Popped in here recently one night while cutting across "town". Dropped in, had a great cocktail, and sat down to chill. I've been to this place many times, and it's a warm-up spot for me for shows at The Independent. We settled right in. Friendly folks and great cocktails. This was the first time in a long time that I had eaten here - but they were serving pizza late-night, and we were more than pleasantly surprised how fresh and tasty it was. On Saturday's in the city, this is one of our favorite stops while on a long walk with dogs, mostly because our favorite bartender Claire is playing throwback jams and great vibes I've been coming to fly for years, and the go to order doesn't change. Topo Chico hard seltzer. They got an all day deal for $6 espolon tequila shots as well when you buy a drink. I've tried a lot of their food too with my favorites being the tuna melt, wings, and nachos. They've got a pretty interesting menu that also includes dips, pizzas and other sandwiches. The best part of this spot is that they are dog friendly. Claire always has some treats for the dogs so they stopping here as well. Plenty of TVs so great for watching your favorite Bay Area sports team. In the back area of the bar they have more seating with extra TVs and when it's not busy they gladly put on weekend golf for us to watch. The only thing I wish they had was a fryer. The sandwiches and other items would pair so well with some fries and it's something we'd order more often if they had it. Went for trivia night! It was fun and well put together. They could have gone a little faster when asking the questions. Got there at 7pm for the 7:30pm start time and left at 10pm. Nice cozy bar with table seating and a lot of room . The menu is delicious highlights for me were the artichoke dip as well as the baked Brie . The portions are fair and the service is excellent!! The bartenders are knowledgeable, polite and extremely fast and efficient. Full bar with fair prices. A very local feel as a lot of folks seemed like they have known eachother for a bit and everyone seemed very nice . A very pleasant spot I think it would be good for a date . My boyfriend and I came on a Monday night to partake in their Bingo night event (every Monday from 7-9 pm). It looks like they also have Trivia night (Tuesday 7:30 pm), Wings Wednesday (50% off wings), and Mon - Fri Happy Hour from 2 pm to 6 pm. We had a really fun time! The bar and its patrons had a very chill and friendly vibe. Staff, bartenders, etc were all so nice and attentive! The bar was also clean without any sticky tables haha. We ordered a few drinks (I forgot exactly which ones but they were tasty)! I did end up ordering a La Tortillo salad with chicken which I kid you not.. is probably one of the best salads I've ever had. Everything in the salad was so yummy and all the fixings worked really well together! I would def checking this place out for a chill evening! Truly, truly, truly terrible bartender. Older man with short gray hair, gray stubble and wearing a baseball cap. Ignored the two of us over and over and over, although we were sitting at the bar and it wasn't crowded. Served at least 5 people who obviously came in after us although we were very, very clearly trying to get his attention. Refused to start a tab for each of us and just took one credit card. Again, we were sitting at the bar. Was extremely rude and obnoxious when I had a question about the menu. Food mediocre. It's not usually busy, not overly loud, and people are friendly and easy-going. Love the Divisadero area, there is so much to do around here and the vibes are high. This is in a great location and a perfect little pit stop if you are looking for cheap food and a drink! The food was great for how cheap it was. I paid 13$ for a good chicken sandwich on crispy toasted bread and a small side Cesar salad that came with the food. Fly dranks, bartenders, and vibes. Laidback but trendy neighborhood bar on diviz. This is a good size bar with plenty of seating, table tops, tvs, and a pool table. I love the local artwork displayed and the lights everywhere. It really livens up the moody space. This is a casual spot to grab a bite and drinks. They have a nice selection of can drinks/seltzers, a fun cocktail menu, and decent food menu (it's a bar). Fly Bar is easily one of my boyfriend and I's favorite bars in the city. One of the main reasons we frequent this spot is for the $6 "add shot to any drink" special. They offer 3 different shot options and espolon tequila is one of them. A freaking steal! Not only do we love the drink special, but the bartenders are soooo nice, another reason we keep coming back. Oh! and our dogs can come here with us. Love that. I've also dabbled into a few food items. They have solid buffalo wings. SF Trivia hosts free bingo on Monday nights. Trivia nights are on Tuesdays. Loved the laid back, casual atmosphere