neighborhood gem - especially during happy hour! I stopped in recently and was seriously impressed by both the food and the prices. The star of the show is, of course, their pinsa. It's light, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with super fresh ingredients. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Perfect for sharing... or not sharing at all. Happy hour here is a total steal. You get fantastic food and drinks at a great price of $8 each, in a charming, relaxed and welcoming space. Feels a little bit like Europe! It's such a nice spot to unwind after work or catch up with friends over a few pinsas and glasses of wine. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole vibe is casual but stylish. Definitely adding this to my go-to list for happy hour in SF! read more

I absolutely love me a weekend happy hour- especially one with a pretty full food and drink menu. They have daily happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Everything on the happy hour menu is nine dollars including house wines, starters, and an array of personal pizzas. From the happy hour alone, I had a glass of Prosecco, a Burrata and bread dish, and we tried three different types of their personal pizzas which were all a decent size. I hate how usually even artisanal pizza, there is a floppy center, and loved how well the entire pizza here holds up and is the perfect amount of crisp throughout. A generous portion as well for nine dollars. They also have some dessert items on the happy hour menu, which we didn't get to try. All three pizzas we had were really flavorful. We enjoyed the pepperoni and sausage pizza, the mushroom pizza, and the pesto and potato pizza. The only thing I ordered from the regular menu was the beet salad - personally I like that it was mainly beets with a small amount of arugula; sprinkled with goat cheese My husband appreciated that almost other beers were local beers on tap, though not included on the happy hour menu. Service was excellent - they were all very friendly and attentive. Fun vibes with both indoor and alfresco seating. read more

Hung out in the Fillmore during the Jazz festival and stopped by this quaint little Pizza spot. The vibes were giving NY sidewalk faire but with a flare of elegance. We sat down in the outdoor...sidewalk booth adjacent to the restaurant and immediately were taken aback by the white linen napkins, bottled ice water and formal attired wait staff who promptly took our order. We opted for a Margarita pizza and a meat combo. Both wee enough for two or more people so leftovers happened. The pizzas arrived fresh from the oven hot. The toppings were ample and arranged to make each bite a memorable experience. The sauce was perfectly seasoned with fresh tomato, herbs and garlic. The crust was the star attraction. Light, pillowy and a touch of char made me want to order a side of crust and sauce! I will definitely return to explore more menu offerings. read more

Walking from the Ferry Building to Pac Heights while pushing a 20lb dog in a stroller up those steep hills calls for a carbo-liscious meal. And I knew the pizzas at Pinsa Rosa would get the job done. We first started with the caprese, which had an award winning burrata. It was so refreshing! The tomatoes were juicy and sweet. The burrata was creamy, and the balsamic added a tangy finish. The broccolini was roasted perfectly, with its smoky notes complementing the lemony dressing and garlic confit. As for the pizza, we opted for the cacio e pepe tartufata, which is under their pinsa blanca menu. It had the flavors of a cacio e pepe pasta, with its pecorino cream and black pepper. And the black truffles added a rich umami flavor. Despite these strong flavors, they all balanced out with not one overpowering the other. It was delicious! And the pinsa dough was light and airy, with a golden brown crust that gave a satisfying bite. Pinsa Rossa is one of my favorite places to eat in Pac Heights. The food is delicious and service is always fantastic. Check out their happy menu options, which they offer every day. read more

Wanted to check out this place but had to wait 45 minutes, understandably so, as we didn't have a reservation. Needless to say it was worth the wait! Niti was fantastic with service; he went even presented us with red wine options instead of just blindly letting us pick one. We got two pinsas and fries; all tasted good. The dining area outside was well-heated so no one had a problem with the cold. Definitely open to coming back here! read more
Happy hour is every day from 4:30 to 5:30! I came with two girlfriends and we had an absolute blast! Everything is $9 and tasted amazing! Some of my standouts are the carbonara and pesto and potato pinsas, the Arancini, and the chicken Parmesan! This is such a good happy hour deal in SF and I would definitely recommend! read more
I stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. I sat at the nice bar area and ordered a margherita pinsa. The pinsa was delicious; I ended up eating the entire pizza. The service was excellent, the people working there were very nice and very attentive. The bar area and the interior are nicely designed, it creates for a nice meal. read more
This is a GREAT spot for a girls night, dinner with family in town, or date night. The food was super good, and the atmosphere is cozy. Felt like I was in Italy!! We opted to go family style with the group of gals I was with and it didn't disappoint! Loved being able to try everything. Really good happy hour 4:30-5:30! They have small pizzas and antipasti for $9 each. I really liked the peach bruschetta and the pinsas! The crust is very light and crispy while also being chewy on the inside. The flavors of the bruschetta with the peaches, burrata, & hot honey were perfect! The space inside is cute and service was great as well. The food came out super fast too. read more

We snuck in just before happy hour ended for a $9 glass of wine and discounted shareables! Flatbread pizzas were solid but nothing crazy - but the stuffed squash blossoms and lobster ravioli were unexpectedly delicious. Service was great and we got in without a wait around 7 pm on a weekday! Given that this spot is right on the busiest part of Fillmore, you have to get a little lucky with street parking :) read more

Happy hour 4:30-530 pm! Delicious personal size pizzas, small plates and house wines for a discounted price! So worth it, SO good! Exceptional service, friendly, attentive and accommodating even tho we were a larger group (7) with no reservations! Definitely recommend and would go again when in the area! read more
