Coffee and vibes were perfect! This was my first time going to a coffee shop that played music and man am I missing out! The presentation of the different types of coffee had me in awe. The line to get coffee on a Saturday around noon took about 15-25 mins but totally worth it. There is parking all around but you have to drive a block or two which is understandable in the City.
Trendy coffee shop with limited bench and outdoor seating, no wifi but excellent coffee! Their vanilla latte has a strong nutty vanilla flavor and you can tell they use real vanilla bean. Super expensive ($10 for a matcha latte) bc tip is apparently included but delicious on a company's dime (:
Delicious coffee and textbook latte and cappuccino. The space is well decorated and had an interesting vibe. I appreciated the seating outside as well. It is incredibly expensive and that probably contributes to the vibes of the coffee shop. It's a luxury treat occasionally.

Come here for the vibes, but no need to stay for the coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hedge is located inside a refurbished warehouse with a sleek and modern minimalist aesthetic. High ceilings, beautiful hardwood shelving and paneling, and a cool view of the roasting facility in the back. The entrance also has a stunning baby redwood as the centerpiece with a skylight over it. V instagrammable, I'd give design 8/10.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coffee though? 4/10. Bay Area coffee prices are more or less the same, but I'd say Hedge's starting prices are about $1-2 more than other spots like Coffee Movement (which consistently puts out quality pours and espresso starts at $4 IIRC). We ordered the Cifuentes Single Origin (Mexico) pour over, which was $10. The beans were definitely over-roasted. Color was deceptively pretty, but the cup lacked aroma. The profile and finish were also so flat and muddy. The only note we could pick out was "burnt". Usually, when I go to a new coffee spot, I either get the batch/house brew or espresso to get the most unfiltered (hah) version of both the quality of the roasted beans and the technique that went into brewing them. My husband was super curious about the pour overs though, so here we are, with an unsatisfying and expensive $10 cup.

They've been roasting beans for over 10 years and the shop has been open for less than a year. I tried the espresso with milk. Strong and robust. We picked up a bag of the beans for home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an amazing space for roasting the beans and I love exploring.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please come and create your own adventure.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is incredible - really chill, good music in the background, high ceilings & vinyl records - good vibes[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I ordered my Americano with a little bit of almond milk. Coffee was presented to me in a matching the vibe cup but the ratio of espresso and hot water was a little bit off; too strong like the cup was too small. The staff working there was not rude, but they were not friendly either. I can't really put my finger on it but it was as if they were kind of matching the vibe of the place. Very nonchalant. Wow this coffee shop is amazing! I am not much of a coffee drinker but even I really liked it! My coffee friend also loved her drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is so pretty![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Service: The baristas are quick to make drinks as they are ordered and friendly with customers especially with any menu questions. Drink: The mocha was a good flavor while being hot but not to the point of scalding. The mocha had a strong rich coffee flavor with notes of chocolate and the steamed milk helped balance the flavors. It was relatively expensive for the size of the coffee. There are also small pastries as well that can be ordered varying from both ham and cheese to vegetarian options as well.

Stopped by on a whim since I was in the area. There was a line out the door even at 3 pm on a Saturday! The line moved at a decent pace though. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable. Hedge has a purist coffee menu that doesn't have the frilly drinks you typically see in coffeeshop menus these days. Since it was late in the afternoon, I got a decaf espresso with almond milk. It came out quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is seating in the courtyard and around the perimeter of the interior but given the # of people, it felt like seating was really limited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most people took their drinks to-go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't feel like this is the type of coffee shop to hunker down and work on your laptop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had a DJ playing music and a fog machine in the back. Great coffee! Bold and strong espresso profile. Simple straight forward menu. Liked it enough to buy some beans for home. Visited on a Saturday. The line ebbs and flows. What a beautiful space!! An open air courtyard led into another high ceiling room with sleek wood accents and a live DJ (!!!). It was crowded on a warm SF day, but the line went by quickly. Dog friendly too! Espresso + milk ($8 for 10oz): Perfect, no notes. Smooth, strong, and loved the taste! Fun hidden gem in the Mission, felt like I was in LA. Prices are steep ($10 for a 10oz matcha...), but I guess you also pay for the experience? My friends and I sat in the cool shade (AC indoors too!) for nearly an hour chatting. Cool industrial/modern style space. Per the photos I thought this place would be bigger than it is. Not a ton of seating. Good coffee! We loved our vanilla lattes. Vanilla is the only flavor they have. Nice service. Would go back if in the area. They also have scheduled DJ events. read more
This coffee shop is so beautiful, def the first thing that stood out to me. I love the wood accents, the DJ booth (so sick), and that the coffee bar is set up in the middle. There's not a ton of seats but I found a standing table. There's coffee is def overpriced. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was $9-10 which is steep for sure. But honestly it was a good latte. I liked the coffee they use and didn't think the drink was too sweet. Personally for me, I'd come again for the vibe and aesthetic of the place, but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way simply bc of the price point. read more
I really like this place, it reminds me of a place in Tokyo. I think most things about this cafe are on point especially the esthetic. I would say the coffee and milk temp need a little bit of work. The milk was a little cold and the coffee was too young in my opinion. The apple tart was nice but it would be great if they could heat it. The sitting space with tables were nice and visually the cafe is just impressive. It seems as though a lot of money was poured into this place. Definitely come here if you are going to work on your laptop for the day. It's very new, clean and they have 2 bathrooms. The service was nice, not memorable but far from bad either. I think I would definitely comeback again. read more

