Long overdue review... I use to poo-poo on pūpū platters because I found it to be a unappealing brown pile of generic AZN apps but here I am salivating at crab rangoon everything on TT: dips, nachos, stuffed bread, sushi bake, egg rolls, and more... I've only gone to Dolores Deluxe for their chocolate chip cookies and/or for Basuku cheesecakes but when I saw they released a Crab Rangoon sandwich....LFG! Opening in 2022, DD started as a neighborhood corner store and in 2024 started selling creative, chef-driven sandwiches (owner is a Michelin star resto alum). Most of their sandwich fillings, spreads, and dips are housemade. The sandwich menu has a handful of seasonal specials + mainstays, along with breakfast sandwiches served all day. Seasonal specials served 10:30 am - 4 pm. No mods or subs. They also have several grab 'n go options. S A N D W I C H E S * SEASONAL - The Bergeron: Crab rangoon salad, pluot-chili relish, kohlrabi-scallion slaw, bang bang sauce, fried wontons, acme green onion slab ($19) Served hot, it had a nice creamy-crunchy contrast but too salty and acidic. IMO, it needed more cream cheese to mellow everything out. They also may have been running low on lump crab, as the filling felt much heavier on surimi. * SEASONAL - Deluxe Baguette #62: Confit Pork, duck liver mousse, lemongrass aioli, spicy pickled veggies, french butter pear + mint, acme rustic baguette ($16.50) My fav of the two - it's like a bougie bánh mì with French and Southeast AZN influences: rich, savory, and creamy but balanced by the punchy, spicy pickled vegetables and fresh mint. The duck liver mousse and confit pork made it feel extra decadent while the pear added a subtle sweetness that kept it from being too heavy. S E R V I C E Sometimes friendly, sometimes not. A M B I A N C E There's a handful of cafe tables outside. Overall, DD sells some of the most creative sandwiches in the city so keep your eyes peeled for their seasonal specials!!
Let me start with the positives. We ordered the Rainy Day Fund and Call Me Serge sandwiches. The rainy day fund sandwich was SOOO good and unique. It had a great mix of savory and sweet flavors that made me go back to the menu and read the ingredients. It was such an interesting (in a good way) combo of flavors. We also grabbed the spicy green curry potato salad. WOW. My friend and I could not stop saying yum with each bite. It's definitely spicy, but not too spicy where you can't taste anything else. I would go back for the potato salad and the rainy day fund sandwich. Also, sticking to the positives - the employees were very friendly, despite it being a scorching hot day and practically a sauna in the store. Moving to the not so positives... The Call Me Serge sandwich had way too much turkey in it. And that may be a silly thing to complain about, but it honestly made the sandwich inedible. It felt like I was taking a bite out of a big turkey breast with no other flavors coming through. If they added maybe two slices LESS of turkey, the sandwich would have been more balanced. And this is something the store probably had little control over, but it was so so so hot inside. Waiting in line to order felt like standing in a sauna. It was about 85 degrees outside, so I don't imagine it feeling like that all of the time. I think they should have made us form the line outside to keep the inside cooler. Overall a great spot that I'd go to again.

Go before 4pm for the extended menu Please keep the buffalo chicken (rainy day fund) on the permanent menu! It was incredible. Loved the pickled celery salad, medjool dates a nice touch to balance the flavors. Fantastic
Can't go wrong with double Ds. Because everyone on social media from BayAreaFoodie to EatMeSF to Gaystronomy puts their sandwich and cookie on their must-eat lists, the wife and I gave into FOMO. Fear of Mission Out. The sandwiches are in high demand. The line on a Saturday that went from the intersection, around the fridge section, to the cashier took about 15 minutes and the sandwich took another 15. Both sandwiches were filling and fresh. We got hot ones with toasted bread. The couch potato with crispy pancetta was good, but American cheesier than expected. The preferable lemon pepper chicken sandwich was bright, flavorful, and tangy, with more dimension. I don't know if it's my favorite sandwich, but certainly top five. I give them five stars, however, because everyone was unpretentious and super nice, the sandwich artist is a machine, they have unique items, and they only charge $1.25 for a can of soda. As for the fresh chocolate chip cookies, my wife liked them. I didn't understand the hype. They were fudgey and doughy, so I guess if you like eating cookie dough you'll love them. We bought enough to have one as an appetizer and one for dessert.
