The lady that I was watching was there for the matcha and I can understand why now. We tried the Yuzu Matcha Air Cloud and a Caramel Latte because I felt like we needed to try the coffee since it's a Coffee shop though I have to say I was not a fan of the coffee. We arrived just before the line outside started to form. There's seating available inside with a couple of people that seemed to be working. We originally sat in the middle section with the small round table that can't be moved but then a table opened up. There's a gender neutral restroom available that always seemed to have a line though I guess that's what happens at coffee shops. ~~Service: Good. It was quick to order and surprisingly very quick to receive our drinks as well. ~~Best Part: The Matcha. The coffee was a bit too bitter but it could be due to the fact that I do prefer to drink dark roasts. ~~Worst Part: Nit though maybe it's just me where we were expecting there to be a trash at the entrance so that we could throw away our cups as we were leaving but I guess there's no room for the bins at the beginning so you have to walk to the back towards the restroom to throw it away. ~~Tips: Get the matcha. I wanted to get the velvet but it looked so basic compared to the Yuzu matcha air cloud. The Yuzu flavor itself was refreshing in the foam form but I'm very basic when it comes to flavors and shouldn't have mixed the foam in because it was messing with me. ~~Return: Probably not. I wanted to check the receipt because somehow 2 drinks was nearly $20 but I realized there wasn't even an option to get a receipt.

I come to NEMS for lab work a lot and every time after I fasted, I come here for the rescue: Blueberry muffins, blueberry parfait and their latte with oatmilk is also amazing. The only draw back is they have a ton of loyal customers who are elderly and super loud, speaking in their native village language for extended periods. So if your head is exploding and needs a moment of tranquility, this isn't exactly for you. But if you want a vibrant energy with lots of odd mixture, the best coffees and lovely, heated pastries with at least 10 different varieties, then this place is unbeatable! Haha

Love seeing the roaster and beans being roasted. Ordered a latte and it was piping hot, unfortunately way too hot to drink, so be careful. Once cooled down, the coffee was good, medium almost dark roast. Matcha was okay, had good flavor. The baked good is from a starter bakery which is from Berkeley/Oakland area. The baked good were delicious, so wish it can be heated up. Overall, a solid option for well priced coffee that roasts in house beans, but do need to watch milk temperature so that it is not too hot to drink.

I'm afraid I'm quite ignorant when it comes to the…read moreAndytown coffee empire even though by happenstance, I've patronized three of their locations, most frequently the busy one off Salesforce Park (review: https://yelp.to/N3oi_bmhfG). Clearly I like their stuff enough to be a repeat customer, and this one is far more chill than the others. I wasn't even aware this low-profile shop was even here because it melts imperceptibly on Taraval's blandest commercial block in the Outer Sunset. This is also where Andytown roasts and packages all their beans. I saw some of this activity happening in a flurry behind the barista. I didn't know Andytown has a Northern Irish heritage but found out their in-house baked goods reflect that lineage. I ordered the $3.50 Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the prominent amount of salt was indicative of true Irish technique (Photo 10). Quite tasty and it went well with the refreshing $6.25 Iced Coffee made with their signature, chocolate-tinged Shore Leave Hook blend (Photo 9). Most people take their coffee drinks and beans to go, but there are a couple of benches in case you want to loiter a bit. COFFEE / BAKED GOODS - 4 stars...good spot for a cold brew and a decadent cookie AMBIANCE - 4 stars...much more chill in this multipurpose location SERVICE - 4 stars...quite industrious TOTAL - 4 stars...we all live in Andytown and we're Irish, too RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Okay, so it's basically like a really good strawberry soda. But, it made me think of all you Yelpers on Valentine's day with all your PDA. Blech. Cooties LOL..... So for a limited time Andytown has this strawberry refresher thing and a strawberry latte. Still love their original Plover which will always be my Valentine!