Came by a Thursday at around 7:30AM. There was a short line and plenty of sitting available. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They have some indoor and semi-outdoor sitting which is nice. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a vanilla latte. Must say that I think the vanilla latte is amongst the top 3 I've tried in the city. Very creamy and the coffee itself was rich and not too acidic. The croissant was also great and paired paired perfectly with the coffee. Overall, will 100% be back to this spot! The ambiance, staff and coffee were all great. It did get busy by 8-8:15, so something to keep in mind. read more

I've seen Hedge all over my social media for a while and it was packed when I went! The aesthetic of the place is very unique with a modern woody feel, with a tree as part of the design! There is not a lot of seating inside but there are some benches outside, although they are very hard to get with how many people come to the cafe. The coffee itself was much more expensive than other places which shocked me a little bit. I will say the coffee is really good, very smooth and flavorful, but for the price I don't think this would be my go to place for frequent visits, more of a treat. They had some pastries but didn't try them this time, maybe next time. I think it's a nice one time visit for me with no plans to seek out coming again but not opposed to coming back. read more

I've been wanting to come by since this opened! It feels very Sightglass-esque, with high ceilings and minimal decor. The redwood tree was smaller than I imagined (they articles made it sound gigantic). The coffee was good. The baristas all dress the same. There is probably a giant line during the weekends but I was lucky to have come in the middle of the day on a weekday so I easily found a seat. read more
Before I drank coffee I used to be so jealous of places like this. It looked like some secret club. And on the weekends, it quite literally feels like that with djs playing live! But all the hype and mood is backed by very good beans. Both the Kenyan and Ethiopian pour overs I tried were so smooth and bright. The batch Bolivian was quite good too! The employee who took our order let me try the batch and when she realized that there wasn't much left gave me the rest! So kind. And even besides the music etc, the space is really nice. Feels lifted out of somewhere in Tokyo and/or Brooklyn. Definitely recommend drinking your coffee there if you can. read more

I'm not native to SF, nor am I incredibly familiar with its food scene, so I don't know what's a good price or not here lol. The coffee was good, and you can see it being made in front of you. The spiral was okay, but the group and I agree that it would've been better toasted or if there was a sort of jam in it (we suggest a caramelized onion jam). The inside is super nice, and they have a DJ playing some solid beats. It gets crowded pretty easily, and we came in to a line that went outside the building and wrapped towards the block. Wouldn't recommend if you need a quick coffee, but can be good if you want to chill with friends over coffee. read more
Hedge is great! Love that they used to do events and finally have a brick and mortar! Congrats to themmm! I usually get a cortado or espresso tonic from here. The baristas are great and nice. The vibe of their cafe is very modern with wood accents and there's a frigging whole ass tree in their entry way which is wildddd. It's definitely more of a social space and I wouldn't recommend working here as they don't have large tables and I think it's meant to be more of a chill vibey space. They have a DJ some days which is cool. For the drinks my one critque is that sometimes when it's busy, they prepare the tonic water and ice but it takes a couple minutes to get the espresso shot so the espresso tonic is not very fizzy and a lil watered down as a result. The espresso itself is good it's not too bitter or acidic imo and I love their cortados as they are very balanced. I now just get a cortado when their busy and an espresso tonic when they aren't. Overall, highly recommend! I will say since this place has gone viral maybe not completely worth the long line and wait on the weekends if you have other plans, Sunday mornings it's pretty chill tho. read more

