They were tender and smoky, as if they were steamed first and then finished off on the grill. The meat fell off the bone and the flavors were a good balance of sweet, salt and spice. The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. Stepping through the door you wouldn't know the place was under new management if you didn't check the name on the door. Same decor, same layout, same everything except the logos/art. It's a nice place to swing by for a good beer. I hope they do well so that they expand the list of taps to a larger selection (they have the infrastructure, just not the kegs).

The fish was fresh and crispy and if you like it sour like some in SF you can add the vinegar and do the performative extra lemon squeeze.
