Matcha plover
Cindy N.

Went to the taraval location near the beach and had the snowy plover and the matcha plover. Did not disappoint. Staff were friendly and it was nice to sit in the back outdoor area.

I came to try their Original Plover with the Tasty Sunset coupon. I can only pick between that one or hot drip coffee. I heard it's their most popular drink, but I'm not a fan of it after trying. It's espresso with sparkling water, brown sugar syrup, and house made whipped cream. I really liked the whipped cream but I'm not a fan of espresso. Surprisingly I liked their hot coffee better which they gave out for free at the SF Environment event at Yerba Buena. I appreciate that they are environmentally friendly! They encourage bringing your own mug by offering a discount which I did today. They also have oat milk, half and half, napkins, and sugar at the counter, but no Splenda.

Snowy mango plover

I love mango so knew I had to try this seasonal drink. The snowy mango plover was refreshing, a little creamy, and not super sweet. It's perfect for a hot day.

A quick-pace, efficient coffee shop for someone wanting good coffee in a pinch. The baristas are focused yet still professional, and you get your coffee order fairly quickly. There was a long line on a Saturday morning when I visited, but I was still in and out with my order within a few minutes. I ordered a latte no syrup, which was rich in creaminess but the coffee quality was what made it superb. There's outdoor seating, although mainly in the shade. Dress warm if you're planning on dining in!

Snowy Plover and Matcha Plover

Snowy Plover: was very skeptical at first about the mix of sparkling water and espresso but it surprisingly works. The flavors pair really well, the acidity of the sparkling water and espresso complement each other. The perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess, like a cream soda. Overall, it's very fun to try, will definitely get again. Matcha Plover: the sparkling-ness does not do as much for the matcha as it does for the coffee. Strong matcha flavor. Personally not a matcha person though. Ambiance: the store is very cute and by the beach. Was confused at first because its combined in a surf shop. Not a lot of seating, and was quite full on a Saturday morning

Breakfast sandwich

Got a classic cafe latte with soy milk which isn't pictured. It was pretty good. Honestly my favorite was this pictured breakfast sandwich. Loved the combination of toasted bread, savory cheddar cheese, ham, and a sunny side up egg with a runny yolk. Would definitely order that again!

Mochi Muffin and a Con Pana

Newest coffee shop obsession. Love the atmosphere and all the lovely pups hanging out! The outdoor seating area is adorable and comfortable. Staff is so friendly and the merch is freaking adorable. Con Panna was absolutely delicious and made my heart so happy. Can't go wrong with the breakfast sando, just what I was looking forward to and ended up trying the mochi muffin and oh man i'm so happy I did. I ended up finishing it before I even got to the sandwich. 10/10 highly recommend.

Matcha Plover

I was scared of getting the Matcha Plover (Matcha + Sparkling Water) since other reviews either HATED the combo or LOVED it. But it was pretty decent honestly. I'd try the Matcha Latte next time though.

Matcha latte

Pretty standard but solid SF coffee shop-$6-7 lattes with a bit of a line and wait on the weekends. Bakery items smelled delicious and we could see them being baked in house! Ordered the matcha latte and then enjoyed some of the outdoor seating available around the shop.

This review is just for the coffee and the service . My friend and I got the candied lavender latte, they got the ice one and I got the hot one. You can get it without whipped cream and add any type of milk you want . We both enjoyed the flavors and we think that the hot one was better in terms of capturing all the flavors. Out of all the Andytown locations, this one felt my homey and peaceful. This location is located in a quieter part of town, and probably the perfect location to grab a cup of coffee if you want to take a walk down the at the beach.

Cheese Toastie with greens, sooo yum.
Christine C.

This lovely cafe with delicious food and coffee was the perfect spot to land on a foggy SF morning. I ordered an Original Bird plover and a cheese toastie with greens. My first time trying a plover and I have to say, the description of "espresso cream soda" is pretty spot on. I'd go so far as to say "coffee beer float," and I loved it! The sandwich was incredible, I wanted to order another one as soon as I finished it, but I'll save that craving for a future visit to Andytown. I enjoyed sitting in the open window seat bench, people watching and letting the ocean breeze cool my face. What a great spot, I definitely plan to return and try more drinks, and course get that toastie again!

Loved coming to this coffee shop! The space itself was very calming and cute inside with a trendy design. They had plenty of bench seating indoors for while you wait. They had lots of outdoor seating too. Their coconut mochi muffin was delicious. Their homemade whipped cream was so thick and delicious! I asked for some on top of my latte. Loved this place!

Latte

After hearing a LOT about the famed Andytown latte, I finally decided I had to check it out myself. I opted for a classic latte w/ whip. The service was relatively fast, and the cafe was small but cozy (this was their outer sunset location). While I enjoyed the rich, deep notes of the latte itself, I wish the whip was more integrated throughout the drink, but it's nice to look at as is!

Cute cups. Cold brew with almond milk

On the days we have gone, the line has varied from being out the door to a quick walk in and order - truly just depends. Regardless of the long line, these drinks are soooo good. Upon entering the coffee shop, you'll see a good amount of seating, but for the times we have gone, the majority of the seats are taken. It is definitely a variety of people socializing, working, reading books, or just hanging out. Parking is metered or street parking, and we haven't had any issue finding parking! It's also in an area where you can shop around (across the street) if you want to grab a bite as well. Our go to orders include the Mocha Dream Espresso Cloud and the Nitro Mango, but we have also gotten the Hojicha Cloud, which is amazing as well. We love the thickness and flavors of the cold foams - you cannot go wrong with any of the cloud drinks. As popular as this place has become, it truly is worth the trip! We will always make a trip whenever we are in the city!

We waited quite a while, and while the drinks were good, I'm not sure they completely justified the wait. If you can come during off-peak hours, I think you'll enjoy it much more. Overall, it's a good café with quality coffee and a nice vibe. Just be prepared for a line if you visit during busy times.

I come to NEMS for lab work a lot and every time after I fasted, I come here for the rescue: Blueberry muffins, blueberry parfait and their latte with oatmilk is also amazing. The only draw back is they have a ton of loyal customers who are elderly and super loud, speaking in their native village language for extended periods. So if your head is exploding and needs a moment of tranquility, this isn't exactly for you. Love seeing the roaster and beans being roasted. Ordered a latte and it was piping hot, unfortunately way too hot to drink, so be careful. Once cooled down, the coffee was good, medium almost dark roast. Matcha was okay, had good flavor. The baked good is from a starter bakery which is from Berkeley/Oakland area. The baked good were delicious, so wish it can be heated up. Overall, a solid option for well priced coffee that roasts in house beans, but do need to watch milk temperature so that it is not too hot to drink.

Clearly I like their stuff enough to be a repeat customer, and this one is far more chill than the others. I wasn't even aware this low-profile shop was even here because it melts imperceptibly on Taraval's blandest commercial block in the Outer Sunset. This is also where Andytown roasts and packages all their beans. I saw some of this activity happening in a flurry behind the barista. I didn't know Andytown has a Northern Irish heritage but found out their in-house baked goods reflect that lineage. I ordered the $3.50 Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the prominent amount of salt was indicative of true Irish technique (Photo 10). Quite tasty and it went well with the refreshing $6.25 Iced Coffee made with their signature, chocolate-tinged Shore Leave Hook blend (Photo 9). Most people take their coffee drinks and beans to go, but there are a couple of benches in case you want to loiter a bit.
