I love the interior as well as the lighting inside. I also like the mix of seating - from bar seating to velvet couches. It feels quite intimate inside, and the music is very nice as well. I got one of the gluten-free ciders to try, and it was great! I loved the fruity flavors of the drink and enjoyed that they labeled the gluten-free options carefully on the menu. On the day we went, they also were serving empanadas, and they looked so big and smells quite delicious. I definitely would've gotten one if I hadn't already been stuffed from dinner. The drinks at woods are always great. They have a back patio which is nice on warmer days if you can find seating (it's shared long tables). The vibe inside is elevated beer / wine bar but still casual. Was there on a Monday night and they had live jazz which was pretty cool. They recently changed to tacos (instead of the old Joyride pizza) and honestly was pretty disappointed in the new food. The chicken tostada had cold chicken and was basically a cheesy salad. Woods was a nice surprise for our evening! We wanted some drinks and apps, and this was the perfect place. Great locations with fresh beer and wine, cozy environment with rotating art on display, delicious Detroit style pizza on site from Joyride, chill playlists, nice breezy plant covered patio and sometimes live jazz inside. woods is such a cute brewery in lower haight! the beers are all amazing and super high quality. the blueberry boyfriend sour was my favorite. for the food (from joyride pizza), i'd recommend skipping the tater tots which were very regular. however, the veggie pizza was super delicious! the crust was amazing and baked with cheese. service was fine but the bartender wasn't the most friendly in my opinion. there was also only one person pouring and taking orders on a sunday afternoon. that's fine, but i'd expect a bit more hospitality and friendliness to be honest. overall, i would come back to woods and also go to their other locations! read more

What a great find! Not very many breweries directly in SF, let alone open on a Monday. After chatting with someone who is local we were guided to Woods. The beers are wonderful! Everything we had was fantastic. The standouts were the hazy and the beers brewed with yerbe mate. The bartender, Alan, was friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed chatting with him. Really nice spot for dinner/drinks. They have a joyride kitchen on-site so the pizzas are freshly made to order and are delicious! For anyone who likes Detroit style pizza its a must try. I particularly like the sweet heat one with pineapples and jalapenos. The pizzas are pretty expensive - $27 for most of them and they're not too big, but they are filling and really yummy. One pizza should be enough for 1-2 people. Their drink menu has beer and natural wine (wine with no additives) with most wines around $15 per glass. There's tons of seating indoors, with tables for 2 and booths for larger groups of up to 6. The inside is dimly lit and makes for a nice intimate atmosphere. There's also an outdoor patio with 4-5 benches that can seat large groups. Service is all at the counter - you order there and the pizzas are brought over to your table. The Woods also serves Joyride Pizza. Joyride Pizza is Detroit-style, and the crust is thick, soft, and perfectly doughy with crispy cheese on the edges. My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken. It has Buffalo sauce, mozzarella, chicken, green onions, and blue cheese. It is soooo good. Joyride also offers gluten-free, and its just as good as the regular pizza. It's good for catch ups, first dates, 50th dates, bringing out of towners. Having Joyride Pizza is incredible, since some other locations just have empanadas which makes it feel like a spot for snacking, but this location feels like a real place you can sit and drink and hang out for an extended, relaxed meal. Great find in the Lower Haight. Look for the motorcycle in front, always there. You can't tell from the outside, but the place is pretty large, modern & clean. There's a lovely surprise patio in the back, surrounded by greenery. What a great event space. But that's not their main purpose. Been wanting to check out this spot and finally came in on a Sunday afternoon. The vibe was cozy and chill; good seeing some nice plants displayed around the area. Lots of beer/wine selections! They also serve Joyride Pizza, which was probably one of the reasons we came. You order at the counter and they pour out the drinks for you. The only downside was the drink that our friend ordered wasn't that great. Couldn't remember the name of it but it was something strawberry; the after taste just tasted very artificial and odd. The crunch on this DSP style was fantastic, flavor was out of this world, and the acidity of the tomato sauce with the piped ricotta on top was perfect. Nothing else needs to be said about this. -- Location -- Great place on Haight! Walkable from the Panhandle and lots of other areas of SF (Hayes Valley, Alamo, etc) -- Service -- Super casual, you order at the cash register and they pour the drinks quickly. So, this review is exclusively for Joyride pizza, so it feels weird even posting it here but I don't think posting it on a Joyride Yelp makes more sense so here we go.. We ordered online for pick up from the Woodside website. This location opened up pretty close to us so we've been wanting to try it. We ordered garlic knots, the sweet bianca + pepperoni, and the zoe roni. Everything was delicious BESIDES the garlic knots. I don't know if they came out the oven way earlier or what, but they tasted they some terrible garlic bread you get from pizza hut that has been sitting out for a while. Like honestly not good at all. HOWEVER, the pizza was delicious! I put this somewhere in between cellarmaker (as my fav detroit style) and sq. pie guys (which is still good too). This is lighter than both cellarmaker and sq. pie guys, with more crispy cheese and better edges/crust than SPG but not cellar maker. It is def good - has a light fluffy feel with very good flavor. My fiance didn't love the sweet bianca but I thought it was delish with the pepperoni complimenting it. It is very sweet though for sure. I am sure we will be ordering again and next time we'll probably stop in for a beer or two with our pies! read more
