My business colleague invited me to catch up with him this week in San Francisco. Living in the neighborhood he recommended we meet at Andytown Coffee Roasters at 181 Fremont Street adjacent to the Saleforce Park. I took an Uber which dropped me in front of the correct building location, however, I had in minds eye remembering seeing a coffee shop in the Salesforce Park so I inadvertently went to that coffee shop. WRONG! After realizing my mistake, I texted my colleague and we were able to connect IRL on Andytown Coffee Roasters on the 7th floor. The shop is HUGE and since it took a few minutes to circle back my friend ordered me a medium coffee ahead of my arrival which was great given there was a long line by the time I arrived. The coffee was very nice and I appreciate the taste and warmth. After about 45 minutes we left the ACR shop and walked in the elevated Salesforce Park which is stunning urban designed. The only comment I would mention is the noise volume levels were loud given there were 20-30 people in line to order and talking. Not a big deal, we moved to two very comfortable sofas a few feet away or could have gone outside since there is many options inside and outside to enjoy the space. I took several photos of my visit and when I am back in the area will definitely go back and try their menu. I honestly love the vibes of this cafe and it's a great study spot, but that couldn't even save it. I came on a Tuesday afternoon to try their matcha. They have a seasonal Strawberry Matcha Latte, and I have never felt this disappointed in a drink before. The drink barely had any matcha and turned grey after mixing. The strawberry was overly sour. You can see from the color that they used the most oxidized matcha ever. The drink really tasted like iron mixed with something sour. I hope they taste their drinks before selling it. Maybe other lattes are better but honestly this was just way too disappointing. read more

This spot is one of my go-to coffee shops. The ambience is perfect for chilling or getting some work done--there's plenty of seating and reliable WiFi, which makes it super easy to stay awhile. The pastries here are SO good. You have to get the chocolate chip cookie--it's honestly my favorite cookie spot right now. What really sets this place apart though is the team. The staff and manager are the best--especially Gloria, who is exceptional. She goes above and beyond to create such a welcoming environment, and you can tell the whole team reflects that same level of care. Customer service here is consistently great. Bonus: it's connected to a small rooftop park, which is such a nice touch. Perfect for taking a quick stroll when you need fresh air or a break. Highly recommend! Getting here was a bit confusing (Thanks a lot Google Maps) but as soon as we walked into the building, it was easy to find. Beautiful layout, lots of people working on laptops. Line was fairly short (surprising for a Saturday morning). My boyfriend ordered The Snowy Plover matcha (matcha + sparkling water) while I ordered the strawberry matcha which I didn't notice was put in as a regular matcha until after we paid. My boyfriend attempted to get their attention in a kind manner that the person had put in my order wrong though the 2 other baristas in charge of making the drink failed to acknowledge him. The person who rang us up overheard then acknowledged what occurred and made sure to tell them that I ordered a strawberry matcha. The Snowy Plover matcha is an acquired taste. Definitely one to try to get the "Andytown experience". My strawberry matcha was not good. The strawberry syrup was way too sour and revolting. I took 2 sips and was done. Definitely glad to finally try this place! I've been wanting to try Andytown for a few years, especially when briefly living near their Outer Sunset location as I've heard so many good things. This is my favorite coffee shop in SF! I am a big fan of their Snowy Plover coffee, and Matcha tonic drinks. Make sure to get your with whip cream!!! Also look to see if they have any special Snowy plover coffee because sometimes they do. I've had the Yuzu Snowy Plover and the Birthday one, and both were very good. They also have a good café mocha. I have also tried their granola and it is excellent! Also, this location is wonderful because it is the only coffee shop located right at the sales for Spark. So it's a great location for you to pick up a wonderful quality coffee and then stroll around the park. Also, their location has several tables and sofas to sit in. Usually lines can be very long right after lunch, but if you call her during off pick hours it's much faster. read more

