Pretty awesome space with DJ onsite. Matcha was pretty good, but probably the most expensive matcha in SF city. Tried latte, pour overs for couple times but it didn't have much of a distinctive flavor.
Vanilla latte was delicious, croissant was buttery and flaky. Great decor, a relaxing spot to do some work. Limited seating but we were still able to snag a table.
Stopped in for a cortado and a strawberry croissant, and both delivered the espresso balanced and not bitter, the croissant properly laminated with real fruit flavor instead of syrupy filler. It's the kind of pastry that makes you slow down mid-bite. The place feels good to be in, like a wooden temple for coffee, it reminds me of All Press in Koto, Tokyo, Japan. The barista Caleb working the register is genuinely funny but sharp, easy timing, the sort of banter that makes the wait for your order more fun rather than something to get through. Good coffee, good pastry, good energy at the counter. Worth the stop.
Hedge Coffee is such a vibey spot, especially on a Sunday afternoon. We stopped by when it was pretty crowded with a line out the door. Having an actual redwood tree planted in the front adds such a cool, unique touch to the entrance. Inside, the space feels really nice and well-designed, complete with a DJ spinning vinyl records to set the mood. Despite the crowd, there's a good balance of indoor and outdoor seating. They also have two restrooms available. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you come during peak weekend hours. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get up to the register to order, and another 10-15 minutes for our drinks to be ready. Overall, if you don't mind a slower pace and want a spot with great music and solid aesthetics, it's definitely a fun place to drop by.
Somewhat hard to find parking, especially at peak hours. They have a semi outdoor seating and also inside seating as well. As soon as you get in line, you can hear the DJ's music. Ordering is super easy. Inside is definitely a vibe and they have some standing tables/area in the back behind the dj. You don't necessarily feel like you're in the Mission once you're inside. Seats inside are nice since you are facing the baristas and the line so you can watch them make the coffees, the DJ, or just people watch. Opted for the vanilla iced latte; they also have pour overs too which I may try next time. The vanilla is a bit on the sweeter side initially but is not as bad once the ice in the coffee melts. Coffee itself was tasty.
LOVE the ambiance. Beautiful aesthetics, chill vibe and plenty of space. Their strawberry croissant's life changing and their vanilla latte hits the spot. A1 service is the cherry on top of this hidden gem of a coffee shop.

Beautiful space especially the front seating which is dog friendly. Live DJ on the day I went which really bumped up the vibes. Went specifically for the Chai which is flavorful and on the spicier side from the ginger. My favorite spot for Chai but their coffees are also great. Friendly service! Drinks are on the pricier side but no extra cost for dairy alternative and no tipping. There is a constant line so not a quick and grab and go spot. Great spot to catch up with friends and slower pace day.
TIME: came around 12:00 pm on a friday, it was pretty packed, and most of the seats were taken PARKING: you kind of have to luck out with the street parking, mostly you would have to parallel park to grab a spot, otherwise you would just have to park far and walk OUTSIDE: outside seating outside, super crowded if it busy, but the vibes were overall super nice, great atmosphere. INSIDE: super nice space, super minimalist and it is an open bar type of space where you can see them make your drinks and whatnot. SERVICE: you order through the cashier, and they'll give you your pastries or cakes if you order some upfront. otherwise you just wait for your drinks on the side. FOOD & DRINK: VANILLA AND MOCHA LATTE WITH OATMILK - super solid, we both got it hot, and the sweetness was just right and you can taste the flavors, which i very much liked, got a little too rich with both of the lattes at the end, but such a good latte overall. SUN-DRIED TOMATO PASTRY - super good pastry, has pesto and i honestly don't even like sun dried tomatoes but it was actually good. BLACK FOREST CAKE - i love black forest cakes and this wasn't too sweet, it was just right and it was amazing OVERALL: super solid coffee shop with amazing vibes, you can only go in the back to chill on weekends though, but super nice place to grab a coffee or go on a date, or just study too and get some work done. probably wouldn't recommend when it's super busy since the limited seating is a huge factor
Stopped by on a whim since I was in the area. There was a line out the door even at 3 pm on a Saturday! The line moved at a decent pace though. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable. Hedge has a purist coffee menu that doesn't have the frilly drinks you typically see in coffeeshop menus these days. Since it was late in the afternoon, I got a decaf espresso with almond milk. It came out quickly. There is seating in the courtyard and around the perimeter of the interior but given the # of people, it felt like seating was really limited. Most people took their drinks to-go. I don't feel like this is the type of coffee shop to hunker down and work on your laptop. They had a DJ playing music and a fog machine in the back. Definitely an energetic vibe. I enjoyed my coffee! I can see the hype and why there's a line. Would be back if I was in the area again.

