I first noticed Napper Tandy a few years ago while walking by and thought I should check it out sometime. I wish I had gone in right away, because it has become a favorite destination for me! The staff is always friendly and attentive. I sit at the bar, and more often than not engage in conversations with the others there. It's a friendly place like that. It's not super noisy and there's always several televisions to watch various sports on if you're feeling like being more chill. But the real reason to go is the food. I came across this Irish pub while out on a walk this past weekend and am so glad I stopped in. I had a Bloody Mary, and it was absolutely delicious. I saw several food orders come out to other customers, and everything looked amazing. The portions were very generous for the price. I also noticed they offer brunch, which is definitely something I'll have to come back and try with my girls. So hungry, .friend and I rushed into Nappers for lunch. But, forgot Napper has been extremely busy due to World Cup and yes at 11:30a it was already packed. We were able to get a table next to the bar and immediately were served our fav Champagne (Mums). I ordered Lasagne w/ salad and this is a specialty that is not served often. I was starving an decided to try a food delivery which I don't do. So I went with Napper Tandy never been there but their pictures and descriptions looked inviting. I got the Ruben which I didn't realize came with some fat French fries so I ordered the onion rings . I definitely was not sorry the onion rings were delicious crisp nd nice came with a ranch sauce I believe. The Ruben was nice and cheesy full of Robert's corn beef which was the seller for me. The fries looked nice but not too special in any way but the Ravens will love them so that's fine. The Box with the Ruben was nicely wrapped and everything was delivered as promised. Came here to watch one of the FIFA matches recently and it was packed! So lucky that my friend was able to reserve us some seats all the way in the back. I got some jalapeño poppers and they were soooo good! Filled with cream cheese and the breading was just perfect. I understand the service being the way it was due to it being packed, but my order still arrived in a timely manner and I was pleased :) would definitely like to try other veggie items on their menu next time. read more

You'd think an OG Yelper like me would've patronized all the Irish bars in the city by now. Especially one with an appropriate historical reference in its name, a legendary 18th-century Irish revolutionary and freedom fighter, a kind of Zohran Mamdani for Brit-averse Dubliners. But no, while I love all things Ireland, I had yet to enter the corner double doors of this old school tavern. Normally I'd be thrilled by a cozy place that serves such Emerald Isle standards as corned beef with cabbage, bangers & mash, and sausage rolls. However, as a genuine napper, a moderate sodium intake is something I have to consider as I find a legitimate excuse to order the $14 Large Irish Coffee (Photo 9). Well, it was colder than the Ring of Kerry and my thirst could scale the Cliffs of Moher. An obvious veteran of the establishment, the friendly, inclusive bartender knew how to make one with true finesse and just a touch of blarney. With a shot of Jameson, it was most satisfying, and I would've danced an Irish jig in celebration. However, such displays of whiskey-induced enthusiasm probably went the way of my sodium intake. She took care of us and everything we needed. 10/10 vibes had rugby matches and upon request threw on the ufc fight for me and the boys. The place is a real pub and isn't decorated head to toe in rainbows. 8/10 food I had Irish breakfast and it was solid. 1/10 water. With all due respect the water tasted like it came from the toilet. The noise level was not very pleasant this past weekend as my partner and I tried to enjoy a meal before attending an event nearby. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. And it was about a 20-minute wait for our food to be ready. The chicken pot pie wasn't served in the traditional style. Rather, it was a small bowl of chunky flavorful broth, a nice mix of chicken and veggies, with a light & flaky puff pastry on top. It was low on the carbs but definitely satisfying, I finished every last bite. My bf enjoyed his crispy chicken salad, made with fresh ingredients and topped off with plenty of avocado. We also got some complimentary soda bread served to our table which was yummy with its crumbly texture and butter spread. To drink, the red sangria was delightful. It would be 5 stars if not for the crummiest cheesecake I've ever been served. It took me 40 years but I finally had my Ratatouille moment and it was right here. This meal was consumed at home on St. Patrick's Day. Delivery always robs you of a restaurant's true experience but despite ~50% of my genes being Irish, I have absolutely no tolerance for drunk people. My husband ordered the corned beef & hash because he's obsessed with the "tradition" aspect of food. I swear to god it's the only reason we tried this place. He could be on the road in the middle of the Mojave with a trunk full of perfectly ready-to-eat food, and he'll starve his ass to death if it happens to be St. Patrick's Day unless somehow a corned beef & hash food truck materializes in the desert. It's positively infantile. My Ratatouille moment was with the beef stew. The last time I had a proper beef stew was probably more than 25 years ago. My mom made my grandma's recipe when I was a kid. My husband, bless his heart, has erroneously claimed for 20 years, with minimal pushback from me because I'm polite, that there is no good stew. "It's a terrible dish with dried out meat bathing in oversalted broth!" He changed his mind when had the stew from Napper Tandy. Now the cheesecake? The cheesecake was an absolute joke and it wasn't even particularly great. It was very average but when you factor in the value, it becomes terrible. Maybe I got the last slice from an oversliced cheesecake but $6 for a sliver, and I do mean sliver--at the crust's edge my cheesecake was no wider than 2". You guys can buy a whole cheesecake from Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that's 32 Oz. for $12. You charge $6 per slice. Stay with me here. You can give customers a nice fat ol' piece of cheesecake from the delectible Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that actually makes it seem like they're getting their money's worth, it will taste amazing, and you can still charge $6 per slice. Legit Irish pub. It's been months since I've been here, but my mouth is just watering thinking back on the food here. From the pot roast to the shepherd's pie, it was comfort food at its finest and probably some of the best bar food I've ever had. They even have Irish soda bread, which uses buttermilk and baking soda to give rise to the bread rather than yeast. More of a dense texture, but still soft inside. Service did seem overwhelmed and there was a mix up with our cocktails at one point. Plus, I don't recall our waitress mentioning an extra charge for the Irish soda bread, but grateful for the recommendation! Definitely worth adding on. Sometimes I'm a walking cliche. Take Irish pubs. I'll walk in, order fish & chips, a shot of Jameson, and a Guinness. If they do it right, good review will follow. Nappy Tandy is in the Mission, and my barmaid was Danielle, with a lovely accent and blond ponytail. A few other blokes surrounded the bar. The door behind me was left open, a questionable choice when the weather was upper 50s at best, but it was fine. The shot was nice, the Guinness pour professionally done in two stages to optimize a centimeter head. The fish came in fried tubes, which was odd at first, but plenty of white flesh inside, piping hot. Good quantity of chips, with malt and ketchup. Charging $1.75 for a 2.5 oz portion of not made in house "tar tar" is ridiculous! See pic, we ordered 2. The Rueben didn't have any sliced corned beef on it. It was all little chunks like it came off the end of a roast sitting in au jus for hours. It also didn't taste like a Reuben. The front room has almost every game on and the back has more seating plus they also have a small outdoor area. Most of the front seating is bar seating with two small barrel tables. The people were incredibly nice and very attentive. The brunch food was delicious and much better than most sports bars. My chicken was fresh and so was the waffle! The fruit has strawberries!