Finally tried Andytown Coffee after recently moving to SF! I got the original bird, which is basically an espresso cream soda and it was sooo refreshing! The drink was very slightly sweet from the whipped cream (or maybe just the fizz?) and not heavy at all. I much preferred this to my sister's hot latte (which was also good), especially when paired with the sunny weather outside. The cafe was also connected to the salesforce park so we were able to sip our coffees on a nice little stroll away from the busy-ness of DTSF. The cafe itself was very spacious with lots of seating. I opted for their limited edition birthday cake latte, since I was intrigued with the concept of birthday cake syrup! It honestly fell a bit flat for me, the fact that they make their cream in house is interesting though. It's definitely a thicker consistency than other cafes offer. The coffee flavor itself is quite yummy, this particular location is tucked inside of an artisanal supermarket. It's a decent jolt of caffeine, but I don't know if I'd go again. Came here on a Saturday morning after yoga class! I got my usual latte, which was really good - Andytown is definitely one of my favorites in the city! The interior is a very large, open space with lots of tables. There were many people here on their laptops working. I went to Andytown Coffee Roasters for the first time today on the top of the Salesforce term. I love how it's on the top floor with the garden walk/circle. I grabbed my coffee and did the walk before heading out. But let me talk about the coffee. I had a Brown sugar oat milk latte and my colleague had a Matcha oat milk latte. When we first approached the counter, we weren't greeted right away, but once we were, the cashier was very nice. We ordered the lattes and took a step back for others to order. They called us to pick up our lattes And before we started the walk, we stood around for a minute. What I do love about the places is very spacious and very clean. What I didn't like is it didn't feel very welcoming by the staff like you expect a small coffee shop to be. I can't tell you that I'll be back, but I'm glad I experienced it. read more

While visiting SF, a friend of mine tried Andytown and told me I had to give it a try so I found this one in Salesforce tower near my office. Its a little tricky to get to (maybe thats a me problem since I am not familiar with the area!) but once your up there its great. Its a small spot and it was PACKED at 3pm on a Wednesday and took me about 10 minutes to get through the line. Once I finally ordered, I got the Snowy Plover and omg! I am obsessed with this combo! the soda water and the whipped cream with espresso?? Just delish! Came into the city for work and had to stop by! For as much content I see about this online, I wasn't as pleased with the real-life experience. Location is lovely, this is at the top of a tower that exits right into Salesforce Park. Clean, easy to co-work at, and lovely to walk through the trees and park right outside. The service was just "okay", I felt like they moved people through quickly which was great. Unfortunately my drink was inputted wrong at the cash register so the barista had to remake it which I felt bad about. Since I was new, I wanted a few more suggestions but the register wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. I tried the matcha plover (a tonic?) since this is what I always see online. I see lots of great reviews so maybe nothing is wrong with the drink-- it might just not be my taste! I found the sparkling tonic to overpower the matcha flavor, and the "whipped cream" on top wasn't properly melting into the drink. I do appreciate that oat milk was free! Cool spot at Salesforce park! We came during the midday rush, and there was a long line of folks needing an afternoon pick-me-up. Despite the long line, it moved fairly quickly considering they only had a few employees and drinks were made to order. I decided to use this opportunity to order a coffee tonic, since it's one of Andytown's specialties! The snowy plover is two shots of espresso and brown sugar syrup poured over sparkling water and then topped with homemade whipped cream. In theory, all things I love! But it was in this moment I learned coffee tonics just aren't for me. The tonic + coffee ended up being too much bitterness for me, without enough sweet and creaminess to cut it. My first coffee-tonic experience! Or at least I think that's what it's called. Can you tell I'm from out of town? I was visiting for a work conference, and anytime I'm in San Fran I'm looking for new places to try! Our office is right near Salesforce Park, and this local goodie was conveniently located right there. The shop is quite big and roomy, with plenty of seating. Many folks were posted up with the laptops working, which seems like a great spot to do so. The line was long as could be when we arrived! The small barista team was crushing it though, churning out drinks quick. Being from the midwest, where coffee-tonics haven't hit yet, I figured I had to try one! My co-workers all had good things to say about them, too. I went with the Snow Plover since it's coined as the signature beverage here. This 16oz drink has sparkling water over ice, espresso, brown sugar syrup, and Andy's homemade whipped cream. I must say, the fizzy aspect was quite interesting. Certainly not bad, but also not necessarily great? I feel like I could take it or leave it. The overall flavor of the drink was delightful though, and damn that whipped cream... I feel as if this is typically the case