I had a wonderful Monday morning at Plow. It's quaint and a very humble restaurant. It's bright inside and doesn't feel overly squishy. We were seated immediately at the counter and got our food within the next 15-20 min.Their breakfast is pretty yummy, nothing too crazy I'd say. I just found my pork a bit too dry for my liking. Everything is homemade for sure, down to the hot sauce. Overall it was a wonderful experience, I will be back.

Plow has been on my list of spots to try for over a decade. I finally had the opportunity to check them out on a random early Thursday morning around 7:15am. There were 2 other tables occupied and the server seated our party of 2 next to another table of 2. We were literally arm and arm with our neighbors. I asked for a different table and then got seated next to the other table of 2, which was another arm and arm situation. Finally, I asked if the counter was available, which was where we ended up having breakfast. That was super awkward to say the least. Not just for us, but to the other patrons since there were so many empty tables, including outside tables. Totally understand in trying to maximize seating, but that morning wasn't hustling or bustling with patrons. Good brunch options weren't as plentiful 10+ years ago as it is now. For the price and quality/quantity of our Plow brunch, it was underwhelming. I opted for the Soft Scramble and saw the eggs were from a pre-mixed carton (don't even think they're real eggs). However, The Plow included real eggs, saw the chef crack open the eggs on the grill-top. Sitting at the counter has advantages to see what and how the chefs are cooking. Service started off on the wrong foot with the seating situation, and can't say that it improved. Overall, this experience was just ok. I don't need to come again, I've satisfied my Plow inqueries. #13/2026

Glad I came here on a weekday because it was only a 20 minute wait and ended up being mediocre. I would never wait hours in line just to eat brunch as mentioned by some of these other yelpers on the weekends. The service is a bit slow. I literally had to ask them if I could order. I liked the lemon ricotta pancakes and the lemon sauce was good however as for the French toast. It was so bland. They don't know how to make it here. It wasn't yummy at all. Also, got the prosciutto and Gruyere sandwich. They should put more prosciutto to the sandwich and more frisee as well. The potatoes were OK. As for the biscuit, it wasn't as soft as I hoped for like the outside of it was pretty hard, but I did like the honey butter. Also, it's a small restaurant with only one bathroom and super out of the way in the city.

First time here after many attempts of eating brunch! We put our name down at 11am and was told to come back after 2-2.5 hours for a table of six. We popped by Ilea coffee and went to Breadbelly bakery short drive away. For the wait, I don't think I would come back. It's decent brunch food but nothing that can't be done somewhere else like at Sweet Maple or Wooden Spoon. The only standout is the Ricotta pancake which is very creamy yet cakey, and not too sweet.

The plow - absolutely love their potatoes, nice crispy edges and perfectly seasoned. highly recommend getting their apple chicken sausage, it's the perfect balance of savory sweet. the pancakes are PHENOMENAL, it's a bit dense but still fluffy and paired so well with the light lemon whip. very filling and shareable. French toast - it's huge, definitely shareable. I like the crisp edges, it's not overly sweet and the whipped cream adds a creamy sweet touch! really fluffy and simple, super delicious! Came at 7:45AM on a Sunday and there was already a line forming outside shop. Highly recommend coming at least 20 min before opening to get a table inside. Staff friendly and food came out quick and warm!

Very few brunch places like this in dogpatch area so it has a lot of demand and food is great. However wait time is terrible. They dont text you when your turn is up. Very few savory, vegetarian options. Ambiance is great. We ordered lemon ricotta and grilled cheese.

This place amazes me so much!!! I came here for brunch and this place was packed. There are not a lot of seating indoors so I sate outdoors. It was pretty cold but they had blankets for us! I love their biscuits (it's a must order!) and the breakfast sandwich with homemade potatoes was the best!!!! Definitely 10/10 breakfast/brunch place in SF

Our friends who live in SF brought us here and they played it like pros. They drove over early, put our name down, scooped us up from the hotel, and timed it so we walked back just as our table was ready. That's the move because a table for 4 at 10:35am on a Sunday meant a solid hour and a half wait. Rookie mistake if you don't plan ahead. One of my friends went to Berkeley and used to come here nearly 10 years ago. She swears it was great back then and somehow it's still just as good now which says everything. Spots like this don't usually keep that kind of consistency. We ordered the soft scramble, 2 fried egg sandwiches, and an eggs Benedict. Everything hit. The potatoes were exactly how brunch potatoes should be: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and well seasoned. My soft scramble with goat cheese and shiitake mushrooms was rich without being heavy. If you can outsmart the wait, it's absolutely worth it. Just don't show up hungry and clueless, have a game plan.

It's rare to have a weekday breakfast out. It generally means that it's a holiday or I'm playing hooky. In this case, it was the latter as a friend joined me in attending the Warriors' season ticketholder event that was being held later this morning at Chase Center. My friend chose to come here from three places that I suggested. I'd heard of Plow but didn't know much about the background and menu. Arriving a little after 9 am on a Thursday, there was no line but only one available table against the far wall besides seats on the counter. We chose the table and quickly studied the menu. As we discussed it, we agreed to order two different things and share them family style. We started with The Plow (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=PXN8aTwQLjc671bS2C0xaA), sunnyside eggs and house-made pork sausage patties; comes with Plow potatoes + buttered toast. There is no shortage of variety here but my friend and I agreed the Plow potatoes were the star of this plate. Everything else was good but this was perfectly seasoned with some character without being dry. Everything else was cooked as ordered and, being a generous plate, I brought my toast home given the portions. We also shared the crab scramble (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=d-FJLTLSA-NJZtkwoeHjDg); described as three eggs, dungeness + rock crab, scallions, house creme fraiche, Plow potatoes + toast. This sounded interesting with the high end ingredients being the attention grabber. This was good but the protein didn't shine as the scramble was on the bland side. I didn't want to detract from the crab by pouring hot sauce. My friend had coffee while I just had the table provided water for our meal. Service was efficient with our glass and cup being respectively filled. I was given a small box for my unfinished pancake and toast. The dining room stayed full throughout with a few seats open on the counter. There was a small line and more people walking towards the restaurant as we left. The outdoor dining area wax also pretty much full too.