Not the best place to set up with a computer but there are outlets and some indoor seating. The wood used throughout is stunning. Croissant was incredible
A nice coffee shop with a unique space, ample seating and a live dj on the weekend! Parking is street parking near by, super walkable to the coffee shop and doesn't get too busy! Definitely would recommend checking them out for a casual coffee break :)
Such a cool coffee shop! I absolutely fell in love with the aesthetic! We also got really lucky because when we came, there was no line, but when we left, the line had at least 15 people. I had the espresso tonic. It was good, but nothing to write home about. I wish they had their own spin to it. But it was a solid classic espresso tonic. I would say though, the cup wasn't filled all the way and it was pricier than many other espresso tonics I've had. In addition, my friend just thought his latte was ok. That being said, this isn't my first choice for coffee, but I love the place and the fact that they have a vinyl dj set.

Hedge coffee is a vibe! A perfect coffee date spot, a solo spot or a coffee shop to catch up with friends. The indoor is a bit limited with seats but they also have options out front with tables. Great Baked goods selection but I was bummed to learn they do not warm/toast your baked goods. Everything tasted amazing but nothing beats a warm croissant. Live DJ was great, and not too hype which was nice for a Sunday morning music vibe to start off the day. read more

Beautiful cafe with high ceilings and a redwood tree at the entrance. We went at 8:30am on a weekend and there was no line, but all of the seats inside and outside were already taken. Coffee was great! Staff were not very friendly but the drinks came out pretty quickly. It was easy to find street parking nearby in the morning. read more
Definitely Japanese hipster/LA arts district vibes. High ceilings, concrete and wood, sharp straight lines. Line out the door but it moves pretty fast since their menu is simple. Cold brew was pretty good, iced cappuccino was pretty good. They have a DJ playing...you guessed it, house music. This isn't a place to meet up with someone and catch up because the music is really loud. It's more of a place to sit, sip your expensive coffee, and people watch, making a comment about philosophy and abstract art every few minutes. read more
Come here for the vibes, but no need to stay for the coffee. Hedge is located inside a refurbished warehouse with a sleek and modern minimalist aesthetic. High ceilings, beautiful hardwood shelving and paneling, and a cool view of the roasting facility in the back. The entrance also has a stunning baby redwood as the centerpiece with a skylight over it. V instagrammable, I'd give design 8/10. Coffee though? 4/10. Bay Area coffee prices are more or less the same, but I'd say Hedge's starting prices are about $1-2 more than other spots like Coffee Movement (which consistently puts out quality pours and espresso starts at $4 IIRC). We ordered the Cifuentes Single Origin (Mexico) pour over, which was $10. The beans were definitely over-roasted. Color was deceptively pretty, but the cup lacked aroma. The profile and finish were also so flat and muddy. The only note we could pick out was "burnt". Usually, when I go to a new coffee spot, I either get the batch/house brew or espresso to get the most unfiltered (hah) version of both the quality of the roasted beans and the technique that went into brewing them. My husband was super curious about the pour overs though, so here we are, with an unsatisfying and expensive $10 cup. read more
This is a hidden roastery. If you are not looking for it you may pass it. The space modern and minimalist. The vibes are peaceful. They've been roasting beans for over 10 years and the shop has been open for less than a year. I tried the espresso with milk. Strong and robust. We picked up a bag of the beans for home. There is an amazing space for roasting the beans and I love exploring. Please come and create your own adventure. read more
very close to perfection. the coffee is excellent and the vanilla latte tastes fresh. the only two downsides are the people and the prices. the aesthetic is very charming and fits the wood tones well. they play vinyl records and have a ton of space and natural light. the bathrooms are also surprisingly some of the nicest in the city for some reason. 8.5/10 read more

This was probably one of the coolest coffee bars I've ever been to in my entire life. The vibes were immaculate. They had a DJ playing some really fun music, everyone who worked there was super helpful and very friendly. The drinks were definitely great quality and made very well. Delicious coffee and textbook latte and cappuccino. The space is well decorated and had an interesting vibe. I appreciated the seating outside as well. It is incredibly expensive and that probably contributes to the vibes of the coffee shop. It's a luxury treat occasionally. read more
Coffee and vibes were perfect! This was my first time going to a coffee shop that played music and man am I missing out! The presentation of the different types of coffee had me in awe. The line to get coffee on a Saturday around noon took about 15-25 mins but totally worth it. There is parking all around but you have to drive a block or two which is understandable in the City. read more

