It sounds like the drag name of the cuckholded husband of a disgraced, dog-shooting former cabinet member. Not that I need to name names, but his 'loons are quite deluxe. Coincidentally so are the artisan sandwiches they prepare here. I kept hearing through the grapevine how good they are, so I ventured over the hill from Dolores Park to try one. There were ten different sandwiches on the menu along with all day breakfast options and a couple of quick bites. It was hard to decide because the ingredient blend of each one was quite unique with global accents. I finally decided on the $17.50 Snowdrop in Bloom, a tantalizingly eclectic mix of rotisserie chicken, Oaxacan cheese, Japanese curry, picked ginger, arugula, chrysanthemum, and diced Granny Smith apple packed in an Acme green onion slab (Photo 6). They packed it nicely, so I had it when I got home. The flavor and texture combination really worked well. FOOD - 4 stars...truly unique sandwich with global personality AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...basically a compact neighborhood bodega with three sidewalk tables SERVICE - 4 stars...efficient (about ten minutes) and personable TOTAL - 4 stars..."Ladies & Gentlemen, Miss Dolores Deluxe!" Dolores Deluxe is a quick walk from Dolores Park so the perfect place to grab some sandwiches, drinks and snacks for a park picnic. They have very unique and creative sandwiches, they have a selection of classic sandwiches and seasonal sandwiches that change every so often. On a nice sun day at 12:30, there was a bit of a line. They limit the number of people in the store so it doesn't get crowded. The shop has some premade dessert puddings, dips and other refrigerated items. They also have snacks, drinks, condiments, pantry items, and even some everyday household items (toothpaste, medicine, cleaning supplies). I got the Call Me Sarge sandwich. It had turkey, bacon, white cheddar & gouda, Calabrian chili orange jam, and arugula on Acme focaccia. It was pretty good but didn't blow me away. Definitely will come back to try more of their sandwiches so I can find my favorite!

We were in the neighborhood looking to spend some time at Dolores park and this spot was a quick walk away for our picnic needs. From the outside and inside this place seems like your typical corner store but the sandwiches they're serving up are anything but. They have a fridge with drinks and some take away food items. As well as some pantry items and snacks. The sandwiches I tried were everything I hoped for. Packed with layers of flavor each complimenting each other. I loved the diverse options but it definitely made it hard to choose. We needed up going with Call Me Serge and Electric Mayhem. The electric was my fav but I'm always a sucker for a tuna melt. On the call me serge I loved the orange jam, it complimented all the other flavors really well. Both breads were delicious and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Overall made for the perfect picnic!

Was super excited to try this place out but ended up being a little disappointed as everything we were hoping to order was either sold out by 9:30a, wouldn't be ready until 10:30a. With limited options I decided to share the deluxe breakfast sando with a friend. While the sandwich was good, I wish they put a little more tomato jam to cut through the creaminess of the omelette and cheeses a little more and wish there was another ingredient or something that made this sandwich feel "deluxe". Will have to come back and try again next time I'm in town. But they did have some of the best blueberries I have tried!

Last time I was here the brand new toaster oven appeared eager to show what it can do and my sandwich got a bit more toast than planned. This time I ordered Ode to Barber to pay my respect to Lebanese culture and this sandwich reset my taste buds. This was genuinely the best sandwich I had in San Francisco - it recalibrated my sandwich standards. The rotisserie chicken was cut thick and tender, seasoned with restraint to allow the texture to shine. ***The greens and Lebanese pickles! **** Ramzi, the owner, humbly described the additions as "simple" (lemon, parsley, garlic). The combination was in fact the quiet architecture that made the sandwich the best sandwich I had in SF. - the greens: sautéed just enough to collapse into chicken - toum: definitely had lemon juice in addition to garlic but both were very subtle and just enhanced the greens and chicken - Lebanese pickles: brighter and more elegant than German kosher pickles which I usually swear by. These are clean and crisp and really sharpen the rotisseries chicken. I also love the pickle texture in general. - crispy potatoes add crispiness + saltiness - Acme green onion slab complements the entire sandwich architecture. Most importantly - Ramzi pours heart and thoughtfulness into these sandwiches. It shows - I noticed people commuting from other neighborhoods just to order a sandwich to go. What an amazing and above all authentic addition to this neighborhood. Dolores Deluxe is on my permanent rotation list as of today.