The highlight of my visit? Scoring parking on the side of fire station #7. Hello, boys! =D Ok, in all seriousness, Hedge Coffee is probably the most stunning cafe in the city so I get the hype for the vibes. Japandi-style, modern minimalism - high ceilings, all the furnishings and shelves are redwood with a view into their in-house roasting. And, a beautiful redwood tree in the courtyard with a skylight. DJ spinning vinyl on the weekends. They had a great playlist on the weekday. Hello, 90s freestyle-ish. I can't drink coffee so went with their Iced Matcha Latte (10 oz-$10). I don't mind paying premium prices for a great matcha latte (as a treat) but this one was meh, watery and not much flavor. Sorry, I hate to be the first one to not give 5 stars but I've had a lot better matcha lattes at a fraction of the cost. It is called Hedge "Coffee" after all so probably best to stick with the coffee. O T H E R I N F O * Hedge Coffee started as a mobile coffee catering business in 2015. They became a pop-up in 2020 and opened their first brick and mortar in late October 2025. * In-house roasting using a Loring Roaster. * Single-origin coffees, brews and pour-overs. Such an incredible coffee shop with a live DJ on the weekends! Hedge has been around for a while and congrats to them for opening up a beautiful space. The front is the coffee bar, not much seating and towards the back is the roasting process you can enjoy while waiting for your drink. I would say the most impressive and beautiful part of their coffee shop is the redwood tree at the exterior of their entrance that is now surrounded by benches. Need I say more about their coffee though? If you've had them before, you know their coffee is incredible and really good. With that said, their coffee does come at a higher price tag - but worth! The few times I've come I got my drink to go. But from my observation, the dine in seating situation is a first come first serve and you have to wait in line to get the next open table on the left hand side of the coffee bar. As for parking - quite rough since it's in the Mission. Would suggest ride-sharing instead to avoid endless circling. read more
I was excited to visit Hedge Coffee's new brick and mortar location after having tried their mobile coffee cart a few times when my company brought them in for special occasions. I had heard from some of the baristas that they were opening up a location in the Mission months beforehand and had my eye out for their opening. First, love the ambiance and vibe here with a clean modern aesthetic, high ceilings, stunning shelving and an open air courtyard to welcome you in. The also have a DJ spinning vinyl on the weekends with a great 90s playlist. I've always loved the coffee and matcha from Hedge and in particular the cortado is amazing. You can't beat the quality of their beans but the prices here are pretty steeps even for SF. A 10z latte is $8 while a matcha is $10. Prices do include tax. They've just opened but I hope they introduce more specialty lattes to justify the price later on. We were lucky enough to snag a small table on a Sunday morning but given how busy it is I wouldn't plan on hanging out for long. Definitely worth trying once but probably not a go-to given the $$$ prices. read more

I am really excited for this new coffee shop in my neighborhood. Be aware of the parking on Showell. They have STREET SWEEPING on both sides either Tuesday or Thursday from 12 to 2. They're pretty good about showing up on time at 12 usually. There are other businesses and offices on the street so parking can be tricky. I came in early on Monday morning and there was no line. I tried the vanilla latte and it was pretty good. I didn't feel the need to add any sugar and drank it as is. This is a place that only has one size for their coffee and limited options for pastries. But I was told by the barista that they have more options on the weekends than they do on the weekdays. I'm looking forward to visiting this new coffee shop in the future and seeing the business do well. read more
Pretty expensive, but really considerate service with the pre-warmed cups, knowledgeable staff, and responsibly sourced single origin coffee bean options. Coffee tastes great, textures are good, and everything prepared well. Aesthetics are clean, simple, and modern, and vibes with the live DJ and vinyls are cool. Came when the hype was high because of everyone's on holiday schedule and social media, so didn't really have the time or space to appreciate everything because it was so crowded. But I can imagine the vibes being good when things calm down a bit. read more
Did not expect this place to hit like this but it did. New York has La Cabra and Sey, LA has Modu and Stereoscope and Loquat, and SF has Coffee Movement. Then Hedge came. One of the best in the city so far. Recently opened on October 25 (my birthday!!). - They pre rinsed my cup with hot water before serving my batch brew - they taste tested the pour over before serving - latte art in the form of a swan, one of the hardest designs to nail down in the specialty coffee business. This one's probably more dependent on the barista working for the day. Go before the word is fully out although at this point it pretty much is!! Line up before 9:30 AM and you should be fine with seating but after 10 am on the weekends it's going to be a decent wait. Standing room space and a few indoor seating but a big outdoor space too. The indoor seating benches don't be afraid to make room in the space in between the couple's seats -- just ask the person next to it if they're ok with that. maximize it!! Hedge Coffee is one of those places that reminds me why SF is known as a major coffee city. I came in on a Tuesday morning, and the place was entirely full. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the environment is super modern and aesthetically pleasing! The employees are the exact vibe of person that feels too cool for me to talk to (like the person in high school that you're super intimidated by because they're just cooler than you but is actually really nice), but they were really friendly and conversational. I ordered a Vanilla Latte, and it was one of the best espresso drinks I've had in an extremely long time. It was incredibly smooth, with the perfect amount of sweetness. It was on the pricier end, but they don't charge extra for oat milk and the quality was evident. I don't finish drinks quickly, but I finished this one immediately. Unfortunately, they don't have Wi-Fi, so they're not a place to do work at. The Cortado ($6) and espresso tonic ($8) were delicious! Coffee flavor had notes of caramel and some berry. Beans are roasted in house in the back of the store. Went this past weekend (11/16) around 11AM and waited in line for 25 minutes to order. The menu prices are quite steep, with lattes starting at $8. Along with coffee, there's also a few baked goods. Music was blasting, it will get you up and moving, but it was somewhere hard to hear when ordering and getting order. Simple clean interior with coffee process happening in the middle of the store. From the looks of it, the espresso machines are built in to the counter. My favorite design was the courtyard featuring the tall tree, bringing in some light to dimmer light shop. Love the coffee flavor and layout. I think the store should feature more speciality drinks to justify the coffee prices. read more
