A great local bar. Good food, good selection of drinks, and friendly staff. A fantastic choice for an after work drink!

Food is great, but the bartenders are simply the best! Great atmosphere - kinda feels like Cheers where so many know and greet each other, staff and customers alike. Perfect place before a Giants game, or any other sports. Tons of TVs, indoor & outdoor seating. Lots on tap. Can get super busy, but as long as you are patient when they get slammed, it's all well worth Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Coffee at the bar. Yes, people do order this. Haha

Went here to watch the 49er game. Arrived at 9:45, game started at 10. Luckily, I found a place to sit at the bar. I had a coffee (free refills) and later ordered the turkey wrap which was good. Prices were fair. I was on a first date so I didn't pay for anything. The bartenders were on it, constantly checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely go back.

I came to local tap for a work lunch and enjoyed the restaurant and the food! I went with the Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was really well dressed and the chicken was cooked well. Service was friendly and attentive, coming over to check on us multiple times. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

LOVED the vibes here We were in the mood for some pretzels and a drink and we hit the jackpot. The kitchen closes at 9 and we arrived just a few minutes before so we got lucky with ordering food. The bartender was super nice! Poppin cherry: she was quite generous with the liquor lol I definitely had a good buzz after one of these. It almost tasted like a Dirty Shirley drink but a little more on a Robitussin medicine flavor. It was good the more you drank it and it got the job done. Pretzel bites: so simple yet so delicious. You might think they look so plain, but once u get that first bite... it's a game changer. It had some what of a crisp to it and was so soft and flavorful. It wasn't hard or chewy or dull. The house mustard and cheese just made the best combo for these small but mighty bites. A MUST! It's really close to oracle park so u get a crowd of people ready to watch the game. We will be coming back for sure!

Bartenders were awesome and a great place to watch a Packers game when you visit San Francisco. Excellent selection of beer and drinks.

Fun fact - the SF Giants suck. But... this Giants themed bar is great. The beer is COLD ...AND...they have 3 Russian River beers on tap. They get a pass for the Giants sucking so bad. GO MARINERS!!!!!

    Are they Dog friendly?

Yes we are. They need to be on a leash inside.

Cheeseheads coming for a long weekend this weekend and looking for a good place to watch the Packer game Thursday night. Does this place fit the bill? Looking for decent bar/football food and decent TVs.

Hi Yes we have all Tv’s and Jell-O shots with sound on for the Packers. Go Pack Go!!!

Only 21 & over can come in?

No, this is a family friendly establishment - at least all the hours of the day I have been there!

When should I come on Wednesday for Game 3 of the NBA Finals? Will the bar hit capacity? Will there be room to sit/stand?

Of course. Every bar in the city is gonna be packed!

I made a reservation well in advance for a party of six and arrived about 15 minutes early, expecting that having a reservation would guarantee us a good viewing experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Despite having separate lines for reservations and walk-ins, both were being let in at the same time, making the reservation process feel meaningless. When we finally checked in, the staff seemed overwhelmed and unsure of how to handle the situation. We were ultimately seated in a back corner with a very poor view of the TVs, which defeated the entire purpose of coming to watch the game. To make matters worse, we were placed near an area with dirty dishes and constant foot traffic, which made it noisy and distracting. If you're planning to watch an important match and want a reliable, enjoyable experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of places that better manage reservations and prioritize the viewing experience for their guests. Unfortunately, this was not one of them, and I won't be returning for another watch party.

What originally started as a disappointment became a huge blessing once we found the board room. Feet aching, sweaty, and tired we made our way to this bar. Immediately you could tell it's a local favorite, the ambiance was nice and a great spot to people-watch. There was a cup flipping event which was super fun to spectate, along side the rotating pictures of the bar's beloved pooches . We ordered 2 western burgers, 12 count bone-in wings (half bbq, half Hawaiian), and an appetizer of corn dogs, tater tots, bacon Mac & cheese bites, and mozzarella sticks. Later we also added boneless buffalo wings which were so tangy, well-seasoned, and HOT. The western bacon burgers were so delicious, crispy bacon, crispy onion rings, and some bomb.com bbq sauce. The wings were drowned in sauce (just how we like them) , the bbq was to die for and the Hawaiian had the perfect little kick of spice for our picky eaters. The appetizer platter was also fried to perfection, with the perfect crunch on the tater tots & corn dogs. The Mac & cheese bites & mozzarella sticks were perfectly cheesed, with an amazing cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks. Along with the food, my boyfriend and I ordered some drinks. I got a margarita and he got a Guinness. Both drinks were good, very standard and well served. The couple behind the bar were very funny and super kind to us being dazed after all the walking. On our way back down to SoCal my brother is still raving about the burgers, this is a MUST-STOP the next time we come up to San Francisco!!

I stopped by around 4:30 p.m. and there were a few tables where I saw folks finishing up their work day on their laptops with a beer. It's neither overly crowded, nor overly loud, which is perfect for getting work done. Since it was the World Cup and many guests would be camping out for the entire match, table service has a per person minimum spend of $25. This is a really a non-issue because a cocktail is around $15, so two drinks, or one drink with some food, will easily hit this minimum. My wife and I shared crispy pork schnitzel ($17) and an order of their deviled eggs ($12). The deviled eggs were nicely seasoned and included a small salad shrimp on top for some variety. The pork schnitzel was perfectly fried and the potatoes in the included side-salad was well-cooked and not over dressed. I would recommend enjoying the schnitzel with some mustard. Both drinks that I ordered -- an Old Fashioned and a Boulvardier, were well prepared. No notes here. Service here was top notch. Throughout our stay, our server checked up on us multiple times and we never had to wait long to place another order for drinks. Tipping options on the receipt include pre-calculated 18%, 20%, and 22% options (on top of the 5% SF Mandate). Last but not least, the restaurant had clean bathrooms and a bunch of large TV screens on every wall. If you're looking to watch a sports match, Sam's Tavern is the place to go!

All seating is bar style with high tables hence the name "Hardwood Bar." The food was okay and I'd much rather go to Fikscue if I'm feeling BBQ next time to be honest. We shared ribs and each of us got an entree. One of my friends often orders from here for delivery and was excited to try it in person so that the food would be hot. Surprisingly, our tri tip and brisket came out slightly cold so it wasn't that different from delivery... The ribs were okay and not the most tender. Our server was great and service was good despite the restaurant being relatively full and served by one person. What I find the most perplexing is how they calculate the "SF mandate" fee and sales tax. I'm local to SF so I'm used to restaurants tacking on this "SF mandate"/"SF healthy mandate" fee, but their calculations just seem a bit off (see receipt). If we're calculating this correctly, 4% of $130.40 should be $5.22 and 8.63% of $130.40 should be $11.25. If you include the SF mandate fee in the tax calculation, then the $11.74 is right (if you include their calculation of the SF mandate fee). I'm not going to argue over a 50 cents or so but it's the principle of it! They should definitively state the actual % of 4.35% they're charging instead of just stating 4%. I mean at scale -- it adds up right? It rubbed me the wrong way for sure.