with retro quirky "fly" posters/decor on the walls. Lots of seating available on a Sunday evening, a single pool table inside, friendly helpful service, and the strong cocktails. Of course we came here hungry, and the funky chicken pizza and buffalo wings did not disappoint. Cheesy, flavorful slices with a sweet bbq sauce and a nice balance of toppings (we even added prosciutto to the pizza). It was yummy! I had seen this place hosting Monday night Bingo and wanted to check it out. I wish the signage was a little more apparent, since I couldn't tell if I was in the right place or if they were even having Bingo. It's hosted by SFTrivia, and isn't the flashiest but a fun weeknight activity. They have multiple rounds and prizes including fun drinks and some giveaways. We got the Austin Mule and Act Right (sangria). I loved the mule and it had the perfect kick and was definitely strong enough. They have a selection of pizzas and appetizers. We didn't end up getting any of the food, but it also didn't look or smell all that appealing. I might come back for Bingo night, but not just for the food or drinks. read more

We came for the trivia night on Tuesdays at 7:30pm. Be warned - it's ridiculously hard trivia. This is not just trivia you can cheat and google on your phone either. Mixed with a couple of drinks, our group got 12th place. But, the drinks are decently priced and we had a great time! We had sake bombs, sangria and a few mixed drinks and the tab was surprisingly low. Heavy pours and fun times overall! They also now have bingo nights on Monday, which requires no obscure knowledge and sounds more down my alley. Great little place on Divis! It's unclear online, but they have a significantly reduced food and drink menu (still good options though). There is also awesome seating outside - there are 2-person tables along the side of the restaurant as well as bigger tables in the covered seating area on the street. My husband and I had an awful experience at this place. We came in with a few friends. A random man made a few weird comments to us including telling us to stay awake. We were a bit confused by the comment and then he transitioned behind the bar and became the bartender. We tried to ask follow up questions on what he meant, but he was adamant I was sleeping at the table. When my husband question this, the man at the bar said: get your bitch of a wife out of my face. I went to this place for bingo night and it was hosted by SF trivia. The bar was interesting and had plenty of spots to sit. There was a pool table and several TVs to watch the game.It had a good balance of activities and bar which would allow for a wide variety of night outs at this bar All the meanwhile I got two custom cocktails which were the Austin Mule and Act Right. Both were pretty great drinks and were relatively strong. The Act Right was a sangria cocktail which was a good mix. However they were slightly pricey for the quantity. I've been going to fly bar for years but haven't visited in awhile. Recently stopped by to meet some friends for happy hour. While the food was great (discounted pizza for the win) and drinks weren't bad, the service was horrible. I felt like I was a bother and annoyance to the bartender when all I was doing was asking questions and ordering. I'm guessing it's more of a regular spot and forget about newbies. Oh well. Bought a brunch special from GroupOn for $45 total (for 2 people) on a Sunday which included unlimited mimosas for 2 and 2 brunch plates from the menu! Thought it was a really great deal. Food wasn't anything out of this world, but it definitely hit the spot. The mimosas were good - tasted like a 50:50 mix of champagne and orange juice. My partner had the hash, which was great and I had a breakfast that had 2 eggs, bacon, and toast - which both were good and seasoned well. The bar itself isn't too big, only saw 2 TVs (not many for a 'sports bar'). But there is a pool table in the back. We went around 12:30PM on a Sunday in Nov and there weren't many people (no wait) when we first got there, but definitely filled in a bit more around 1PM. Also, the service was attentive + super nice. It wasn't very busy, so we easily grabbed a table across from the bar. *Sauvignon Blanc: dry creek - sonoma ($8) *Pinot Grigio: scarbolo - italy ($9) *Chips & Dip: tortilla chips with house-made guacamole & salsa ($6) Only two of us were drinking, so the other ordered food. I got the sauvignon blanc which I thought was okay. My gf hated her glass of pinot grigio. I didn't like it either when I tried it, but because I can't waste alcohol, I ended up finishing it. I don't remember trying the chips and dips, but they looked pretty standard. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. I used to come here all the time over a decade ago as one of my coworkers loved the happy hour here. I remember their pizzas being good and a great deal.
