I wouldn't say I'm much of a burger fan but heard I had to try the smashburger here so we came around 6pm and waited ~45 min for a table for 4. They call you when the table is ready so we were free to walk around. For the smashburgers, they have a beef and a vegetarian patty version, both with 2 patties, double cheese, pickles, and onion. No substitutions but trust me we all got the og burger and it was delicious. Loved the crispy patties with a nice charred edge. I think this may have changed my mind about smashburgers entirely, it was that good. We also got the crispy brussel sprouts to share (on a bed of goat cheese for extra flavor) and the mushroom pizza. I liked the variety of mushrooms they use which gave the pizza a nice earthiness. I'm not a huge fan of white pizzas though so I thought it could have used an extra boost of flavor but for detroit style thicker crust pizza, this was solid. read more

I've had their bagels and they were comparable to really good, chewy NY bagels. So we had high expectations for their Detroit pizza and double cheese burgers. We waited in line for about 50 minutes and landed on bar seating. Service was efficient and accommodating. * * * O U R P I C K S * * * DOUBLE PATTY, DOUBLE CHEESE ~ shrettuce, pickles, onions and French-style potato salad. This was juicy, but it was missing tomatoes and more lettuce and onions. Just felt heavy and greasy, because it was double meat and double cheese. It needed some freshness from extra vegetables to make it cleaner tasting. I tasted the pickles in between the patties, but it still didn't cut the greasiness. The buns were a bit too soft and they didn't seem toasted, so while holding it, it became smooshed. Potato salad was ok, though I'd probably prefer fries with ketchup. It's half-cut roaster potatoes with a bland dressing, because the potatoes are big pieces. If they were cut smaller, you'll taste the dressing more than just potatoes. 3.5/5 SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS PIZZA ~ fennel sausages, Jimmy Nardello pepper cream, pearl peppers, mozzarella, & red sauce. This was ok. Crust was crispy, but the pizza bread was more dense than we would have liked. The Jimmy Nardello pepper cream sauce on top was heavy and it was too saucy for us. Mozzarella had a good cheese pull and was good. But like the burger, it felt heavy. Needed more acidity to balance and lighten the load. 3.5/5 I guess on Wednesday nights, people don't mind waiting an hour for the burgers. If it had sliced tomatoes and more lettuce, it would have been much better. But for $15, they should have the essentials to make a good burger. As for the pizza, maybe we chose the wrong one for us. The pizza crust is the highlight. It's really really good and they clearly know bread since their bagels are also excellent (see my previous review). Eating there is not for me- I'm not a fan of lines or rushed eating and the 60 minute time limit makes sense since they are busy but not my jam. The pizza sauce is pretty blah- a bit too thin and acidic, it isn't horrible but definitely not my favorite. No substitutions or modifications on the pizzas. Overall I do think the crust would make me consider getting take out again but everything else was just ok I will say that the bagels are really excellent if you can get them warm. Once they cool down and if you eat them later (room temp or toasted) it's a solid bagel but it's really only worth a special trip in my opinion if they are hot and fresh read more

I can't believe I've never tried the laundromat in all my years in San Francisco but I finally got the chance to you over the weekend and I must say that it's a bit overhyped. There was a small line when I went in the morning around 10 but it moved pretty quickly, and I got a few different bagels to sample including pumpernickel and everything bagels. The spread was really fantastic. I got the Calabrian chili one end it had a great kick. will still being super smooth to spread. The look and feel of both the bagels and spread reminds me of pop bagels in New York but the flavor and texture of the bagels is a little less good. (This one felt more tough to chew through/split). I'm glad this neighborhood has a bagels spot, though I prefer Boichik and Bones Bagels over this one personally. The staff was friendly and the store is small but clean! read more

