Lunch Special. Beef Stroganoff, with 1/2 liter of Munich Beer. Delicious.

What a fantastic selection of draft Austrian and German beers. Wine choices are solid, and non alcoholic options available. I love the sausages, and European fair.

This is an amazing pub with Austrian background. The food was good. I had fish and chips and it was very crunchy fried but not as much flavor as it could be. But in terms of the goulash it was very good. And the brockwurst was great with the mustard provided. Service was outstanding. And it is a classic pub experience and ambience. We will be back!

German sausages. Drooling. This is the best place to get German sausages. I have no idea which is the best but it is the one you order! I had the Bockwurst. Came with skinny fries. Added a salad to appease the guilt and balance out the fries. I would like to try the schnitzel one of these days. The place is super reasonable. The place was quiet since there were no actual competitive sports. Giants was losing! May I make a suggestion to the owner, add to the menu, 5 sausages for $35 and add a big plate of fries to be split among 2 to 3 people. This way, we can try all the sausages at once.

OMG this place is a madhouse. It's severely understaffed. There is only ONE waitress who's running the place. She's doing her best, but I feel sorry for her.

Great bar stop for those casual get togethers or date night rendezvous - tasty food, friendly service, and a wide selection of drinks. It's one of those places where it's so easy to lose track of time because of how comfortable you feel there - will definitely be coming back!

Steins is fun! The menu (primarily German fare) is short but consists of a robust variety of sausages as well as schnitzel. Thus far, I've tried all of the sausages, finding them each to be good in their own way (the bratwurst is probably my favorite). On my most recent trip, and despite not liking and not asking for it on my plate, I tried the sauerkraut and found that it paired unusually well with the knockwurst. The fries were hot, thin, and crispy, and there were plenty of them. The food is fine, but the main event of Steins is the drink, and Stein's offers a variety of both German and local (draught and bottled) beers. I got the Andechser Dopplebock Dunkel, which had a lovely malty caramelly flavor and went perfectly with the knock and kraut. The ambiance of the place also ranges from being on the festive side of upscale (normal dining hours) to sports bar (gametime), both of which are pleasant.

Outdoor and indoor seating available! They offer food and a nice selection of German beers and wine. I ordered the LaMarca Prosecco ($10) and it was excellent! The others ordered beer, forgot which ones, but they said it was good. Parking: a bit difficult! Metered street parking or if you're lucky, parking in the residential area, but not likely. Overall, a nice addition to clement st! Must try for all the beer lovers out there! :)

Steins. It's a German restaurant and sports bar with beer and German bistro like burgers and bratwurst. They have wienerschnitzel and other items that you would have to explore. I wanted to have a simple sample, so I got the bratwurst sandwich on roll with vegetable toppings like onions. It came with a load of fries and I needed more ketchup. On a street like Clement with so many Asian restaurants, maybe a Hawaiian, and a gastropub, is a more authentic German food place. Seating outdoors during covid. Beer is probably a must. review 1500 in san francisco

First time here. Smoked sausage...excellant. Fish and chips, crispy on the outside, juicy and soft on inside. Beer, good IPA and dark beer. Decent choices. Portions very good. Left full. I will be back. Only con....parking can be tough.

Great place to watch sports and to enjoy some good food and beer. I don't drink a lot, but I do like some beer and wine once in a while. The owner here is very nice and we always enjoy our meals here.

Delish rye sauerkraut with the brats dish. Great food and welcoming service, frequented by jovial locals to chat up at the long bar with lots of seating and open space around.

Came here for their $25 ribeye fries and a 1 liter TH.Konig Zeickl unfiltered beer! Really great beer and service from Mandy! I think we found our new place for German beers and games. Ribeye was delicious Fries fresh and crispy Highly recommend this place for a chill bar restaurant vibe.

A serving of smoked bratwurst with mashed potatoes on the side. What a wonderful quick meal for lunch or dinner.

Visit as of 8/6/20019: I am finding it hard to believe I have not reviewed Steins either. Steins is awesome. It's all on friendly staff, delicious food and excellent service. Some of the food items I tried: - onion rings - smoked bratwursts - mashed potatoes It's all very delicious and it's German food that is worth the try and enjoying here in San Francisco. I will definitely coming back to try something else from the menu. There are flat screen televisions and it is broadcasting sports most of the time. If you are looking for a place to watch sports and enjoy delicious German food, look no further than Steins. Steins - one good place to be especially when looking to catch up with some long time friends and classmates. When it is one of those days you are seeking to watch sports and enjoy delicious German food, come to Steins. Overall, positive experience here. Because: - friendly staff - delicious food - excellent service

I stopped by around 4:30 p.m. and there were a few tables where I saw folks finishing up their work day on their laptops with a beer. It's neither overly crowded, nor overly loud, which is perfect for getting work done. Since it was the World Cup and many guests would be camping out for the entire match, table service has a per person minimum spend of $25. This is a really a non-issue because a cocktail is around $15, so two drinks, or one drink with some food, will easily hit this minimum. My wife and I shared crispy pork schnitzel ($17) and an order of their deviled eggs ($12). The deviled eggs were nicely seasoned and included a small salad shrimp on top for some variety. The pork schnitzel was perfectly fried and the potatoes in the included side-salad was well-cooked and not over dressed. I would recommend enjoying the schnitzel with some mustard. Both drinks that I ordered -- an Old Fashioned and a Boulvardier, were well prepared. No notes here. Service here was top notch. Throughout our stay, our server checked up on us multiple times and we never had to wait long to place another order for drinks. Tipping options on the receipt include pre-calculated 18%, 20%, and 22% options (on top of the 5% SF Mandate). Last but not least, the restaurant had clean bathrooms and a bunch of large TV screens on every wall. If you're looking to watch a sports match, Sam's Tavern is the place to go!

I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews. I was just there to watch a World Cup game. It was packed. There were plenty of bartenders and plenty of bus people. Cocktail offerings are also below average, and it's strange that they offer one Pinot Noir for their red options. (This is California!) And there is one bartender/manager who isn't familiar with many standard cocktails... So you have to work around these limitations...at a large bar. Evidence of this two-star review is the low turnout of customers on even a weekend night. Just 2-3 people in this large space. Playoff game nights are better, but hardly the standing room only situation we saw at the old SFAC. It's a pity because they would have tons of business given the lack of big sports bars in this part of town. We don't know how they keep the lights on now. I hope they improve their game -- because they need a serious timeout. (In comparison, check out The Fishbowl up the street...they are packed every Friday, big game or not. Small but mighty. And they often have just the one very capable bartender doing all of the work, and keeping regulars and other guests happy!)