Owner was super friendly and loved the curated items at the market! Went at ~3pm on weekend, no line and sandos in stock! - Call me serge : loved the crunchy focaccia and how it was served hot! Nice quality ingredients! I personally liked the orange Calabrian jam in this, adds a nice dimension and i appreciated the ratio of arugula

A hole in the wall sandwich shop in a corner store! We got to try one of their best sellers, Call me Serge, which is a roast turkey melt on acme bread. We also got their recommendation for a cold sandwich, Thai dye shirt, with prosciutto cotto. Both were good sandwiches, albeit both were a bit too sweet for my liking. The Call me Serge sandwich tasted mostly like the chili orange jam. The ingredients were fresh though, having nice quality turkey, cheese, and greens. It was a unique sandwich, with many flavors going on at once. The bread had a nice crunch but was a tad oily. The Thai dye shirt sandwich was a nice contrast as a cold sandwich - a bit smaller in size but a finer balance of flavors. There was an overwhelming amount of grapefruit which made that sandwich sweet as well, but I appreciate the generous amount - it's nice to have on the side! Sandwiches took around 15 minutes for a Friday around lunch time. Nice to try this spot, but these sandwiches had a bit too much complexity for my liking.

Dolores Deluxe is a cute little neighborhood market. The staff are super friendly and the cozy setup makes it easy to grab a great sandwich along with drinks, snacks, dried goods, and even a bottle of wine (bonus points: they have a wine club!). I tried the "Call Me Serge" on recommendation as their best seller, and it did not disappoint as it hit all the right notes - savory, sweet (the orange was such a pleasant surprise!), creamy, and crunchy (acme focaccia is one of my absolute favorites along with Dutch Crunch), while the arugula added a peppery, slightly bitter edge that cut through the richness. Will definitely be back to try their seasonal and breakfast offerings, which all sounded delicious!

I think the cat's out of the bag, Dolores Deluxe is one of the best bodega sandwiches in the city! And it deserves that title, it channel's personal memories to some terrific sandwiches I've had at unsuspecting corner stores in New York. The call me surge was mind blowing. The taste of the sweet and spicy calabrian chili orange jam took the sandwich to another level. If you're planning a trip to Dolores anytime soon, it's worth a trip up those steep hills. Trust me!

Call meserge was tasty I loved the melted cheese and lime taste. The other sandwich was not my favorite I believe it was the lady Giana which was recommended by the worker it was almost too heavy / repetitive the taste for my liking just my opinion. Gr8 service and fresh+ high quality ingredients

Great little corner store I had driven by many times and finally had an opportunity to stop in. A pretty big food menu for such a small store. I ordered the Lady Giana that I heard about from a friend, and went with Call Me Serge. The sandwiches are served warm and have a hefty amount of filling. We enjoyed Lady Giana, there was a lot of eggplant that was spilling out of the side. It's squishy, cheesy and warm - very comforting. Call Me Serge was good not great for us - the chili orange jam overpowered the savory sauces and felt too sweet. The service was very friendly and it seems like a great place to regularly visit if you live in the neighborhood. I will try the spicy tuna melt next time!

Dolores Deluxe usually has a line out the door, but we visited around 3:30 on a Sunday when it was less busy. The sandwich shop is located inside of a convenience store, with just a few tables out in front. So many menu items sounded enticing, and I chose the Call Me Serg (no bacon). This was totally worth the hype! First off, the focaccia was incredible - so fresh, great texture. The flavors in the sandwich were unique and went together so well, especially the calabrian chili orange jam and avocado-lime vinaigrette. I finished half immediately, and the other half was still delicious the next day. Service was friendly and reasonably fast. Can't wait to return and try more sandwiches!

The "Slightly Kawabunga" is a delicious hot sandwich. The portobello mushroom is sweet and juicy, and the overall flavor reminds you of eating a pizza. The crunch from the ACME bread ties everything together perfectly. The cashier was friendly as well. The sandwich might leak because of its juices and I would definitely go back for it again!

Normally, this store type would rate a four for me but I was happily surprised with my interaction with the cashier who was very laid back and cordial. After wishing him a nice weekend, he surprisingly replied with enthusiasm, "You too!". When I'm able to leave a business with a smile and a warm heart, the fifth star is earned in my book.