My absolute favorite brunch spot in SF. The wait is definitely worth it, but a trick is to put your name down, and the waiter will lyk when to return! So you can spend time doing something else during the 1-2hr wait. I typically put my name down around 10am, and I'll be seated by 11:30am. Parking is very easy to find in the neighborhood. The plow is a must order for first timers given you get to try a bit of everything. The pancake is fluffy. I love their potatoes, it's the best part of the meal. I also enjoyed their egg sandwich which is cheaper, and also fills you up with all the potatoes on the side. They have seats inside and outside, you can request your preference when you're putting your name down. Service is excellent. Vibe is perfect for a friends gathering.

after hearing about plow for so long, I can confirm it lives up to the hype! my sister and I went in on saturday morning at 8:30 and waited around 20 minutes. everybody was also so friendly, including the hostess. the location in potrero hill is so charming and there are plenty of coffee shops to go if you have a long wait. my sister and I both ordered coffee and the plow- which I think is the best option since it comes with lemon ricotta pancakes, eggs, choice of meat (I loved the pork sausage), and potatoes so you get to try everything. we loved the potatoes which had those crispy bits and were even better with their hot sauce. the pancakes are also so special- the ricotta makes it so moist and the tart lemon curd goes amazing with it. I'm already craving going back again to have a big breakfast, and to try some of their other drinks like the juices! plow is certainly worth the wait and I will definitely be back soon.

Located in Portrero Hill, Plow is a great option for brunch...if you're willing to wake up early to get on the waitlist! Luckily, some friends of mine live in the neighborhood and put our names down at around 8:30 am. We ended up eating brunch at 11:45. We were seated outside, and the restaurant gave us some blankets to use while we ate, since it was a little chilly out. The staff were very nice and patient, and they answered all our questions about the menu. One person in our party has dietary restrictions, and the person who was taking care of our table made sure to explain all the dishes that would work with my friend's restrictions, as well as potential substitutions my friend could make. One of my friends and I split the eggs Benedict and the French toast. Both were delicious! The potatoes that came with the eggs were crispy and cooked well. The caramelized apples on top of the French toast were delicious and warm. The Plow was also a solid option and very filling. This was a great experience, and the neighborhood was super cute and quiet, too! Lots of great looking restaurants, cafes, and bookstores. Highly recommend!

YUM! I love breakfast at Plow. It's definitely less busy on weekdays, but you should still expect a wait. This place is that good. Small, cute little restaurant tucked away in Potrero Hill. Just a heads up if you're walking, it's up a STEEP hill. There are a few tables inside with some counter seating, plus outdoor tables if you luck out with a warm day. I've been twice and ordered The Plow Breakfast both times. It comes with two eggs, two lemon ricotta pancakes, Plow potatoes, and your choice of meat. I love the variety. The pancakes are little pillows of heaven and the potatoes are amazing. Safe to say I'll be back again and again. Plow never disappoints!

What kind of lines or wait times M-Thurs ~ 9:30 10 am?

The busiest times for Plow are early morning through lunchtime. This restaurant is very small and popular and my recommendation would be to go towards the end of their day. We did that and only waited 5 minutes!

Do they still serve gluten-free pancakes?

    Yes! They're delicious:)

What is the wait like on Monday at 9am?

Shouldn't be long but the earlier you come the better. I'm not sure I've ever waited at all when arriving before 8:30

    Do they gluten free options?

    yes! (including GF pancakes)

Anyone knows how busy this place is usually on Friday morning?

If you get there when it opens you shouldn't have to wait too long - AND worth the wait!!

The sauce that accompanied the momos was so delectable, I had to request for another serving of bread to sop it all up! We also ordered the charred brussel sprouts & toasted grape salad and the gems of California beets salad - both were beautifully presented & combined a delicious blend of flavors. The food was amazing, the service attentive! We didn't want to have too big of a meal since we were heading to a show at the Herbst Theatre after dinner so we didn't order entrees or desserts. We plan to go back again soon. I would recommend trying out this neighborhood gem.

The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.

From day one it became an industry restaurant - One of the few spots in the city where you could show up late night, order off a menu that changes daily, and know the food is going to be dialed in. I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! I would love to visit again and update my review :)

Cilantro?thyme?) or some arugula, something to balance it out. Would be best to come with someone else (if you have someone to go with you, I didn't) and share more dishes, I think. The marinated artichokes were good, not amazing, but a large portion and pleasant enough. I wish they had more veggies or a salad option. The seats are not comfortable, this is not a place to come and relax with a book. The parklet seating is nicely sheltered from the breeze, but can be noisy. The music, outdoor setting, and service are all good. Flatbread was lovely and soft when hot, hardens to a crispy cracker when it cools. The Woody's sparkling N.A. rosé was a bit flat (flavor wise). I've had better ones (especially for the price). I'd definitely come back with a friend or a date. It was a depressing spot for dining solo, and it would be hard to come here with a bigger group.

The outdoor parklet was the perfect synthesis of indoor and outdoor. I'll definitely be back to try their "cheeky" hour with select discounted bites and drinks.