The Laundromat is a charming, cozy spot with mismatched decor, 10/10 food, but unfortunately rushed service. The crispy Brussels were delicious. The tartness of the apple cider vinegar cut through the richness of the goat cheese perfectly. The pepperoni pizza had the ideal balance between crispy and moist, and the olive oil cake was a fantastic way to end the meal. Sadly, the whole dining experience felt extremely rushed. We were still mid-meal when our waiter asked to box up our food. At one point, my friend was mid-bite into her pizza when the server collected her plate and napkin. Really cute pizza spot on Balboa! From a distance, I was like, "Is this a popular laundry hour or something?" until I saw the subtext advertising their pizza and bagels underneath. Came on a Saturday around 6PM and had a pretty short 30-40 minute wait, in which we got some boba from Purple Kow nearby. Our group of 7 was pretty hungry so we ordered five pizzas (and some brussels sprouts) which was way too much. Brussels were really good, goat cheese and balsamic is a tried and true combo. Nice crisp on the surface. Sausage pizza was definitely my favorite, really rich and acidic tomato sauce that paired with the sweet drop peppers. Perfectly balanced bites all around. Really nice crust. The rest of the pizzas were pretty good, but I felt like lacking that something special (although the crust on all of them were great). The maitake in the mushroom pizza was great, but I felt like it was somewhat overpowered by the cheese (of which there was a LOT). The vodka sauce margherita didn't lean strongly enough into the vodka sauce for me, and tasted more like just a red sauce with some cream. New to the neighborhood and still pretty new to San Francisco, we kept hearing about burger night at The Laundromat, so we decided to check it out. We originally put our name on the list and were quoted about a 1.5 hour wait, but we hopped in the bar line and ended up seated within about 15 minutes. The bar area was a little tight and could've used a little more awareness from guests scooting down, but the staff was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving. The cocktails and wine selection were both solid, and the vinyl spinning in the background gave the place a great atmosphere. From a food standpoint, the burger has the bones of being an excellent burger. The bun was well chosen, the patties were cooked properly with a good crust, and the combination of lettuce, onions, pickles, special sauce, and American cheese worked really well together without trying too hard. Overall the balance was there. My only critique was the seasoning. Mine was very heavy handed with the salt, and after trying my partner's burger too, both leaned saltier than they needed to. The potato salad was good and honestly could've used a little more seasoning, We finished with a cannoli that was excellent. Not overly sweet, with a great crispy shell and nice balance to the filling. The meat was good; the cheese was good; all of it was good. The potatoes were okay, not my favorite. The crispy brussels were delicious. I loved the addition of cheese, and the brussels were cooked and seasoned well. It was a heavy dish, but I would highly recommend it, especially if you like brussels sprout and cheese. I finally got to try their smashburgers on wednesday nights! I drove past there around 4:55pm and saw a long line down the block, when I finished finding parking (which was not terrible) it was around 5:05pm, we got seated at the bar since all tables were already taken. We ordered the crispy brussels sprouts as an appetizer to share, and the taste was incredible. It was also cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and not too soft or hard in the inside. I got the smashburger - the meat patty was perfect, it had crispy edges and it was seasoned well. I like the concept of shrettuce because it's easier to chew through than just a whole lettuce piece. The french potatoes on the side were also delicious! I thought the bun got really soggy very quickly though, within two minutes of my meal I had to switch from picking up my burger to eating it with a fork and knife. We ordered the smashburger which came with double patty, onions, and cheese. I think the double patty may have been much, it was very hearty and meaty. DONT GET ME WRONG THO, it's still a really good burger!! I scarfed it down so fast. I just didn't think there was anything special about it, just taste like a smash burger. What made it special and I'm giving the points on is the potato salad! It was SOOOO good and tbh I put that potato salad sauce on the burger and damn that was the move. Really disappointed with my experience tonight. I've been going here for bagels for years and they're my favorite bagel in the city, so I thought it's about time to try their pizza and smash burgers. We got there about 30 minutes before opening and the line wasn't bad although there were 2 lines forming since the signage wasn't clear. When they opened they offered everyone in front of us the high top table. There were still some available but they didn't offer them to us and sat us at the bar where they proceeded to stuff as many people in until we were elbow to elbow. We were the first people at the bar to order and we watched every outdoor and indoor table get their food before us. An