This place had a long line, with social media buzz all around. The menu boasted a bunch of exotic sandwich combinations, which made me super eager to try them. The inside reminded me of a classic deli you can find on the corner of any street--very welcoming. The flavors across the sandwiches were unique, something that I wouldn't find elsewhere within the city. But the vinegar chips inside of the Electric Mayhem provided a briny crunch to the already acidic tuna seasoning. The focaccia was nice and crunchy, but the sandwich was slightly overpowering with the addition of American cheese. The Deluxe Baguette was very fragrant, filled with aromatics, kind of resembling a banh mi. Although very rich, it wasn't incredibly enjoyable. The flavors felt mashed together, as the paté and seasoned pork clashed, making the overall sandwich slightly too strong. This place definitely isn't lacking flavor, but I was slightly underwhelmed, given the attention it's been getting. I would recommend the visit regardless, if you like bolder flavors and want to check out a unique spot in the city.
Such a cute stop for sandwiches! I tried The Bergeron, aka the "crab rangoon sandwich". It had all of the yummy components like savory and creamy crab filling (2/3 real crab and 1/3 imitation crab), a slight spice from their bang bang sauce+pluot chili relish, and crunch from toppings of fried wonton strips. A bit pricey for a sandwich (exactly $19) but I would understand with the real crab meat in there. It was also very rich and filling. They also have frozen slushies that you can order spiked too, great for the latest city heatwave. There are some outdoor tables you can dine at or you can bring it to Dolores Park a few blocks away. Service was nice and it took about 10 mins for my sandwich to be ready.
Busy place! We had the Lebanese caprese, Lady Giana and Call Me Serge. We called ahead for a to go order. We called about 20 min in advance and it took them 20 min to make the sandwiches. They are unable to change the time that they start assembling the sandwiches, they said, so they do all the sandwiches in order of the orders. That means really just call when you're 15-20 min from picking up your order ----- Food: - Caprese sandwich: Our friend who had it was very disappointed and she loves caprese sandwiches. Do not recommend. - Call Me Serge *** our favorite*** The call me serge was our favorite (Calabrian chili orange jam is a delight). - Lady Giana: also delicious!
Came back to try the Lady Gianna and the Market Sweep (seasonal menu) and both were excellent! The Lady Gianna is an eggplant parm, it has a layer of crispy Parmesan on top. Served hot, it's very tasty. My favorite sandwich I've had here so far! I also enjoyed the Market Sweep which is a BLT with amazing bacon and heirloom tomatoes. Also very tasty and it's on the seasonal menu so not sure how long it will be on the menu. I also tried the Okinawa sweet potato & garlic skordalia dip! It caught my eye since it's so unique. I enjoyed it, it had a lot of flavor from the garlic.
Sandwich was really good but not spectacular. I had the Deluxe Breakfast Sando and was very pleased but not overwhelmed. In their defense, I was headed to DeliBoard and got talked into this substitution. Again, superior quality, might go back - especially if looking for a park sando.
I came here for the first time a few months ago closer to when it first opened not expecting much and was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious and juicy the sandwiches are. This is a cute corner shop in sunny Mission, and it's very clean and organized inside. I was the only person there when I went early Saturday morning (although I imagine it might be busier now) and I ordered the lady Gianna, which took around 10 minutes to make. The result was a delicious juicy eggplant Parm like sandwich with a nice kick as well. The fresh basil really came through. The Portobello sandwich was also a standout. Overall, the focaccia bread has a perfect fluffiness and crunch on outside and the ingredients feel fresh. Would love to come back and keep supporting this little shop!
Ordered takeout sandwiches on Pride weekend with friends, and immediately they got points for a quick make and pickup of 6+ sandwiches! Most of us got the "Call Me Serge" which included roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar + Gouda, arugula, and a Calabrian chili orange jam, rosemary ranch, and creamy avocado-lime vinaigrette spread. It was warm and delicious! I think I would've left the arugula off next time as it tasted strong with the jam (but that's me with a sensitivity to arugula). I will definitely return to try something different to bring to my next Dolores picnic!
