It's so old school coffee shop and the poetry open mike can't be beat. Heh heh. Beatnik poetry. Where else can you go on a Friday afternoon and overhear two dudes talking about recent trends in California short story writing? Or the modern essay? So satisfying.

I grew up going to cafes where people hung out and socialized or read. Cafes with ancient couches and sticky chairs, board games and open mics. Regulars with big bellies, people who might hang out in libraries too. Cafes have turned into instagram worthy luxury spots to catch up on work. Sleep, polished wood and no pictures on the walls. I'm not against them but they're a dime a dozen these days and they're kinda purposely unwelcoming. This place is a true community gem. It's a couple blocks from USF so you'll find students cramming. And lots of folks from the neighborhood. They have free WiFi but I almost never see people working. I love coming to this spot. I typically just get a breakfast sandwich and they are affordable and absolutely delicious. The owner could easily charge five dollars more without betting and I but he keeps it reasonable. You can eat well for less than $15. With tip. I hope this place stays around for a long time. You can help it by checking it out soon!

Cute cafe with a great amount of chairs, tables and sofa. Order towards the back and the sweet man who I presume the owner is was very nice! The breakfast sandwich was delicious I'd forsure get it again. Also has ketchup to go with it. Smoothie was really good but maybe not the best for a cold San Francisco weather. Friends did get white mocha and caramel macchiato and both tasted fantastic. In total I paid around $18. They do have Wi-Fi! Wi-Fi is OK, more people working the worse wifi is especially if you're using zoom. Also has bathroom

This place is such a cute little hole in the wall spot. First of all, the music? Slaps. They playing Alisha keys and Britney, LOL. Second, the breakfast sandwiches HIT! They got a build your own option and it's just great. The service was super fast and nice. The owners really care and are kind. The food is also fresh. They squeezed like 4 oranges for my friends orange juice! They also have such a wide range of menu options, it's kinda like an all in one. If you're the type of person who likes variety, this is the SPOT! They got sandwiches, desserts, sides, soups, salads and random entrees like lasagna, which is just so funny to me. They also have a wide range of drink options, I got a chai boba tea, yum! I grabbed a few pastries as well to go to share with my family. I see some people here just on their laptops as they got free WiFi. This is a cute home-y type spot. Highly recommend!

I LOVE this cafe! Tucked away , it's always quiet and calm. There seems to always be space to study even on busy days and with the building staying as cool as it does it makes it an ideal study spot! I got the breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel with hash browns and sausage. It blew me away! It was so tasty and filling , it became two meals. I also love their bagel lox. It was $12... Something I couldn't believe I could get so cheap in SF! The man who works the front is very kind and efficient.

Sacred Grounds has been here since the 1970s maybe. The cafe has a open mic every Wednesday from 7 to close. It's on Youtube too. The menu has lots to pick from and it's not overpriced. I got a smoothie for a little less than $5. It's a quaint mom and pop cafe that feels like an old basement. Lots of space to sit around and hang out. Hayes and Cole. I never have seen this corner area until today. Review #2550

Cheese pull, breakfast bagel with sausage, bacon, and cheddar.

Great corner coffee shop. The coffee isn't anything special but it's convenient and it's hot. Plenty of creamer and sugar plus they sell other drinks like energy drinks, soda, sparkling. The service isn't much, it's seems family owned. Whenever I go for a bagel and coffee there's always these two elderly folks, so I believe it's just a nice ma and pa shop. The food is great. You get exactly what you pay for, no more no less and it's exactly what you ask. As you can see, that cheese pull surprised even me when I just randomly decided to try out of their breakfast bagels one Sunday morning. Love that it's next to the panhandle and GG park so me and my gf can stop by for a sandwich or two on the way

Sometimes you cannot tell the difference from Spring to Summer weather in San Francisco. There is no consistency when the sun will come out. When the sun comes out and Karl the Fog is on vacation people come out and look for something delicious and cold. There is one place you can enjoy a refreshing drink like matcha no matter the weather. It's located on Market street and Noe and it's called Oishii Matcha. On a sunny Market street stroll in San Francisco Don Juan de la Matcha landed at Oishii Matcha. Inside I scrolled and ordered using the kiosk. Since it was hot with the sun was out in the city I got the purple yam the Ube ice cream not on a cone but on a croffle ( part flakey croissant and waffle in SF). The Ube ice cream was not too sweet and was tasty and the croffle was soft and a bit crispy. I then had to wash it down with a refreshing Matcha Mango Latte with foam. The matcha was delicious and hit the spot . Now the only thing to consider next time is which nearby park spot I should hit to enjoy a Matcha. Will it be Dolores Park or Duboce Park or Noe & Beaver Community Garden ?( Questions in my Mind). Come get the real matcha and not the "phony"go to Oishii Matcha because it is organic ceremonial "only" so let's have a tea "ceremony" with Don Juan de La Matcha giving the true matcha "testimony" Fake matcha should be "unlawful" it is tasteless and the flavor is very "awful " at Oishii Matcha you can get the purple Ube ice cream on a "croffle" it's a cross between a flakey croissant and a "waffle"

Just a quiet marble table, a tiny vase with two yellow flowers, and a slice of matcha crepe cake that makes you forget what you were stressed about. I came in on a weekday afternoon and ordered the matcha crepe cake and a passion fruit refresher. The cake is the kind that looks almost too precise to eat. Dozens of paper thin layers stacked with the kind of patience most people reserve for things that actually matter. The matcha flavor is real, not the green tea powder imposter you get everywhere else. The drinks are thoughtful too. Not sweet for the sake of being sweet. You can tell someone actually tasted these before putting them on the menu. The space itself earns its own mention. Marble counters, natural light pouring in from the street, good music at a volume that lets you actually have a conversation. It feels like someone designed it for the experience, not the Instagram photo, which ironically makes it very photogenic. 4.7 stars on Yelp with nearly 300 reviews and I understand every single one of them.