employee came around to let the bar know there was an issue with the printer and our food would be out soon. They served everyone at the bar food before us even someone who sat down and ordered 20 minutes after us. I thought maybe because we order one pizza and one burger they want to bring them out together. Mind you the person who came after us sent their burger back and got a new one before we got any food. The couple next to us also ordered a burger and pizza and got their burger first before getting their pizza. I tried this place for the first time this past week after hearing raving reviews about it for about a year or so. My friend and I were seated at a high table after waiting for 30 minutes during a weekday dinnertime. Their menu had such a cute aesthetic! My friend and I settled on their Mushroom Combo pizza. The pizza took a bit longer than expected for it to come out, but it was worth the wait. The pizza is in a rectangular shape that is split in six pre-cut slices. The mushrooms were delicious, as they were earthy, juicy, and not-soggy. Daughter said I had to try the smashburger which is only served on Wednesday nights. Mondays and Tuesdays are closed. So off we went and she said it is so popular we need to get there early before they open at 5 for dinner. She said she was going to get in line at 4:30. Sam's, Beep's, Bill's, Louie's, Spruce. And this place has been hyped about pizzas and bagels too. I've had their bagels too and they are good, but I have two bagel go-to's for me which are closer and reflect more NY Style bagels for me. So my daughter was right. At 4:30 she was second in line but by 4:50 the line was to the end of the block and only heat lamp outside seating was available for those near the end of the line. Now you can imagine seating happens pretty fast so I would not hesitate to decide what you want or else you won't get your food that quickly. As we were the third or fourth table to order our burgers came out almost instantaneously even before our salad. There are no alterations allowed (they don't ask how you want it cooked or if you want anything on the side). I heard one lady try to do that and the waitress said no. My sense is they have those burgers and plates ready to go like a cafeteria line. I should mention there is a meatless option. Well I liked the burger and would put it right up there with the others mentioned. Actually more than Sam's. I also liked the French -style potato salad which were a nice touch over fries. Have to say that a couple of my companions were cold on the potatoes and referred to the burger as salty. Heck though, this my review. I've been here in the AM for bagels and on a Wednesday night for the smash burgers. Bagels are 10/10 but wish they had smaller containers of cream cheese instead of the big tubs. The big tubs are shareable which is nice but not when you want to get different flavors or just don't need left over cream cheese. The cream cheese situation keeps me from coming here and finding alternatives... but despite that the bagels are delicious! The smash burgers were also a hit! They come with a potato salad which we very yummy. We did wait about 45 minutes and the line just kept growing so he prepared to wait :) I tried the tinto de verano and would not recommend at all, it just tasted like grape soda. Foodie alert!! The Laundromat is a must. It's craveable. It's insanely delicious. It's a neighborhood feel good spot. They specialize in bagels that absolutely will make me come back and try them. Pizza is their second specialty, but by no means it takes away from how delicious everything is. They've unlocked the door to the secret success of the perfect Smash burger. It's crispy edges, juicy inside, gooey cheese, all on a perfect bun. Sadness alert, the burgers are only available on Wednesdays. Diners tip: Get there early! The line is long, and seating is limited. What makes the burger even more unique, is that it's not served with typical fries. It served with house made potato salad. The potato salad is not the typical backyard barbecue nonsense, it's small new potatoes, with this very light tasty sauce that somehow pulls it all together, and you wish that they would have given you more. Literally the best bagel I've ever had. It's such an unassuming place, but it should be considered and SF staple if it isn't already. I ordered an everything bagel with the smoked salmon spread and my bf ordered the everything egg bagel with the calabrian chili spread. Wow. Such a great breakfast. The bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but not thick and cakey like storebought ones. The literal perfect bagel texture. The spreads are also so good. The smoked salmon was amazing. And I'm a big smoked salmon spread fan, so trust me when I say this was great. And my bf loved the chili one as a spicy food lover. After a