Ordered two seasonal sandwiches and especially enjoyed the Absolut Cinema. It was perfectly messy, flavorful, spicy and the bread was soft, chewy and delicious. The staff at Dolores Deluxe were very friendly and informative about the shop and its offerings. Best of success to Dolores Deluxe!
My sister and I visited San Fran for three days and we could have eaten here everyday! The sandwiches were delicious. The flavors were unique and paired well with each other. I had wanted to try one of their specials but it was already sold out which tells you how good it must be. The staff were friendly.
Tried the Bergeron, colloquially dubbed the crab Rangoon sandwich by the Instagram/TikTok community, and the quintessential Call Me Serge, one of their most popular sandwich varieties. Between the two, it was genuinely difficult to pick a favorite, a strong statement coming from someone who's particularly opinionated about her sandwiches. To be frank, this blows Deli Board out of the water. I'll find that sometimes sandwiches don't exceed the sum of their parts, but Dolores Deluxe does a wonderful job balancing ingredients and doesn't rely on any "dirty" sauce or "comeback" sauce or whatever indulgent sweet/spicy mayo-based concoction prefixed with whatever provocative adjective as many artisanal sandwich restaurants seem to do nowadays. It's simply an amalgam of fresh ingredients that speak for themselves. The Bergeron, for instance, includes pluots, American cheese, and a kohlrabi slaw, unique ingredients, sure, but used not in the name of gimmick but for sheer flavor. The owner is also super sweet, and I'm happy that people showed up in droves for the last day of this decently viral crab Rangoon sandwich. Will definitely be back for a Dolo sandwich picnic again. read more

Dolores Deluxe is truly a rare gem in the city! Their sandwiches are SO good and unlike anything I've had before. Every sandwich is unique, with such thoughtfully curated ingredients that somehow come together to create the most perfectly balanced flavors. Call Me Serg is always a hit and one of my favorites! But I just tried their newest Deluxe Baguette with pickled veggies, pork confit, and duck liver mousse and WOW. CHEF'S KISS The creativity is unmatched! And don't even get me started on their banana pandan pudding (okay, ALL their puddings are amazing) and chocolate chip cookie -- an absolute MUST. They also have some of the most unique snacks I've never even seen or heard of before! Ramsey is such an incredible chef and creator. You can tell how much thought and passion goes into everything. Honestly, some of these sandwiches could easily cost more considering the quality of the ingredients and craftsmanship, but they keep them so reasonably priced! If you're a foodie, you NEED to check this place out. Dolores Deluxe deserves all the love and recognition! read more

Came with my friend to try out this sandwich spot! I was especially enticed by the crab rangoon sandwich, but was so so so sad when they ran out before we reached the front of the line. We came in the early afternoon (1:30pm), so it makes sense they sold out of it! If there's a sandwich you really want to try, I'd definitely advise trying to get there earlier if you can. We ended up getting the Deluxe Baguette #62 and Call Me Serge. Both were good sandwiches! Not sure how long I would wait for each, but my friend and I didn't wait too long. They were very flavorful combinations! The Deluxe had confit and pate and seemed like a premium banh mi, while Call Me Serge was a tangy turkey sandwich. Both were quite warm and drippy. The service was great - we got free slushy samples as we waited. This is a grocery store as well so you can look at what they're selling as you wait in line. When we came the line was actually out the door and down the street! read more

I was excited to try Dolores Deluxe after hearing such great things about their sandwiches for so long, especially their take on a tuna melt. I met here with a friend, and inside is similar to a corner store. They have shelves of pantry items. There is also indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the front, and I learned that the sandwiches are prepared at a different location. I was unable to ask for a bread substitute due to this, so it is good to keep in mind that asking for changes may be difficult. I enjoyed my sandwich at the park, and it was good! The tuna had a bit of heat, and every bite had lots of flavor. It was a bit of a heavier sandwich with the oily focaccia and potato chips. I'm happy I was able to try it! read more