Finally made it to Hedge Coffee and even found parking on the same street. Yay me. When you walk in; what can I say; you have a live pine tree standing in front of you; complemented by beautiful skyline ' absolutely gorgeous. The space is incredible - really chill, good music in the background, high ceilings & vinyl records - good vibes. I ordered my Americano with a little bit of almond milk. Coffee was presented to me in a matching the vibe cup but the ratio of espresso and hot water was a little bit off; too strong like the cup was too small. The staff working there was not rude, but they were not friendly either. I can't really put my finger on it but it was as if they were kind of matching the vibe of the place. Very nonchalant. Every seat was taken in a middle of the day and one guy with his laptop was spread out at a table for four. Im glad that I checked out the place but I don't think I will be coming back. Wow what a VIBE!!!!!!!! I came on a weekend and it was very busy. I can see why! There was live music playing (house music I think?) and the interior and exterior of the coffee shop are stunning. Wooden accents everywhere, black painted walls, and a real tree with an open top ceiling with the sky peeking out!! So beautiful. I got an iced latte and it was a strong espresso flavor, I feel like it's a dark roast! The baristas here definitely know what they're doing, the one doing latte art was sooooo talented wow. read more

Ambiance: Hedge Coffee is a small coffee shop located in the mission district with both a small outdoor covered courtyard and limited wall seating on the left and standing on the right. The coffee shop has gentle ambient lightning and music inside the coffee shop itself. Wait time: Hardly any wait time when ordering drinks and no line though it can be crowded for indoor seating or outdoor courtyard seating as well. Service: The baristas are quick to make drinks as they are ordered and friendly with customers especially with any menu questions. Drink: The mocha was a good flavor while being hot but not to the point of scalding. The mocha had a strong rich coffee flavor with notes of chocolate and the steamed milk helped balance the flavors. It was relatively expensive for the size of the coffee. There are also small pastries as well that can be ordered varying from both ham and cheese to vegetarian options as well. read more
What a beautiful space!! An open air courtyard led into another high ceiling room with sleek wood accents and a live DJ (!!!). It was crowded on a warm SF day, but the line went by quickly. Dog friendly too! Espresso + milk ($8 for 10oz): Perfect, no notes. Smooth, strong, and loved the taste! Fun hidden gem in the Mission, felt like I was in LA. Prices are steep ($10 for a 10oz matcha...), but I guess you also pay for the experience? My friends and I sat in the cool shade (AC indoors too!) for nearly an hour chatting. Great coffee! Bold and strong espresso profile. Simple straight forward menu. Liked it enough to buy some beans for home. Visited on a Saturday. The line ebbs and flows. Great for a leisurely weekend visit. Seating might be a little tough to get. Not my first choice to bring a friend for a chat. Ambiance is fresh with the indoor-outdoor feel and natural textured interior. They had two DJs sinning on vinyl the time we visited. Staff are polite. Would recommend! read more

Went really early and was among 5 people there. I'm glad I had time to sit and enjoy my pastry. The ambiance was very soothing and the workers were incredibly nice but not too overbearing. I really enjoyed the espresso and pastry. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

Cool industrial/modern style space. Per the photos I thought this place would be bigger than it is. Not a ton of seating. Good coffee! We loved our vanilla lattes. Vanilla is the only flavor they have. Nice service. Would go back if in the area. They also have scheduled DJ events. read more

hedge ... idk man. its giving corporate industrial emo but in a performatively chic way. like if japan and elon musk had a baby but the baby took some antidepressants. sorry idk if that was an accurate clock but either way not a very inviting atmosphere! tbf the baristas are nice. i think the goat latte artist himself took our order. music is nice. it feels like a club. i got the flat white, it was okay. it tastes like any other med-dark roast blend. the ratio of milk was fine, milk was steamed well at least! i got a uh rosetta pattern that looked a bit freaky ... idk i probably wouldnt go back. it was cool for the first time though! read more
This coffee shop is so beautiful, def the first thing that stood out to me. I love the wood accents, the DJ booth (so sick), and that the coffee bar is set up in the middle. There's not a ton of seats but I found a standing table. There's coffee is def overpriced. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was $9-10 which is steep for sure. But honestly it was a good latte. I liked the coffee they use and didn't think the drink was too sweet. Personally for me, I'd come again for the vibe and aesthetic of the place, but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way simply bc of the price point. read more

Came by a Thursday at around 7:30AM. There was a short line and plenty of sitting available. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They have some indoor and semi-outdoor sitting which is nice. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a vanilla latte. Must say that I think the vanilla latte is amongst the top 3 I've tried in the city. Very creamy and the coffee itself was rich and not too acidic. The croissant was also great and paired paired perfectly with the coffee. Overall, will 100% be back to this spot! The ambiance, staff and coffee were all great. It did get busy by 8-8:15, so something to keep in mind. read more