looooong break, my girlfriend and I finally had the opportunity to stop by here again. The vibes are still immaculate (vinyl that was spinning was so good - one of my favorite albums of the year) and the pizza is still top notch : my girlfriend and I shared an order of the 31 Special and the Broccoli Rabe with a side of Truffle Honey and House ranch. The 31 special was exceptional - of the three sauces on the pie the vodka sauce definitely stood out the most to me. The broccoli rabe was solid as ever. In terms of condiments for the pizzas, the truffle honey was pretty wild. I'm not sure if they make it in house but it definitely doesn't skimp out on the truffle flavor and it tasted great with both pizzas we got. We also finally got to trying the Crispy Brussels (Thank you Mijin ) and they were phenomenal. The sprouts themselves were browned/ crisped to perfection, they paired super well with the goat cheese and the apple cider reduction (this was a highlight - an almost addictive flavor) I still highly recommend this place and have nothing but praise for The Laundromat - one of my favorite pizza spots in the city. Wow I had no idea an end of day bagel could still taste so soft and fresh! I went ten minutes before they closed to prep for dinner and they still had about two dozen plain and everything bagels left. I got 6 everything with a container of the calabrese spicy cream cheese! This review is for their bagels only. I stopped by Sunday at noon to finally try this place out. Ended up picking up cinnamon raisin, everything, plain, sea salt, and poppyseed bagels. They do a seasonal schmear (not sure how often this changes) so I got their current one which was strawberry plus the smoked salmon w/ dill flavor. Half dozen plus the 2 schmears came out to ~$30. My favorite bagels were the everything and cinnamon raisin although every single bagel had very good chew. The salt bagel was a little too intense for me, but my friend liked it a lot. Whatever bagels were leftover maintained the same quality for 24 hours after purchasing before drying out. Both schmears were very addictive. Not sure if it is to incorporate the ingredients more evenly, but they seemed whipped. At first, I was shocked at the price of each tub, but these are flavored phenomenally and I still have half of each flavor after finishing the bagels. I would love to return to try the smashburgers and pizza! read more

They really are that girl. I love everything about this place. Bagels in the morning, pizza at night, and burgers on Wednesday. The bagels are best taken home if you'd like the fix them up/ toast them. The pizza with the TRUFFLE HONEY!! 10/10. amazing. This place is the exact level of whimsical that I like. The Brussels sprouts was so good! It was sweet and savory! We got the sausage pizza and we loved how piping hot it came and sooo good as well. The peppers were a nice touch! Pretty decent bagels! I will say that something that kind of threw me off is the difference in quality between all three bagels we got: We tried the everything bagel, the cinnamon raisin, and the salt bagel. The salt bagel was literally so hard as to be *almost* inedible (but we powered through). The cinnamon bagel was a good amount of soft & fluffy but was still kind of chewy at the end of the day. The everything bagel was literally delectable, perfectly made, the perfect amount of crispy, crunch, and soft/fluffy. I would kill to have the everything bagel again. Both of the cream cheeses we got (regular and calabrian chili) were good, though I would say the calabrian chili wasn't particularly standout. I would come back to try their strawberry cream cheese. Bagels are good, comparable to some spots in New York and probably excellent for the West Coast but nothing to call home about. If each bagel we had was as good as the everything bagel, we'd have a different story. read more

Came here on a Wednesday around 5:20pm and the bar line was really long. I asked the friendly servers inside the bustling restaurant and they said it'd take at least 45mins to get a seat. I signed up for 'any' table and gave them my number as well. It took one hour to get a table for two outside, which is a few feet away from the front of the line. Saw a sign and realized it's Hamburger night. Maybe that's why there's such a long line? We wanted and ordered the vodka margarita pizza and crispy brussel sprouts, which came first - we devoured it. The melted goat cheese underneath the dense chewy brussel sprouts made it creamy, too. The rectangular Detroit style pizza has six slices. I had one and was full. My daughter had two. Like most everyone, we had to take the rest in a box. (Still turned out yummy after zapping it in the air fryer the next day. ) Gotta try the burgers next time, hopefully inside to check out the vibe...and stand in line before it opens! read more