Fricking delicious sandwiches. Yes, TikTok brought us here. We came on sunday around noon and the line wasn't too bad. We ordered 3 different sandwiches. I believe it was the morning sandwich, lady Gianna, and the couch? All were spectacular! Lady Gianna stood out to me the most. It tasted like a pizza but in a sandwich. The eggplants were so so good. We were able to grab our sandwiches and walk over to the park within 10 minutes to enjoy them! read more
Somehow waited over an HOUR for this place. And that was just for the food, not even counting the time to actually order the food. The sandwiches are again, really creatively put together with a bunch of sauces and textures. I got the Call Me Serge, which is a hot turkey sandwich with bacon and jam and a few other condiments. Good, but definitely indulgent. For vegetarians, the vegan sando and Lady Giana (like an eggplant parm sandwich) are top hits. read more
We went around 1pm, and there was a short line! Our sandwiches were ready about 20 minutes after we ordered. We got 4 sandwiches between 4 people: - Call me Serge: everyone's favorite! The sweet chili oil really added to the flavor - Lady Gianna: excellent veg, the eggplant was sooo good - Deluxe Baguette: was disappointing, but might be because I don't like cold sandwiches. There was also potato chunks (which I didn't expect, based on the menu description!) Seating is limited but we walked to Dolores park, they also had a fun jazz band outside the restaurant read more

It sounds like the drag name of the cuckholded husband of a disgraced, dog-shooting former cabinet member. Not that I need to name names, but his 'loons are quite deluxe. Coincidentally so are the artisan sandwiches they prepare here. I kept hearing through the grapevine how good they are, so I ventured over the hill from Dolores Park to try one. There were ten different sandwiches on the menu along with all day breakfast options and a couple of quick bites. It was hard to decide because the ingredient blend of each one was quite unique with global accents. I finally decided on the $17.50 Snowdrop in Bloom, a tantalizingly eclectic mix of rotisserie chicken, Oaxacan cheese, Japanese curry, picked ginger, arugula, chrysanthemum, and diced Granny Smith apple packed in an Acme green onion slab (Photo 6). They packed it nicely, so I had it when I got home. The flavor and texture combination really worked well. The wait at this bodega (both for time to order and especially time after order) is long but worth it! I'd say food took roughly 15 min after ordering, and we were able to snag some of the limited outdoor seating. Dolores park is a short walk away so this could be enjoyed picnic style too. We got the Lady Giana, a hot eggplant parm sandwich bursting with flavor! The outside had also been pressed with crispy Parmesan on the outside. 10/10 so good. read more
We were in the neighborhood looking to spend some time at Dolores park and this spot was a quick walk away for our picnic needs. From the outside and inside this place seems like your typical corner store but the sandwiches they're serving up are anything but. They have a fridge with drinks and some take away food items. On the call me serge I loved the orange jam, it complimented all the other flavors really well. Both breads were delicious and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Another delicious sandwich in the city. Perfect place to grab lunch and head to mission Dolores park. I got the call me serge and it was so good. Everything in the sandwich complimented each other and it was large! Also don't sleep on their cookie either. Their menu looks fantastic so I'd recommend going with a friend and splitting two sandwiches so you can try two flavors. Dolores Deluxe has some interesting sandwiches here including sandwiches with pork shoulder, pulled BBQ chicken, carmelized eggplants, etc. What makes this place further unique is some of the bread options. For example, some sandwiches are served on a crunchy focaccia bread. My only critique is that the sandwiches are kind of small for the price you pay and the meat portions are small. read more
Dolores Deluxe is a great neighborhood spot that feels like more than just a sandwich shop, it's also a small market with some really tempting baked goods. It's conveniently located near Dolores Park, making it an ideal place to grab sandwiches and head over for a picnic. When I arrived, there was no line at all, but by the time I was waiting for my sandwiches, a long line had already formed, which says a lot about how popular it is. Despite the rush, they moved pretty efficiently. My sandwiches came out in about 10 minutes, and I was able to grab a table outside. The sandwiches were pretty good and filling. The chocolate chip cookie wasn't my absolute favorite, but it definitely gets bonus points for being served warm. We also tried the banana pandan pudding, which was really tasty. read more