for the location, and I was impressed with how quickly they worked through it! I'm pretty basic when it comes to coffee- iced lattes are my jam. I usually do a sugar free syrup, and Andytown doesn't carry those. Totally fine- that happens often! I don't think they had a huge selection of syrups in general. When I'm in San Francisco for work I'm downtown near Salesforce Park, and I'm always on the hunt for a great local coffee shop to support. This past visit I discovered Andytown and I think I'll make this place a regular stop for me when I'm working in SF in the future. The first thing you'll notice once you find this place is that it's located in Salesforce Park, which is already a win. If you haven't been to Salesforce Park yet you're missing out as it's an urban oasis and perfect for taking a break and stretching your legs while working in an office nearby. I love that they thoughtfully put a local option in instead of partnering with a mega brand as I'm sure they could have. On the day I arrived I unfortunately didn't have time to explore the park, but only really had the time to snag a coffee to go and take back to work with me. The first thing I noticed when I got there was the line - holy how this is a popular spot. That's always a good sign IMO, but I was a tad nervous as I was on a time crunch. I will say it wasn't FAST since it's a craft coffee spot, but it moved fast enough, and I decided it was worth the risk of being a few minutes late. What I was most excited about was their signature drink - the snowy plover. I've been on an espresso tonic kick lately and while this is more of an espresso cream soda, it definitely piqued my interest and I lowkey love it when a local brand does something a bit off the beaten path with coffee. Once I got mine I loved it. It was not only presented in a beautiful way for a take out beverage, but it was honestly delicious. My go-to tonic of course uses tonic water and I like a lil citrus, so this was a departure and while not something I'm itching to have every day I will order it again when I'm back in SF. Came to Andytown on a Thursday mid-morning. First of all, location is beautiful and staff are amazing. The bad is this location gets BUSY. You'll know immediately if you came at the wrong time lol. I waited over 20 min in one of the longest coffee lines I've experienced on a weekday... But - it's Andytown - it's worth the wait. This location definitely draws the tech crowd and they all seem to take a coffee break around 10 am lol. So plan accordingly. Anyway on to all the positives. Ordered the birthday latte (their March anniversary special); Considering the amount of people in line before me, once I ordered the wait for coffee itself wasn't too long. Staff definitely hustles to keep the line moving and coffee coming! The birthday latte / plover is only around for the month of March so order soon! A portion of sales of this drink also go to the Transgender Law Center which is so amazing given the political climate and attacks on human rights under the current admin (sorry Yelp, had to get a tiny bit political). It's on the sweet side, which I'm a sucker for! Always get it with the whip and sprinkles. As mentioned, the location is beautiful in Salesforce Park. Seating is available throughout the cafe as well as the park itself. It's such a great spot you'll immediately get over the wait time as you stroll through nature with your delicious coffee... Amazing coffee next to/in an amazing park in downtown SF. Take the elevator or escalator up to the park level in the Transbay Terminal and you'll spot it through some glass double doors around the edge of the park. Be wary of the morning rush on weekdays! I recommend coming during other hours when it's quieter: great for catching up with a coworker in the afternoon or as a get-away spot in downtown as the crowd is mostly non-existent after 10am or so and service is quick. They always have some special, but I typically get the always-present The Original Bird (one of their Snowy Plover coffees). It's fantastic as a soda/espresso/cream mix and what I pitch to anyone I take here. There's seating inside, but definitely hit up the beautiful park nearby. read more

I've had this place in my bookmarks for a while and have heard many good things about it. They seem to be best known for their plover drinks. They have seasonal offerings but when I went in late August the only plovers available were the original bird (espresso) and the matcha. I tried some of my friend's original bird, and thought it tasted pretty good! The thing that makes these unique are that they are both creamy and bubbly. I've visited Andytown at least 20 times since I was requested to return to the office last year - it's perfect for a quick afternoon break from work or an early morning coffee after a long commute. The quality of their coffee is always consistent and while the flavor of their matcha is on the light and subtle side, I'm always coming back here for their seasonal drinks and for their special Plover drinks (carbonated cold brew and matcha) topped with freshly-made whipped cream.