Came by around closing time, but everything was still super fresh and honestly so good. The bread was amazing, warm, soft on the inside, with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. I got the breakfast sandwich which was delicious, and my friend ordered the turkey sandwich which they also loved. One thing to note is that they don't allow substitutions or modifications, so just be aware of that going in. It's more of a deli/grocery-style spot, so there isn't much seating, just a few tables and chairs outside. But it's super close to Dolores Park, so we usually just grab our sandwiches and head there to eat. The chocolate chip cookie was also a standout. It's more of a brown butter, dark chocolate situation, rich but really well balanced, and the perfect sweet treat after the sandwich. Since we came right before closing, they even gave us the last cookie for free, which was such a nice surprise!! The staff was friendly and made great conversation. an adorable, cozy deli nestled in a corner grocery store on dolores & 22nd! it only has a handful of outdoor tables so I'd recommend walking to dolo to enjoy your sandwich. there are many varieties, I got the deluxe breakfast sando ($13) and it was piping hot. the egg frittata was interesting and I liked the cheese combo, but I wish there was more tomato jam (which also wasn't spicy enough) or a different bread (personal preference). read more
Last time I was here the brand new toaster oven appeared eager to show what it can do and my sandwich got a bit more toast than planned. This time I ordered Ode to Barber to pay my respect to Lebanese culture and this sandwich reset my taste buds. This was genuinely the best sandwich I had in San Francisco - it recalibrated my sandwich standards. The rotisserie chicken was cut thick and tender, seasoned with restraint to allow the texture to shine. ***The greens and Lebanese pickles! **** Ramzi, the owner, humbly described the additions as "simple" (lemon, parsley, garlic). The combination was in fact the quiet architecture that made the sandwich the best sandwich I had in SF. - the greens: sautéed just enough to collapse into chicken - toum: definitely had lemon juice in addition to garlic but both were very subtle and just enhanced the greens and chicken - Lebanese pickles: brighter and more elegant than German kosher pickles which I usually swear by. These are clean and crisp and really sharpen the rotisseries chicken. I also love the pickle texture in general. - crispy potatoes add crispiness + saltiness - Acme green onion slab complements the entire sandwich architecture. Most importantly - Ramzi pours heart and thoughtfulness into these sandwiches. It shows - I noticed people commuting from other neighborhoods just to order a sandwich to go. A hole in the wall sandwich shop in a corner store! We got to try one of their best sellers, Call me Serge, which is a roast turkey melt on acme bread. We also got their recommendation for a cold sandwich, Thai dye shirt, with prosciutto cotto. Both were good sandwiches, albeit both were a bit too sweet for my liking. The Call me Serge sandwich tasted mostly like the chili orange jam. The ingredients were fresh though, having nice quality turkey, cheese, and greens. It was a unique sandwich, with many flavors going on at once. The bread had a nice crunch but was a tad oily. The Thai dye shirt sandwich was a nice contrast as a cold sandwich - a bit smaller in size but a finer balance of flavors. There was an overwhelming amount of grapefruit which made that sandwich sweet as well, but I appreciate the generous amount - it's nice to have on the side! Sandwiches took around 15 minutes for a Friday around lunch time. Nice to try this spot, but these sandwiches had a bit too much complexity for my liking. read more

The staff are super friendly and the cozy setup makes it easy to grab a great sandwich along with drinks, snacks, dried goods, and even a bottle of wine (bonus points: they have a wine club!). I tried the "Call Me Serge" on recommendation as their best seller, and it did not disappoint as it hit all the right notes - savory, sweet (the orange was such a pleasant surprise!), creamy, and crunchy (acme focaccia is one of my absolute favorites along with Dutch Crunch), while the arugula added a peppery, slightly bitter edge that cut through the richness. I think the cat's out of the bag, Dolores Deluxe is one of the best bodega sandwiches in the city! And it deserves that title, it channel's personal memories to some terrific sandwiches I've had at unsuspecting corner stores in New York. The call me surge was mind blowing. The taste of the sweet and spicy calabrian chili orange jam took the sandwich to another level. If you're planning a trip to Dolores anytime soon, it's worth a trip up those steep hills.
